Silent night, holy night… not in NosTale! The wild cats are back once more, trying to take over in our Winter Event. What’s more, you have the special chance to create a reindeer-drawn sleigh – this sleek ride would make even Santa Claus turn green with envy, though at this festive time of year he can’t keep a merry smile off of his face at seeing you ride it.

Look forward to these highlights between 09 December 2019 and 09 January 2020:

Magic Sleigh with Red-nosed Reindeer
The NPC Santa Claus has something very special in store for you. In exchange for a Red-nosed Reindeer Bead (available from quests and the Winter Event raids listed below) and a Magic Sleigh (available in the NosMall), Santa Claus will create a super-fast Magic Sleigh with Red-nosed Reindeer for you.

Specialist Partners
With Maru’s Specialist Partner Card you can transform Tom and Kliff into the Millennial Tiger.
With the second Specialist Partner Card ‘Maru in Mother’s Fur’ you can transform Tom and Kliff into a tiger disguised as the siblings’ caring mother.
The partner has three razor-sharp skills: Hi-yah!, Spin Up and Tiger Power

Raid against Maru the Millennial Tiger
Challenge Maru and his followers in the raid! Simply use Maru’s Raid Seal to take him on. If you’re successful, you’ll be rewarded with his special Tiger Chest, possibly containing the ‘Doppelgänger’ title amongst other things.

Note: You can neither make yourself invisible, nor summon miniatures as Jajamaru in this raid.

Daily Quests

You can earn Maru’s Raid Seal and Brass Coins as your reward for completing the daily quests.

Event Quest
Talk to the Wanderer NPC to exchange Brass Coins for the Wanderer’s Chest and the great items hidden inside.

Red Bean Rice Cakes and Sesame Oil
Collect Red Bean Rice Cakes and Sesame Oil by hunting monsters, then exchange the items for a reward or use them yourself. The cakes restore you and your NosMate’s HP and MP, while the Sesame Oil is useful in the raid.

Snowman Raid
Once you’ve completed the quest and mastered the Time-Space, you can get your revenge on the Snow Monster in the Vikings’ name. Grab your friends and bring it the heat! In reward you’ll earn a Raid Box containing awesome specialist partner cards, the ‘Sleepy Head’ title and other wintry event items.

Daily Quests from Six NPCs in NosVille
Meet good and evil reindeer, let the bells ring out, watch how scarves are made from magical wool and knitting needles and much more. Collect colourful stockings for completing quests and exchange them for a Christmas Gift Box.

Happy New Year… Literally!
Collect golden letters (H, A, P, Y) and white letters (N, E, W, Y, A, R) that are dropped by monsters. Once you have enough to spell the words HAPPY NEW YEAR, you can exchange them for a Happy New Year Box and/or a Happy New Year Golden Box. If fortune’s smiling, you’ll find a Movement Scroll, fancy costumes or a variety of fireworks inside.

This update will get under your skin! In NosTale Act 7, you can visit Churisgo on Moritius and have her give you a magical tattoo. You’ll feel the extra power boost immediately!

Tattooing has a long tradition on the island of Moritius. The orcs pay homage to the god of wild animals with their skin art, who in turn bestows special blessings on the bearer of the tattoos in the form of special abilities. Churisgo is a true master of this traditional art.

You can choose between tattoos from these 4 categories:
* Bear Loa
* Lion Loa
* Eagle Loa
* Snake Loa



How it works:
* Visit NPC Churisgo in the village on the island of Moritius.
* Talk to the orc Churisgo.
* You require materials with which to craft a tattoo pattern.
* Use the tattoo pattern to choose one of the tattoo categories.
* You’ll receive a random tattoo which grants you a passive ability. There are 8 different tattoos in each category.
* Your character can have up to two tattoos. These must be from different categories, however.
* You can also ask Churisgo to touch up an existing tattoo and strengthen the ability it provides. As this is a difficult procedure, the result may be successful, unsuccessful or a major failure. Failure results in the strength of the effect dropping by 1.
* Each tattoo can be strengthened up to 9 times.



Please note: Materials are required for each step up to a complete tattoo (creating the pattern, adding the tattoo and strengthening it).
If you prefer to remove a tattoo or want to protect it from failure when strengthening it, you can buy special items in the NosMall.

The inhabitants of Moritius Island use the mysterious and powerful runes to make their weapons stronger.

