The Trailblazer Beta, what does it entail?
It’s a chance for you to, during a limited period, experience changes to the game before they are technically “live”. It’s also a way for us to test updates without “committing” them to the main version of the game.
How long does the Trailblazer Beta run for?
The Beta will be available from now, Friday August 9th, until Monday August 12th.
How can I get involved?
Right-click theHunter: Call of the Wild in your Steam library and click “Properties.'' A window will open, then click the tab at the far right labeled “Betas”, you will then come to a window that looks like the one below:
Please enter the following code in the box (without the quotation marks): “CalloftheWild”, then CLICK “Check Code” (just hitting enter won’t work). You should now notice that your game will start an update, this will be the Open Beta build installing.
Note: The download can potentially be large, and this will need to be re-downloaded as you switch between the live/Open Beta clients, so those on metered internet connections please bear that in mind.
So what happens to my old build and save files?
Nothing. When you start the Open beta client your game will be entirely “fresh”, you’ll have no save game, cash, skills etc. But don’t worry, this has NO effect on your “live” version of the game, you can switch back and forth at any time (see the next point below).
Note: We DO have a means for you to get up and running quickly in the Trailblazer Beta. Hit “Escape” and go to the Hunt Club Beta menu, there’ll be a reward there where you can claim a large sum of credits, a big XP boost and weapon score points in all categories.
I’ve had enough of testing the Open Beta for now, how do I go back to my normal version of the game?
Do the initial same steps as when installing the Open Beta, but when you get to the Beta tab you should not fill in a code. Instead in the drop-down box saying “Select the beta you would like to opt into:” you simply pick “None - opt out of all beta programs” and your client will run a small update. After that, you can play the normal version of the game again. You can switch back and forth between the live version and Open Beta/Trailblazer Programme at any time during the period just by using that dropdown menu.
How do I provide feedback or report issues I’ve found during the Open Beta/Trailblazer Programme?
We are in the process of deploying a small hot-fix to yesterdays release. Please see the change below:
Fixed issue with TRURACS antlers not being created correctly.
Note: Although no new instances of incorrectly scored (1000+) animals will be generated, some will remain on your map until they have been hunted. Once these have been harvested they will be removed from your animal population permanently. This is a route that is being taken to avoid us performing a population reset if at all possible.

We are pleased to announce that the Treestand and Tripod Equipment Pack is now live!
The Treestand and Tripod Pack is an optional paid DLC ($3.99/€3.99 or local equivalent) that allows you to take on an entirely new perspective on hunting from the raised position of dedicated stands.
For full details please read our patch notes below:
New Features
New Equipment: Treestand The staple of a patient hunter, the Deployable Treestand allows you to bide your time until the perfect opportunity to catch the animal unaware. Check your environment for a fitting tree for your ambush, place your stand at an appropriate height and climb up to your new perch. You can also easily adjust and replace it if you are unhappy with your initial placement. Once you’re ready, sit back, relax and watch as you await the opportunity to take that perfect shot. Additionally, it reduces your impact on your surroundings, reducing hunting pressure significantly. There are three different variations available, upon purchase of the “Treestand & Tripod Pack” DLC you will find one of each in your-in-game storage. Additional stands can be purchased with in-game currency up to a total of 32 Treestands per reserve.
New Equipment: Tripod Stand With a 360° rotation capability, the deployable Tripod Stand allows you a better vantage point even when there are no trees around. The Tripod Stand is an excellent way to gain an overview of your surroundings and allows you to spot animals from a much greater distance. On top of that, they will keep you concealed, are lightweight and easy to deploy and lowers your hunting pressure on your environment. As with Treestands there are three different variations available, one each of which you will find in your in-game storage after purchasing the DLC, likewise you may have up to 32 total Tripod Stands per reserve.
When owning the DLC, visit the closest storage where you can find one Treestand and one Tripod Stand of each variation. Drag them into your backpack and equip them in your inventory. Just like with previous deployables, equip the Treestand or Tripod and you will see a “ghost” model in white if your placement is valid or in red if not. For Treestands, having it equipped will highlight valid trees in your vicinity, aim at a highlighted tree for higher or lower placement and walk around the tree to change the direction it faces.
New Feature: Reduced Hunting Pressure When in Hunting Structures All hunting structures now create drastically less hunting pressure to better support stationary hunting.
New Feature: TruRACS Introduced to Roosevelt Elk
