German Destroyers: Part 2
Features of the Ship Branch
Accurate main battery guns with a large caliber for this ship type—150 mm.
Powerful AP shells with decent penetration, damage, and enhanced shell ricochet angles. They are capable of dealing significant damage to cruisers.
Good armor for their type, which effectively protects them against the HE shells of most destroyers (unless they have mastered the Inertia Fuse for HE Shells skill), as well as large HP pools. Combined with their effective artillery, this results in special gameplay for the new German destroyers. They are essentially agile ships that primarily focus on lone targets—light cruisers in particular.
The low damage per minute of their HE shells and their high detectability means that these new ships are quite ineffective when fighting for control of Key Areas.
The Smoke Generator consumable improves the already good survivability of the new ships even further. Starting from Tier IX, German destroyers have the Defensive AA Fire consumable, which allows them to counter enemy aircraft with greater confidence.
Despite their torpedoes' slow speed and pretty standard reload time for most destroyers, they can deal heavy damage and have good range.
Early Access
German destroyers VII Z-31 and VIII Gustav Julius Maerker, which hit the seas in Early Access with the release of Update 0.10.3, continue to be available in consecutive bundles at the Armory. IX Felix Schultz can be found in random bundles that are available in exchange for Doubloons in the Armory. [expand style=more][/expand] During Update 0.10.4, German Tokens can be found in bundles that are available in the Armory. These Tokens can be spent until the end of Update 0.10.4. At the end of the update, they will be exchanged for Credits at the rate of 1:2,100.
When Update 0.10.5 goes live, German Tier VII–X destroyers will be available for all players to research.
Battle of the Beasts
Starts: Thu. 20 May 09:30 CEST (UTC+2) Ends: Wed. 16 Jun. 03:30 CEST (UTC+2)
During Update 0.10.4, you can take part in the new "Battle of Beasts" temporary event, which is inspired by German folklore. Join one of four teams to complete missions and earn rewards!
Key Rules
The event is divided into four stages, with each stage running for 1 week.
Before starting each stage, you can choose one of four teams:
Welthund: a huge black dog with a sole big eye on its forehead.
Feuerputz: a demon that can take various guises. Most often, it appears as a flaming skeleton or horseman.
Glühschwanz: a night ghost in the guise of a dragon.
Lindwurm: a wingless creature with a dragon's head and a serpentine body.
Event participants are issued special missions throughout each day. Completing the missions will progress you through personal and team milestones.
The missions can be completed playing Tier V–X ships in Random, Co-op, and Ranked Battles.
Progress is reset to zero at the beginning of each next stage.
All players who have reached Access Level 8 can participate in the event.
You'll earn rewards by reaching specific personal and team progress milestones.
[expand style=more][/expand] The missions are only available during a certain time period each day.
Starts: 09:30 CEST (UTC+2)Ends: 03:30 CEST (UTC+2)
The rewards include themed patches, flags, and 10-skill-point Commanders, as well a new temporary resource—Beast Tokens . You can exchange these Tokens for various in-game items in the Armory, including Battle of Jutland and German Destroyers containers. A Battle of Jutland container can drop III König Albert or V Agincourt, the "To Honor Skagerrak" and Jutland Veteran permanent camouflages for these ships, or other rewards. German Destroyers containers can drop signals, expendable camouflages, and elements of the eponymous collection.
You'll find a detailed description of the new event in a dedicated article. Stay tuned for more news on our website!
You will also be able to earn one of each new commander by completing missions obtainable through special Twitch Drops. Stay tuned for a dedicated article with more details.
German Destroyers Collection
This collection is dedicated to German destroyers and will inform you about the history of ships of this type, as well as the people who served on them. The collection consists of four sections, with four elements in each.
[expand style=more][/expand] Rewards for completing the sections:1 day of Warships Premium Account for each section. Rewards for completing the entire collection: include an Iron Cross permanent camouflage for VIII Gustav Julius Maerker and a flag of the "German Destroyers: Part 2" event.
Elements of the collection can only be obtained from German Destroyers containers.
You can get a free German Destroyers container in a special article that's dedicated to the collection. Stay tuned for more news on our website!
Auction
With the launch of Update 0.10.4, we're adding a new way to obtain in-game items. We call it the "auction"—you can participate in it and compete with other players to obtain rare goodies. It represents a great additional way to stock up on desirable items and resources.
Key Rules
Each auction has a limited duration.
It comprises the following stages:
The available lot for the auction is announced. Its starting price and number of possible bid winners are announced at the same time.
The auction begins and bids are placed.
