Soon, this year will end. And what a great year it was! We spent it together, perfecting ATOM through your suggestions and observations. The game became larger, much more polished and user friendly. It’s all thanks to you.
We want to close this wonderful year just like we spent it. That means posting another pack of bugfixes (see changelog below) and a little something for those of you who liked our previous in-game events. This time it’s a winter-themed one, where you will set out into the inhospitable Mountain Pass of Woes to eradicate a tribe of malformed, mutated snowmen for a chance to get new items including two fun little weapons and some hats.
As always, if in-game events aren’t your thing and you want to keep your game well away from such light-hearted additions, you can simply turn off the festive content with a single mouse click in the menu as shown below.
Thank you for a year of helpful feedback. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year! Let all of your wishes come true! As for us, we have only one wish: Let there be ATOM!

Today, we would like to share with you the version 1.1096 patch and some news about the Atom RPG translation project.
Ever since our game hit Steam, many players asked us to translate it into their native languages. However, due to the sheer amount of text in the game and therefore exorbitant translator fees, this endeavor was never possible for our small team.
But then, some of our players, who specialized in certain languages contacted us and offered their help, and asked us only for what our team could provide.
Here’s the status of their works:
Chinese translation by the amazing "游侠LMAO汉化组" is fully complete.
Three translations are 30% to 50% complete: Polish, made with the help of Ganchuk and a translator that doesn’t have a Steam thread. French, made by the team that can be found here: LINK. German, made by the team which can be found here: LINK.
Three more translations were recently started: Turkish by (Engin, Anıl Kalkan, Raynor), Italian by Dark Legend and Japanese by JS.
We are very thankful to you all!
It is important to note, that since none of us speaks any of the aforementioned languages, we really cannot tell the translation quality. We also do not know the release dates for upcoming translations. These are fan-driven projects, and the teams work in their spare time. However, judging by our interactions with our various translation teams, they are goal-set, hard working folks, and we’re almost sure they’ll do great. We never hoped for such an amazing amount of help from our players.
Now, the changelog for the patch:
Item duplication bug fixed;
Overload bug fixed;
Spelling errors found by players fixed;
Misc. item description typos fixed;
Minor overworld map animation issues fixed;
Very rare sound freezing on global map bug fixed;
Fixed a very rare crash in Peregon.
Thank you for sticking with us and let there be ATOM!
Today, we wish to share with you the work we’ve done on Atom RPG’s standalone addon Trudograd so far.
An uncommon point of view for our game, but it demonstrates the new abilities of our engine well.
Here is some concept art for the game. We rely on it when creating new locations.
As you know, we love to create small details that increase the atmosphere of the game. Therefore, the visuals are very important to us.
Trudograd is a large and rich city. Well, at least some people living in it are rich. These folks have custom made homes on the roofs of the overcrowded flat blocks.
We’ll end with something very special. With something you asked us to make for a very long time. Trudograd will feature a powerful exoskeleton armor suit.
Note: the design as well as the visual looks of the suit might change. WIP.
Work on the standalone addon continues as we speak.
Thank you for checking out our progress. And let there be ATOM!
Good mourning, friends… The time has come for yet another patch to be uploaded. And with it - a small surprise, to commemorate this year’s All Hallow’s Eve. From October 28th, ‘till November 1st, you will have a chance to encounter enemies with unique pumpkin helmets, or battle endless waves of bloodthirsty mutant freaks that crave for your succulent flesh in another encounter we developed (only for level 10 of higher characters). While we really hope that you’ll enjoy this spooktacular festive addition, we also get how weird Halloween themed events look in a game about former USSR, where no such holiday ever existed. If this content ruins your immersion, you can turn it off in the main menu.
Also, we added an option that makes informational pop-ups appear above the character’s head. It is off by default, but you can turn it on in the options menu.
Fangs for sticking with us, and let there be BLOOD!... I mean ATOM! Stay spooky!
The horrifying changelog of doom and devilry:
Fixed a ghastly bug which allowed characters to phase through trucks and carts;
Dzhulbars got an armor fix to stand a better chance against blood-starved beasts;
Wind now moves grass and other plants bug-free and with deadly precision;
Artemyev’s dialogue fixed;
Skill points can now be added en masse by holding the left mouse button on “+” on the character screen;
The Woodpecker’s quest ending fixed;
Lesser bugs obliterated;
Newly discovered typos and translation errors snuffed out;
Hello, friends! Here's another small patch to fix the bugs we found last time. Along these fixes we're posting eight new weapon mods you, our community, has asked for. There is now a way to modify your weapon through found parts. Thank you for continuing to give us great ideas! Let there be ATOM!
Changelog: - Added 8 new modifications for some weapons; - Better grass graphics; - Character animation bugs (rare) - Added camera positioning in dialogues; - New point marker added; - Rare bug with item count fixed; - Isometric mode cutscene bug fixed; - Sand storm's effect on character fixed; - F and V keys now zoom camera in and out; - New animations for wolves; - And many more minor fixes.
It is time to publish yet another large patch for the game. This time around we fixed all of the new bugs the community found, as well as optimized the soundscape, left handed person accessibility, and controller support for the game.
Also, we added the new camera mode to the game, that puts the view into isometric projection. This mode is a new feature we are developing for the Trudograd standalone expansion, but we just couldn’t stop ourselves from adding it into the original game as well, both for testing purposes and because we think you just might like it. The mode can be toggled from the menu.
Speaking of Trudograd, the development is going swimmingly. The standalone expansion now features 20+ characters, with unique portraits and dialogues, 10+ quests, a new mob enemy, and a few new mechanics. You can follow our work at our social media accounts if you want:
Today is the day we publish the 1.108 patch. However, bugfixes which are listed below, are not everything this new version holds. We also supplied it with the first iteration of gamepad compatibility, just like some of you asked us! After the update installs, press any gamepad button on the main menu screen, or pick the controller in the options menu to activate it.
Work on Trudograd continues, and soon we'll update you all with screenshots and info about the standalone addon.

Finally the moment has come, when our game ATOM RPG is completely finished. In this update we balanced out melee weapons, added to the enemy AI, finalized all of the quests that were left unsolved in the previous update. The main thing, however, is the change of Dead City into a place full of new, unique characters with their own stories and quests. The map is now filled with points of interest and new locations. To see the list of all changes, scroll to the end of this post now.
We would like to use this post mostly to thank you all for the motivation, unique ideas, kind words of praise and endless support. We told this to you multiple times now, yet these words never lost their sincerity and meaning for us: without you, there would be no game, especially of this magnitude. You, our dear players, are the ones who shaped it starting with Kickstarter and the Early Access versions.
This final version of the game is truly your achievement, as much as it is ours.
And the work doesn’t stop here. Our next project will be a stand-alone add-on to the game, code-named Trudograd. It will hopefully hit Steam later this year. Until that time, we will share news of porting Atom to other platforms, translating it to other languages, and of course the development process of the new add-on.
Thank you for being with us, and we really hope that you will continue this journey we got planned out.
Let there be ATOM!
