The latest patch for Bomber Crew is now available, which includes a brand new game mode and controller support, amongst other things!
Thanks again for playing and letting us know what you think- We hope you enjoy this latest update!

Here's all the features:
:missiontarget: New Challenge Game Mode! For a change of pace, jump straight into the action and survive wave after wave of intensifying challenges. Take a reusable crew, experiment with your loadouts and see how they fare on the global leaderboards!
The key to a highscore is to clear each wave objective quickly and grab those pickups! Collected by tagging and flying through them, pickups will level up your crew, refuel or repair your bomber, and restore your crew's health.
This new mode is great for a blast of aerial action when you're not quite ready to risk your campaign crew on that perilous next mission!
:missiontarget: Controller Support Sit back and play Bomber Crew at ease!
We recommend starting a new campaign game and playing through the tutorial missions so you can become comfortable with the controls before you play with your valuable crews. (We've added an extra save slot for this, in case yours are all full). Challenge mode is also a great way to get to grips with the new control scheme.
(The gamepad display in this gif is just for illustrative purposes :) )
:missiontarget: ‘Character Editor’ In addition to changing the names of your recruits and crew members, you can now customise their appearance!
:missiontarget: Game Save Preview Photos When choosing a saved game to load, you'll now see a natty group photo of your crews and their aircraft!
:missiontarget: Fast Forward Debrief Sequence Minimise the time you spend having your face rubbed in your crew's demise! Click the fast-forward button to speed through the debrief sequence.
We’ve been busy with our heads buried in several things - shipping the console versions of Bomber Crew, working on the upcoming dlc, and developing a bunch of new features and improvements for the Steam release.
We just wanted to give you a quick overview of what’s coming in the next update, which is currently going through QA, and will be available on the 10th of July.
Once again, thank you for all your feedback and support, it continues to be a source of invaluable encouragement for us.

We’ve be overwhelmed with the response to Bomber Crew since its release, and have had numerous requests for more playable content. We’ve both been working at full tilt to bring you something in time for the winter holidays, and here it is - the Secret Weapons DLC!
You’ll take your crew through the challenging missions of ‘Big Week’, striking at the enemy’s aircraft production facilities during a snow-swept midwinter. The enemy will strike back with their most experimental fighter aircraft - and the deadly ace pilots who have mastered them! You’ll also find a few goodies at the airbase, such as thermal flight suits, new base paint liveries, and some handy advanced upgrades to your bomber’s armaments.
Enjoyed the music in Bomber Crew? You can now grab the Official Soundtrack, which has been carefully re-mastered for the best listening experience.
The Bomber Crew Season Pass is now available! This offers all current and future DLC at a bargain price.
As it’s the season for giving, we also have a free update for everyone! Here’s what’s new:
‘New Bomber Upgrades: Ammo Feeds for all Turrets!’ This holiday season, give all your gunners the gift of unlimited ammo belts. Go on, you know it’s what they always wanted!
‘Slightly Quicker Tagging’ The time it takes for a marker to be tagged is now reduced slightly.
‘New Crew Gear: Festive Jumpers and Bobble Hats’ Very warm and moderately stylish clobber - get your crew in a festive mood!
‘New Bomber Upgrades: Seasonal Liveries’ Yes, that bomber is wearing a festive jumper.
‘Low Fuel Warning Indicator’ The fuel light in the bottom-left of the screen will now flash when you have only 25% of your fuel remaining.
‘Memorial Name Wall Extended’ Over 800 brave fallen crew can now be remembered.
We’ve also made numerous small improvements and fixes.
Once again, thanks for all your support, it continues to be wonderful! We’re going to have a short break over Christmas, then in the new year, crack on with bringing you more Bomber Crew updates!
If you celebrate it, Merry Christmas! If you don’t, Happy Holidays!