Bidding ends. The results of the auction are summed up.
The auction winners receive their rewards, while the unsuccessful auction participants receive their bids back.
You can change your bid amount at any time, provided that bidding for that lot is still active.
The number of lots is limited. The highest bids win.
Information will be provided about the starting bid for each lot and the number of possible winners.
Depending on the lot, you can place various in-game resources as your bid.
After the results are calculated, the highest bids win. If the bids are tied, the bids that were made earliest win. The time when the last bid change was made is also taken into account.
It's a no-risk adventure! Any bid that doesn't win will be returned to the bidder when the auction closes.
For example, if there is a lot for 500 commemorative flags, the 500 players with the highest and earliest bids will each receive one flag. All other bids will be returned to the participating players' accounts.
[expand style=more][/expand]
Auction in Update 0.10.4
Starts:Fri. 28 May 14:00 CEST (UTC+2) Ends: Mon. 31 May 14:00 CEST (UTC+2)
The number of winners and starting bid amounts are the same for the CIS, EU, NA and ASIA World of Warships servers.
Changes to Commander skills
In Update 0.10.4, we've changed the following skills:
Cruiser skills
Survivability Expert:
HP bonus for each ship tier increased from 350 to 450.
HP bonus of the enhanced skill increased from 400 to 500.
Destroyer skills
Extra-Heavy AP Shells:
Bonus applied to main battery AP shells increased from 5% to 7.5%.
Fearless Brawler:
Ship detectability penalty removed.
Aircraft carrier skills
Enhanced Reactions:
25% penalty to the action time of the Patrol Fighters and Interceptor consumables replaced with a 25% bonus.
Battleship skills
Super-Heavy AP Shells:
Bonus applied to main battery AP shells increased from 5% to 7.5%.
Penalty applied to fire-extinguishing time and flooding recovery time reduced from 30 to 25%.
Dead Eye
The Dead Eye skill is replaced with the Swift in Silence skill, giving battleships a 10% speed increase while the ship remains undetected.
The parameters of these skills were inferior to other same-price skills in terms of combat efficiency, which affected their popularity.
The replacement of these skills adds more options for battleships in terms of positioning, and allows them to engage in combat or change position more rapidly during a skirmish. When Update 0.10.4 goes live, all Commanders with the Dead Eye skill already mastered will have their battleship skills reset free of charge. Skills associated with other ship types will not be reset.

We've updated the interface to make navigating through the Achievements section, as well as tracking progress in the game, more comfortable:
Updated the appearance of the Achievements screen.
Added categories and updated the sorting of achievements.
Updated pop-up tooltips in the Port and for post-battle statistics.
Having updated the section, we'll be able to add more achievements to the game in future.
Changed the conditions for obtaining rewards for achievements. They will be replaced by weekly chains of combat missions for Base XP in victorious battles. The missions can be completed in Ranked, Random, and Co-op Battles, as well as in Operations and Brawls. This will allow you to replenish your signals in most battles. At the same time, the mission conditions have different difficulties. For instance, you could win often in Co-op battles for less XP per battle, or achieve the same result by winning fewer Random or Ranked battles for more XP per battle.
Two combat mission chains are available to you:
The first comprises three missions with the same condition. You must earn 2,500 Base XP in victorious battles. Reward: up to three More Signals containers and one Gift container.
The second includes five missions with the same condition. You must earn 5,000 Base XP in victorious battles. Reward: up to five More Signals containers and two Gift containers.

Armory
From May 28, VIII Tiger '59 will become available in the Armory. She's one of the last artillery cruisers of the Royal Navy, armed with four rapid-firing 152 mm guns in two turrets with a high traverse speed. Her main battery guns have high-arcing ballistics and fire only AP shells. Tiger '59 has low detectability, decent maneuverability, and a large set of consumables—Specialized Repair Teams, Surveillance Radar, Smoke Generator, and Defensive AA Fire. The ship will be available for 11,300[/b] Doubloons. From June 4, VI Ise—the first hybrid in World of Warships—will become available in the Armory. She carries eight rapid-firing 356 mm guns with a good reach. The primary unique feature of Ise is her torpedo bomber squadron. The battleship also has a decent HP pool. She will be available for 6,800[/b] Doubloons. The new Ice Wyrm permanent camouflage for X Shikishima has been added and made available in exchange for 3 Clan Tokens.
