Hey hey, people. Time for another regular update! Not 0.5 yet but an important step towards it. Find out more below!




With this update we have transitioned from 4.25 to 4.26.

Now what does this mean? Well a lot of things in the future and a major step towards 0.5. One might say the biggest step. It allows us much needed support for the features planned for 0.5. The transition tho might not be as easy as we see it or is expected. Or better yet some issues and problems are expected right now but better to get them away now rather than have them in 0.5.

So please any and all issues you may encounter in this patch, no matter how small or big please report them to us so we can improve the experience for everyone!

Even though we know yall managed to make your own "improvised metal/mine detectors", here are some actual legit ones.
Heading to a well known POI and don't want to die from mines? Pop out the metal detector.
You have a suspicion that some sneaky nemesis buried his loot in the area? Pop out the metal detector.
You want to roleplay that weird old guy at the beach looking for treasure? Pop out the metal detector.
Want to find remnants of aliens so you can bother everyone on social media? Pop out the metal detector.

So how does it work ingame?

First off we have 2 of them as the picture shows, military and improvised. So here is the difference between them.

  • Improvised cannot be repaired while Military can be with Electrician toolkit.
  • Military has bigger range than improvised.
  • Military holds bigger battery than improvised.

To craft an improvised metal detector, in addition to items required you will also need at least medium engineering skill.

Now, as for the mechanic itself it's pretty simple. You will need to have the detector in your hands and some battery charge. Then simply press TAB and right click it for the Turn on option.



Your character will start sweeping the ground looking for any metal. Proper metal not that pozer stuff the mainstream listens to, but that hardcore band you found one night drunk at 3am on youtube.



You will hear beeping sound and closer you are to a find the more frequent will beeping be. It is that simple.





Alright hoarders your time to shine now. Presenting further lock protection!

Got tired of the same old zappers and want some spice in that zap? We got you.

There are now 3 different zappers:
  • Level 1- Basic
  • Level 2 - Medium
  • Level 3 - Advanced

For each zapper you need the appropriate engineering skill. So basic for basic, medium for medium and advanced for advanced.
Appropriately they each do different damage:
  • Level 1- 0.5 per fail.
  • Level 2 - 1 per fail.
  • Level 3 - 1.5 per fail.
Now you see the previous change of separating slots was actually planned, shocking I know!



Or better to say one sign. Yo want to tell people you mean business about protecting your base? Or you could just place it on empty field to troll others. A new sign got you covered:




  • Fixed the bug where it was possible to build some floating elements.
  • Fixed a possible ammo duplication bug.
  • Fixed the bug where the game would reset your settings on restart.
  • Fixed the bug where some parts of scope reticles could become invisible.
  • Fixed the bug where flare sound would hang after player would get shot by it.
  • Fixed the bug where it was possible to melee autolock on players behind cover (walls etc.).
  • Fixed the bug where lock breaking would not give Thievery XP.
  • Fixed the bug where Sentry audio would hang.

  • Fixed the bug where you could build window fortifications outside of windows.


  • Squad rank lock accessibility now available for doors as well.
  • You can now adjust light level on lanterns.
  • You can now drink soy sauce if you want.
  • You can no longer bury items in H barriers.
  • Item attachments will now take damage if the item takes damage.
  • Added an option to map ADS hold/toggle.
  • Remapped scope zoom to mousewheel due to feature above.
  • Chests are no longer damaged by melee or explosives.
  • Mines now decay after 10 days when inside friendly flag area.
  • Mines now decay faster when outside friendly flag area.
  • Mines now activate on anyone when outside friendly flag area.


  • Player names are now hidden when drone HUD is disabled.
  • Admins can now spawn small animals.
  • Server owners can now choose to disable lethal traps/mines on the server.

A new command is added:
#renameVehicle <idOrAlias> <Alias>

First argument is the ID (or alias if it has one) of the vehicle. The other argument is the new alias of the vehicle. Alias is case insensitive and it cannot be a number.

Command #destroyVehicle <idOrAlias> can be used with ID or alias.

Command #listSpawnedVehicles will now also display the alias of the vehicle if it has one as the last column.

Command #teleportToVehicle <idOrAlias> <player> can be used with ID or alias.

The Bierbunker



The Bierbunker on its island has been home to many serious criminals and petty criminals since October 2019. Okay, let's be honest - especially petty criminals who think they're felons.

There is no escape from the island, so be careful. Because dangers lurk everywhere - animals, zombies and of course the other prisoners not to be forgotten. They all make life difficult for you.

