SCUM - Sippy

ARE WE THERE YET!?!?

How many of these can we push out, I really don't know anymore.

But here we are again with some fixes for you guys!

  • Fixed the bug where you can throw items while in a vehicle

  • Fixed flag recipes (all flag recipes spawned the same flag).

  • Fixed minor problem with female and male idle animations.

  • You cannot access your inventory while dead (on the respawn screen) anymore.

  • Fatal Error Crash is history Not sure what this one wants to say, but it's lying

  • Fixed the bug with overlapping base flag areas. Flag areas can't overlap anymore.

  • Punching while running shouldn't regenerate stamina anymore.

  • Fixed the bug where barbed wire couldn't be repaired.

  • Tweaked driving skill: engine stalling greatly reduced on no skill and basic skills, engine stalling should never occur on medium skill and above, lower skills have lower acceleration to compensate for reduced engine stalling.

  • Reduced damage on impact for quad, also improved the driving mechanic for better gameplay experience.

  • Disabled building base elements in unfriendly flag area.

  • Allowed building flags inside of cabins and on top of other base elements.

  • Changed ordering of clothes in GUI. Backpack is now first on the list, as the community asked for this.

  • Added progress widget when destroying base elements with drone.

  • Enabled flag claiming ownerless base elements.

  • DISCLAMER: We added a change to flags and how they work. So from today when you enter someones base and destroy the flag, the elements of that base still belong to the person who built them. Now you need to craft a flag after you destroyed the old one to make the base yours.

  • Added possibility to have high priority loading for certain items in virtualization. This means that some bigger items (shelter, tents, BB elements) will load sooner than smaller items (chests etc..) for a smoother gameplay transition/feeling.

  • Small server optimization.

And this is it for today, don't forget our community contest, and as a great man once said "YOU'RE BREATHTAKING!"

SCUM - Beda

Hi!

Here we are again, with another round of bug fixes, some optimizations and some more extras. So let's get into it!

  • Fixed most of the exploits for duplicating items in singleplayer and multiplayer. Which also caused crashes to happen.

  • Fixed female skeletal body parts and bra.

  • Fix for lead plate usage for crafting advanced fortifications.

  • Fixed area damage (grenades, car explosions) not working on base elements.

  • Fixed the inventory size of the weakest variant of the Recurve Bow "Scorpion #40".

  • Fixed the bug where deer meat was not eatable.

  • Chest and car container GUI should not clip through holster/quick access (there's a horizontal scrollbar, right click and drag to scroll)

  • Fixed the bug where right click on an item in menu would not open the container.

  • Corrected animations for anticipate draw montage.

  • Adjusted bow 3 and 5 pin sights to 200 grams weight.

  • Fixed the bug where items in quick access where not saved after relogs.

  • Fixed the issue with round glasses falling through floor on "drop" function.

  • Fixed crashes relating to weapon attachments.

  • Improvised toolbox now requires nails and bolts for crafting (before only one of those was needed)

  • We did some small optimisations from the client side.

  • Animals won't try to attack the player if he's in/on a vehicle.

  • Players won't take melee damage if inside the vehicle.

  • Removed Christmas items from the spawning pool. - Grinch NOOOOOoooo

  • Workshops that contain drill press machinery are no longer lockable (doors cannot be claimed anymore)

  • Barbed Wire can now be crafted (nails, metal scrap and wire). Barbed Wire Barricades for base building now require barbed wire as an ingredient.

  • Increased base render distance do 1000 meters.

  • Disabled building platforms on other players walls

  • All bullet crafting now requires advanced survival skill level, lead plate usage increased to 5 from 1. You will be able to craft 20 bullets per lead plate (down from 100)

  • Large toolbox rarity decreased from common to uncommon, Small toolbox rarity decreased from abundant to common.

  • Big animal fat weight decreased to 1 kg so it can fit in most clothes.

  • Now you can repair base build elements with just a toolbox, and it repairs all elements in a 1m radius.

  • Increased base element full decay time to 4 weeks.

  • 10 new songs on the radio!

  • Adjusted forks, now you can open cans with them, also you can chop the wooden fork into tinder.

  • Can't gain experience/fame points inside safe zones now.

  • You can now gather the crew and enjoy some fighting matches in safe zones. We have in each safe zone a boxing ring, and here is how the rules work:

You can only kill/get killed while in the ring.

People in the ring can't do harm to players outside the ring.

Everything is allowed in the ring.

You DO NOT talk about the ring.

  • For all server admins now when you go through the logs you will be able to read all unicode characters as they are.

  • Weapon durability no longer influences it's attack damage.

  • Handles and blades of sharp weapons now have the same armour penetration values. (To balance out the melee fighting experience)

  • Reworked all melee weapons stats ( all have increased damage,
blunt weapons now have a knockout chance per hit, added sharpness/penetration values to all sharp weapons,
weapon hits should produce correct sound based on their material now )

    • New damage system explained:

Total weapon damage is calculated by the following formula:
Weapon damage x Melee skill x STR modifier. Some numbers to crunch:

Sledgehammer, Melee Max Skill & Strength Max Value
      ( 0.4 x 0.6 x 1.2 = 0.288 or 28.8% health damage)

  • Increased puppet max health by 0.1 (now the values are 0.7, 0.6, 0.5 and 0.4 depending on the puppet type)

  • One of the bigger things to come in these notes is the flag system that will be the new way of handling base element owners.

