Warhammer: Vermintide 2 - [Fatshark] Aqshy
it's slaying time once again! The Onslaught Tournament Series kicks off the third year of their community-run tournaments, for those brave enough to compete and strut their stuff, with prizes up for grabs, to boot!

The sign-up period has started and will last until two days before game weekend (until 12th of May, 12PM CEST).

Maps will be announced on the 29th of April and practice period starts until the 14th of May. The tournament officially begins at 6PM CEST.

Sign-ups are to be done on the Onslaught Series Discord. All tournament rules and details will also be found there.

Format changes:
This time around, some significant changes were made according to feedback and previous tournaments.
  • Tier 1 will now be C3DWONS. Tier 2 will be C3DWONS+. Tier 3 will be Dutch Spicy but only as a clout tier, no prize pool is allocated to this tier and your team can't be forced to compete in this tier, though anyone can compete in it.
  • C1 is hereby removed as a tournament difficulty, which means T3 prizes are moved down to T2. This change was made due to the performance of participants in past tourneys. The tiers will continue to be monitored as the community continues to improve.
  • The Tourney Balance mod is required for all participants of the OTS, the link is available on the discord.
Attempts:
Teams of four players have three hours to complete four maps in a specific order.
Changes:
Attempts per map will no longer be limited to three. Maps can be attempted an unlimited number of times within the three hour timeframe. However, after 3 tries you will get the least amount of points possible. It is still 0 points for forfeited maps.

  2. Tier 2 (Cata 3 Deathwish Onslaught+) games: 15th of May, 6 PM - 9 PM CEST

Patch 4.6.4 is out to crush a bunch of the issues introduced in 4.6 last week.

If you aren't up to speed on the fixes so far, or the changes in patch 4.6, you can see all of those in the 4.6 Patch Notes announcement.

4.6.4 Patch Notes
Stability

  • Fixed a crash client-side players could sometimes encounter when switching characters while striking an emotive pose.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when players went to salvage a new and unseen item in their inventory before hovering over it.
  • Fixed a crash client-side players could encounter when dying and respawning under the AoE of a Cursing Grugde Marked boss.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when completing a Weave with at least one player 'waiting to be rescued.'
  • Fixed other various, unspecifiable crashes.

Heroes

  • Battle Wizard's fire trail combined with 'Lingering Flames' left a dot dealing the same damage as the fire trail. This has been reverted to only applying the smaller lasting dot from the explosion part of the ability, while the trail damage is dealt only when the enemy stands in it.
  • Sienna's DoTs applied from different sources now again apply separate DoTs.
  • Battle Wizard's 'Famished Flames' should now deal increased DoT damage.
  • Unchained should no longer be able to die instantly when exploding from overstepping max overcharge, rather than being downed.
  • Dual-wield weapons should no longer consume Shade's 'Shimmer Strike' when striking something that does not die from her 'Infiltrate' strike.
  • Handmaiden should no longer be able to dash into invisibility permanently when using 'Gift of Ladrielle'.


Enemies

  • Troll axe should no longer deal extra damage when hitting players through block.
  • Fixed shielded enemies keeping their guard up when knocked into the ground.
  • Players should now be able to stagger enemies as expected.
    • Explosion stagger now overrides all staggers.
    • Pushes can override explosion staggers.
    • All other staggers override each other.
    • Enemies are no longer unstaggerable when staggered during climb animation.
  • The 'Warchief' Grudge Mark should now spawn less enemies less frequently.

UI/UX

  • Fixed UI on upgrade shrines in the Chaos Wastes.
  • Fixed the cursor staying active when changing a setting that requires a soft restart.
  • Fixed various hitmarkers and crosshair indicators to display correctly.
  • Fixed text overflow in the inventory talents page.
  • Writing E or Q in Twitch mode in Chaos Wastes should no longer swap tabs in the interface.
  • Fixed a UI alignment issue in the map area selection menu.
  • Tweaked bot career selection icon to be more unique based on feedback.
  • Fixed the 'careers equipped on' tooltip segment appearing for items it shouldn't.
  • Fixed sliders in the settings menu sometimes displaying an incorrect value (the correct value would still be saved).
  • Fixed the crosshair HUD being visible in the 'Act on Instinct' (no HUD) mutator.
  • Store marker should now only show when there are unclaimed rewards.
  • An error dialog will now be displayed when a cosmetic purchase fails.
  • Fixed Fortunes of War displaying as 'Weekly Event' in Steam Rich Presence.