When Update 0.10.5 goes live, VI Erich Loewenhardt, VII Nelson, VI T-61, VII Haida, VII Z-39, VIII Asashio, VI Admiral Graf Spee, and VIII Lenin will cease to be available. The ships will be taken out of the game due to a combination of their popularity and combat efficiency. To maintain the proper level of diversity in teams in terms of the ships they are made up of, these ships will no longer be available to obtain for an indefinite period of time, but they may return in future.
Content Additions and Changes
Added the following permanent camouflages: "Jutland Veteran" for V Agincourt, "To Honor Skagerrak" for III König Albert, "Remember Jutland" for VIII Tiger '59, and Baltic Strip for VII Weimar. Added the Battle of Jutland expendable camouflage. Added The Battle of Skagerrak, The Hunt for Bismarck, General-Admiral—Commander-in-Chief of the Kriegsmarine, and German Destroyers: Part 2 flags, as well as Battle of Jutland, The Battle of Skagerrak, The Hunt for Bismarck, Tiger, and Weimar patches. Added the World of Warships: The Beautiful Game flag and patch.
Details on how to get these items will be announced later.
The following ships have been added for testing by developers, supertesters, and community contributors: I Van Kinsbergen, II Gelderland, III Java, IV De Ruyter, V Celebes, VI Kijkduin, VII Eendracht, VIII Haarlem, IX Johan de Witt, X Gouden Leeuw, VIII De Zeven Provinciën, and VIII Congress.
Airstrike—a new armament type—was added. Due to its status as a new mechanic, the concept behind this armament may change significantly as testing progresses.
All aircraft called in with Airstrike are currently armed with HE bombs. Such aircraft will be effective at medium ranges and drop bombs over an area that's similar in size to two battleships. At the same time, the aircraft do not require direct control, unlike those launched from aircraft carriers.

A special bundle is available in the Armory with two new ships—VIII HSF Harekaze II and V HSF Hiei—as well as the unique M119 and S120 permanent camouflages for X Yamato and IX Musashi, respectively, plus other in-game items.
If deemed necessary, balance changes may be applied to VIII HSF Harekaze II and V HSF Hiei.
The Premium Shop and Armory offer a bundle with ships VIII HSF Harekaze and VI HSF Admiral Graf Spee; the Y118 permanent camouflage for IX Musashi; the HSF ISOROKU permanent camouflage for HSF Harekaze; and other in-game items, including the Type 10 alternative permanent camouflages for HSF Harekaze and HSF Admiral Graf Spee.
VIII HSF Harekaze is a Japanese destroyer from the High School Fleet anime series. Powerful, long-range torpedoes in combination with good concealment allow the ship to carry out devastating surprise attacks, while the availability of several artillery armament variants allows the destroyer to determine her own fighting style.
VI HSF Admiral Graf Spee is a German cruiser from the High School Fleet anime series. This German Navy heavy cruiser was known as a "pocket battleship". She bristles with battleship-sized main guns and has a strong HP pool, effective secondary battery, and the Repair Party consumable. Like conventional cruisers, she has torpedoes and a choice between the Hydroacoustic Search or Defensive AA Fire consumables at her disposal. Thus, a wide variety of gameplay options are open to HSF Admiral Graf Spee.
Apart from a large bundle with VIII HSF Harekaze II and V HSF Hiei, these ships can be purchased in the Armory together with Port slots and combat missions that grant +200% XP per battle.
VIII HSF Harekaze II is a Japanese destroyer armed with 150 mm guns—an unusual feature for this ship type—that fire HE and AP shells with high damage characteristics. The ship is also equipped with the Hydroacoustic Search consumable. Owing to the low detectability and high damage of her torpedoes, the ship's primary gameplay involves stealthy torpedo attacks.
V HSF Hiei is a fast battleship armed with eight 356 mm guns that fire HE and AP shells with decent damage characteristics. The ship also boasts a large HP pool and very long firing range for her tier, but has low accuracy and high detectability.

The High School Fleet Anime Series
A century ago, most of Japan’s territory was submerged as a result of plate subduction. One after another, Coastal Cities began to emerge in order to preserve the remaining landmass—thus, seaborne routes became more important and their protection became a crucial issue.
Meanwhile, service in the Navy became highly popular among women and a special division for keeping the sea safe, the Blue Mermaids, was created.
The main protagonists of the anime series, childhood friends Akeno Misaki and Moeka China, enrolled in Yokosuka Girls’ Marine High School together with various other girls to become a part of the famous elite unit.
Akeno Misaki was assigned as captain of training destroyer Harekaze, and Moeka took up the captain’s post on battleship Musashi. The series starts when both warships set off for their first maritime exercises. However, what should have been standard training soon turns out to be a real battle.
