You’ve ran through the Ikea warehouse shouting “It’s coming home!” You’ve rearranged H&M’s display of folded t-shirts into a Saint George’s Cross. You’ve had a football bouncing around inside your Electrolux washing machine for coming up two days now. You’re posting packs of Panini World Cup stickers to yourself then shouting as they fall through the letterbox. How else can you display your twin loves of Engerland and balls? By covering your Bus Simulator 18 buses with flags and truncated icosahedrons, using a free new skin pack. Other national and pro-ball liveries are available. (more…)

Dear bus drivers,

In order to thank you for your great support and feedback since the game launched we have just released our new Bus Simulator 18 - Country Skin & Decal Pack in form of a free DLC here on Steam for you!

https://store.steampowered.com/app/886910

Country Skins:
While the stillalive studios developer team is working on the upcoming updates the astragon Entertainment artists created a number of new wraps for your Mercedes-Benz Citaro K buses for you. This collection of 40 unique bus skins will come handy if you want to show who you support as you drive through the streets of Seaside Valley.

The list of featured country themes includes: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, England, France, Germany, Iceland, Iran, Italy, Japan, Morocco, Netherlands, Nigeria, Panama, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Serbia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey, Uruguay, USA.

All these themes are 100% compatible with the Citaro K in-game bus. You can use the skins on all the other buses as well, but some designs won’t be a perfect fit and there might be some overlaps.

Decal Pack:
We also heard some of you are football/soccer enthusiasts, so we thought that in addition to all the country skins it might be a good idea to give our fans the chance to customize their in-game buses with a bunch of football/soccer decals.

With these stickers on your bus, everyone will know you’re a football/soccer fan wherever you go in the beautiful city of Seaside Valley.

The list of featured decals includes: Ball as sun, Ball on fire, Crest 1, Crest 2, Crest 3, Crest 4, Crowd, Fair play, Framed ball, Goal!!!, Love the game, Love, Oleeeee, Soccer field, Soccer field 2, Soccer shoe, Soccer shoe 2, Soccer player, Soccer pennant, Score, Stadium, Stars, Scarf, Trophy, Winner fist, and 40 country names in the respective languages.

Bus Simulator 18 - PsychoCow
Dear bus drivers,

Our first update for Bus Simulator 18 is now available for download here on Steam. Its focus lies on a number of performance-, controller- and steering wheel- improvements as well as numerous bug and localization fixes. More detailed information can be found in our patch notes below:

Patchnotes June 25, 2018

#techart
  • Fixed numerous framerate drops, especially the one while the general hint widget is shown.
  • Added a one-time-only popup at startup which tells you to activate PS4 controller support in Steam, if one is connected
  • How much the in-game steering wheel rotates is now defined by the max angle on the BS18GameInstance (only if an actual steering wheel controller is connected)
  • Added Logitech G920 steering wheel preset
  • Added controller sensitivity settings
  • Added SteeringWheel_LookLeftButton, SteeringWheel_LookRightButton, SteeringWheel_ResetCamPositionButton bindings
  • Added steering wheel max range setting to the steering wheel settings
  • Tobii, TrackIR and mouse steering settings are now only deactivated instead of hidden if they are not available
  • Implemented new relative steering mode (and hooked up the respective settings)
  • The cockpit zoom FOV is now always 50% of the cockpit FOV (so it also works better on triple monitor setup)
  • Steering wheel buttons that are bound to virtual axle now work in-game (throttle / brake)
  • Some steering settings are now disabled or enabled depending on the steering mode (relative / absolute)
  • Increased possible FOV Range from 60-140 to 60-170
  • Additional settings are now also reset once you reset the controls
  • Allow achievements with installed mods, but not on installed mod maps
  • Added button in the mod manager widget to disable unsubscribed mods
  • Buses from deactivated mods will temporarily be replaced with a rental bus
  • Bus stops are again shown on the UI minimap
  • Updated FR, JA, KO and PT translation
  • Added a minimum view pitch to the player controller to fix an issue with flipping camera orientations
  • Fixed a wrong key check in rebind controls popup widget (Gamepad Trigger Left was checked twice instead of Left and Right)
  • Fixed that rebinding a key/axis to the same key/axis could lead to nothing being bound even though it would show up in the UI
  • Fixed that Tobii settings were always greyed out
  • Fixed that if a player would change steering wheel controls and then updates to a new version, which had new axles (lookleft/lookright/centercam) they would not be able to rebind those until they reset the controls once
  • Fix loud music event log spam
  • Changed ticket machine buttons collider extents to prevent accidentally pressing a neighbor button and enabled the hint overlays for the buttons (but not for ticket machine itself)
  • Replaced intro video with quieter version
  • Language setting is no longer deactivated while the game is playing as the user will be told to restart the game either way
  • Updated localization and deactivated localization on certain objects
  • Changed the way all bus doors are animated to store the target location on the bus-door-component instead (changed all buses to make it work again and tested all of them too)
  • Fixed IVECO buses front door clipping into cockpit
  • Minor fixes of some steering wheel presets.
  • Second camera zoom axis is now correctly rebindable
  • Updated localization