VFX/SFX

  • Character SFX should now trigger appropriately for client-side players.
  • Fixed Warrior Priest's and Sister of the Thorn's career abilities still having 'melee camera movement' when disabled.
  • Huntsman should now only play his 'end ability' sound when his ability...well, ends.

General

  • Non-melee attacks can no longer proc the 'Frenzy' Grudge Mark buff.
  • The camera should now trigger 'photomode' when a player holds 'X' while performing an emote.
  • Mousewheel zoom sensitivity in 'photomode' should now be lessened for ease of control.
  • Player outlines should now be disabled when players enter 'photomode' with the HUD UI hidden.
  • Changing weapon illusions on your secondary weapon should no longer equip the same weapon in both slots.
  • Reverted some unintended changes to the Chaos Wastes ecomony (less coin caches and some cheaper boons etc). The economy should now be what you all are familiar with.
  • Players should no longer be locked out of their weapons when giving teammates an item.
  • Fixed Unchained's passive not exploding when pushing her overcharge over the limit while emoting.

We have identified an issue where various hats might crash your game if you're trying to equip them through the new "Manage Career Inventory" and are currently working on a fix. We recommend not using this feature to change any hats at this time.

Witch Hunter Captain also crashes sometimes when swapping hats in regular inventory.

Some Saltzpyre hats can also crash the game when previewed in Lohner's Emporium.

New & Updated Grudge Marks
In this update, we have added three new Grudge Marks and tweaked two others.

  • New mark: Frenzy
    "Striking this monster with this mark 10 times in quick succession throws the player into a frenzy, increasing attack speed and movement speed by 25% and power by 20% but attacking causes damage to the player. Attacking the monster refreshes this debuff."

  • New mark: Cursed Aura
    "A monster with this mark temporarily curses the health of nearby players."
  • New Mark: Warchief
    “Periodically spawns elite units that surrounds and protects the Warchief”

  • Tweaked mark: Shield Shatter
    "Blocking an attack from this boss now temporarily reduces max stamina by 1 for 8 seconds. This mark can now appear on Chaos Spawns and Minotaurs again.

  • Tweaked mark: Illusionist
    "Illusions no longer inherit the attributes of the host monster, Illusions cannot deal damage or stagger players, Illusions now only take 1 hit to dispel."

New Features and Additions
  • To provide the best user experience and allow for more streamlined interface updates, we’ve decided to merge into a single unified menu system for all players and platforms. Moving to a Unified UI is beneficial for implementing new features to the interface, such as the freshly implemented features below (The legacy UI can be found in the options menu on PC):
  • Added Melee Camera Movement: Allows you to reduce or remove the sways and movements during combat and general gameplay
  • Added Detailed UI: Adds more details for health and ammunition values in the in-game HUD
  • Added Kill Confirm Crosshair: Indicates what and when you've killed an enemy
  • Enhanced Friendly Fire Crosshair / Hit Marker: Shows a more differentiated hitmarker when damaging an ally
  • Added Social Wheel Emotes: You can now trigger character poses to flex and take pictures with your friends!
  • Added Manage Career Inventory: Able to manage other careers' inventories and abilities without having to switch to that career
  • Added Equipped Items on Other Careers: See which items are equipped on careers other than the one you're currently playing

Sister of the Thorn
Kerillian’s latest career has undergone a bit of a renovation. The changes to Sister of the Thorn will add tools and opportunities for Kerillian to become an asset to the team in more ways than previously through debuffing enemies and controlling the flow of combat.

