Patch Notes for 4.1.1.0034
Known Issues
Jump points are not usable in Turn-Based combat: We are aware of this issue and are currently looking for a solution to address this problem.
Resolved Issues
The storm cutscene will now always trigger properly after the introductory fight.
The grimoire UI will now correctly display grimoires that are in stores and containers.
The Infamous Captain passive no longer causes ship deck fights to start during the introductory cutscene. Additionally, the fear effect now only triggers in ship combats.
In turn-based combat, all present enemies will now properly act in the first round instead of waiting until the second.
The following trinkets will no longer prevent the player from losing their turn in turn-based mode:
Crucible Token's "Kazuwari's Call"
Betrayal's "Quick to Rebel"
Detonator Shard's "Final Flame"
Eye of Rymrgand's "Winter's Veil"
Kaihoa's "Lost in Time"
Waidwen's Sundial's "Life Through Death"
Whispers of Neriscyrlas' "Corrosive Breath"
Characters will no longer become stuck when trying to move near enemies in turn-based combat.
The game will no longer pause when opening a tutorial during turn-based combat.
Certain spells no longer consume Action Point from the character's next turn.
Party members now move at the correct speed when in stealth.
Characters with unused engagements will now engage enemies that move in range even if they are not the primary target.
Characters will no longer say "Can't Do" barks when hovering enemies in turn-based mode.
Many enemies with Might or Constitution affliction resistances will now defend against the correct effects.
Balance Changes
Characters will Graze on attack rolls of 1-49 in Turn-Based mode instead of 25-49.
Adjusted Forbidden Fist ability:
Reduced initial damage, but increased the damage bonus per curse to +50% (from +25%).
Reduced the duration of the curse to 6s (from 10s).
Reduced the added duration per use to 6s (from 10s).
Added duration from subsequent curses will no longer increase the duration of the initial curse.
Hid unnecessary self-application information from the combat log.
Turn-Based Mode (Beta) - A new way to adventure in the world of Eora, Turn-Based mode is an alternate way to play and experience combat in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire. This is an Open Beta feature, and we'd love to hear from our players on how this mode feels, and any issues that arise from playing it. The new game mode can be selected by starting a new game and clicking on Turn-Based Mode.
Major Fixes & Updates
Some instances of corrupted savegames have been resolved and can now be loaded correctly.
Optimized performance when targeting attacks, particularly large AoEs.
Fixed an issue where companion game objects were not removed if they left the party on the World Map.
The player will no longer be returned to the main menu on transitioning to or from Nekataka.
Random encounters in Neketaka are guaranteed to appear after a certain number of transitions.
Party Members will no longer die when the player goes below deck on the ship.
Characters will no longer reaching 0 HP and become invincible when affected by certain effects.
The game no longer crashes on machines using Radeon graphics cards when the Beast of Winter destroys the bridge.
Fassina is present in the Dark Cupboard if the Forgotten Sanctum DLC is not installed.
Challenges
Maerwald will no longer summon a Vela Clone while on Hylea's Challenge.
Quests
Llengrath now remains in the Temple of Revelation after the events of the Forgotten Sanctum.
Llengrath stays in the Temple of Revelation after finishing The Forgotten Sanctum, preventing The Seeds of Deception blocker.
Starmetal can no longer be obtained if Bekarna's questline is failed.
Fixed issues with Bekarna's quest logic.
The Courier's Calling encounter no longer triggers without Maia in the party.
Text & VO
Various typos in Forgotten Sanctum have been resolved.
Mad Morena no longer requires passing a Bluff skill check to leave the conversation with her.
Ydwin no longer comments on events that are yet to happen.
The option to have Ydwin leave when discussing her condition now promptly causes her to leave your party.
The Watcher does not mention too early that Llengrath is a Fever of Spirits when talking with the Giant Luminescent Spore.
Choosing to give Wael's Body to Concelhaut will trigger the correct conversation.
The correct end choice will trigger after defeating Oracle and choosing the option to give Wael's body to Councelhaut.