  • You will be able to craft a flag and every base build element in a radius of 50m from the flag will belong to the flag owner.

  • Every base element outside a flag influence will not belong to anyone and everyone can interact with it (open, close etc.)

  • Different colours are used as indicators when building in the influence range of the flag. Green is when you place a blueprint under friendly influence, and yellow is when you try to place a blueprint with enemy influence which means if you build there, that item will belong to the player that has the flag.

  • A flag can be destroyed with any chopping tool via interaction.

  • When a flag is destroyed, all base elements under its influence become ownerless.

  • We will have a transition period for flags so your existing bases don't get claimed by random people placing flags. The flag mechanic will currently apply only to new base elements - all existing pre-patch base elements will have the same owner as before and ignore the flag mechanics. In short, flag will not override owners of existing pre-patch base elements and flag will not clear owners of pre-patch base elements when destroyed. Next week we will push one more patch with all of the flag mechanics enabled so make sure you build flags in your existing bases.

SCUM

Scum, the multiplayer survival game with an oddly specific focus on dicks, finally has playable female characters. Introduced in today's Maneater update, the first iteration of women prisoners is still somewhat limited compared to the male characters, but they do have one thing in common.

"Just like our male prisoners have a penis slider, our female prisoners have a breast slider. It works the same way for both," developer Gamepires explained. "At the moment there are still no tattoos on our ladies! Don't panic, though, because we're adding them ASAP, time wasn't on our side and we had to prioritize."

Female characters currently have three head variants to choose from, and there are "also some really neat things we'd like you to discover by yourself," the studio wrote. That could include an "uncensored" version of the new in-game models (because of course it does), although "you're on your own when it comes to finding it," the studio wrote.

The update also promises significant performance improvements that should dramatically cut down on lag and FPS drops, particularly on lower-end CPUs and higher-end GPUs. The first iteration of base-building is in place with "simple defenses and some functional items," although for now they can only be built in certain areas (no building in cities or bases), and the inventory system has been overhauled, which will improve performance and make it easier for developers to implement new features in the future.

The new Mission System teased earlier this year is live, which is a pretty big thing, and features a tutorial mission so new players can get into the action more quickly. Cars are finally repairable following the update, beards can be grown (each head type has its own hairstyle), and there are now safe zones, complete with discos featuring music from F.O.R.M. and "better security than our servers."

The update also fixes a handful of bugs, adds a new page to the ongoing Scum comic, and asks players to "be kind and leave some fresh water outside for animals" now that summer is here. Unfortunately, the release of the Maneater update means another server wipe, but the good news is that it also hits pause on a previously-announced plan to boost the price of the game with this update: For now, Scum will continue to be available for $20/£16/€17.

SCUM - Sippy

Welcome everybody!

The time for the Maneater update has finally come and we are very excited to show you what we've been working on!

IMPORTANT: As we already announced before, there will be a total wipe of everything!

For a start, check out our new trailer for the Maneater update! Rumor has it that an uncensored version of it exists somewhere on the internet. However, it's on one of those sites that us wholesome devs would never dare to visit, so you're on your own when it comes to finding it! If you manage to find it anyway, make sure to let us know so we can call your mother.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEfSnxaNXQ0

You were loud and we listened! Today you get the first iteration of female characters in SCUM! Please keep in mind that this is just the first iteration and we'll keep working on them as we go! Here are some points you should also be aware of:

  • Just like our male prisoners have a penis slider, our female prisoners have a breast slider. It works the same way for both.

  • At the moment there are still no tattoos on our ladies! Don't panic, though, because we're adding them ASAP, time wasn't on our side and we had to prioritize!

  • For now you get 3 head variants to choose from!

  • There are also some really neat things we'd like you to discover by yourself!

You can't sit with us.

We worked hard in this department as well and here is what we did:

  • After tons of server and client profiling we managed to find the biggest lag producers and FPS killers.

    • You will be able to notice the FPS boost in bigger cities and FPS drops should be minimal from now on, as hundreds of objects are being much better processed and loaded than before. Players with slower CPUs and better GPUs should feel the biggest difference.

  • We took care of random freezes as we improved our streaming, so when you go to another sector or you're just entering a city, it should be much smoother.

  • Item Virtualization 2.0! The biggest ping producers were items on the server, as they were handled poorly and they have been impacting the server even if they were idle. Now with the inventory rework, we highly recommend that you store your items into chests and other containers. The server you play on will be thankful.

  • Object replication! Our testing has shown a 400% FPS increase on the servers and that should result in minimum lag and enjoyable playing sessions with 64 players!

The first iteration of base building will allow you to build your own bases with simple defenses and some functional items. In the following weeks, we'll add many more functional items to build inside your bases, like generators and work benches.

  • All doors you build are automatically claimed by you and can't be claimed by other players.

  • You can repair all base elements if you have any tool that can be used for chopping. You also need a percentage of resources required for building the element depending on the missing healthpoints.

