Redout: Enhanced Edition - Drowne
247 changes from 1.0.5 to 1.1.0

Redout becomes Enhanced: New Location, Global Leaderboards, Liveries!

FREE EUROPA DLC
Added a new racing location: The Europa SRRL Racing Complex
You can now explore Jupiter’s icy moon Europa! Terraforming didn’t work, but an alien sea is the ideal location for freaking-fast racing. We added 5 brand new tracks, some of them running entirely underwater.
The single player Career has been extended to include Europa events, and it now spans more than 100 unique races!

You can watch a preview of the new environment in our Europa Trailer!

LEADERBOARDS
Ever wondered how your best lap compares against the rest of the Redout community? Now you can set records for Time Attack, Pure Time Attack, Speed, Survival and Instagib. Your best result is automatically registered and updated every time you compete!

LIVERIES
Redout now includes ship liveries as collectable Steam items, to show off your driving proficiency. Two base liveries are automatically granted, and you can obtain 8 new liveries by playing. Each is unique for each ship in each racing class, which makes them no less than 240! Each livery can be combined with a color scheme, which creates an insane amount of different combinations.
Go make your ship unique!

Want a sneak peak? Here we are!

OFFICIAL SOUNDTRACK, ARTBOOK AND DELUXE EDITION
The Official Redout Soundtrack and Artbook are now available as separate DLCs. New players can purchase the Deluxe Edition which includes both with a 15% discount on the total price.
Soundtrack has 320kbps MP3s as well as lossless Wave files!

FREE DEMO
Redout now features a Free Demo version. Try before you buy.
Not sure you feel this anachronistic as much as we do, but we were in love with free demos during our childhood. Can you blame us?

DESIGN & BALANCE
  • Level cap raised to 35
  • Reviewed all survival events: obstacles have a lesser slow down effect
  • Added Pure Time Attack game mode in Quick Race
  • Slightly increased Turbo performances for Conqueror, Lunare, ESA
  • Slightly increased engine power for ESA
  • Slightly increased wall damage (10%)
  • Solved a bug for which the AI would very rarely use powerups
  • Fixed some contracts that would propose the wrong event and/or the wrong reward

  • Option to change audio to 5.1 or 2.0
  • Added Windowed/Fullscreen option
  • Audio feedback for lobby countdown start

BUGFIXES & STUFF
  • Solved problem with corrupted save files (famous RedoutSettings.sav), causing the game to hang in the loading screen. No more, bad game. No more. Learn how to behave!
  • Settings are now properly saved and loaded. No more changing options everytime you open the game
  • VRWorks updated to latest release
  • Many Localization fixes. Gotta hate languages
  • Ships sometimes stopped emitting chemical trails to control your minds. Now you are ours again.
  • Layouts and layout showcase adapts to your last input (keyboa
    rd or pad)
  • Solved a bit of crashes here and there. This is always good

Redout: Enhanced Edition - Drowne
A total of 97 changes from 1.0.4 to 1.0.5

IMPORTANT THINGS FIRST
  • Chroma SDK integration - and it's marvellous if you have these devices: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AihLBrJBufk
  • Initial tutorial to better explain our unique driving mechanic (Strafe & Pitch)!
  • Colors unlock now actually works :) Have fun unlocking and trying out 20+ new colors for your ships! And trade them from your Steam inventory!
  • You know when you just put something somewhere and then you completely forget where you left that and never manage to find it again? That was happening for some of your medals. No more.
  • Now you get the "Finish" message as soon as possible after you finished your race

MULTIPLAYER
  • Fixed a problem where travelling alone without a towel was causing the host to freeze up

VISUALS
  • Fixed most anti-aliasing issues in the menu

VR
  • For some reason, Unreal was losing its focus after loading a map and you had to click on the game to regain it. Well, that was annoying, but we fixed it

BUGFIXES & STUFF
  • The game now launches as FORCE NO VR mode, as VR for non-VR users were causing resolution issues
  • Fixed a problem in Score mode that was causing messy and pseudo-randomic positions to show up after the finish line
  • Audio feedback for the energy pool was a bit too late to be truly useful, now it has better timing
  • Fixed some issues with specific contracts not being enforceable in your country
  • Fixed some issues with specific contracts giving out random payouts
  • Fixed a bunch of typos in pretty much every locale
  • Fixed an initialization issue for platinum times
  • Added even more amazing people in the credits!
  • Restarting a race from the pause menu was causing the audio countdown to be played in

Why collect monsters or ugly footballers, when you can collect shiny hoverships capable of racing at insane speeds, and the exotic locations where these races are held? It's finally time for Redout trading cards!