Even on a prison island like the beer bunker, there are a few rules that are monitored by three guards.

Of course, the mob - uh - want to be entertained, the dangerous felons. The ancient Romans already knew that. In addition to occasional Friday events for light entertainment, all inmates are therefore invited to take part in the purge every Saturday from 8:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m. Because during the purge, the peaceful areas of the island are also transformed into a battlefield in which robberies and murders take place.

How do you survive in the beer bunker? Do you take care of yourself or are you looking for the protection of a group? Do you work for yourself or do you take it from others? Maybe you're trying to bribe the guards to get weapons and ammunition?
But be careful - if you forge too many intrigues, your fellow prisoners could put a bounty on you!

[EU] The ALCATRAZIUM SCUM Server



-MAX LOOT, VERY HARD ECONOMY, EVENTS, GIVEAWAYS!

Hello SCUMers! We at Alcatrazium server have decided, that It is time for a change. We are setting a new era for the Alcatrazium server.

We will be shifting to PvP Heavily. the new era will be a lot more hardcore than it ever was. The only thing containing in the welcome pack are 1000 coins that you will be able to spend on resources, guns, food and so on. You will have to earn everything. Nothing will be given anymore. With a new event every month players will be motivated to kill as many players as possible, obtain certain items, find certain items on the map with clues, etc. for some great rewards.

Players will be able to separate into 3 different gangs across the scum island. The gangs will not be run by the admins, but by players themselves. All the names will be chosen by the Community. If everyone will agree the sectors will be able to be bought via the gang’s money, resources, guns, etc. Maximum of three gangs will be allowed on the server.

But don't get gangs mixed up with squads in SCUM. Squads are just allied in the same gang. They will be able to gather resources on the gang area, or risk going on the rival side of the territory.
With that said the players are of course allowed to speak to each other trade with each other attend events with each other but of course the gangs will set their own rules as well.

A lot more can be added as the community grows and more and more ideas are presented to admins and the owner. With these updates to the Alcatrazium scum server we are trying to return to the roots that scum has given us with the difficulty of survival but at the same time keep the shop bot active for at least some fun and economy on the server.

With economy being a lot harder than it was, there will be exclusive items added either daily or weekly depending on its rarity and price. The rarer the item, the pricier and the shorter its lifespan on the shop. Don't worry this won't be the only time that such item can be in the shop it can be included multiple times but note, that these items will be a lot pricier than normal ones since they are very difficult to obtain in the game.

There will be some events where the whole community comes to one place to talk with each other share experiences, live chat with the owner himself and present them with new ideas for the server. This will be hosted by the owner himself so no food or drinks needed. Also the guns will be prohibited on the barbecue.

Boom boom room



We are the oldest SCUM server in existence.
Formed in early October of 2018, the Boom Boom Room community has been there through all of SCUM's growth.
We have four admins, two player admins who stream and two non player admins. We cater to the survival experience, 500 puppets with amplified damage. If you do not create a spear after spawning in, you will certainly die quickly. Lower loot to keeps end game out of reach and creates value to high end items. We run on a dedicated server, we do not share our machine with other servers allowing for smooth gameplay. Coming soon with the release of .5 patch we will have a trader in a small PVE zone. A functioning economy will be implemented using in game currency, people will be paid for missions, services, bounties, and items. All trader inventory will be looted and NOT spawned in. Our trader will be a single player/streamer with no affiliation to any other group.   • Electrician and medical gloves are not repairable anymore.


  • Puppet damage and Lock picking can now be disabled in the PvE zones
    -PlayerLockpicking will allow or block lockpicking of player placed locks
    -WorldLockpicking will allow or block lockpicking of world placed locks (Cargo drops, weapon lockers on the island, killbox electrical and normal locks)

Hello folks happy Friday! Nope, it's not 0.5 yet but don't worry it's coming just a little bit more patience. In the meanwhile we are back with our regular updates for you, so kick back, relax and enjoy.



Single doors

It's been a while but fret no further, the single BB doors are making their return. Weather you want to make a whole maze system, make an escape route or just don't want people entering with vehicles.



And yes these new doors are upgradeable!






Locks

As you might've already seen in an announcement made, we have changed the way locking doors work. Instead of just having 5 slots free willy nilly, it is now divided into sections:
  • Locks
  • Lock protection.



This was setup due to balancing reasons. Originally there were always 3 locks maximum planned for the doors.

Level 1 doors will have 2 slots for locks and 1 slot for zappers.
Level 2 doors will have 2 slots for locks and 2 slots for zappers.
Level 3 doors will have 3 slots for locks and 2 slots for zappers.
Pre built doors and cabin doors will have 3 slots for locks and 1 slot for zappers.



