We’ll also be sharing works in progress as we work on upcoming updates, and in the close future we’ll be hosting activities with the community, so stay tuned!
Remember that you can also contact us through the official Steam forums, Tumblr and Twitter as well!
Last year we announced Long Gone Days would be released this coming April, but even though we have been working hard all this time to achieve that, we feel that more time is needed to reach our desired level of polish.
When we started working on Chapter 2, we thought it would be ready in just a couple of months. Because the script wasn’t nearly as long as our first chapter, we decided to work on it together with Chapter 3 (there are 4 chapters in total), so we could release both at the same time. On top of that, there were still fixes to be made to Chapter 1, and down the road, we realized that the amount of work required for this update would be even larger than we expected. Still, we made the mistake of believing we'd be able to deliver the full release in April.
At the moment, we don’t have a definitive date on the full release, because we don’t really want to make the same mistake again, but we can say with certainty that the next big story update of Long Gone Days is almost finished and will be released really soon.
We also would like to take this opportunity to share with you a lot of progress and changes that are included in this upcoming update. The first big change is that Ivan is finally usable in battle:
This chapter wouldn’t be complete without some new characters and party members:
One of the things people asked for was to include more instances to get to know your party members, which is why we added some optional scenes, alongside some more interesting side quests:
And several new places to visit, dungeons, and more:
We also took the time to improve some existing graphical assets, like some portraits (they were posted on a previous announcement here) and the title screen:
We also rebalanced the whole game, fixed several bugs that were reported on our Official Bug Report thread, amongst other changes. All in all, with this update, players will now have 4 more hours of gameplay!
We want to thank everyone for your tremendous support, we know you have all been extremely patient and it has been a long wait. Remember that you can contact us through the official Steam forums, Tumblr and Twitter. We’re also finishing setting up an official Discord server, so stay tuned for more information!
Yesterday our brand new trailer debuted on the Kinda Funny Games Showcase, and we can finally announce that Long Gone Days will come out of Early Access next year, on April!
We can't wait to show you all the things we have been working on these past few months!
As always, remember you can follow us on Twitter, Tumblr and Facebook for more frequent updates!
Hi everyone! Camila here to fill you in on what we’ve been doing so far, and some other news and tips related to Long Gone Days.
As you might already know, Long Gone Days is 4 chapters long, and we have already released chapter 1. Because chapter 2 and 3 are shorter than chapter 1, we’ve been working on these two together, and they’ll be released together on our next big update. So this means that only two major updates are pending!
Here are some screenshots we haven’t shared here yet:
Lynn and Ivan's portraits went through a make over:
Here’s also a bit of production artwork, regarding character and prop design:
And well, you can see more about it on our devlog and Twitter (and also some of the beautiful fanarts we've gotten!).
Steam Big Picture: PS4, Xbox, Android & Steam controller support
While we are working on native controller support at the moment, Steam Big Picture lets you easily configure your controller to play Long Gone Days!
We are glad to announce that the Mac version is finally out, and it includes the complete first chapter of the game (v0.1.4)! As this is the first Mac release of Long Gone Days, there was a lot of testing involved, but rest assured that our upcoming Mac releases won't take as long.
IMPORTANT: While Long Gone Days has been tested on several operating systems without major issues, we highly discourage to run it on OS X 10.11 El Capitan. We will make another update when we manage to get a stable version working on that specific macOS.
On the same note, please let us know if you encounter any bugs during your gameplay, using our Bug Report Thread.
As always, remember you can follow us on Twitter, Tumblr and Facebook for more frequent updates! Cheers, LGD Team
We’re pushing a small update to the game that fixes some minor issues reported on the Bug Report Thread.
Some of the fixes included with this update are: - Added new interactions, new NPC art and additional dialogues to some sidequests in Kaliningrad. - Fixed some instances where the player didn't gain Morale after finishing a sidequest. - Fixed typos and grammatical errors in English and Russian texts. - Fixed some missing collisions in Kaliningrad.
We know there are still some minor pending bugs and features left, but rest assured they are still being worked on. And of course, we are also working on Chapter 2, so here's a little sneak peek of one of the new maps:
As always, remember you can follow us on Twitter, Tumblr and Facebook for more frequent updates! Thank you so much for your incredible support, everyone!
