The Heroic Memories Event tests out your Hero's bravery with a special rule:
#Discussions_QuoteBlock_Author
Each player starts with 30 Health. Once per game, you can pay 3 power to draw your hero. Then, you'll both gain an Aegis, or your hero will get +1/+1 if it already has Aegis.
When entering the event, select a Hero from your collection. Be wary: your fates are tied! After choosing your hero, set up a deck that meets the following requirements:
Has exactly 1 copy of all non-power cards
Does not contain a copy of the Hero you selected
Shares factions with your selected Hero
Markets are closed
Your deck is not limited to the factions of your Hero and you have the option to edit your deck between games in a run.
What memories will you and your Hero make together?
Heroic Memories uses the Heroic Singleton format, and will run from Friday, May 26th until Monday, May 29th.
This event costs 200 Gems or 2,500 Gold to enter.
Your first 10 runs will determine your position on the event leaderboard. The top 500 players will also get 4 premium Alternate Art copies of Ascetic Lantern!
Gather round, heroes. The time has come for another Eternal Balance Update...
Ascetic Lantern to 2-cost 2/2 (from 1-cost 2/1)
Twilight Lantern to 1/3 (from 2/2)
In Expedition, Fire-based aggro (including Stonescar) has crept up to a worrying win rate, especially at higher MMRs. While the two lanterns aren’t necessarily the most powerful cards in these decks, they do contribute significantly to many of the most despairing games. The increased health adds a bit more variety to Fire statlines and what blockers/removal line up most efficiently against them.
"Save the Day" to “Kill an enemy unit without Endurance.” (was “Kill an enemy unit.)
Save the Day serves a valuable metagame function as both a way to stabilize against aggressive decks and close out midrange mirrors. That said, it has become repetitive in that use, with too many games ending the same way. We’re adding a little more room for counterplay, so that units with Endurance can provide offense or defense through the AOE stun instead of just being target #1.
"Youngblood Driver" to 4/4 (was 4/2)
This is a fun little build-around who hasn’t seen much play. The extra health brings up the floor on casting it with 0-2 other spells, without substantially impacting the already impressive best-case scenarios.
Crafted copies of Ascetic Lantern and Twilight Lantern can be destroyed for a full refund. Because Save the Day is only obtained from a Chapter, players who purchased Chapter 9 - The Long Path will receive a 650 gold grant.