The goal with changing Sister of the Thorn is to address the most problematic areas of the career, make it into a stronger thematic role in combat, and lean more into the fantasy of the Sisters of the Thorn"

Passive, Talents, Perks

  • 'Blackvenom Blades': Melee attacks apply Blackvenom, dealing damage and increasing damage taken by 12% for 10 seconds
  • 'Atharti's Delight': Changed to applying bleed when striking poisoned enemies instead of on critical strikes
  • 'Isha’s Bounty' replaced with 'Briar's Malice': Casting Thornwake grants Kerillian 2 critical strikes
  • 'Bonded Spirit': Reduce the cooldown of Radiance by 50%, taking damage sets the cooldown back 2 seconds
  • 'Radiant Inheritance': Consuming Radiance grants Kerillian and nearby allies 15% power and 5% critical strike chance for 10 seconds
  • 'Pale Queen’s Choosing' replaced with 'Recursive Toxin' - Blackvenom can now stack 2 times
  • 'Moral-Heg’s Doomsight' replaced with 'Lingering Blackvenom' - Critical Strikes apply Blackvenom to enemies near the target
  • 'Ironbark Thicket': Now also increases the width of the wall
  • 'Bloodrazor Thicket' replaced with 'Tanglegrasp Thicket': Thorny vines now erupt from Kerillian and travel towards the targeted area. Enemies hit are dragged towards the target area
  • 'Blackvenom Thicket': Thornwake instead causes roots to burst from the ground, staggering enemies and applying Blackvenom to them

Shade
We felt Shade wasn't in a good place as a niche melee career, and that she needed more emphasis on positioning as well as allowing her to get behind enemies more often as a core part of her career. In order to support different playstyles, we also wanted to create a clearer intention with her Career Skill talents.

We wanted to remove the need for certain talent combinations and free up some more choices as a result. Some talents were also very low on popularity and we attempted to remedy the worst examples. We added two new perks to get her more in line with other careers.

We have made an effort to make sure the Shade stealth minigame is a bigger part of the second to second gameplay. Players who utilize this well should notice a big improvement to backstabbing.

Passive, Talents, Perks
  • Main Passive: Changed to 'Assassin's Blade': 100% additional damage when attacking enemies with melee attacks from behind
  • Activated Ability: Cooldown now 70s, up from 60s
  • Perk 1: 'Murderous Prowess': Charged melee backstabs instantly slay man-sized enemies
  • Perk 2: 'Blur': Parrying an attack and quickly dodging grants Kerillian stealth for a short duration
  • Perk 3: 'Dagger in the Dark': Melee attacks from stealth are always critical
  • Talent 2-3 'Exquisite Huntress': Increased duration of the headshot damage buff to 10 seconds, up from 5
  • Talent 4-1 'Ereth Khial's Herald' replaced with 'Chain Killer' - Successive Charged Backstabs increase Backstab Damage by 25% for 5 seconds. This effect can stack up to 2 times
  • Talent 4-2 'Vanish' replaced with 'Focused Slaying' - Killing an enemy with a Backstab grants Cooldown reduction for 3 seconds
  • Talent 6-1 'Cloak of Mist' replaced with 'Shimmer Strike' - Leaving Infiltrate grants Kerillian Stealth for 3 seconds. Killing an elite or a special enemy extends this effect by 1 second
  • Talent 6-2 'Shadowstep' replaced with 'Hungry Wind' - Leaving Infiltrate grants Kerillian 10% movement speed and 15% Power with the ability to pass through enemies for 10 seconds. Infiltrate no longer grants bonus damage

Stability and Localisation

  • Fixed various unspecified crashes
  • Fixed a crash caused by missing textures
  • Fixed a crash caused by the group holding more than the intended number of books.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when opening the Twitch tab when in the mission select menu
  • Fixed a crash in Fortunes of War when a player died close to the end of a round
  • Improved localization on various items
  • Fixed a couple of missing subtitles