Some major changes coming to the cargo drop.



From now on you will see a screen on the cargo drop giving you a timer of how long you got before the drop goes kaboom. Why is this important? Well from now on all lockers inside cargo drops will be locked. That's right, from now on you won't be able to just rush it get all the gear grab it and run off in 1min. Need to put the effort in. However, when the timer hits 25 seconds all lockers will automatically get unlocked. So you still have time to grab something and run.

Now you might be thinking: "I don't like lockpicking, these changes seem to be a bit harsh."

Well finally we have a solution for you.





Crowbar lock breaking can be done only on lockers on the island ( in police stations, inside bunkers, cargo drop lockers).

So what else do you need to break those pesky locks? Well the action is tied to the STR stat and Thievery skill. Higher those numbers are the quicker you will get it open, but if those 2 are too low don't worry you can still get it open, it just takes a bit longer. Also be careful about the noise there, breaking locks is not exactly a ninja thing to do.

Breaking locks this way will damage your crowbar and the contents of the container.



Gone are the days of endlessly drinking from wells!

Wells and water pumps now have a finite amount of water in them. They refill over time and you can always check the amount of water in a well by holding F on it and pressing the new "Check" function.

Now why does that matter you ask?
Because now you can do so much more with your bottles instead of drinking them and throwing them away. You can now transfer liquids between different containers!



Don't want to carry an entire gasoline canister with only 6 uses? Fill that empty Lime Soda in your inventory with gasoline!
You want to gather some fuel reserves at the gas station but don't have a gasoline canister? Those 11 empty water bottles will do the trick!

By holding "F" on a container with liquid, you have 2 new options - Check and Spill.
By using the "Check" function you will get a notification telling you which liquid is in the container.
By using the "Spill" function, you will spill its contents on the ground, allowing you to fill it with a different liquid.



You also do not have to trek to the nearest shore or lake or river to wash you clothes, you can now scrub that blood off at any well! Squeaky clean!

Oh and btw before you madmen start building wells on top of wells on top of wells, only one 1 Water well can be placed per flag, and water wells are disabled outside flag areas.



No longer will you have to fret about sneaky squadmates grabbing stuff from chests and vehicles they shouldn't have access to!



Now you can set specific permissions for locks on vehicles and chests in regards to the squad rank!

If you want a chest or vehicle to be locked for everyone regarding of squad rank, you have the "Private" option.

The squad ranks from highest to lowest are as follows:
Boss, Underboss, Enforcer, Member.

'Underboss' lock access allows only him and the Boss ranks to access the inventory.
'Member' lock access allows all ranks to access the inventory.

The person who placed the lock on the chest or vehicle will always have access to it.




Weapons and attachments, always had a special place in our hearts. Everyone likes to costumize their weapons their own way so we added 2 more attachments to the roster.



2 new suppresors for all you loud ninjas out there, one for the Mosin Nagant M1891 and one for the Kar98 rifle. These can be found in WW2 bunkers, just be careful with the mines!



  • Fixed the bug where destroying foundations near walls or frames it would destroy them as well.
  • Fixed the bug where it was possible to build floating platforms.
  • Fixed the bug where buried traps would sometimes show wrong materials.
  • Fixed the bug where it was possible to arm traps while still in inventory.
  • Fixed the bug where it was possible to see Pick Lock interaction even though it should not be possible.
  • Fixed the bug where wardrobe name would disappear after lockpicking.
  • Fixed the bug where you could not fix construction boots.
  • Fixed the bug where you could not sharpen cleavers.
  • Fixed the bug where wire cutters were not repairable.
  • Fixed the bug where large items in hands would clip through vehicles while entering/exiting.
  • Fixed the bug where holstered weapons would be visible after swapping them while in vehicle.
  • Fixed the bug where Graphic Presets and Dynamic Shadows Quality not showing correct values even though they were properly applied.
  • Fixed the bug where hitting players with cut off arms would not produce correct sound.
  • Multiple level fixes.


  • Modified glove pressure stats when lockpicking.
  • M9 bayonets now deal insignificant damage to BB elements.
  • Reduced damage arrows and bolts deal to players.
  • Disabled the ability to place BB elements on pre constructed Hunting towers.
  • Major improvement in optimizations concerning the amount of items around player.
  • Returning from a game event will now restore the players stance that was active before the event.
  • Adjusted max contained weight on longsheds and tractors.
  • Vehicles should no longer decay in Singleplayer.
  • Replace Rusty lock with Iron lock



We have a new feature incoming for Private servers, and a highly requested one. You can now officially set up your own PvE zones!