Thanks everyone, for all your suggestions and feedback. We’ve got plenty of work to do in preparing the console version of Bomber Crew, but your enthusiasm and support has given us the extra boost we need to continue improving the PC version, and the second update is here!
Here’s what’s new:
‘Lock Pilot to Station Button’ If you’ve ever found yourself in a situation where your pilot has wandered off without you realising, you may appreciate this new feature! There’s a new button on the Pilot’s station panel, which can be clicked to lock your pilot to the station, preventing them being sent elsewhere in the bomber. Click it again to unlock.
‘Enemy Ace Health Bars Appear as Objectives’ Now when your crew encounters an enemy Ace fighter, their health will appear on the right hand side of the screen as an objective, giving a clearer idea of how the battle is going.
‘Toggle Quick Peek with the ‘Z’ Key’ Hit the ‘Z’ key and your view will zoom straight into the bomber, allowing you to quickly get managing your crew. Hit the ‘Z’ key a second time to return to the previous camera view.
Other Changes: - Balancing of mid and later missions has been improved. They’re still challenging, but some groups of jets have been spaced out a little.
- Leaking fuel tanks now display a visible effect.
- Crew can now move when the bomber is at steeper angles.
- Low fuel warning are now repeated to give them more urgency.
- ‘Bail Out’ order can now be canceled by clicking the button a second time.
- ‘Slow Time’ camera zoom is reduced.
- Fixed: Engine fire extinguishers would not deplete if station was vacated.
- Fixed: ‘Medium’ and ‘Low’ altitude button labels were swapped around.
- Fixed: Rockets can no longer be detonated by clouds!
- Heavier crew gear now slows down crewmembers slightly less.
- Fixed: Rendering error on rear-starboard tail fin.
- Fixed: Audio stuttering sometimes caused by many anti-aircraft guns firing together.
There are plenty of things that didn’t make it in this time, but more improvements are on the way!
If you’ve enjoyed the emotional rollercoaster of guiding your crew through Bomber Crew’s campaign, please consider nominating it for the “Choices Matter” Steam Award. This award seems to be tailor made for what we were striving for!
We’re so grateful for all the kind words of support we’ve received, it really has been the best year :)

‘Slow Time’ - Hold Ctrl We think this is a good compromise for the players who like their action a little less intense at times, while retaining the urgency of the situations crews found themselves in.
By holding ‘Ctrl’, time will slow, allowing more breathing space for quick decisions. A small bar in the top left of the screen will show how much longer time can be slowed for. Once the bar runs out, it will fill again over a short period. The Slow Time feature can be used even when the bar is not fully filled.
For those of you who are hardcore #nopause advocates, a bonus is rewarded at the end of each mission if you do not use the Slow Time ability. And if you really dislike it, it can be switched off entirely in the options menu.
‘Quick Peek’ - Hold Shift Quickly move the camera to view inside the bomber! This was in the previous release, but somewhat hidden. Especially powerful when used along with ‘Slow Time’!
Camera control keys - ‘W, S, A & D’ The camera can now be zoomed in/out with the W/S keys, and moved left and right with A/D. This is especially useful in ‘Quick Peek’ mode!
Hot Keys! We’ve added a few hotkeys to make some trickier actions a little more straightforward in the heat of battle!
Hot Key: Reload Ammo - ‘R’ Select a crewmember and hit the ‘R’ key - they will immediately head to the ammo box and grab a fresh belt. If they were manning a turret when the command was issued, they will return to it and reload!
Hot Key: Heal at Rest Bed - ‘F’ Select a crewmember and hit the ‘F’ key - they will head to the Rest Bed to regain some health.
Hot Key: Go to Pilot Station - ‘P’ Ever get that sinking feeling during a sortie? It’s probably because your pilot has wandered off! Now you can simply select a crewmember and hit the ‘P’ key - they will go straight to the pilot’s station and grab the steering yoke!
Difficulty Balancing We have made some changes to difficulty based on your feedback. Later in the game, you’ll now receive higher level recruits and replacement bombers featuring better upgrades.
Improved Options Volume for music and effects can be independently adjusted. You can now flip the camera’s Y axis in the options menu.
The controls options have now been moved to the pause menu’s ‘Options’ page.
Happy Halloween! We’ve included a few free special livery items for you to celebrate!
Various bug fixes and improvements We’ve chased down many bugs, fixed a bunch and *think* we’ve fixed a few more. We’ll try to address specific issues in the forums. Please do keep reporting anything you happen to find, we very much appreciate it! We’ve also made various improvements, such as speeding up the crew survival wheel at the end of the missions.
That’s all in this first update! Please keep the feedback and suggestions coming, we are listening!