Balance
  • Moonfire Bow and Hagbane now deal increased DoT damage on finesse hits
  • Removed AoE from Moonfire charged shots and reduced damage profiles
  • Battle Wizard: Applying stronger DoTs with 'Lingering Flames' talent active now overrides weaker DoTs
  • Moonfire Bow DoT now ticks 2, 4, or 6 times depending on attack charge
  • Lowered the damage output of the Moonfire Bow DoT
  • Charged Hagbane attacks now apply AoE poison on every bounce when using Ricochet talent

Enemies
  • Enemies spawned by Tzeentch Twins should no longer spawn in spots they're not supposed to
  • Fixed Stormfiend permanently shooting when staggered.
  • Chaos Wastes - Illusionist illusions can no longer touch players with most of their actions, they also now always have 0.25 health so they die from 1 hit
  • Chaos Wastes - Illusionist illusions no longer inherit other Grudge Mark properties, but they are still shown on the HUD (under the health bar) as if they do
  • Chaos Wastes - Tweaked 'Shield Shatter' Grudge Mark. Now reduces max stamina by 1 for 8 seconds when striking block
  • Chaos Wastes - Readded 'Shield Shatter' Grudge Mark to Chaos Spawns and Minotaurs

Levels
  • Into the Nest: Skarrik Spinemanglr can no longer be pushed outside of the arena
  • Many levels (Chaos Wastes and Adventure) have seen changes for floating items, interactables as well as wonky ledges and respawn points.
  • Enchanter's Lair: Fixed Rat Ogre audio playing when entering throne room, when there is no rat ogre
  • Added VO trigger in Count Mordrek's Fortress
  • Fixed a Curse Chest that was always spawning in the Citadel
  • Moved some respawn points in Grimblood's Stronghold
  • Festering Ground & A Quiet Drink: Players should no longer respawn in incorrect spots on the map.
  • Warcamp: Fixed a crash in when staggering arena boss with Sienna's firewalk
  • Warcamp: Bodvarr should no longer leave the arena unprompted
  • Players should now move forward in a given level when the rest of the party has moved beyond the point in which they can rescue the captured player
  • Taal's Horn Keep: Olesya should no longer walk through the wall

UI/UX
  • Added new color-coding for subtitles to better denote who is speaking.
  • Weapons with special attacks will now have these attacks noted in item tooltips
  • Fixed various cases of crashing and incorrect layout caused by minimizing the game window
  • Moonfire Bow should no longer show it having 'ammo' in Weaves
  • The damage indicator should no longer display when the player damages themselves
  • Fixed forging weave weapons causing regular inventory to have the "unseen item" star until selecting it in the Athanor
  • Weapon special attacks now have a default keybind of V that can be rebound

Heroes
  • Re-added Handmaiden's mocking laughter as requested by the community
  • Fixed display multiplier for Bardins 'Booming Taunt'
  • Different Sienna DoTs now stackable as intended. Applying the same DoT now refreshes duration
  • Sienna's DoTs applied with 'Lingering Flames' active no longer prevents you from reapplying DoTs on the same target after dying and being revived
  • Damage reduction no longer affects vent/explosion damage. Explosion damage will kill Sienna no matter how much damage reduction she has
  • Fixed an issue where 'Grimnir's Implacability' and Zealot's 'Heart of Iron' would cancel each other out
  • Fixed an issue where the Drakegun would not work with Engineer's 'Leading Shots'
  • Removed the tiny friendly fire from Unchained's career skill

SFX/VFX
  • The weapon glow of Warrior Priest of Sigmar's weapons can now be seen by clients
  • Tweaked some dialogue durations
  • Fixed Bardin's Chaos Wastes 'song dialogue' not working properly