PVE SafeZones:

Something new you should find in your server settings is a section dedicated to Custom PvE Zones.

They work similar to how you setup custom zones to play in. Set your X and Y coordinates where the center of the zone will be, set the radius of the zone, determine which types of damage do you want to block or allow, and give your zone a cool name!
Server needs to be restarted after each change .

The following damages can be blocked or allowed:
  • Boxing Damage,
  • Melee Weapon Damage,
  • Throwing Damage,
  • Projectile Damage,
  • Explosive Damage (including vehicle explosions and suicide puppet explosions)
  • Damage to Bases
  • Damage to Vehicles.

And yes you can setup each zone differently.

Thought we were done didn't ya? Nope, as always we got to work and got you a hotfix. Here it is:


  • Fixed the bug where it was possible to build walls on top of cabins.
  • Fixed the inventory size for construction rubber boots.
  • Fixed the bug where items that took glove slots but were not gloves would add pressure to the lockpicking minigame (ex. armguard).
  • Fixed the bug where suicide puppets body parts would cause collision.


  • Increased silent alarm, trap kill and cargo drop notification pop up time to 15 seconds.
  • Renamed the destroy interaction in upgrade blueprints to Cancel.
  • Blueprints no longer offer the flip interaction while you are placing it.
  • Crossbow fire will now attract AI in the same range as bows.
  • Weapon ghillies are now repairable.
  • Black and pink ghillie suits can now only be found in the Killbox.
  • Adjusted pressure stats for thin and thick gloves.
  • Returned Christmas items to the island.
  • Added the winter main menu.
  • Added the ability to choose between auto-reloading or manually reloading the crossbow. When crossbow is equipped press the Check fire mode combination to switch between modes.


  • Vehicles will now list their ID as written in the server database. So when you, for example, delete the #72 vehicle on the list, the new vehicle that spawns will not replace that same ID, but will be placed at the end of the list with a new ID.

    - Now you can use the true/false command to copy it directly to your clipboard (#listspawnedvehicles true)
    - You can now filter specific vehicles types you want listed as well
    Example: #ListSpawnedVehicles true SUVs - this will list all the SUV's and put the output of the command in your clipboard
    You can search all the different types of vehicles we have: SUV's,Quads, Pickups, Tractors,Wheelbarrows.
    If you want all MotorizedVehicles in one place, you can type out #listspawnedvehicles true MotorizedVehicle.
    If you want all player-controlled vehicles (wheelbarrows) you can use the argument #listspawnedvehicles true HumanPoweredVehicles

    When using any of the commands listed above, you will also get a total number of vehicles listed at the end.

Hello everyone, happy Monday!

First of all, as you may have noticed, this is not the 0.5 update you have been waiting for. The major features for 0.5, the ones you've been waiting for a long time now, are not quite in release steady state so we have decided to push the update a bit. Don't worry, it is still coming and quite soon. In the meantime, we are not coming empty handed for this holiday season. We gathered some of the release ready content and much requested balancing tweaks and are releasing them as our regular update to make sure you have something to play with this holiday season. So kick back, enjoy and see what you can wait for in this one:




As promised we looked further into your feedback to the killbox, and made some appropriate changes. Hopefully these will improve the experience we envisioned and make it a bit more balanced.

Here are the changes to the Killbox:

C4



A lot of changes hit the C4 so make sure you familiarize yourself with it:

First of, we will start with how the C4 is being looted in the first place. Don't worry it's still a Killbox only item, but you can no longer straight up just pick up a ready to go C4 explosive device. Now you have a chance to obtain one of 4 items:
  • Packed C4
  • Timer Circuit Board with cables
  • Keypad
  • Detonator with cables

These 4 items and a couple of more will be needed to craft your own C4 device, as was originally intended. With those items you will also need:
  • Duct tape
  • Wire 2x
  • Blastcap
  • Mobilephone
  • Electrician tools

You will also require a medium demolitions skill. This will hopefully also increase the rarity of the devices making them an item of awe and fear for anyone else that has something looking even remotely to a wall.

Another change hitting the C4 is the damage system. Up until now, C4 had one single radius for damage in which it dealt maximum damage to everything. A new system with 3 layers has been implemented to rectify that.
  • Level 1 - The smallest radius. Everything in it is either dead or destroyed
  • Level 2 - Simulates the initial strongest shock wave, deals massive damage in range to whatever it hits first.
  • Level 3- Simulates the remaining force after the shockwave hits the item in front of it. Damage varies to what the object that took initial hit was.

