Today's update brings a host of new and improved features in addition to the seasonal Dota Plus refresh. Dive deep into your match performance with the Battle Report, enjoy a variety of different game modes with Weekend Spotlight, and customize your hero loadout even further with Unlocked Immortal Spell Effects. Then check out 8 all-new sets found in the Summer Seasonal Treasure. Or skip that stuff for now and start right away with the 7.31d Gameplay Update to learn about changes to your favorite heroes.
Head over to the full update website for all the details. Battle Reports are customized for each Dota Plus member, but the rest of the fun — like earning Shards and unlocking Relics and other rewards — is now available to everyone.
Vulkan Performance Improvements This update also includes a significant performance improvement aimed at removing hitching when playing with the Vulkan renderer. Dota now supports the VK_EXT_graphics_pipeline_library extension which eliminates draw time hitching due to shader compilation. This feature is currently supported only in the NVIDIA Vulkan Beta driver available https://developer.nvidia.com/vulkan-driver, with future support expected in mainline drivers by NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel.
Upcoming Plans Every year, fans gather from around the globe to watch the best players in the world compete for the Aegis of Champions at The International. As fans ourselves, we know that after the confetti finishes falling and the fireworks fade away, we want nothing more than to go and play more Dota — after all, why can't we play Magnus like Collapse, or every carry hero like Yatoro?
To capture this excitement from current and returning players, we're structuring the Battle Pass a little differently this year: we want to make the time right after The International concludes the best time to play Dota. To do this, we're going to adjust the timing of the Battle Pass release to be later in the year than in previous years — that way the Battle Pass will run both throughout the event, and for a significant amount of time afterwards.
At the Stockholm Major, we were pleased to unveil that The International will be hosted in Singapore, bringing the crowning event in esports to SEA for the first time. Featuring four consecutive weekends of Dota action, and a total of 30 teams from all over the world, this will be the largest Dota event to date.
In our constant efforts to make the event and its broadcast as exciting and accessible as possible, we’re experimenting with a slightly different schedule that includes more breaks and a greater build to Finals. Here’s how we’re structuring it this year for the biggest celebration of Dota 2 yet:
The Last Chance Qualifiers will run from October 8-12, followed by the Group Stage on October 15-18 — featuring 20 teams battling to make the Main Event. The qualifying teams will then battle through the Playoffs at SunTec Singapore October 20-23, where the field will narrow even further. The survivors will advance to the Finals at Singapore Indoor Stadium October 29-30 — where the Aegis of Champions will hang in the balance. Stay tuned for ticket information for the Playoffs at SunTec Singapore and the Finals at Singapore Indoor Stadium, each of which will be announced later.
Looking Forward
The Dota team is hard at work on the upcoming Dota Plus June update which includes not only the traditional seasonal refresh, but also several exciting new features and the 7.31d Gameplay Update. Because this update is a larger than normal, it's going to ship a bit later than normal on June 8th.
The Stockholm Major has finished, and after ten days of intense Dota, OG have emerged victorious. Congratulations to Ammar, Ceb, bzm, Yuragi, and Taiga on their impressive performance.
OG started the tournament with a strong showing during the group stage, but in the first round of the playoff bracket they lost 2-0 to TSM FTX, dropping to the lower bracket. With their backs against the wall, they rallied and secured wins against Fnatic, Thunder Awaken, Gaimin Gladiators, and Tundra Esports to reach the Grand Finals, where a rematch with TSM FTX was waiting. TSM FTX took Game 1 in convincing fashion and hoped to close out the rest of the series just as they did in the first round; however, OG showed their resilience once again, securing the next three wins in a row to crown themselves the Major champions.
We’d like to thank the teams that battled their way through the Spring Tour all the way to Stockholm, and all the fans who watched and supported them — it was truly exciting to feel the energy of a live audience again. We look forward to seeing what happens in the upcoming Summer Tour, featuring Regional League play from June 6 - July 17 and The Arlington Major August 4 - August 14. Time is running short for teams to prove they belong amongst the best in the world — those who deserve a place at The International fighting for the Aegis that awaits in Singapore this October.
The Eastern Europe Qualifier tournament is now complete after 5 days of intense Dota. Congratulations to BetBoom, Team Spirit, and Mind Games who will now join teams from the around the world at the Stockholm Major.
The Major kicks off on May 12th, and tickets are still available to see the teams live at Hovet Arena from May 20-22 at https://www.esl-one.com/dpc.
Fantasy for the Major
Be a part of the action by playing Fantasy Dota during the Major. Fantasy will work largely the same as during the Spring Tour league with the biggest difference being that there is a period every day of the Major instead of every week.
As a refresher, here's how to participate:
Earn Card Packs
Earn one card pack for each first win of the day.
Buy card packs for your favorite teams.
Join Supporters Clubs to get bonus packs.
Open Card Packs
Basic packs now contain players only from teams qualified to the major.
Team card packs for teams that didn't qualify will still grant you the gold or silver card for that team, but all other cards will be for major qualified players.
Choose your Daily Lineup
For each day in the major, choose a team of player cards that you think will perform the best.
Another action-packed tour of the Dota Pro Circuit is drawing to a close. Now the top teams in Division I will gather in Stockholm to square off against fellow competitors from around the world. Congratulations to the teams that have earned the right to attend:

Eastern Europe Qualifier Tournament
Due to the terrible events of the war in Ukraine, we were forced to postpone the EEU DPC tour. Throughout this time, we've been talking directly with the affected teams to see if we can find a safe and fair way to resume DPC play for the EEU region.
As the result of these discussions, we've determined that we can run an EEU qualifier tournament, and the winners will be able to join their peers in Stockholm for the Major. The tournament will begin on Wednesday, April 27th, using a double-elimination bracket, and DPC points will be distributed in a similar way to what would have come from the league.