General
  • There was a small window last week where players who found red items from chests were not granted Veteran (red) Illusions. This was corrected yesterday and all players who found reds have now been granted an apprporiate weapon skin
  • Stagger fix: Weak staggers no longer override strong staggers, which originially caused enemies to very suddenly stand up when knocked down
  • Added inspect animations to crystals in Weaves
  • Fixed clients not progressing the 'Unbreakable' challenge (absorb damage caused by Warrior Priest passive)
  • Fixed an issue with Ironbreaker's beard being constrained at low FPS
  • Bots should no longer be able to fling themselves from ledges unprovoked. They can still be yeeted off ledges, just shouldn't navigate themselves off a ledge
  • Fixed bots sometimes not repathing when they are interrupted by an enemy while trying to reach a player to aid them (eg. revive)
  • Weapons found in the Chaos Wastes will now only use illusions you've unlocked
  • Fixed Griffon-Foot Pistol shooting with delay when affected by extra shot buffs
  • Fixed an issue where barrels could be duplicated
  • Fixed an issue where Paintings had lost their descriptions
  • Fixed an issue where the 'Feed Me, Sinner' Challenge could not be completed if Sienna (Battle Wizard) used her activated ability 'Fire Walk'
  • Fixed an issue with the Ubersreik Cataclysm Keep banner
  • Fixed an issue when host swapping characters in the Keep would prohibit hot-joining players from picking the previous character
  • Players are now invincible while being inside the Skittergate, solving the issue where players can be killed by entering/exiting the gate
  • Bogenhafen weapon illusions should now show correctly when performing an inspect animation
  • Fixed being able to join players that you have blocked in Steam

Known Issues
  • Some Grudge Marks are missing/have the wrong icon(s)
  • Some ranged attacks are proccing frenzy grudge mark buff, in particular (but not limited to) the beam staff
  • Settings that require restart to change causes the cursor to stay active in game after restart
  • The tooltip when upgrading a weapon in the Chaos Wastes might sometimes go out of bounds of the screen and you're unable to read the whole thing

In our upcoming Quality of Life update, you’ll experience some new features and changes to some old ones. Join our Stream on Friday, 11th of March, where Markus, Game Designer on Vermintide 2, will join our CM Aqshy to show you the goods.

When planning this QoL update, implementing features inspired by some of the most used mods was high up on the list. We’ve seen what mods you use the most and recommend to each other, which informed the design process.

Designing these features could not have been possible without the amazing creators behind the original mods. Thank you for your contribution to Warhammer: Vermintide 2 during these four years and years to come! To show our gratitude, we will immortalize all mod creators whose mods have had their essence mainlined in the game’s credits, as well as all mod authors and contributors who have had their mods sanctioned for use on the official realm.

In this Developer Blog, we are going to take a look at some of the new features*, explain how they will work in Vermintide 2, and of course, give credit where credit is due; to the original creators.

Unified UI & New Features

UNIFIED UI
To provide the best user experience and allow for more streamlined interface updates, we’ve decided to merge into a single unified menu system for all players and platforms. Moving to a Unified UI is beneficial for implementing new features to the interface, such as the freshly implemented features below, as well as any and all future additions and changes to the interface.

The old legacy interface remains available in the options menu on PC, and at this time can still see changes via mods like before, however, the legacy menu won’t receive any newly implemented features or future updates from us.


MELEE CAMERA MOVEMENT

The Melee Camera Movement options allow you to reduce or remove a great deal of the sways and movements that the camera makes during combat and general gameplay. Whether you just want a static camera or find some of the default camera movements nauseating, these options should help you out!

Taking influences from the Numeric UI mod, this new option gives you the choice to add more details for health and ammunition values in the in-game HUD.

KILL CONFIRM CROSSHAIR
Original Mod & Creator: Kill Confirm Crosshair by pixaal

Similar to pixaal’s mod, the Kill Confirm Crosshair indicates when a killing blow is delivered, so when you’re in the thick of it, you can get a better understanding of when you’ve killed something or what enemy class it was.

FRIENDLY FIRE CROSSHAIR / HIT MARKER
Original mod & creator: Friendly Fire Indicator by NonzeroGeoduck7

This feature shows you a hit marker when damaging an ally, or if you get damaged by an ally or an elf…

The Social Wheel Emotes are character poses that can be triggered from a 2nd wheel that’s adjacent to the Social Wheel. These can also be cast directly from a shortcut key (default “U” key - but can be rebound). Upon casting an emote, characters are set in a 3rd person camera. We’re looking forward to seeing some of the screenshots you can come up with when posing the heroes in various locations in and around Helmgart!