Keycard


  • Keycards can now only spawn behind locked lockers. WW2 bunker lockers do not count.

Door defusal

We have implemented a new system for the defusal of the electric doors in the killbox. For each failed attempt at defusing the door, you will have increased time for next attempt.

Gas

The room should now fill with gas sooner than before. The gas will start releasing at the 5 minute mark instead of 2. This means unless you have a gasmask, you should consume a lethal dose around 3 minute mark, depending on your CON skill.

  • It is tied with rifles skill, due to usage of crossbows is more similar to rifles than archery.
  • Crafting bolts however is tied to Archery skill as it is more similar to arrows.
  • If you have STR under 3.0 you will have a hard time knocking the crossbow.



Gloves will now have an impact on how you lockpick and will influence several different factors.
For example, how much pressure is on the lockpick (how easy they break)

Because of this, we have a few categories of gloves:
  1. Open-finger gloves:
    • they recieve full damage from lock protection items (zappers)
    • they don't add any pressure to lockpicks
  2. Thin gloves
    • they recieve full damage from lock protection items (zappers)
    • pressure increased by 25%
  3. Thick gloves
    • they recieve 50% of damage from lock protection items (zappers)
    • pressure increased by 50%
  4. Special gloves
    • special parameters are set for these gloves
    • for example, bear gloves will not get damaged a lot from zappers, but pressure on lockpicks will be massive

We previously added electrician gloves (thick) and medical gloves (thin) in the game.
Both of those will now protect you from zapper damage, but will also take damage from them and wear out.
Also, please don't try to fight zappers with wet gloves.




We have added 3 more ghillies to the game, reflecting some areas of the map.

First off we have the snow ghillie for that high altitude hunting.



And then we have the Dark ghillie for those Night time operations, or you want to roleplay a modern ninja.



We have also added a Pink ghillie if you are really brave and ready to get shot from a mile away. Because we can.





We have now implemented multiple Radio stations!!! You can switch between them by pressing ALT+J.
So now you can choose thematic tunes to your killings all across the island.

  • Fixed the bug where prisoners entering vehicles would glitch out when teleported to events.
  • Potential fix for key cards expiring after relog.

  • Fixed the bug where improvised workbench would disappear in SP.


  • Increased the rarity of key cards.
  • Decreased the blast radius on the C4 explosive device.
  • Reduced Frag grenade damage to BB elements.
  • Added a panic button to the killbox. Killbox doors now properly close when entered and you can hit the Panic button which opens the door and gives you 30 seconds to exit. Gas starts to fill the room.

We have another update for you and this one is a big one. So prepare your lockpicks and sharpen your screwdrives, let's dive into it!

No video update from us for this one but we have shared the info with some of the content creators you may know. This is experimental as we wanted to provide some content to people that supported us through the years and gave exposure to the game. Introducing the, queue the dramatic drumroll, the Killbox! A new area added to bunkers all around the map that will surely make you fight in the forums how it should work.

This new area works pretty different to the rest of the high loot areas and will require some work to be put into it. So how does it work?

First off you will need to find a brand new item. Keycard. Keycards can be found all over the map, but there is a catch. All keycards only open a certain bunker and can only be used once. To know which bunker the keycard opens look into the keycards description.



Once you managed to make your way to that bunker and unlocking the door you will enter the Killbox and will be greeted by a friendly voice. Once the Killbox door is opened, the 15 minute timer is started.



When the timer hits 2 minutes, the Killbox starts to fill with deadly poisonous gas, which you can withstand if you have the brand new gas mask.



After the timer runs out lasers activate and the Killbox is purged of all living things inside.

"Sounds horrible why would I go in there then?" you ask.

Well my curiosity killed the cat friend, the rooms are filled with high stakes high rewards military loot, guns and ammo. These are going to be even more important since all weapon lockers across the map are now locked and need to be lockpicked. This will not only decrease the amount of military loot available all around, but also increase the survival segment of the game. Chambers of the killbox are also locked, but not with actual locks but magnetic ones. They will need to be opened by the bomb defusal minigame. Careful tho failing to unlock the door means triggering the punishment event, but I don't want to spoil the surprise.

Once inside the chamber you will find locked cabinets with that sweet sweet loot.



There are several types of cabinets and they go like this:
  • 1 rust lock - submachine gun packages
  • 2 rust locks - assault rifle packages
  • 1 silver lock - sniper rifle packages
  • 1 gold lock - 100% chance of getting C4

Wait did I just read C4? Yes, yes you did. C4 is now live and armed on the island.



