Yuletide is here! And as we promised, we have a very special surprise for you during this event.
You can earn all of this in the second Yuletide assignment, the Yuletide Elf Hunt. Yes, part of the surprise is more work. You’re welcome.
For good measure, and because there is so much content this time around, let’s do a rundown of everything you can experience during this jolly time of year.
TWO (!) assignments, the Yearly Performance Bonus, and the Yuletide Elf Hunt.
A hefty reward and cosmetic items (so many items) for completing each assignment. Completing the Yearly Performance Bonus earns you the Reindeer Games headwear. And completing the Yuletide Elf Hunt earns you the Yuletide Elf Suit + Headwear, Chillaxe pickaxe set, and the Yuletide Special Bosco framework.
Double Season XP when you catch and deposit a Yuletide Elf during one of your missions. A fitting reward for keeping the caves of Hoxxes elf-free.
Space Rig decorations to put you in the best of Yuletide moods. Including snow substitute, for friendly snowball fights.
Presents may appear in the caves of Hoxxes. What do they contain? Only one way to find out.
Thank you for another wonderful year, Miners. We are so grateful for your support. We will be taking a bit of time off ourselves during the last week of the year but will be back again at the start of 2023. We initially did not plan on making a lot of the features listed above for this event. But once we started, we couldn’t help ourselves - again…

After a lot of convincing B.O.S.C.O. finally agreed to go to anger management therapy. He will not throw large gems and eggs through the map anymore. Additionally, the Huuli Hoarders should no longer scream your ears off from the afterlife and the crew has learned how to spell “catalyst”.

The next seasonal event is upon us! ‘Tis the season for celebration, presents, and work-related activities to earn said presents. Yuletide begins December 15th!
There is much to experience during this time of giving, so buckle up and hold on for deer life as we go through all of them.
It would not be Yuletide without festive hats. And in tune with the holiday spirit, you will get all hats from previous Xmas events. So you can spread some Yuletide while working on the jolly Yuletide Assignment only available during this most festive of seasons.
Yearly Performance Bonus
The company has been doing quite well, and Management wishes to recognize your exemplary effort and impressive performance in the best way possible: Paid overtime A special assignment unlocking a hefty Yuletide payout! Sleigh your way through all the missions, and you will also receive the unique Reindeer Games hat. Shine a light with a nose so bright and guide your team safely through the night*. Or safely through the caves of Hoxxes, to find something completely special.

Double Season XP event
Management has ordered a special shipment of decorative Yuletide Elves for the festivities. But the same freighter that lost the Best Wurst Beer mugs also managed to lose this delivery on approach to the Space Rigs. So now the caves of Hoxxes are filled with Elves… It is up to you to save Yuletide, Miners! If you come across one of these decorative Yuletide Elves on a mission, please pick it up and deposit it. Doing so will earn you double Season XP for the mission, as a recognition of your (s)elf-less dedication to the company.
Oh, and there will of course also be decorations. Lots of decorations.
AND we have a special Yuletide surprise for you, to be opened once the event starts.
Yuletide will run from December 15th until January 5th. Merry Workmas, Miners.

METEOR SHOWER
---------------------------- During any mission you play, there will be a chance for a meteor shower to perforate the caves of Hoxxes. Smaller Lithophage Meteorites will come hurtling down on you and your team, so make sure to stand clear of the impact zones. This new danger also provides a lucrative opportunity, as the meteors can contain Plaguehearts. Their size and density make it possible to break them down with your regular pickaxe. No need for special equipment.
Meteor showers will start raining down on Hoxxes with today’s patch - so get cracking, miners!
And thanks to everyone who has nominated DRG for ‘Labor of Love’ in this year's Steam Awards so far. Your support and encouragement make this labor easy to love - which is part of the reason we can't stop ourselves from letting new features creep into the game, like this meteor shower. Now, let’s all get back to work.
- Meteor Showers are being observed all over Hoxxes, even in Lithopage areas! Make sure not to stand in their path when they drop and crack them to collect Plaguehearts to progress your Season Performance and keep Mission Control happy - Fixed the impact axe giving damage when passing through triggers such as those of the Poison Spores Fungus (You can still kill multiple of these with one axe throw, but the axe will need to come reasonably close to the fungus) - Fixed electric crystals not electrocuting you when pickaxed - Adjusted electric crystal resistances so that they can be destroyed with one powerattack - Made the Impact Axes deal similar damage to electric crystals as a normal pickaxe hit - Reverted spawn space reduction on electric crystals from last patch - Fixed Contagious being misspelled in the MC line

Because DRG really is a labor of love for all of us here at Ghost Ship. We hope that all of you playing DRG feel that, and that definitely seems to be the case judging by the response from Season 03.
It’s been a little over two weeks since we launched Season 03, and it’s surpassed all our expectations. More of you have joined the ranks of DRG than ever before, with Season 03 setting the record for the highest number of concurrent players ever in the game. More than 46.000 of you were playing at the same time following the release of Season 03, with many hundreds of thousands of new miners joining since the Rockpox first arrived. Whether your beard is green, grey, or any color in between, we salute you. Thank you, Miners!
While all of you have been dealing with the Rockpox, we have been hard at work releasing patches and figuring out what comes next. And while we are not quite ready to talk about what the far future brings for DRG (The Rockpox is still fresh on arrival in the caves of Hoxxes), we will soon reveal the next Seasonal Event.
What will the next Seasonal Event be? Yule have to wait a bit to find out...

Scrip incoming! This patch brings the missing Plague Warning Challenges that only the most prestigious of miners may have noticed. Additionally, the Omen tower is now mortal once again and the keybinding changes from last patch have been reversed.
