Dropzone - Deckard
Hello Europans and everyone beyond the belt! This week's patch will release August 2nd. Some HUD improvements, a few balance changes, and a big overhaul of the custom lobby system. Check out all the details below!

Gameplay Notes
  • Dead Rig Command Grid
    • The Command Grid is now fully interactable even when your rigs are dead
      • Upgrade your rigs via mouse click or hotkeys (ALT + Q, W, E)
      • Hover over gear and software icons to see their information card (Hold down ALT to expand their details)
      • Give your teammates information about your health/respawn time remaining by ALT + Left Mouse clicking on your pilot portrait and/or tab
Gear Changes
  • Hydraulic Pins
    • Base HP lowered from 400 to 250
  • Momentum Shifter
    • Base speed lowered from 4 to 3 m/s
Miscellaneous Notes
  • Custom Lobby now supports variable rigs per player
    • This change replicates what players are able to seek for in the Quickmatch queue
    • Only the Host of the lobby can adjust the amount of rigs the other players use
    • Next to each name is a Dropmark icon that rotates when clicked. The number of red dots indicates how many rigs that player controls
    • The size of the player slot will automatically adjust based on the number of rigs that player is controlling
  • The level cap restriction for Ranked Draft in Custom Lobbies has been lifted
    • 1v1 (3 Rig control per player) no longer requires level 10 but still requires owning 6 pilots
    • 3v3 (1 Rig control per player) no longer requires level 5
  • Dead rigs will now have a “skull and crossbones” overlay on their pilot portrait in the Command Grid
  • The 4th “Ranked Squad” slot in the Builder is now a normal slot that can be selected and renamed
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an issue that prevented players from utilizing the Ranked Draft option in a 6 player (3v3) Custom Lobby game
  • Fixed an issue that caused the uplink SFX, VFX, and HUD animations to continue if a rig was killed during the uploading process
  • Fixed an issue that caused Shrapnel’s profile quote to be “null”
  • Various localization fixes
Known Issues
  • Locking Observer slots in Custom Matches only works when both slots are empty
  • The Private Match setting only works when the game is already created, so someone can join in-between
  • Hive Link does not have a cast ring around hives to show where the ability can be cast
  • Global Chat does not reflect your changed name until you have restarted the game
  • Due to the new leveling system, older replays will be using observer information that is out of date. A replay wipe will be in the near future, so we suggest video capturing any replays you would like to save

So there you have it everyone. Let us know if you catch any bugs we missed in the Custom Lobby changes, and keep your feedback coming!

Thanks!

Greetings Commanders! This week's patch will release on July 20th and is a bit of a game changer! Cross-Mode queue is finally here and as you might have seen on some of our other broadcast channels, the broken transmission we mentioned the other week was from our new Sniper pilot, SHRAPNEL! See below for all the details!

Gameplay Notes
  • One Queue to Rule Them All
    • Our Cross-Mode Multi-Queue system is here!
      • 1v1 and 3v3 queues have been combined for Standard (Unranked) games
      • Players now have the option to seek for games where they control 1, 2, or 3 rigs
      • Players can match up with other players of different combinations. For example, a player controlling 3 rigs can match with three players controlling 1 rig each, or even one player controlling 1 rig and one player controlling 2 rigs
      • Ranked play modes remain at 1v1 or 3v3
      • Ranked queue tab also lists your current REP per mode
    • Party Restrictions
      • Parties of 3 are only able to seek for 1 Rig control
      • Parties of 2 are able to seek for 1 Rig and/or 2 Rig control. If only 2 Rig is selected by the initiator, 2 Rig control is given to the initiator and 1 Rig control is given to the party member. If both are selected and a third player is not found in a reasonable time comparative to MMR, the above rules follow, otherwise the third player joins the team and all three players control 1 rig each

Known Issues
  • Locking Observer slots in Custom Matches only works when both slots are empty

Greetings Europa! This week's patch will release on July 5th. It's a relatively light one, but there are some nice nuggets for you.