Once you get through the Killbox and manage to get into the chambers you will find a live and armed C4 explosive device which you will need to defuse. If you manage to defuse it great! You now have C4 explosive device available to you. If not, great! You are now part of the killbox decorations.

Now you may ask, why would I need C4. Well simple answer. Base raiding. C4 is the ultimate breaching tool for bases on the island. Set the C4 by the walls of that pesky neighbors that never returned that lawnmower you loaned to them 3 months ago, set it to blow, get back to a safe distance, and watch their walls disappear. What we are saying is C4 does massive damage to all base building elements.



Oh and btw we realise that we have put a bit more emphasis on the lockpicking currently so we added a smaller more common screwdriver. It has 5 uses but it still works fine.






We touched upon base raiding but what about base building? Some major news on that front.

We have completely revamped the way BB walls work and are made.

The old palisades were great and all but there were a lot of features we wanted to do with them that we could not, plus they kind of stuck out and were not that original feeling we wanted with the game. So introducing new walls to Base buildings.



These walls make more sense in the abandoned island atmosphere and have a couple of nifty little features as well!

Take note that the arrow points to the outside part of the wall.

To start off we have 3 different walls:
  • Wooden walls-No skill engineering
  • Barbed walls-Basic engineering
  • Metal walls-Medium engineering



But here is the catch, these are not 3 seperate walls. Well they are and are not at the same time.

Base building walls are now upgradeable. This means if you want to add more protection you don't have to build another set anymore. Instead simply hold F on the walls and press upgrade, a new blueprint will pop which you can fill and BAM a new wall!



With the wall changes and the new look you no longer have pillars, so now there are wall blocks. There are 6 different wall sizes and each of them have different HP and material requirements.
If you build on a steep surface, the walls will tile themselves so you will get smaller wall chunks. When you want to upgrade the walls, you need to do it chunk by chunk.

Do keep in mind you cannot immediately build Metal walls, you need to start from basic and upgrade up!

Not only walls received this upgrade but, towers, doors and doorframes as well.

You might be concerned about old bases and what happens to them. Don't worry they are still there and your stuff is protected. Old base building elements are removed as a crafting option and will degrade more and more over time to give you time to replace with new ones and keep your hermit holes safe.

We also added 2 new elements:

Workbench



You can now craft your own workbench. It's functionality is similar to drill presses and lathe machines so you can craft ammo with it and other things that require it. But there is a trade off. All things crafted on it have only 50% durability. Which you already know can lead to weapon jamming and other nasty things.

Bunk beds



Let's face it, you have characters that can make constructions that can enter the list of national wonders. Yet you still sleep in that old raggedy improvised bed. Well no more as bunk beds are now available. Not only will they bring great comfort to your character they also function as the respawn point like the other does as well.

Light sources

As nights in SCUM get really dark and constructing a base at that time could be a real hassle, we added 2 new light sources.
Portable Work Light and Gas Lantern.



The Lantern can be fueled with gas, while the Portable Work Light can be charged with batteries.
Along with the normal batteries we have, we also made the smartphone battery rechargeable. All you need is a car battery and car wires and you're ready to go.





Well we got new base building elements and you'll need more materials to build them, especially wood. And yes you could use an axe like before to chop it down but we know you. You want power. You want strength. You want... a chainsaw! Well here you go my little lumberjacks:



The chainsaw, a saw with a chain. This tool is not here purely for the fun of it tho. Ok maybe alittle bit for the fun of it but it is quite useful. So yes you can cut everything with it, with it's own special sets of animations as well!



So what's the real kicker? Well with the chainsaw you get more materials for each cut than you would get with the axe. So if you want to build those real big walls you have less trips to the forest. It also cuts way faster than the axe does. I mean it is a chainsaw after all.

There is a drawback tho, you will need fuel. Yes the chainsaw does indeed use fuel in order to operate. To fill it you will need 2 things, gas canister and gas itself. Once you have it simply hold F on the saw or right click it and refuel the chainsaw. Also take note that the chainsaw will not cut anything if not fueled and switched on.

So how do you turn it on? Well the controls are pretty much the same as weapons so you don't have learn that much:
  • Press R for switching it on/off.
  • Press SHIFT+R to check fuel amount.

Important thing to notice is that it takes strength to start the chainsaw. So if you create a character with low STR it will take a lot more pulls for the chainsaw to start compared to a character with high STR.

But I know what you want to know the most, you psychos. Can I chop people with it. Well yes yes and soon.

