Slayaway Camp - Blue Wizard

Steam's doing something mega exciting this December: the Steam Awards!

At first we shrugged... we don't need an award to tell us how awesome Slayaway Camp is, your 99% Positive reviews already do that for us!

But then we saw one of the categories:

VILLAIN MOST IN NEED OF A HUG

I mean, come on... The emotional anguish coursing through the evil blood of Skullface has already been fully documented in his Journal of Die-Kus!!!

We would be honoured if you would vote for Slayaway Camp and more importantly, Skullface to receive this prestigious Steam Award. Just go to the Slayaway Camp store page to cast your vote:

Slayaway Camp - Blue Wizard

We are happy to announce an all new real-world feature of Slayaway Camp! On the third Friday of every month, for the next 6 months, we will be releasing a new Monthly Murderer via our official mailing list (sign up at the Slayaway Camp website).

As long as you're on the mailing list, every month you will receive a super secret Killer Kode which you can use inside the Slayaway Camp settings menu to unlock an exclusive permanent killer for your collection!

To commemorate the US Election, this month's murderer is... President Skullface! Republican or Democrat, we can all come together for a bipartisan slaughteration of annoying sex & drug crazed teenage camp counsellors.

To get President Skullface, open up the Settings menu inside Slayaway Camp and slide the Slider of Sliders all the way to the right, then scroll down to the bottom of the settings!

Enter the Killer Kode: campgate2016 to unlock President Skullface! (Be sure to enter it exactly as shown)...

Feel free to keep the Killer Kode a secret, or share it with your closest friends. This is the last one we'll post to the Steam forums, so to get any of the future killers, be sure to sign up to the mailing list today!

Happy slaying, everyone, and have a great weekend!!

I knew i was shooting myself in the foot calling the last update the 'Deadly Blessings' update. :|

We've just pushed a new fix (1.08.2) which resolves an issue with last night's update for players who use a system language other than English. The errors were due to some in-development work we are working on behind the scenes in preparation for wider localisation in the future. One of the changes accidentally made its way into a live build and was wreaking havoc, but has since been patched and everything should be back to normal again.

We deeply apologise for the inconvenience this caused, and appreciate your patience and reports as we worked to resolve it for you as quickly as possible. The fix should now be available for you to download - if you're still having issues, be sure to fully exit out of Steam to ensure it does the full update.

Some other quick fixes were also made:
  • Replaying some NC17 Levels was causing a bug. A bug which has now been eradicated from existence.
  • When hovering over buttons in the Deleted Scenes menu the UI wasn't responding to your hoverability. It now does.
  • The Bolumetric Dog stops barking at the end of a level - so you'd have to enable him every time you start a new level. We think this is fair. It takes a long time for him to travel between scenes to appear in the background audio of each level, so we felt we needed to give him a rest.
  • Typing in the Killer Code box was restarting your level progress.. we've fixed that for now. BUT YOU SHOULDN'T BE TYPING IN THERE YET, YOU DON'T HAVE A CODE... YET! :) Yet!

Thank you all for your support and kindness as we continue to improve the game...

Happy Slaying!

Hey Killers! ːslayawayknifeː

Just wanted to let you know while EVERYONE ELSE was either flipping out or cheering heartily about the voting results of some sort of Electrical College something or other (sounds pretty deadly, but we’ve got a game to make, people), we were hard at work plugging away on cool new updates for Slayaway Camp. Here’s a list of what you can find in the latest version!

UPDATES MADE
  • We’ve made it a little easier to grind for extra Skull Coins with a couple very important changes. 1) You now get 10 coins for every kill in Faces of Killed 3. This means if you only kill one victim, you will still get 10 coins. Previously you had to reach tiers, meaning you would only get 50 coins if you reached 5 kills, then only get 50 coins until you reach 10 kills, at which point you’d get 100… etc. Now 1 kill = 10 coins, 2 kills = 20 coins, etc. ALSO if you reach a certain streak of kills you will begin getting double coins (20) for every kill, so it pays to do well! We’ve also optimized some of the Faces of Killed animations so they should be a bit smoother / not affect your accuracy when animating the kill bar. COINS!!!
  • You know how sometimes you get stuck on a puzzle but you don’t want to cheat and use the walkthrough for the puzzle, but you also can’t really figure it out so you leave the game and go make spaghetti or something, then you think of the answer to the puzzle because you can’t stop thinking about it? Well now you can just skip the level (using the FFWD button) instead of making spaghetti, and come back to complete the level later. While this does mean you won’t be making spaghetti, it does mean you can continue solving puzzles that might be a little easier and the resulting brain massage might give you new ideas on how to solve the previous puzzle! We made it so you can’t skip “boss” puzzles (the final puzzle in every movie) since those ones are supposed to be hardcore and if you can’t do it it just means you need to TRY HARDER! Or you can always get the hint ;)
  • You know how you buy a Gorepack from the shop shelf and it sits there all shiny on your shelf looking cool, but not much else until you actually play a puzzle and hope that random Gorepack comes up? Well now Gorepacks can be previewed from your Gorepack shelf. So you can watch them with your friends over and over until you DIE FROM LAUGHING.
  • If you pause the game when playing with a gamepad, you should see nice little gamepad prompt showing you what gamepad buttons control what on-screen options. Its helpful and they go away if you un-pause.
  • Menu text now appears highlighted on menus when tooltips are disabled. Minor bug. Was annoying.. now fixed.
  • Sometimes you’d be playing a beach level and you’d get a weird alien guy as your bonus kill. It was weird. Aliens should only appear if you’re in space. Now Weird victims no longer appear during bonus kills. It’s not as weird anymore. Though I guess the concept of a bonus kill is a little weird in itself…
  • We fixed a few bugs that appeared on the super hardcore NC17 levels. Only the super hardcore players will care about this.
  • A handful of minor bug fixes. Only a handful of minor players will care about this.

OH!

If you’re browsing the menu, you might see a cool new menu option called “Killer Code”… We’re super sinister, so we’re not even going to tell you what that’s about until the next update! But…. if you’re interested and are worried you might be making spaghetti when we announce it, be sure to sign up to our mailing list at www.slayawaycamp.com — it’s a new feature we’ll be announcing very very soon and I promise you gals and guys will want to be involved from the very start :)

HELP US HELP YOU

Also don’t forget to leave a review on Steam if you like what we’re doing. It goes a long long way when telling other people that you think the game is awesome! If you don’t think it’s awesome… well, just tell us why and we can make it more awesome for you!!!

Wanted to give you guys a heads up we at Blue Wizard have just announced our second game, Space Tyrant and it has launched in Steam Greenlight like a newborn baby ready for your oohs and aaahs at just how DAMN TYRANTY IT IS!!!

VOTE TODAY!: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=787640283

It is a space strategy game in the 4X vein, but with a heavy lean on humour and rapid fire fun, meant to be able to be played in shorter sessions. Where usually space strategy games are super dry and spacey and technical and take forever to do anything, Space Tyrant is all about destruction and domination and giant lasers and explosions and pretending you're a waaaay cooler version of Kylo Ren.

You can vote YES for Space Tyrant right now, and that means it will hit Steam sooner than later!