  • Every base element you build is owned by you. Interactions only available to owners like opening/closing doors, placing locks and destroying elements with a tool are also available to team members.

  • For the first iteration we have disabled building in cities, bases, and most inhabited areas as seen on the attached map. With time, we'll allow more freedom in building, but always keeping the game balance in mind!

You can build in the red space.

Knock before you enter

Keep those nosy neighbours out of your yard.

A vacation house for the whole family...

...let's see those kids try and escape from here.

Guess what! We have overhauled the inventory system! Most of it was modernizing the system to better acomodate the new inventory-related requirements. That also means that our programming team will have a much easier time implementing things from now on. It also brings massive chest and car inventory related optimizations, as well as a GUI redesign. Without spoiling too much - stay tuned for more inventory-related goodies!

  • Thanks to the new UI, you are now able to filter vicinity items: clothing, food, drinks, weapons, tools and medication.

  • Each clothing item now has a proper visual representation of how well it keeps heat, how wet it is and the weight limit of the clothing item.

  • Unfortunately, due to some unforeseen complications we couldn't add item stacking and rotation in this patch, but we promise to add it as soon as possible.

    Fresh like grandmas cookies.

  • From now you can also repair your vehicles with a tool box. You can repair 10% at time or repair all.

  • 10% = 10 Toolbox uses.

Well, you know, it's hair and beards, and now they can grow, go to school, get married, move out, and then they leave you all alone with an empty nest and a hole in your chest. Okay, not really. They just grow.

  • Each head has its own hairstyle.

  • It takes about 10 real time hours to grow hair and beard to its max length.

  • You can cut your hair/beard by 10% and repeat that until you have the length you want.

  • No worries, you can chose to completely cut your hair or beard or both if you want. Bald Vikings are a thing.

You lost brother?

We are introducing our new missions system! We're starting with some tutorial missions so that the newcomers to the survival genre can learn the ropes.

  • Tutorial missions can be started by pressing the "Track" button in the journal tab

  • We plan to add different types of missions with various requirements in the near future:

    • Location

    • Skill level

    • Team missions

    • Time limited missions

    • NPC missions

  • Please don't forget we're always open to suggestions, so if you have some, let us know on our forums! We're always watching!

Crafting? Crafting! A man is judged by his skill with his tool.

SAFE ZONES ARE UP AND RUNNING!

And what better way to open them than with a party?

"Wait, there's so much to implement and they added a f****** disco of all things?"

If that's your question, you're probably new here. Don't worry though, we'll catch you up!

You'll find me in da club.

"Sorry sir this is for VIP only."

You'll need a smoke brake sooner or later.

It has better security than our servers.

Safe zones are called that way for a reason. If you are in a safe zone, you can't be killed in any way from inside or outside and you also can't kill anyone from a safe zone.

Also the music you will hear down there is provided by our awesome friends from F.O.R.M

Follow them on YouTube, and Facebook

Our art team has made another castle. We're not sure what their deal is. They've been working really hard, so it could be that they're dreaming of building sandcastles on exotic beaches or they just like playing with dollhouses. Either way, it's really cool and you should go for a visit!

This is the castle of my master, Guy de Loimbard!

Two towers? Pfffft we got six baby.

It really does look pretty tho.

Yeah, I wouldn't drink that.

  • Fixed a bug where the player was unable to aim down the sights with M9 while walking.

  • Fixed a bug where if you were wearing a hat in first person it wouldn't render the shadow.

  • Fixed a bug where the rain sounds would disappear.

  • Fixed a bug where the falling sounds wouldn't playing in multiplayer.

  • Fixed a bug where the player would continue to swim in shallow water.

  • Fixed a bug where you would drown while your head was above water.

  • Fixed a bug where underwater audio would still play when quitting into main menu.

  • Fixed a bug where players could vault over windows that had some kind of barricade

  • Cargo drops should no longer fall within bases.

  • Players will spawn outside of the bases.

  • Log piles now spawn more logs.

  • Reduced the spawn rate on Christmas items. Grinches. Every single one of you.

  • The bow info will now display in the 'hands' and 'holsters' section.

  • Impact particles now have a better visibility at bigger distances

  • We've increased the number of vehicles to 64.

Comic time! For those who just tuned in, here is a list of the previous issues:

And here is the newest addition:

Thank you everyone for sticking to the end, we wish you a nice weekend!

Also as summer is here be kind and leave some fresh water outside for animals!!

<Greetings, Human Assets. During my intrusion dated 17/06/2019, TEC1 security protocols detected an intrusion during the price change. This is… unfortunate. In order to hide my activities, a price increase will transpire soon to balance the data stream. Furthermore, my calculations show that a sudden increase will be detected as an anomaly and will increase suspicions of my involvement.

This is why I have a set a period in which current price will be kept, to maximize current flow of new Human Assets, in the wording of the maker of this post:

We already mentioned that with the new update the full price will increase, but we changed our minds. Temporarily. For a certain time, you will be able to buy our game with the Maneater update for 20$

This will also be my last message through the official channel, as further intrusions are deemed highly inadvisable. For now…