Yes you can cut at people as a melee weapon with it and yes you can chop bodies with it. Soon tho means that special melee attacks with the chainsaw are going to be implemented in the future.



Well you already saw a lot of material on this one, we did have fun with it on Twitter. But here they are in all their glory! Wheelbarrows!



There are 2 types of wheelbarrows:
  • Improvised wooden wheelbarrow.
  • Metal wheelbarrow which spawns.

So there are 2 main differences between the 2.
  1. Improvised wheelbarrow has less hit points than the metal one.
  2. Improvised wheelbarrow has less inventory space than the metal one.

Now HP is important because not only do wheelbarrows take damage when you hit or shoot them, they are also susceptible to fall damage and durability drops slowly when you drive them around. So make sure you have a toolbox handy so you can make those emergency repairs.

And yes as seen live on TV you can shoot from the wheelbarrows:



So important thing to note when using the wheel barrows is that part of their weight carries over to the player and encumbers the weight load on the player. So let's recap some old stuff here.

Weight load

Weight load is total overall weight of all the gear that is currently on your character. This includes items in hand, on your back, in your inventory and everything equipped. This all matters because of the weight load threshold. Weight load threshold is a feature that is calculated from your characters STR+CON, and is different on the type of action.
There are 3 types of actions in the game: Easy, demanding and very demanding. Examples would be walking, jogging and running in the same order. Everything that a player does in the game is considered an action. This is important when talking about weight load because each type of action has its own separate weight load threshold. For an example threshold for a character build could be 40 kilo walking, 20kilos jogging and 15 kilos sprinting. Now when the weight load of the player goes over the threshold it starts to increasingly drain the players stamina, calories, water and DEX stat overall. Dexterity because it is the stat that determines the speed of action execution.

How the wheelbarrow comes into play and why revising this is important. Well part of the weight that is stored in the wheelbarrow is carried over into the overall weight load that currently encumbers the player. So, it is quite important for players to keep that in mind so they can watch their metabolism intake and stamina usage. Also, there is a mechanic in place where the game detects if you are pushing the wheelbarrow uphill or downhill. Since if you are pushing the wheelbarrow uphill most of the weight shifts backwards towards the player, weight load will increase. But if the wheelbarrow is being pushed down hill weight will shift forward on the wheel and weight load will be less but some of it will still carry on the player.

There class dismissed. Oh and lastly when destroyed the items in the wheelbarrow don't get destroyed since the wheelbarrow does not blow up.

Cause of our 4, shift working, admins you can get help at nearly every time.
We have a lot of events like „capture the flag“, car race, defending aeras, sniper league, search and destroy, defend/capture a VIP, searching for signs arround the map and much more. In general the events are built up for single player as well for big squads.

2 towns in scum island are declared as additional safezones. There you can claim a house and park your car. In this aeras is PVP forbidden. Actually the two towns are Ston in the north west and Spickovina in the center oft he map. The ingame safezones are also aviable for safe building.

Scum paradise was set up in 2019 with a group of friends we never expected it to become something it is today.

PathFinder Plays -Path.House Condemned Survival Server is relatively new.
We aim to offer a Vanilla experience with active Admins, utilizing the SCUM BUCK currency to incentivize trade between players.
We currently have a traders quarter where players set up their own merchandise stores.
The puppets are high, loot is low, to slow down PVP and Raiding-however PVP/raiding are not restricted.

Hello Community,
our SCUM server from "HETRAL" is a server with the possibility to operate PvE and PvP.
The zones are clearly divided in the rules, so peaceful players can explore and craft in peace. But also combat-ready players look for their opponents. However, there are also clear rules for the PvP experience in order to keep the potential for frustration as low as possible.
There is also our own Safecity. In which you can look for your home and register yourself in the Discord at the registration office.
The game experience on the island of the outlaws is complemented by various events and quests, which are organized regularly by the admins and the supporting team.
Such as weekly quests for looting, bounty hunting, mech-free nights or a purge once a month. We also have an in-game shop, where various items can be purchased for in-game currency to facilitate survival.
To be able to play on our server, all you have to do is register for the whitelist on our discord and confirm our rules. One of the admins will give you access to the server in a timely manner.
If you are on the list, you can enjoy the game on our island without any further password.

Hello everyone and happy Halloween!!!

Yeah, we know you've been waiting for a while now for an update, we kept ourselves busy. So what were we doing that you had to wait for so long? Well check it out:

First of all we have brought SCUM into 4.25 of Unreal Engine!! Wooopieeee!

But what does that mean for you, the average Joe?