MANAGE CAREER INVENTORY
Original mod & Creator: UI Improvements by grasmann

You’ll soon be able to manage other careers (than the one you’re currently on) without having to switch careers. This option will be available in the top right corner of the inventory. In addition to this functionality, everything that is present in the inventory tab will be accessible (e.g. talents, crafting). Changes made here do affect the bots' “loadouts” as well.



EQUIPPED ITEMS ON OTHER CAREERS

Not a great deal to say here! You can see which items are equipped on careers other than the one you’re currently playing by checking the item’s ‘on hover’ tooltips!



PERSISTENT AMMO COUNTER
Original mod & Creator: Persistent Ammo Counter by prop joe

Much like prop joe’s mod, this feature allows you to see your ammo stash irrespective of having your ranged weapon equipped.

BOT PRIORITIZATION
Want to have the perfect careers to join your party for solo runs, or missing a player or two? After the Quality of Life update you can! The Bot Prioritizations allow you to select which careers should fill up your party in what order.



BOT SAFETY TRAINING
Bots have now been trained in minding their step and should find themselves hanging from ledges far less frequently than before when navigating through the levels.

PLAYER RESPAWN IMPROVEMENTS
In order to avoid situations where a captured player can be left behind, captured players should now move forward in a given level when the rest of the party has moved beyond the point in which they can rescue the captured player.

CLEAR DEEDS
Whilst player inventories are large, veteran players can find themselves running frustratingly low on space, whilst having an ever-increasing stockpile of Deeds. If you’ve got too many deeds in your inventory you now have the option to delete them after this update. We know some of you prefer Twitch Mode and hopefully, this solves a thorn in your side!


SPECIAL ATTACK TOOLTIPS AND BINDING
Weapons with a special attack (such as Saltzpyre’s Rapier) will now have their attacks noted in item tooltips (as well as mentioned in loading screens and when inspecting such an item) and come with a new more accessible default (yet rebindable) keybind (V).

STREAMLINED WEAPON UPGRADES
This is an entirely new window in the UI. It gives an overview of your currently equipped weapon.
  • Overview: Here you can see what weapon you currently have equipped, its rarity, and if it is a melee or ranged weapon.
  • Properties: Displays the properties of your weapon. More properties can be unlocked by upgrading the weapon.
  • Trait: The trait of your weapon. Is unlocked by upgrading the weapon.
  • Upgrade: If you wish to upgrade your weapon, you can do so here without having to go into the crafting menu.
  • Information: Overview of the stats, strengths, and weaknesses of your weapon.



Okri’s Challenges

It’s now possible to claim challenge rewards in bulk, as opposed to one by one, for those who complete multiple in a run, or just aren’t interested in picking through the challenge book -- fair is fair and time is precious. There have also been additional improvements to challenge filtering with the introduction of toggleable filters.

Another great advantage of baking in the spirit or essence of some keenly used mods, we’re able to bring most of these additions to players on Xbox and PlayStation as well in April.



There are even more improvements in Patch 4.6 which we’ll publish in the Patch Notes, but for now, happy rat bashing and we look forward to seeing you in the Stream on Friday!
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 - [Fatshark] Trelly
In the upcoming Quality of Life update arriving on March 15, there will be some changes to two of Kerillian’s careers: Sister of the Thorn, and Shade. In this dev blog, you will learn more about these changes and what they mean for both careers.

Sister of the Thorn
Kerillian’s latest career has undergone a bit of a renovation. The changes to Sister of the Thorn will add tools and opportunities for Kerillian to become an asset to the team in more ways than previously through debuffing enemies and controlling the flow of combat.

The goal with changing Sister of the Thorn is to address the most problematic areas of the career, make it into a stronger thematic role in combat, and lean more into the fantasy of the Sisters of the Thorn.