Abilities
General
'Terrify' now contains a glossary link where applicable.
Attacks with extra AoEs (Citzal's Spirit Lance, Whispers of the Endless Paths) will now have correct recovery when used with attack abilities.
Wizard
Kalakoth's Freezing Rake hits only applies to Enemies as described.
Concelhaut's Parasitic Quarterstaff Recovery Time link has been modified and corrected.
Fighter
Black Jacket Fighters can take Rapid Recovery when leveling up.
Fixed an issue with description of Black Jacket ability displaying text not related to the skill.
Brilliant Tactician will no longer activate if there isn't an enemy present.
Ranger
Arcane Archer "Imbue" attacks will no longer show extra projectiles when used with certain weapons, such as the Hand Mortar.
Monk
Effects of Monk's "Turning Wheel" are no longer applied to damage other than melee.
Cipher
Beguiler bonus Focus will now be granted correctly if hitting multiple targets at the same time.
Beguiler Focus will regenerate properly.
Ciphers will receive focus for their first attack when attacking from stealth.
Priest
Salvation of Time can no longer be empowered, since it does not benefit from scaling.
Chanter
Prepared chants are now removed when respeccing a character.
Druid
Fixed a bug with Wall of Frost displaying 0 base penetration.
Items
Whispers of the Endless Paths' AoE Spells are no longer spamming attacks.
Last Word is no longer missing its statblock.
Slippers of the Assassin no longer deactivate if player kills two targets at the same time with an AoE ability.
Revelating Missiles no longer hits Allies as well as Enemies.
The Stormturner Cloak now has a description for users without the Seeker Slayer Survivor DLC.
Sound Effects
The wings of Drakes now no longer beat at a extremely loud volume.
Visual Effects
Wards have VFX when disappearing.
VFX comes from the correct source when using Garrote.
The VFX from Garrote originates from the correct hand.
Servant of the Stars now has casting VFX.
Brazier VFX have been corrected in the Scriptorium
Memory Hoarder soul sucking VFX stops correctly if you sneak up and attack before the conversation starts.
Candles in Collections Lower no longer lack flame VFX.
VFX will no longer appear through the walls in The Enclosures.
The Shimmering Dreambeast now has a visual Shimmering effect to reflect its Shimmerstep ability.
The Shimmering Dreambeast now has a proper effect upon finishing its Strike Through Dreams ability.
Misc
Attribute check icons in scripted interaction success/fail banners will be the correct size.
Fixed issue where World Map points of interest could not be interacted with.
Certain conversation prerequisites will no longer be incorrectly locked or unlocked in specific circumstances.
News on the Main Menu no longer displays out of date information.
The journal will no longer display incorrect data when opened the first time after loading a save.
Disarming traps with multiple characters will no longer give multiple trap items.
Doors to The Scriptorium and both wings of the Halls Obscured no longer remain locked if Tayn and Llengrath have been killed before the first encounter with the Oracle.
It is no longer possible to trigger the cutscene during combat with Tayn and Llengrath.
Maerwald's Soul Crush ability is no longer missing its string.
Soul Mirrors are named properly when only "Forgotten Sanctum" is installed.
Players will no longer be stuck in combat after a Save/Load if the Power Conduits were destroyed from stealth in the Oratory of Wael.
Books Puzzle will no longer be interactable after Spores opened door for the Watcher.
In the Hall of Reconfiguration, the Frightened Child's Imaginary Friends no longer bleed when struck with weapons.
Fog of war in several areas in the Restricted Section location has been adjusted.
Addressed issue where the Enchanted Armor in the Quarantined Section was remaining highlighted as an interactable when animated.
Servant of the Stars' death gives the Inspiration to the character as expected.
Walls and doors block Line of Sight correctly in the Hall of Reconfiguration.
Orlan Llengrath is displayed in the SI when appropriate.
Godlike Llengrath retains her Godlike model when entering the Temple of Revelation.