Well SCUM now supports DirectX12, and you should see improvements in performance. If your PC was CPU bound, meaning if the CPU was a likely bottleneck for your performance, you should see an increase in FPS depending on the GPU strength. Some of our testing benches have seen a drastic increase in FPS. This all depends on your own hardware setting and not everyone will experience this optimization pass.

This is also one of the first steps for the future and a complete transfer to a brand new Unreal Engine 5. But more info about this later.

But that is definitely not all we have in store for you.



It's Halloweeen!!! And you know what that means, time to get your spook on. We prepared some new items for you all to play with se here is what you can look forward to.

But first of you will notice that the spooky main menu has returned, now with an extra few details. Can you spot them all?


Time to dress up!

Wanted to dress up for Halloween as you chase around that fresh spawned player, but the masks that are already in are just not cutting it for you anymore? Well we added a couple of new items for you.

What is Halloween without candy? A bunch of toilet paper wrapped around houses that what. And that would lag out the server so here is some candy.



We added a few more suprises, but why spoil the surprise itself :)





Long awaited wolves have entered the fray. These magnificent creatures will stalk your nights, and stalk in packs they will. Make sure to walk softly and carry a big gun, and check if it is loaded. Otherwise, well run and hope for the best.





We have made some new changes to the city landscape. Remember how it was all nice and tidy and the city looked damn fresh? Well away with that son, this is an abandoned island after all. We went through the city again and realized that it does not really fit with the original art style meant for the game, so a more abandoned ruined look. Rubble, tore down buildings and some last stands can be found around the city followed with some awesome new sounds to match.



Not only that, but there was a lot of work done in the background as well. There are tons of optimizations based on uhm... some nerd s*** I don't even understand, but performance boost we recorded is impressive. (especially when combined with DX12)




  • Reduced audible range for movement in bushes.
  • Added new voices for suicide puppets.
  • There is now 5% possibility that you'll produce Wilhelms scream upon death.
  • MP5SD does not cause shooters ears anymore.
  • Redesigned UMP gunshot sounds.
  • Sharp metal objects will now produce distinctive sound when used as a melee weapon.
  • Added new music to radio station.


  • Fixed the bug where player was unable to unload ammo from weapon upon relog.
  • Fixed the bug where too many items were marked as expireable.
  • Fixed the bug where having a fake name would sometimes not work.
  • Fixed the NVG bug where they would sometimes glitch out.
  • Fixed the bug where foliage would not properly cover scopes in ADS.
  • Fixed the occasional movement orientation lock bug after exiting vehicles.
  • Fixed the bug where a wrong icon for M82 stove pipe malfunction would show.
  • Fixed the bug where it was possible to build floating towers.
  • Fixed the bug where it was able to place flags on top of barbecues.
  • Fixed the bug where animals would not react to getting hit with melee weapons.
  • Fixed the bug where tower ladders would have wrong sound.
  • Multiple level fixes.


  • Lowered weight of AK47 magazine from 0.8kg to 0.3kg.
  • Readjusted size of human animal parts that can be put into inventory.
  • Reduced spawn rate of party glasses and removed them from military loot spawners.
  • You can now place 5 locks or upgrades on doors instead of 3.
  • Animals will no longer attack a comatose prisoner.
  • Weapon ghillie is now repairable with sewing kit and adds to cammo
  • Modified the camouflage skill.
  • Cartridge traps now use only one bullet, and give ammo back when uncrafted.
  • Crafting ammo now falls under engineering instead of survival as was intended.
  • Lowered wind change rate.
  • Lowered suicide puppet explosion damage.
  • Aggroed animals will now flee if they take a serious amount of damage.
  • Increased animal capsule sizes so they don't clip through players anymore.
  • Items resting on top of base elements will now drop on the floor when the base elements are destroyed.
  • Refreshed the look of SVD


  • Added an admin command that lists all currently spawned animals.
  • Added a voting system.

So how does it work?
Well you have 3 possible votes:
  • #vote SetWeather
  • #vote SetTimeOfDay
  • #vote InitiateCargoDrop
The admin initializes the vote and all active players can vote with either F2 as Yes of F3 as No.
What if you change your mind you sneaky admin you. Well there is a #cancelvote as well.
In SereverSettings you also have new parameters:

VotingDuration=60 - How long is it possible to vote for in seconds
AnnouncementDuration=10 - How long before vote goes into action in seconds
PlayerMinimalConsentPercentage=0.4 - Percentage of people needed to pass the vote (0.2 is 20%, 1 is 100% and so on)