Updated Perk:
  • Perk 1 Blackvenom Blades: Melee attacks apply Blackvenom, dealing damage and increasing damage taken by 12% for 10 seconds.
New & Updated Talents:
  • Talent 2-2 Atharti's Delight - Changed to applying bleed when striking poisoned enemies instead of on critical strikes.
  • Talent 2-3 Isha’s Bounty replaced with Briar's Malice - Casting Thornwake grants Kerillian 2 critical strikes.
  • Talent 4-2 Bonded Spirit - Reduce the cooldown of Radiance by 50%, taking damage sets the cooldown back 2 seconds.
  • Talent 4-3 Radiant Inheritance - Consuming Radiance grants Kerillian and nearby allies 15% power and 5% critical strike chance for 10 seconds.
  • Talent 5-1 Pale Queen’s Choosing replaced with Recursive Toxin - Blackvenom can now stack 2 times.
  • Talent 5-2 Moral-Heg’s Doomsight replaced with Lingering Blackvenom - Critical Strikes apply Blackvenom to enemies near the target.
  • Talent 6-1 Ironbark Thicket - Now also increases the width of the wall
  • Talent 6-2 Bloodrazor Thicket replaced with Tanglegrasp Thicket - Thorny vines now erupt from Kerillian and travel towards the targeted area. Enemies hit are dragged towards the target area.
  • Talent 6-3 Blackvenom Thicket - Thornwake instead causes roots to burst from the ground, staggering enemies and applying Blackvenom to them.
Shade
We felt Shade wasn't in a good place as a niche melee career, and that she needed more emphasis on positioning as well as allowing her to get behind enemies more often as a core part of her career. In order to support different playstyles, we also wanted to create a clearer intention with her Career Skill talents.

We wanted to remove the need for certain talent combinations and free up some more choices as a result. We added two new perks to get her more in line with other careers.

We have made an effort to make sure the Shade stealth minigame is a bigger part of the second to second gameplay. Players who utilize this well should notice a big improvement to backstabbing.


Rebalanced Perks & Passive:
  • Main Passive: Changed to Assassin's Blade: 100% additional damage when attacking enemies with melee attacks from behind.
  • Perk 1 Murderous Prowess: Charged critical backstabs instantly slay man-sized enemies.
  • Perk 2 Blur: Parrying an attack and quickly dodging grants Kerillian stealth for a short duration.
  • Perk 3 Dagger in the Dark: Melee attacks from stealth are always critical.
New & Updated Talents:
  • Talent 2-3 Exquisite Huntress - Increased duration of the headshot damage buff to 10 seconds, up from 5.
  • Talent 4-1 Ereth Khial's Herald replaced with Chain Killer- Successive Charged Backstabs increase Backstab Damage by 25% for 5 seconds. This effect can stack up to 2 times.
  • Talent 4-2 Vanish replaced with Focused Slaying - Killing an enemy with a Backstab grants Cooldown reduction for 3 seconds.
  • Talent 6-1 Cloak of Mist replaced with Shimmer Strike - Leaving Infiltrate grants Kerillian Stealth for 3 seconds. Killing an elite or a special enemy extends this effect by 1 second.
  • Talent 6-2 Shadowstep replaced with Hungry Wind - Leaving Infiltrate grants Kerillian 10% movement speed and 15% Power with the ability to pass through enemies for 10 seconds. Infiltrate no longer grants bonus damage.

Between March 8 - March 21 all players can play the celebratory level ‘A Quiet Drink’, and on March 15 the Quality of Life update will go live on PC.

The 4-Year Anniversary will run across all platforms from March 8 - 21. All future Vermintide 2 anniversaries will happen on all platforms at the same time. This means that the previous Xbox and PS4/5 specific events will happen simultaneously to PC on or around March 8.

Follow the heroes out on the town in search of the famous Bugman’s XXXXXX. Let’s hope that the Skaven and Rotbloods don’t stir up too much trouble.
