And yet physics has given him an enormous amount of grief over the course of TABS development – as well as all the other games he s made at Landfall. Physics, after all, makes everything harder. There has been a lot of questions in regards to the Unit Creator - this post is aiming to answer some of them and make it clear what the Unit Creator is.

When will the Unit creator be released?
Towards the end of Early Access/Game Preview, most likely in Q2/Early Summer of 2020.

What is the Unit Creator?
The Unit Editor will let you make your own units. Mix and match clothes and recolor them to your liking. Equip and mix weapons from the game's other units and make your own factions of crazy TABS units.

The Unit Editor will allow users to:
  • Equip and recolor clothes to units.
  • Equip and recolor weapons to units.
  • Equip special abilities to your units.
  • Change between the normal humanoid and other unit types
  • Save your units and make your own factions.
  • Use those units and faction in custom battles/campaigns you make and upload them to the workshop.

The Unit Editor features we'd like to get in, but cannot confirm until tested:
  • Importing custom clothing models
  • Making mounted units
  • Hand placing props on units.

The Unit Editor will not allow for:
Making your own clothes, weapons or abilities inside of the editor.

We will have a bunch of cool props and outfits in the editor to enable you to create a bunch of stuff!

Heya! We just released a small patch to fix a security issue. We have so far not seen anyone experiencing issues with this but since the kind people over at Modzero AG alerted us to it we wanted to make the game better and more secure for you players.

No content in this patch :)

Happy belated new year!

You may be wondering what’s in store next for TABS in Q1 (January-March)?

Next up is an update with the Simulation maps shown in devclips, it’s going to include 20 new simulation maps and a campaign. It will most likely be ready at the end of the month or in February.



We’ve heard you, the Cheerleaders are getting a boost - they will not be the same as they were before the nerf but they will have a bigger cap than they currently do to bring back some of the fun in sandbox.




We’re also hard at work finishing the last faction, it will most likely come sometime during Q1 or early Q2 :) What do you think it will be?



As for the other features in the roadmap www.landfall.se/earlyaccess we have more info and estimations coming soon!

During Christmas, we released TABS on Xbox!

Xbox will be updated at the same time as the PC and Mac version now which means that we need a bit more time for each update - that said it also means they should be a lot more stable as we now have proper QA.

Bug Fixes
  • Projectiles from Hwacha and Artemis no longer goes through units sometimes.
  • Painter particle effect swap color when you set flip team colors in settings.
  • Fixed issue that caused particle effects to change color on frozen units.

Changes
  • Ranged units are now better at standing still when attacking
  • Units now slow down when turning
  • The Dynasty Dragon and the Wheelbarrow dragon will now light enemies on fire

We first showed you the TABS alpha in 2016 and the response was unbelievable. The community has supported the game ever since and has always been there with great feedback and unit suggestions.

Working on TABS is a lot of fun thanks to the happy and encouraging engagement from the community, it is what has made TABS into a labor of love for us!

Nominating TABS for the Labor of Love 2019 Award is to nominate TABS’ loving community as much as it is to nominate the game itself.

Bug Fixes
  • Blackbeard will now wear clothes again!
  • The issue causing models going at high speed to sometimes stretch when should now be fixed.
  • The Reaper death explosion should now work in possession.

Changes
  • Fog deactivated on Spooky 2.
  • Ullr’s and Chu ko nu’s secret unlock portraits have now been changed to match their updated design.

New patch with a bunch of bug fixes, enjoy!

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed issue which stopped the mammoth from attacking correctly.
  • Fixed issues where monkey king clones would not attack in possession mode.
  • Fixed a bunch of combat moves not working in possession mode.
  • The First Dragon carrier now has the kick ability in possession like the other carriers.
  • Custom campaigns should no longer get stuck on download.
  • Adding a battle to an existing or newly created campaign should now work as intended.
  • Loading a previously saved battle and then saving it again now works as intended, with the name and the budget of the battle being saved correctly.
  • Changing maps after saving a battle no longer has a chance of spawning units from the saved battle.
  • Units should always correctly register as dead now, even with a priest healing them at the moment of death.
  • Now correctly hides highlight color around units when entering freecam in placement mode.
  • No longer possible to place units that aren’t allowed on a campaign level, when they were selected for placement in the campaign level before.
  • The settings window now works correctly when having Pumpkin Catapult placed.
  • Mounts get removed correctly when pressing the clear button. Some mounts would just have their rider removed.
  • Turning into a bat when possessing the vampire should now work as intended. This could yield unexpected errors in the past.
  • Units no longer drown from their weapons being underwater
  • Fixed bug which caused the camera to bounce backwards when starting a battle while in slow motion

Changes
  • Improved Monkey King fighting style
  • You can now start a battle with “End Battle” key
  • Some parts of the UI used the wrong time scaling mode. This has now been changed and all UI should behave correctly even in slow motion.
  • Environments now receive baked shadows when realtime shadows are disabled.
  • Units moving at high-velocity switch collision detection mode. This will stop them from going through other objects. Commonly happened when units fell from ballooner balloons.
  • Corrected the name of several units, to better fit the overall naming style. For example, the Hay Baler was renamed from ‘Hay baler’ to ‘Hay Baler’.

Balance
  • Increased bomb on a stick hp
  • Increased bomb on a stick damage
  • Decreased Ullr attack speed

Performance
  • Decreased shadow distance.
  • Optimized collision for most levels
  • Optimized environment models

Hi! You might wonder what’s in store next for the game and why the roadmap says To be Announced for the next update.

We’re currently in the process of bug fixing and optimizing the game in order for the ports to console to go smoothly (Console release dates to be announced!).

During this process, we can’t add much more content to the game, but while you wait we will be patching the game optimizing it and fixing bugs to make the game even more fun to play.

Hopefully, we will have a really nice content update for you late this year or early 2020 :)
