At long last, it happened! Finally the moment came, when we can finally say that ATOM RPG is complete! Honestly, it’s hard for us to believe it happened so fast, in just a bit more than a year’s time. The main reason for this amazing growth from a two hour long Kickstarter beta to a game that makes some players lose themselves for 100+ hours, is in you - our awesome players.
It was very hard at times, but we managed, thanks to the advice you gave, the trust you put in us, the constant support you blessed us with. These are not empty words, when we say that ATOM is our game, but it’s also yours.
Now let’s see what we have accomplished together:
ATOM is a Fallout and Wasteland inspired RPG that became something more or less original and independant as it was developed. It’s completely non-linear. It features more than 450+ NPC characters, each with a unique portrait, a branching dialogue and his or her own place in the world’s structure.
ATOM has various endings and various paths to reach them with. The system of perks, skills and traits will let you create any character type you can imagine, be it a brawler or a traveling intellectual.
ATOM now features more than 250 unique quests of all shapes and sizes - from simple to epic, from partially hidden to in-your-face obvious.
It has 90+ different locations, scattered around three global maps. It holds 100+ types of weapons, 30+ types of enemies, and even a car. A lot is possible in this living world, the fate of which largely depends on your gameplay choices.
And the best thing is this: We’re not letting go of this world just yet. After this release, there will be plenty more content to come in the shape of free DLCs and patches!

It’s time to make a very important announcement! After a year of work spent in Early Access we can finally name the release date for ATOM RPG! It’s going to be the 19th of december, 2018, when we’ll finish polishing the game mechanics, testing of new content, error fixing, and will finalize the main questline of the game.
The fact that we’re releasing the game, though, does not mean that we’re stopping development. ATOM is still going to receive a lot of free additional content way after the release date.
Now, a quick summary of the things you’ll be getting in 1.0:
We added a third global map that was needed to finish the game’s main storyline. It’s a place called the “Dead city” - a forgotten, mutant-ridden metropolis that was destroyed by nuclear warheads. After this place was finished, we loved it so much, we’re currently planning on expanding it in future updates! Hope you’ll enjoy it too!
We added new NPCs and quests.
An ability to roam the Wastes in a car of your own!
New dungeons including an experimental-AI-run secret Bunker.
New traits available on character creation.
New cinematic that will show off how you impacted the Wasteland.
And last, but not least… As we the developers, and you, the players, already know, this game we dreamt of creating for all those years, would never be possible without your trust. This is why we decided to add a bonus “veteran’s kit” for all who bought and played ATOM while it was still Early Access. Thank you for believing in us.

A lot of people have been asking - when we will see ATOM? Will it be this year or the next one? Now, we don’t want to ignore our community so here is a small informational post about what we are up to right now.
First of all - the game will come out in the end of December, 2018, no second thoughts about it! Right now we can’t say the exact date, but we will say it in out traditional pre-update post that will come out in the next week. We will use this time to focus on all the new features and quests which there are many! Although, testing the new content, bug fixes and finalizing the new content is not everything that we still need to do.
Aside from that we are also working on adding some of the hottest features that you, the players, asked for! For example, now you can check your dialogue history in the game, use your items on the characters without starting a dialogue, zoom out the camera further and change the game options without quitting to the main menu.
There's a lot of work, but we are even more determined to finish it! :) And here are some of the screenshots of the new locations. We wouldn’t want it to be just some boring ol’ text update now do we!..
Finally, it’s time for yet another large update, 0.9!
This time around we made another huge step towards the finish line, which we, hopefully, will soon cross. While the previous update had the most new characters, this one will feature the largest amount of text, quests and new ways to solve old assignments!
After this huge leap, we only have one grand update remaining, after which ATOM RPG will officially leave the Early Access stage. Yes, that’s right! Release version 1.0 is going to be out this December!
Speaking of which… Like we already stated before, after the Release version 1.0 hits Steam in a month from now, old savegame files will lose compatibility and a total wipe will happen. This is, unfortunately, required due to various technical nuances. But believe us, we’ll add enough cool new stuff, so that even the most hardcore of our players will find restarting the game a fun new experience!
But let us return to the update we got in store for you today. In it we continued to fill the world with brand new characters, unique stories, and interesting quests. We added new people to both new and old locations. We continued our work on game mechanics and the AI. We added new sounds and visual effects. And of course, we fixed a whole lot of bugs.
The only bad part (which already became an ATOM tradition) is this: The English translation lagged a bit and is only 90% ready. It means that while you will be able to meet almost every new character and do almost any new quest already today, some others will have that nasty gibberish instead of proper dialogues… This will be fixed in three days or less, we promise. For now, just avoid the new dungeon and you won’t even notice the problem. We are very sorry for the inconvenience.

Now that the journey is almost over, we cannot thank you, our players, enough for sticking with us for all this time. We’re almost there, because of you!
We are continuing our work on a new version, designated 0.9. Here are the major features of this update, that’s gonna hit November 14th:

As you can see, the bulk of the work went into making the locations even more settled, by adding new interactive NPC, quests, and so on. We are also continuing to polish the game mechanics AI and buggy features before the release. For the release date is almost upon us…
We made a promise to you and we intend to keep it! In the release version of the game you will have an opportunity to get this beauty in your garage - GAZ SG-1 (Pobeda Sport). A real beast of the Soviet automobile manufacturing! Of course, it won't be easy, but we will try our best to make it a worthwhile venture for you :)
Our work on another large update, numbered 0.8.5. has finally reached it’s end and we are ready to upload it for your enjoyment! What has been done this time? Well, like we said in the announcement, we are continuing to liven up the locations with new characters, some of which aren’t just ready to tell you their stories, but also ask for your help in various side-quests. A huge work has been done with the crafting system - we added new recipes for not only firearms but meds as well. Lots of hours were spent behind the stage, where we again tinkered with some of the mechanics to further balance out the game. Also, we have made clothes change possible - you can finally get rid of that sweater for something more fitting your playstyle!
Change log:
- Locations filled with 60+ new characters (look for them in Krasnoznamenny, Peregon, Fogelevka and some other places) - New crafting recipes. Hey guys! Here's a patch to finalize the 0.8 update of the game for our English speaking audience. This fix comes with several changes.
- The translation is now complete, with just a few in-game books left untranslated (which is going to be fixed soon). Thank you for waiting! - New portraits finally added into the game. Last time we had so many new characters, we didn't have the time to liven them all up with unique portraits. We sure fixed that now! - A few bugs our community managed to find since we posted the update - enemy shield usage bug, trader stock renewal bug, low setting glitches bug, "Manhunter" skill now only works with aimed shots, Journalist quest now working fine. - Physical borders for the Bunker 317 and bunker levels added. - New crafting recipes now in stock. - Now your hero can follow the NPC if the NPC is walking when you try to initiate a conversation. - Fixed the Abilities menu. - A lot of dialogue bugs are fixed. - Fixed the pricing, depending on your Barter skill. - A lot of minor (and not so minor) bugs in the Bandit Factory location are now fixed.
