After all the effort that has gone into creating all the routes, sessions and content included in TRS19, it’s a shame that at this early stage we’ve received a few negative reviews from people who, it appears, haven’t installed the full version of the game.

To clarify what is included in the product, there are six routes as follows:

We know, based upon the many, many hours of play logged by thousands of fans over the past ~20 years, that Trainz has a lot to offer. However, there are many more thousands of people out there who haven’t discovered the world of Trainz (yet), and we need your help to let them know what it is all about.

We know that there are many more people enjoying Trainz than we have reviews, so we encourage each of you reading this to write a short review (or a long one if you like) to help people new to Trainz to discover everything there is to offer.

DLC (Downloadable Content) appears to be a very contentious subject in the world of train simulators.

Unlike other games, where DLC items are often required to "compete" (either via power or just looking the part), in a train sim, it is much more about expanding your experience with your favourite DLC loco/route/region. And since everyone has a different favourite, it means that there needs to be a LOT of DLC on offer to provide something for everyone.

Just as Apple doesn't list the total cost of all songs or apps in iTunes, in the same manner, no-one expects anyone to buy all the Trainz DLC listed on the Steam Store. You can think of the full list of DLC items as just one big "store" where you browse and pick the items you're interested in, while ignoring the majority of items that aren't your cup of tea (just like when you visit iTunes).

Another point often raised is the cost of the DLC items. The cost is related to the enormous amount of work that is required to make the items, along with the obvious "niche" train sim community following. Without a market of millions of players to buy all the various items, an individual DLC can sometimes look expensive.

Almost all the content in Trainz is made by people just like you - Trainz Community members. To help lower the prices on the DLC and still ensure that our content creators are rewarded for their efforts, we've put together a large range of bundles that offer 40 to 75% off, making it that much easier to access more DLC for less.

When you click on a DLC item you will see which Bundles it is also included in. The price shown to you is for the remaining items in the bundle that aren't already in your collection.

Don't forget also that Trainz has a HUGE range of free-to-download content on the Trainz Download Station (DLS). There are literally hundreds to top quality routes, and thousands of locos to add to your collection without spending a penny (although we do encourage you to grab a First Class Ticket, which you can do for free this week by visiting your MyTrainz page).

To find DLS content, use the new Main Menu in-game filter, or open Content Manager and filter on Download Station, then begin to search and explore.

We're letting you all know that the Steam version has been in review for 5 days (and usually it takes only a day or two to review). Maybe the team are having too much fun checking out all the content and new graphics ;).

Price will be USD$69.99 which includes:

So just for the content that works out to roughly:
* $5 per route
* $0.50 per session
* $0.10 cents per loco, and
* $0.02 cents per wagon
* 16,000 more items free!

You can choose to download all, or just as many of these built-in routes as you like using our in-game Asset Download system. These are not part of the "Trainz Download Station" and therefore not subject to download limits.

There is no discount for Trainz A New Era owners, but any TANE built-in content and DLC content you own will be available to download free in-game into TRS19.