As you are helping the orcs on the island, rune master Martas is happy to carve these magical runes into your weapons too.

How it works:

• Visit NPC Martas on the new region, Moritius Island.
  
• He'll carve runes into your weapon in exchange for money and materials.
  
• You can carve up to 15 runes into your weapon (any weapon of level 80 or above).
  
• The more runes you try to add, the higher the chance that the process will fail.
  
• Each rune will have a different effect. If you get the same effect more than once, the effect is amplified.
  
• For every 3 runes you carve, there is a chance for a rune power to be applied to your weapon instead of an effect.
  
• Just like rune effects, rune powers can stack when you get the same power more than once.
  
• Applying a rune can have the following outcomes: successful, unsuccessful, or ruined. If a rune is ruined, you won’t be able to carve any more runes.
  
• There are 13 rune effects, and 10 rune powers.

Sail many miles West of the mainland. You think you’ve sailed far enough? Well just keep sailing! Once you start feeling like you’re going to reach the edge of the world, you’ll eventually see an island: Moritius.


An orc tribe lives here, once ruled by their chief, the honourable Urgos.

You might think at first glance that the idyllic village is a peaceful one. But the villagers are facing a nearly unsolvable situation: a great drought!

The fields have dried out so much that they can barely produce crops for the orcs. They’re even running out of clean drinking water.

Urgos decided to bring together every mage in the village to perform a ritual to save his people. It worked, and an unbelievable prophecy was heard:
‘Up high. Higher than the white mist in the sky. That’s where it must reach: a structure of clay and stone.’

Urgos ordered his people to build this Celestial Spire, regardless of the sacrifices and sadness it would bring them to do so. Many orcs starved from working too hard with too little to eat. Some of them fled across the sea. But Urgos did not back down from his plans. The tower must be completed – only then will everything be alright again, he thought.

That’s how things remained, year after year, until finally the tower stands in all its glory. At the same time, the first orc refugees arrive on the mainland.

The newcomers are treated as curiosities – after all, the adventurers on the mainland had never met orc tribespeople before.

Propga, the leader of the orc refugees, tells all the adventurers about the situation on Moritius, and asks them for their help.

And so, they all set sail for Moritius. On their journey they are met with dozens of monsters the likes of which they’ve never seen before. Even Propga can’t explain what’s going on, having not seen a single monster during their trip to the mainland.

They get to Moritius only to find even more merciless monsters, and the orc village abandoned.



Eventually they come across survivors, including Chief Tator who tells the adventurers about an unexpected catastrophe:
‘Once the tower was finally complete, Urgos climbed to the top of it with all his mages and warriors. I was there too. He thrust his spear skywards and with one great strike, tore a hole in the fabric of the very air itself. Suddenly all was darkness; thunder rumbled across the island. At first I thought we had just succeeded in bringing a storm to the island, and that the drought was finally over. But no one could have guessed what we actually brought here. Monsters – hundreds, thousands of them – came pouring through the tear in the sky. We couldn’t overcome them, so powerful were they, and in the end we were forced to retreat. I watched as Urgos, strong as ten orcs, fought with all his might against the onslaught. But it was all in vain. A demonic monstrosity appeared before him, and he cried tears of blood, such was his regret for what he’d done.

You are a mighty warrior. Be mine!

The creature bent over Urgos and transformed him into some evil abyssal thing. He no longer knew his own people, and attacked our warriors! I was the only one to survive the massacre, and I went and got everyone out of the village as quickly as I could. It wasn’t long afterwards that our home was overrun by those monsters.’

This story drives the adventurers to action. They are convinced that the wound in the sky is actually a time-space portal, which would mean the whole world is under threat.

The first step is certain: they have to seal the tear.

But even with the combined might of the orcs and the adventurers, they are still powerless against Urgos, who guards the top of the tower. Until they can find adventurers strong enough to defeat Urgos, they decide to seal the first floor of the tower.
Meanwhile, the orc tribe rebuilds their village, and welcomes all the adventurers from the mainland to their homes, hoping to find someone who can vanquish Urgos and close the portal.

There are exciting new adventures to be had, and countless, never-before-seen monsters to overcome in NosTale Act 7. You’ll be well equipped for your quests on Moritius after this latest update – it contains plenty of new pieces of equipment for you to craft from materials found on the island.