#code
  • It should now be possible to load someone else's single player saves (will be renamed into a new GUID, and ownership will be taken over)
  • Change how session searches are working. Searches are now enqueued and handled one after the other, first come, first serve.
  • Fixed issue that mod ad revenue wasn't displayed correctly in customization menu
  • Savegame update notifications are now only triggered once per frame per type of update, not for each unlocked or changed item immediately. This should fix the issue that on some missions not all unlocks get saved.
  • Separate XP addition and unlocks. Now XP based unlocks are applied retroactively, so if something should have been unlocked but wasn't, it's going to unlock after the next drive.
  • Disable savegame upload to persistent server on clients
  • Retroactively apply all unlocks for missions before the current one whenever a drive is finished.
  • Filter persistent multiplayer savegame lobby searches in main menu by savegame BS18SessionName. Fixes issue that sometimes games were shown as not running, although they were.
  • Update session information every 5 minutes, to have up-to-date UTC timestamps

#audio
  • Reduced volume of intro video
  • Added three bus radio tracks

If Euro and American Truck Simulator left me with a deep envy of lorry drivers and a daydream of becoming one, Bus Simulator 18 leaves me with a deep sympathy for bus drivers and a great terror that I might ever become one. (more…)

Forget Newell’s billions, Plunkbat and whichever indie renaissance is currently happening: the real success story of Steam, over the years, is superficially dour and highly-specific vehicle simulations finding large audiences who have very little interest in steering torque or rim patterns. I have filled these pages with paeans to American Truck Simulator‘s soul-searching road odysseys, to the hypnotic satisfaction of stripping parts in Car Mechanic Simulator 2018, and even to the rhythmic, weirdly cyberpunk otherness of casting lines and gutting trout in Fishing: Barents Sea.

I’d had gentle hope that Bus Simulator 2018 might similarly be more than the sum of its dry, mass transit parts, but actually playing the thing reveals a game working overtime to be charming. This is a bus-driving game that is absolutely delighted> to be a bus-driving game, and wants me to feel the same way. And y’know what? I think I do. And it’s all thanks to Mira Tannhauser, the world’s number one fan of being on a bus. (more…)

In a week full of loud of colourful E3 announcements, what has me most immediately excited is the prospect of getting online with three pals to drive bus routes together in Bus Simulator 18. Released today, it’s a drive-o-business sim about, y’know, driving buses – with multiplayer! You can pass each other while driving your routes, go explore the city on foot together, and even ride the bus as a ticket inspector while your mate takes the wheel. Video games are amazing.

I am further delighted to hear that it has launched with mod tools that will let people create new maps, new buses, new missions, and such. In short, yes, you could create the Vengabus and make it play We Like To Party. (more…)

Dear community,

In the current version of Bus Simulator 18, bus destination signs only support Latin letters. Umlauts and other special characters can’t be used or aren’t displayed correctly.

If you play the game in a language other than German or English and discover strange strings in your bus destination signs, as a work-around you can rename the destination in the game’s route planner– but make sure to use Latin characters only!

We're hard at work trying to create a more satisfying solution.

As much as I enjoy a lonely life on the road with my big rig in American Truck Simulator, I’m also well up for a spot of larking up with my pals in a different transport sim. Bus Simulator 18 is coming next month with four-player online cooperative bus-driving, and it sounds promising. Here, come watch this new trailer with a four-bus convoy taking up the whole road and trundling through town like the world’s slowest hoons. You’ll also see the greatest treat of video game trailers: people squirming and waving controllers as they pretend to play. (more…)
