Now that we're back on track with 2.0 we'll be updating on a much more frequent basis. There's a lot of new feedback coming up already, so we want to address it as fast as possible. Here is what's new in this day 1 update:
Bugfixes
Mouse cursor no longer disappears when leaving the blueprint view
URI field now correctly auto selects on field click
Input fields now get properly updated if unselected via click
Grid size now updates correctly when changing card size
Improvements
Blueprints now display all the layers below with transparency for better reference
Card edge lines are now displayed on blueprint edit and card edit
Previous selected color is now displayed on the color picker
Card sets can now be moved up/down via context menu
Panel content is copied to both childrens when splitting to avoid data loss
Changed merge field button to right click to avoid merging by mistake
Added labels to radial menu items
Removed "X" icon on empty panels because they made no sense
Layer sliders now snap to integer values
Output now prompts to overwrite if a file exists at the output path

After months of hard work, we are proud to introduce you to the new Card Creator! We gathered a huge deal of feedback from the initial version and worked since to deliver a completely re-imagined version.
New features
Blueprint editor
The most requested feature overall was to be able to completely customize the design of the cards. Our response is the "blueprint editor", a completely new tool that allows you to define any kind of card format (blueprint) you can imagine and use it as a template to quickly create all the cards you want with it. Split your card into as many areas you like and assign each one with one of the panel types (text, image or icon for now, more are coming).
Card editor
Once you have your format defined, you can instantiate as many cards as you like and edit the contents of each one. Click over a text piece to edit it, over an image to re-assign it, or over an icon to pick one from the new icon gallery with tons of new icons and re-organized categories.
Collection editor
The new collection editor is no longer a card list with a single preview, but a complete array of your cards as if they were placed over the table, all with realtime previews responding to any format or content changes. We've also added the much requested card sets, so you can arrange the cards in your collection into many different sets, each one with its own (or shared) blueprint.
Layers, format grid, card size, bleeding, back side edit, UX improvements
We've added multiple layers to the blueprint editor in case you need more control for advanced formats, full edge bleeding support for print & play prototypes, back side edit and export and many other features.
Output
We've revamped the output screen completely. Now it's easier to know how your collection will be printed with just a glance. You may also choose your paper format and orientation. The output pdf even includes cut lines and is aligned so you'll be able to easily print the back of your cards.
Version notes
Please be kind
We did a lot of testing before releasing this version but errors may happen. The first days after we'll patch any reported bugs and start working on the next update (this one wont take that long...).
Roadmap
If you want to know what's next, be sure to check out our feature roadmap at: https://trello.com/b/WxLZOIDR/card-creator We update this on a daily basis since it works also as our to-do list.
Legacy version
If you are currently working on a project with the previous version of Card Creator, we've enabled a legacy version so you can keep using your projects. This format will no longer be supported in newer versions.
You may find out more about opting in for this version in this post, under "Product Betas". You'll find the previous version of CardCreator as "legacy".

We would like to bring some updates about the stuff we are working on these days.
As you know, we take your feedback very seriously and try to meet all your request as soon as possible. We've been collecting your suggestions and we've designed the new interface of CardCreator around them, trying to make it versatile, fun and easy to use at the same time.
I'm here today to share with you some of this progress and hopefully collect some more feedback based on what you can see in this post.
Split Editor
We came up with a new way to design the layout of your cards: the split tool. With this tool you can simply cut any panel to create a new field next to it. This lets you create a blueprint really fast while keeping the design tidy and organized.
Panel Content
Now you'll be free to arrange the fields' content of your card exactly the way you want. No restrictions here.
Card Redimension
Many of you have asked for a way to define the size of your cards with absolute values instead of having to deal with the, sometimes abstract, aspect ratio. Here's our proposal.
Layers
In case you have in mind a very intrincate design, the app will allow you to work with layers to easily organize and overlap your panels.
Customization
Every content type will expose some custom fields, including default values, to help you make the coolest card collection in a matter of minutes.
Well, that's all for now. We hope you like the path we're taking for this upcoming huge update ;)
Feel free to comment anything that might come to your mind.

Despite the lack of regular updates, we are actively working as hard as ever on CardCreator every day.
Open Roadmap
A few weeks ago, we decided to open our internal Roadmap so anyone interested could see exactly what we are working on right now. You may find out more about this in its own post.
Minor Patches
Some of you have pointed out a couple of patches that have been delivered without their corresponding announcement.
We thought it wasn't necessary since they were built to address some issues under the hood that some users were experiencing. Clearly, this was a wrong assumption and we would like to apologize to everyone for any confusion this may have caused.
Patch v1.0.6
Added a cache system for image textures to prevent out of memory situations.
Patch v1.0.7
Improved texture cache system to use less memory and gain performance.
Fixed a bug that would render the illustration of the first card incorrectly when exporting.
Next Steps
We're really excited with the new editor we are working on. We think it's gonna be a huge improvement to CardCreator that will bring more versatiliy and easy of use to the tool.
Expect some updates about this in discussions section on the next days ;).
