We're few hours away from 1.0 Launch.

In this round of showcase, we will be presenting the customization and cosmetic system that is newly implemented. This will serve as part of player progressions. Unlock skin packs with in-game currency and level them up when playing and completing online matches. As you level up the pack tiers, more cosmetic items will be available such as callsigns, banner, and frames. The skin itself will also increase in complexity. You can also buy your way through these tiers with in-game currency.



These are some notes on how the cosmetic items work :
  • Skin packs :
[/b] Individual cosmetic pack , unique to each faction. Can only be unlocked with in-game currency. After unlocking, it can be upgraded up to 8 times. Each upgrade will provide an additional item. Skin packs can be upgraded as you win matches with the equipped skin or by fast-leveling them with in-game currency known as 'Credits'
  • Credits :
  • [/b] Credits can be earned when you level your rank. It is used to purchase new skin packs and to fast-level them.
  • Player Skins:
  • [/b] These replaces the texture material on the character, each pack contain up to 3 tier. At the highest tier, your assigned squad members will also receive the skins, allowing you to have a full squad with the skin.
  • Player Frames :
  • [/b] These are the frames that display your callsign in-game. Like the skins, they also have tiers that can be unlocked.
  • Team Banners :
  • [/b] These are commander selected only cosmetic. By choosing a banner, your base and surrounding areas will be decorated with these banner. Show the enemy who is in town.
  • Callsigns :
  • [/b] Your player character will be identified as these callsigns in-game. They are unique to per-faction and is one of the item unlocked in the skin packs. These callsign will also have an individual representation on the minimap. Unlike the Early Access version, callsigns can now have customized frames , hence you can mix and match them.
  • Rank :
  • [/b] Represent your rank this season. As you play more matches, you will rank up. Each game earns you experience(XP). Victory gives you higher XP than loses. As you rank up, you gain Credit. Rank will be reset each season but not your stats.

    For today's countdown we'll be looking at the next content update. On top of having new maps. All the current PVP / PVE map has gone through remastering. Lighting, shading , foliage and assets has been remastered and optimized. Many of the Early Access art model has been replaced. This includes gameplay assets.

    The entire GSF faction has also received completely redesigned and remodeled infantry characters. Some of the older characters has been remodeled for better details. This also include weapons as well. Take a look at some of it.

    We've showed GSF Faction Division yesterday, so today of course is AXR's turn!. Utilize on either the Robotic Division, Energy Division, and even Stealth Division to turn the battle to your favor!



    ROBOTICS
    Axeron's Robotic Division places emphasis on the utilization of robotic infantries. This division has the best of available Iron Guards and it's supporting technologies. Improvements to its industrial capability also increases it's production capacity to allow highly efficient deployment of Iron Guards.



    ENERGY
    Energy Division of Axeron Industries brings together efficient power manipulation capability and superior ingenuity. Their technology allows them to focus their firepower in a highly precise manner. Commanders of this division usually favor energy-based weapon rather than explosive ordnance.



    STEALTH
    Stealth Division's main strength lies in the disruption and deception of enemy forces and commander. Capable of dropping Phantom Drone which cloaks units in target area, and even firing hologram army to divert attention. The Stealth Division forces the enemy to doubt their own eye and judgement.

    Hello Officers,

    For today's countdown, we'll be giving you a breakdown on the 3 Divisions available for the GSF Faction. Choose the division of your choice as commander during pre-game lobby, and make the best of it to win the battle!



    INFANTRY
    GSF's Infantry Division focuses on fast and agile tactics. Combining highly trained infantry and specialized light vehicles allows this division to quickly move their assets and effectively across the frontline. Key commander abilities include QRF drops that can quickly reinforce your positions.



    ARMOR
    GSF's Armor Division owns some of the heaviest armored assets in the battalion. Commanders on this division relies on the use of heavy vehicles and state of the art vehicle modifications to destroy it's enemies. The pride of the GSF's heavy machinery ; the M33 Battletank coupled with specialized Active Protection System (APS) often proves to be an unstoppable force on the frontline.



    FORTIFICATION
    GSF's Fortification Division relies on powerful defensive strategies and area denial capabilities. Commanders of this division usually prefers to set up resilient forward bases to hold key territories. With it's powerful defensive upgrade, you could easily create unbreakable strongholds on the frontline, slowly pushing enemy through a battle of attrition.

    Greetings Officer!

    For today's countdown, we're showing off the 2nd pair of new battlesuits that will become available at launch. So give a round of applause for the Ace Vanguard, and Berserker battlesuit.





    The AEOLUS suit specializes in timing strikes and guerilla warfare. It utilizes unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAV) and the hybrid suit's superior agility to fight with minimal exposure.



    The Eagle Strike ability can be used for both offensive or defensive maneuver, be it charging in and deal AOE damage, or for tactical retreat, it can be used for both!



