DEEPEN BONDS & AND INCREASE PROWESS
Grow your connection by petting, giving treats, or playing. As you get to know each other and hunt more often, its efficiency will gradually improve. When it’s time to head back to the lodge, expect the Labrador to be there too, happily wagging its tail.

Name your pooch, choose its appearance, and assign traits that match your hunting style. Decide between male or female and seven unique fur coat variations! What’s more, you can also add multiple dogs to your roster for rotation in each new hunt.

The Companion Update
Alongside the Labrador Retriever, we’ve released the free Companion Update which includes a few improvements to the dog-related systems in the game and multiple bug fixes.

NEW FEATURES
  • Not sure if you’ve invested in the right skills for your companion? Players can now use in-game currency to reset and reassign their dog’s unlocked Traits. As it turns out, this old dog can learn new tricks after all.
  • If a dog’s name suddenly lost its charm, players are now able to rename their hunting companion.
Developer’s Note: Changing the name will cost 1000 in-game cash.
  • We’ve added an option to retire a dog from the kennel. All good dogs deserve good rest.
Developer’s Note: Keep in mind that you’re not going to get back money spent on the retired dog!
ADJUSTMENTS & IMPROVEMENTS

  • A new dog commands section has been added to the key bindings menu.
Developer’s Note: Players can now map dog commands to keyboard and controller buttons easily.

  • We’ve fixed an issue where if two or more players shoot the same Crocodile, the listed body parts were different from their respective X-ray images on the Harvest Screen.
  • Clicking on someone's name in the Multiplayer screen and then clicking somewhere else will now close the dropdown menu.
  • Dogs should now correctly spawn for players in a Multiplayer session.

Who’s a good friend that walks on four legs, fetches small game on land or in water, and loves your company more than anyone else in the world?

We know someone who does: the Labrador Retriever, your faithful new hunting partner!

Waiting ever so patiently for their forever home, this loveable pup is arrives on November 28th for $5.99. You can wishlist it now on Steam and Epic Games Store.

WELCOMING OUR NEWEST FAMILY MEMBER

The second dog to be released for theHunter: Call of the Wild, the Labrador Retriever isn’t just adorable - it’s an intelligent, versatile companion that empowers you to hunt in an efficient new way. By being able to, on command, fetch any rabbit, hare, waterfowl, or upland bird on land or in water, your Lab will tirelessly pick up harvests around you by order of priority, starting with the one you are aiming at. In other words, it allows you to continue searching for your next target without interruption. But perhaps more importantly, it’s a loyal, paw-lite friend to share the joy of hunting with; a reliable partner who has your back.

Similar to the Bloodhound, you can grow your connection to your Lab by petting it, giving it treats, or playing with it. In turn, as you get to know each other and hunt more often, its efficiency will improve over time.

Naturally, even the best hunters deserve a break every now and then. When it’s time to head back to the lodge for an evening of relaxing, you can count on your trusty sidekick to be there with you, happily wagging its tail.

Of course, you will be able to name your dog, choose its fur coat variation, and assign traits that match your hunting style. You can also add multiple dogs to your roster, making it easy to pick which one to hunt with. It is available as both male and female in seven unique fur coat variations: Black, Yellow, Chocolate, Silver, Charcoal, Fox Red, and Champagne.

Lastly, as we continue to refine dog behavior and plan for future dog utility improvements, we will be adjusting the Bloodhound DLC price to $5.99 early next year to match the Labrador Retriever. If you’ve thought about adding it to your hunting roster, now is the time to do it!