The Xaurips no longer become Hostile when opening their cage in the Collections, which prevented progression,
Luminescent Spore will correctly display a portrait when interacted with.
After completing the Rauatai Coup, the Watcher can find Netehe and return the Huana Tablet to her.
The Arcane Channel Destructibles do not have duplicates after loading a Heart of Mystery save.
Enemies and Companions in the Drowned Barrows will either become knocked out or die as is intended.
Combat no longer starts and ends a few times after having defeated Spider Swarm.
Vithrack Brute does not cast Echoing Shield or Pain Block if none of its allies are around.
The Northwestern most Artery Polyp in the Heart of Mystery can now be targeted for attack.
The Mouth Organs within the Enclosures now have their defensive stats fully visible.
Fixed a bug that was causing Lord Darryn's Voulge to be not obtainable if not picked up the first time the shipwreck encounter is triggered.
The secret doors in the Hall of Reconfiguration display properly after opening them regardless of stealth or un-stealthed.
Added soulbound sketch to The Weyc's Wand.
Fyonlecg will no longer introduce Memory Hoarder twice.
The camera will now focus correctly when Modwyr speaks in dialogue.

These Patch notes contain spoilers: Resolved issues:
Removed the progression-breaking autosave before meeting Llengrath at the beginning of LAX03.
Italian and Spanish languages now display God Challenge text.
Starting a conversation with Fetid Spray while wearing Arkemyr's Robes does not repeat giving the instructions to the player.
Llengrath encounter to start The Forgotten Sanctum DLC can no longer start during a storm.
NPC ships on the world map will be placed back in the sea if they get stuck inland.
Forbidden Fist Curse Damage when stacked is calculates as expected.
Player's can now turn in Seeds of Deception to Llengrath and only Llengrath when they receive the quest from her.
Izzia now appears for anyone who had previously spoken with her. New playthroughs will require the party to complete a specific encounter before she will appear in Periki's Overlook.
Known issues:
Ydwin lines in Forgotten Sanctum are missing VO
Player cannot provide Llengrath with the Modified Annals of Llengrath once she has moved into the Scriptorium. Work Around: Complete the quest Root and Branch prior to completing whichever wing of the Halls Obscured you decide to do second.

Fixed characters with certain dual-weapon loadouts not using their off-hand attack.
Weapons will no longer disappear after the user levels up the equipped character.
Essence Interrupter bow will no longer prevent Hauani O Whe from dividing.
Users who installed certain localization mods and do not own Seeker, Slayer, Survivor can load their savegames again.
The Valian term Sérre now has the proper accent and a tooltip explaining its usage in dialogue.
Aloth will not mention Animancers if player has yet to encounter them on The Painted Masks quest.

New Features & Updates
UI Simplification
Changes to how some UI displays and the ability to customize some of the UI in and out of combat to provide a better experience for both. Dropdowns to control the UI can be found within the Options Menu.
Hauani O Whe Mega Boss - A new Mega Boss can now be challenged! This colossal Ooze is prepared to face some of the strongest teams that dare brave it!
Can be found on an island between Dunnage and Fort Deadlight.
Spell Shaping
Spell shaping is available for the Wizard, Druid, Priest, and Chanter classes! This passive ability allows spell casters to adjust the radius of certain AoE spells to increase the power level or area that the spell can reach!
Magran's Fire Difficulty Additions
All Challenges can now be done on any difficulty in the game! Play through with new challenges for a new, interesting game experience!
New Berath's Blessings
...Can I Pet Him Anyway? - Allows Eder to equip a pet!
Infamous Past - Gain the Infamous Captain passive ability, as if you had survived a mutiny.
+3 Intimidate, +5% Damage, Lower level Kith enemies may become Terrified at the beginning of combat. This will not award any achievements tied to mutinies.
Premade Characters
Characters can now be imported to use on various playthroughs through Deadfire. Characters can be chosen in character creation, or by visiting taverns and recruiting them as Adventurers.
Hylea and Rymrgand Challenges - Hylea and Rymrgand Challenges make their way into the Magran's Challenges!