    Model "115" Berserker is a close-quarter battlesuit that is adept at storming into fortified position. This battlesuit is often equipped by an officer who is interested in a more "hands-on" approach.



    Capable of absorbing great amount of damage using Kinetic Collector, and temporarily disabling a vehicle, the Berserker is perfect as an initial assault force when faced with enemy charges.

    We hope that you are as excited for the release as we are, with the day of 1.0 Release coming just around the corner, we have quite a few contents lined up to showcase just before the release day!     Battlesuits
    Battlesuits are powerful suits that can be called down by players at the cost of weapon credits. Wearing these suits will grant players abilities that can change the tides of battle. We increased the amount of Battlesuits from 4 to 8 for the 1.0 launch.

    On top of that, these Battlesuits now have Passive abilities in addition of their 2 Active ones. The Passive abilities will compliment the roles of the Battlesuit further while making each and every one more unique to play.

    New Unit Lineups

    This is a big one. The entire unit roster of Eximius has been more than doubled now. With the introduction of this new feature, Each faction will be sub-divided into 3 division.

    These divisions have different capabilities; ranging from new units, new technologies to new Commander Abilities. Each offering a different playstyle of your choice. Faction division can be selected during the setup lobby.

    We don't want to get too much into detail since this itself will take an entire post. There will be a follow-up video during one of the countdown. Stay tuned to catch the details of the new units, abilities and upgrades.


    DBNO


    The 'Down But Not Out' (DBNO) mechanic make its way into Eximius. When you're defeated by a player, your teammates has a limited amount of time to bring you back into the battle.

    For those in Early Access, you would recognize the GSF units on the left. Those models were used since our prototype and they have served their purpose as a placeholder. We remastered them along with many of the older assets in Eximius such as buildings and weapons.

    New voice lines are added for all units for both RTS and FPS as well. On the FPS side, units can play different voice cues depending on the context such as "Under Attack" or "Enemy Spotted". Keep an ear out and take advantage of the situation.

    Two new maps will be added

    First is Sunday Mall, a PVP map centered around large open space of carpark and mall. Get your shopping gear ready as we raid the frontline.

    The second one is Precious Cargo, an escort PVE mission. Players will need to protect a moving cargo from enemy raiders and bombers.

    On top of having new maps. All the current PVP / PVE map has gone through remastering. Lighting, shading , foliage and assets has been remastered and optimized. Below are some examples

    New Techtree

    On the Commander side, the entire Techtree has gone through an overhaul. Previously we didn't have a proper tiering system, resulting in all technology unlock being lumped into one or two tech building. With this new system, as you tech up, the tiers are much more distinct. Each faction will start from Tier 1, and will advance to Tier 2 and then finally in Tier 3, commander will choose to commit their resources into one of the 3 possible Tier 3 branch. This will be applicable to both factions. The picture above shows the three possible branching tech at tier 3.

    Take an example of GSF. After having Armored Logistics in Tier 2, you can choose to upgrade one of the three possible structure into a Tier 3 tech building.

    Reinforcement System

    Reinforcement Tier 2

    A new reinforcement system is introduced for Eximius 1.0. We intend for it to work primarily as an underdog mechanic by giving the losing team a small boost of units. The reinforcement will activate when a team Victory Points drop below a certain threshold. Each team will have 3 charges of Reinforcement. Use this to your advantage!

    Players can personalise their Player Cards by mix and matching their frames and emblems

    Costume Battle Pass System. Players can equip and level up their obtained cosmetic pack


    At Level 6, attached Squad Units will receive cosmetics as well.

    The customization system has finally been unlocked. A high demand feature that we have been working on for some time. Players can now purchase skin packs from in-game store and level them up. As they level up, more cosmetic options will be unlocked similar to a Battle Pass. There will be no lootbox or pay-to-win mechanics.

    Complete UI Revamp


    Every single major part of the UI has been revamped. Starting from the main menu all the way the FPS and RTS HUD screens. This is something you definitely won't miss when logging into the game.

    After 2 years of being in early access, we are proud and excited to move Eximius out of Early Access.

    Throughout our development, we always wanted to make an awesome strategic shooter, blending the best experiences of FPS and RTS. With Eximius, we think that we managed to craft a unique and fun experience and we can't wait to share them with you thanks to the big participation from our players. Many features , innovation and changes were the result of our discussions with our community at Discord ( discord.gg/ammoboxstudios ).

    We cannot emphasize enough on how big of a change v1.0 will be and we're excited to reveal this over the next several weeks. In short :

    • A big chunk of the gameplay code was rebuilt from ground-up from scratch.
    • There is more than double the available of new units and battlesuits.
    • Massive change to the Tiering system in RTS and a range whole new technology and ability for players.
    • Significant portion of Art Assets are remastered into much higher quality. For example, every single GSF Infantry unit now have a new look.
    • The entire network backend was rewritten from the ground up. Featuring customisation, progression unlock and an in-game store were some of the resulting changes.