If you don't know how it works, Steam will just grant cards as you play Redout. You don't need to be necessarily winning races or grind platinum medals to obtain them: everyone is a winner! The newly obtained cards will appear in your Steam inventory. You can collect half of the cards this way: you'll need to trade them with your friends to complete your collection (missing cards? head to our forums).

Do so, and you'll get some sick Steam badges, profile backgrounds, and emoticons!

Redout: Enhanced Edition - Drowne
A total of 188 changes from 1.0.3 to 1.0.4

IMPORTANT THINGS FIRST
  • Fixed the horrific Augmented Propeller regression bug. This was such a destroying event that it ended up in the game lore! Now you can go back to race faster than ever!
  • Anti-cheating measures have been integrated into the deepest code of the game, now you can safely play in multiplayer. And if you still lose, it’s your fault :)
  • Lore! Discover the history of each team, individual ships powerups, world and track in the Redout world!
  • Added 20+ new ship colors as unlockable items: play more, get more, pimp yo ride ;)
  • TRADING CARDS NOW AVAILABLE! (Well, ready. Coming as soon as Valve hits the big green button!)

DESIGN & BALANCE
  • Now ship colors have names: enjoy your Torino GT9 Stradale or the Halloween special “Pumpkin Night”
  • Lunare: increased overall speed, slightly better energy recharge, slightly less life
  • ESA-AGR: increased overall speed, greatly improved turbo boost power, better energy recharge
  • Conqueror: slightly increased overall speed, slightly increased turbo power
  • Fixed Boss portals positions in Cairo, now more fair

VR
  • Enabled positional head tracking in VR mode
  • Multiresolution rendering enabled for VR users (huge performance increase)
  • Added more launch options from the steam app (Oculus, Vive, OSVR, Desktop). If you have an Oculus, running the game via the Oculus SDK brings you more than a 20% fps increase.
  • Vive: better world scale, especially in the cockpit view
  • Fixed a crash happening in VR when changing advanced options after a race
  • Fixed crash starting a race in VR
  • General performance improvements in VR, especially on Nvidia GPUs
  • Turned off portals in VR, everyone hated them including ourselves. Sorry for those headaches.
  • Fixed Kinetic Lines in VR

VISUALS
  • More sandstorms in Cairo Calima!

AUDIO
  • Soundtrack low-end frequencies got a fancier balance

BUGFIXES & STUFF
  • Trained the AI to not die like a blindfolded drunk driver in Volcano Hell
  • Online: fixed a bug preventing the players to go back to the lobby after host gets eliminated
  • Fixed Photo Finish achievement
  • For some reason the HUD in third person camera was disappearing for the Lunare and the ESA-AGR. Now it stays in place
  • You couldn’t rotate your ship in the garage, now you can and you should, those new colors aren’t gonna observe by themselves
  • Chinese localization is now working properly
  • Fixed some other localization issues. A lot of them
  • VRWorks library updated
  • Update to Unreal Engine 4.13
  • Update to FMod 1.08.14
  • Turned off the "Use Stencil for LOD Dither Fading" in Project Settings/Rendering. No idea what this means, but apparently was important at the time and sounds like fun. It was more like a reminder to ourselves, but if you got this far in reading the changelog, you deserve something more
  • Added some more people into the credits. That’s because we scaled up QA and musicians, recently. And those guys are amazing!

STEAM
  • STEAM controller support, official layout

KNOWN BUGS
  • Portals in Boss Modes are jet black on Oculus. If this happens launch the game in non-vr mode, go to settings and set the portals quality to low. Restart the game in VR and they should work.
