Hello Hunters,
Before we bring you the ATV DLC - which will be out soon - we wanted to release a patch to fix issues that have been of concern to the community.
Patch 1.8 introduces the new outposts in both Hirschfelden and Layton Lake while also updating the animal respawn system. This fixes the exploit near Lake Kraken too. Please note that this will remove your discovered need zones. The empty tutorial box that got stuck after harvesting an animal has been fixed as well.
After releasing the Shooting Range, players requested improved feedback for shot placement and we are happy to release this feature as well. The terrain on low-quality settings will also no longer obstruct targets, and buttons can only be used from within the control room.
Multiplayer is high on our list of improvement areas, and this patch introduces some first steps, but you can expect more of this in the future. Bullet trajectories and scopes are now correctly synchronized in multiplayer, so you will see exactly where shots of other players land, for all weapons. We made additional changes to how your rewards are communicated when you harvest an animal of a shared takedown. Instead of showing the total rewards, you will now see the rewards you receive based on your participation. Filtering multiplayer games by distance now works correctly and the default amount of players when creating a multiplayer session has been increased to 8.
The previously announced adjustments to Tents & Ground Blinds roll out with this patch. Purchasing the Tents & Ground Blinds DLC from now on will grant 5 tents and 5 ground blinds, while players who bought additional tents and / or ground blinds beforehand, will be refunded their in-game currency, corresponding to a maximum of 5 tents and 5 ground blinds.
This is not all, as we made balance changes to missions, aiming to make them fairer to complete. As always, you can find the full list below and we are looking forward to your feedback while continuing to improve the game.
Let us know what you think about the changes in our dedicated forum thread and we look forward to bringing you the ATV DLC shortly.
Happy Hunting!

Hello Hunters,
We hope you’ve enjoyed the jigsaw puzzle challenge and are as excited about the upcoming DLC release as we are. As many of you have correctly guessed, we will be adding an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) to the theHunter: Call of the Wild! The lucky winners of our Steam competition are Bishop, Xi Law, Harkon[DGA], Climply & djiskool. I will reach out to the winners via Steam.
The ATV has been a highly requested feature in the theHunter franchise for many years, and with the new Apex technology powering theHunter: Call of the Wild, we finally felt that we could do it justice. The brand new Saber 4x4 ATV will be released soon via Steam for $3.99.
Reveal Trailer:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ry93SPMvesE&feature=youtu.be An ATV offers the perfect way to traverse the hunting reserves in a fun, yet efficient way. You can, of course, drive it in singleplayer games, but also in multiplayer. Only one player needs to own the DLC for all of you to enjoy it. Before we get into the details, we just want to be clear that we’re still committed to fair and ethical hunting. To that end, you will never be shooting while you’re riding, and you can’t run down animals as you ride. The ATV was designed as a mode of (really fun!) transportation across great distances.
As a gesture of appreciation to our most loyal players, everyone who already owns the “Tents & Ground Blinds” DLC, as well as all the early birds who purchase the brand new 'Mile a minute' DLC bundle (ATV + Tents & Ground Blinds), will receive a 30 percent discount. This is a limited time offer and only available for 7 days after the release of the ATV.
As promised, we also have an exciting update, available to everyone. Together with this new optional DLC, we’ll release Patch 1.8 which will contain the regular bug fixes and performance improvements. Additionally, it contains 6 new outposts per reserve, providing additional fast travel options. This is a tweak that many players have asked for, and we feel it will provide a smoother and more enjoyable experience for everyone, regardless if you decide to get the ATV DLC or not.
We’ll host a pre-release stream later this week where you can check out the ATV in all of its glory - more information will follow in a separate Steam announcement as well as on Twitter.

Hello Hunters,
Today, we have a lot of exciting news for you! First and foremost, we know that many of you are waiting for Patch 1.8. We’re happy to announce that it will drop next week. More information on all the upcoming fixes will follow.
We are also kicking off a new exciting community challenge today. At the end of it, sometime next week, we’ll unveil a new and unique piece of content. What we’re about to roll-out has been one of the most requested features since the announcement of the game. This is a project we started some time ago, and it has required the use of additional resources not to affect our regular schedule including bug fixes – but we hope you’ll agree it has been worth the effort!
The content is going to be released as optional paid DLC. It will be available to use in single player games or together with friends in multiplayer – and only one player is required to own the DLC for everyone in the online session to enjoy it. And as a cherry on top, we will make a related tweak that we believe will be appreciated by all hunters.
Starting today, we will reveal a new piece of the above jigsaw puzzle every day. The daily reveals can be found in our dedicated forum thread, where you can also discuss the challenge and work on solving the riddle together with your fellow hunters. The first 5 players to correctly guess the new content will receive a prize from us after the release.
So join us over the next few days and uncover what the new content is! We can’t wait to share it with you.