Also... we recently received a broken transmission in the clear. It's very garbled and missing some data. We have our team working to clean it up, but the one word we have been able to understand so far is.... "shrapnel". Could be a distress signal, could be a debris clean-up crew. Unsure at the moment. We will keep you posted when we know more.

For now, here are the patch notes for Wednesday's release!

Gameplay Notes
  • Test Loadout Sandbox now supports unowned pilots
    • One of your biggest request is finally available!
    • Simply click on any unowned pilot in the Builder to add that pilot to your dropship, then click Test Loadout and you’ll be taken to the Sandbox where you can use their default gear to get a feel for them before purchasing
    • You cannot “Save” your loadout when you have an unowned pilot on your dropship
  • Sideboards for Ranked play have been removed from the game
    • This change is in direct response to Sideboards not fulfilling a balance function for counter-picking pilots
    • This removal is also preparation for a different change coming in a few weeks that will address the counter-picking that players will be doing for Ranked matches, now that the new leveling system is gear-focused instead of rig-focused
    • Any gear contained in your sideboard will automatically be returned to your inventory
    • Ranked play is still gated at player level 10 and needing to own 6 pilots
Miscellaneous Notes
  • Revamped in-game HUD and Builder UI (WIP)
    • To go along with last week’s in-game leveling changes we have slightly modified our in-game HUD to be sleeker and more screen-space efficient:
      • Squad level and Squad XP bar are shown in upper left and right corners, directly next to the new team banner, as well as directly underneath the new Command Grid
      • Team banners now replace having three player icons stacked per side
      • The scoreboard is the new location for the main overview information of all 6 pilots in the match. Respawn timers are visible for all 6, but health bars are only visible for your own team. Hovering over your teammates gives you their gear unlock/cooldown status
      • The Command Grid has been rearranged and is still WIP. When playing 3rig control (1v1 style) you’ll have an extra set of buttons on the left side of the Command Grid to cycle through your three rigs via tab, or mouse click
      • The Inspection Window has also been given a slight redesign
    • Builder UI changes
      • Gear/Software tabs have been added to the Gear window. Clicking on the tabs will automatically move the slot selection on the Builder Command Grid to the corresponding gear/software category for easier equipping
      • “Test Loadout” and “Save Loadout” buttons are now placed under the Pilot list
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an issue where the Surrender UI was not scaled properly for 4k resolution
  • Fixed an issue where chat messages from Draft were overlapping new chat messages once the game began
  • Fixed an issue where the Inspection Window was appearing on mouse button down, instead of mouse button up
  • Minor localization fixes
Known Issues
  • AVG antivirus software may incorrectly flag the Dropzone client as malicious. We have reached out to them to whitelist the client. In the meantime, you should be able to manually allow your antivirus software to allow the Dropzone client to run
  • There are known issues with words bleeding outside of their bounding boxes for every language other than English. Fixes are on the way
  • Locking Observer slots in Custom Matches only works when both slots are empty
  • The Private Match setting only works when the game is already created, so someone can join in-between
  • Hive Link does not have a cast ring around hives to show where the ability can be cast
  • Global Chat does not reflect your changed name until you have restarted the game
  • Due to the new leveling system, older replays will be using observer information that is out of date. A replay wipe will be in the near future, so we suggest video capturing any replays you would like to save

That about wraps up this week's changes! Thanks for reading and as always give us your feedback in the forums!

See you in the drift, Commanders.

Attention all Commanders!

As most of you have already seen in our Patch Notes release yesterday, build 2301 has a huge change to our in-game leveling system. If you haven't tried it out yet, or you've played with it but want to learn more about it, our very own Andrew Auseon has put together a short video explaining the change, how it differs from the old method, and why we decided to go this direction.

Also, if you look close enough, something not yet released is hiding in plain sight somewhere in the video. Can you find it? ;)