Supporters Club Sale
The challenges of the season have revealed the top contenders, and the Major that awaits them is nearly set to begin. Show support for all your favorite teams by joining their Supporters Clubs — now on sale for 50% off through the remainder of the tour. As always, 50% of every Supporters Club sale goes directly to the team.
Supporters Clubs are also a great way to load up on Fantasy player card packs — so you can ensure extra depth for your rosters before Fantasy unlocks for the Major.
Fantasy Preparation
During the League portion of the DPC Spring Tour, Fantasy was divided per-region so that players could primarily follow their favorite region to earn rewards. In the upcoming Major, teams from all regions will be coming together for international play, which may put participants that only have cards for a single region at a disadvantage.
To help avoid this, we've temporarily disabled opening card packs until the EEU tournament finishes and we know all teams slated to play at the Major. After that, any card packs opened will contain cards from all teams qualified to the Major instead of only a specific region.
Full details about Fantasy for the Major will be revealed after the EEU tournament is complete.
There's nothing creeps enjoy more than swapping out swords for brooms and sweeping up the barracks. Fortunately for us, that means it's time to enjoy the fruits of their janitorial efforts as today's patch opens the windows and doors of Dota for the Spring Cleaning Update for 2022 — focused on bug fixes and a passel of quality-of-life improvements.
You can head over to the Spring Cleaning Update page to peruse some featured highlights — like improvements to Aghanim's tooltips, Muting Controls, Shop Searches, and Demo Hero mode — or dig into the full list of changes.
Plus, don't miss all the other springtime action unfolding as the DPC Tour continues the march towards the next Major. Tune in daily for high-level Dota that showcases established powerhouses along with future stars competing around the globe.
- Game State Integration now requires the command-line option "-gamestateintegration" to function. This is because there can be a per-frame performance impact to using game state integration.
The brief interlude following last season's Regional Finals introduced both Primal Beast and the 7.31 Gameplay update to the world, and while players are still exploring the new-meta landscape, it's time for Dota's top talent to face off and show the rest of us how it's truly done.
Tune in as the DPC Spring Tour kicks off on March 14, sparking action across the globe as teams battle through Regional Leagues to earn their spot in the Spring Major. All are eager to reach the next leg of the Tour on a high note, with budding dreams of qualifying for The International, which looms further beyond.
Spring Tour Fantasy Lineups
Fantasy for the DPC Spring Tour is now available, ready to help plug you directly into the pro scene from the Spring Tour's very first game. Featuring a new distribution of rewards, this season guarantees you’ll haul something home just by playing — so open your first card packs today and set to planning your preferred regional rosters in preparation for next week's start of play.
Fantasy Reward Changes
Instead of 1/2/3 Fantasy Levels going to the top 50%/25%/10% percent in each period, now players will earn 1/2/3/4 Fantasy Levels if they're in the top 100%/50%/25%/10%. Every 4th Fantasy Level will earn you a new DPC Lineage treasure (coming soon), and all other levels reward you with shards. Make sure to set your roster each week for guaranteed rewards.
Fantasy Rules Recap
If you're new to Fantasy or just need a refresher, here's a recap before you unpack your cards and play. You can also check the How to Play breakdown in the FANTASY section of the client for full details.
The Basics For each weeklong period, fans set a Fantasy roster made up of two Core Player Cards, one Mid Player Card, and two Support Player Cards. Player Cards on a roster score Fantasy points based on how well they perform in that period's matches. Silver & Gold Cards have stat bonuses that earn more points.
Player Card Packs All players have been granted 10 starter packs claimable on the DPC menu under the Watch tab. Additional Player Card Packs can be earned daily by winning a game of Dota. Team Packs will be available for purchase directly from the PLAYER CARDS tab in the WATCH section as teams submit their Supporters Club bundles in the near future.
When you open a pack you'll receive player cards from the specific region you have selected.
Regional Fantasy Each DPC region is its own Fantasy league with its own player cards and unique lineup. You may choose to participate in multiple regional leagues, and you will earn Fantasy Levels based on your best fantasy league performance for the period. For instance, if you place in the top 10% of one league and the top 50% of another, you will receive the points for the top 10% placement. Region rewards do not stack.
At the end of each period, you will earn levels based on the Fantasy points for that period. Rewards will be unlocked based on your current overall Fantasy Level.
Scoring Matches All Division I matches during the Spring 2022 Tour are eligible for Fantasy play. The highest scoring two games of a best-of-three count towards a player's score. If a team plays more than one series during a period, only their highest-scoring series will count.
EEU Regional Tour Postponement
As the terrible suffering caused by the war in Ukraine unfolds, we do not see a way that the Eastern European DPC league can happen as envisioned for the foreseeable future, and it was with much regret that we recently had to postpone the Spring Tour in one of the community's most vibrant and storied regions. Given these circumstances, Epic Esports Events proactively reached out to us to give up their rights to the EEU DPC so that players, teams, and the community can focus on safety and security.
Some EEU players have also recently contacted us asking for the league to continue. At this time, we don't believe that is possible; however, we are engaging directly with all of the teams and players in the league to see what their individual situations are and whether there might be ways that we could proceed.
Dota is inextricably a global game. The very name of The International itself is testament to a shared celebration of sport that connects people of every nation into a singular community of passionate fans. Our goals with the tournament and the DPC as a whole have always been focused on showcasing the enormous power of this human connection that thrives on participation from all parts of Dota fandom.
We sincerely hope that we will be able to go back to bringing an international audience together again in the future and more than all we wish for our friends in the affected regions to be safe.