Hylea - Vela joins the adventure and must be protected at all costs or the adventure is over! She does not take a party slot and does not attack during combat.
Rymrgand - Food now lasts for a small duration before decaying and expiring from use.
Path of the Damned Endgame Tuning
Path of the Damned has been reworked to give a better experience for mid- and high-level end-game content. Can you survive the increased difficulty with your party?
Resolved Issues
Swapping party members will spawn them near the Watcher as expected.
Players can no longer select blessings in challenge mode using a specific workaround.
The save button no longer becomes unclickable when attempting to create a save.
Quests for Seeker, Slayer, Survivor show the appropriate difficulty level in the Journal.
Figurines and items that have charges do not recharge at the end of combat or after rest, as intended.
Hired Adventurers now start with the correct engagement value when they are recruited.
Sacred Immolation no longer incorrectly gets 20% increased damage from Sworn Enemy.
Riposte no longer causes abilities such as Eternal Devotion to deal no damage.
Performing a Save/Load cycle near the aura-granting Paladin while on the ship no longer causes the aura to remain on the player indefinitely.
Characters exported to Steam Workshop are set to be visible to public by default.
Character Inspection window has been adjusted to a smaller font based on player feedback.
Mod load order can be changed without issue.
Completing Tasks in Seeker, Slayer, Survivor now awards significantly more experience.
The Chanter Bar now correctly changes when the UI changes.
Brilliant now restores resources every 6 seconds instead of every 3 seconds.
Added Vocalization to Call of Rymrgand priest spell.
Removed null game data reference from Overbearing Guard.
Kalakoth's Sunless Grasp now displays its Frost keyword on its stat block.
Kalakoth's Freezing Rake now displays its Frost keyword on its ability stat block.
Seven Nights She Waited and The Tears Falling Like Rain now display their Frost keywords on their ability stat block.

"Raw" is no longer a linked entry in the Journal.
Wizard spells in the Trickster ability tree now display correctly.

Three Bells Through and Mechanical Marvel will now fire in a line when their projectile count is adjusted.
Veilpiercer and St. Omaku's Mercy base damage now correctly matches a War Bow's expected damage.
Ukaizo Guardian will no longer progress through his phases out of order.
Dragon Scales no longer hides itself from all UI and will only hide from the combat tooltip.
Fixed an issue where Belranga wouldn't use her screech unless someone was nearby.
Grave Calling and Hel Beckoning Freeze/Corrode procs now correctly only apply their procs to attacks made with these weapons.
Muwatu no longer respawns during the Humaire conversation when soul is infused with the Beast's essence.
The Arena Warden's portrait and character model for Beast of Winter now match.
Players can no longer Save/Load to avoid Arena fights for Seeker, Slayer, Survivor.
The Life in Death passive ability is no longer usable during SI checks as intended.
The Watcher will not be treated as a companion during SIs in Kazuwari.
Companions will now bark before Seeker, Slayer, Survivor arena content.
Pickpocketing Mokeha for Rinco's coinpurse does not leave the item in the player's inventory when completing the Burning Bridges quest.
Survivor's Tusk now levels up correctly; affected players will have to unequip the item for it to change.
Watcher Vision VFX does not end prematurely if Humaire's Spirit is encountered.
Engari's conversation for Artifacts now triggers as expected for all Player choices.
The Flimsy Bridge SI will no longer display skill check values of 0.
Fixed Vela not entering her combat state under some conditions on the Hylea challenge.
Kua's Head can now be given to Ruasare on the Cruel Cargo questline.
Players will no longer get stuck in the SI during the fleet battle on any of their decisions through it.
Xoti will no longer hold your hand out of character if the player is not in a relationship with her.
Potions of Plenty now updates properly with the correct quest rewards Bubbling Chalice and Least Unstable Coil.
Player can no longer repeatedly loot bodies in the Hauani O Whe Megaboss encounter map.
Players should now be able to complete A Dance With Death on the Aeldys questline.
