Foxhole - Clapfoot

New Map! Weathered Expanse

The Weathered Expanse is a vast wintery wasteland, featuring harsh and unforgiving features. With large open snowy fields, the remains of a devastated fortress, and complex road structure, this might be the most dynamic map in Foxhole yet.

World Conquest War #5

On Saturday, May 27th at 11:00 AM EDT, World Conquest war #5 begins. All Foxhole players are called upon to fight in a single unified war spanning 4 regions, including Weathered Expanse.

There are also a lot of gameplay changes to world conquest in this update including the ability to travel between regions using vehicles. I highly suggest reading the full release notes HERE.

Bunker

The Bunker will be a new structure that will allow base builders create more complete defense perimeters that will be harder to penetrate without a long range weapons crew like a Mortar or Field Artillery team. The Bunker will be the most heavily armored passive defense structure in the game yet, and will have a 180 degree firing arc. This will make it near impossible for players to take out a Bunker or neighboring walls with Satchel Charges, unless someone else is drawing it's fire. Players will be able to enter the structure through a back door and fire at enemies below.

High Explosive Grenade

This handheld, high explosive grenade is effective at taking out lightly armored structures and vehicles. It has a short to medium throw distance, but is the first line of defense against Foxholes and Pillboxes when higher technology levels are not available yet.

World Conquest Trial #2

On Saturday, May 13th at 11:00 AM EDT, the second World Conquest war begins. All Foxhole players are called upon to fight in a single unified war spanning 4 regions!

There are also a lot of critical changes to combat and world conquest in this update. I highly suggest reading the full release notes HERE.

We just launched an update (0.0.28.12) last night, which supports the first version of World Conquest mode. World Conquest is a feature we've been working on for awhile that allows hundreds of players to fight in the same persistent war that spans multiple regions. Players will be able to travel in between regions from in-game and the war won't be won until a win condition is met across multiple regions simultaneously. Join now to be a part of the biggest Foxhole event yet.

Trial #1

This event will be the first test for World Conquest mode. We will be running additional tests in the coming weeks.

Event Details
  • World Conquest war will take place across 4 regions: Deadlands, Upper Heartlands, Endless Shore, and Umbral Wildwood
  • Win Condition will be to claim all towns in 3 of the 4 regions
  • When a region has all towns claimed by one faction, the opposing faction will only be able to enter the region through travel (and not from the World Conquest screen)
  • Region travel will be enabled
  • Upper Heartlands will initially be claimed by Colonials and Endless Shore will be initially claimed by Wardens. The image below illustrates the starting conditions of this war.

Known Issues (Important)
  • If you travel to a neighboring region and your faction is full, you will be put back to your previous region but at a random travel point
  • If you travel to a neighboring region that is completely claimed by the enemy and die, you will spawn at a random travel point
  • There are two region travel points in the Upper Heartlands that lead to slightly offset destination points in neighboring regions
  • Player counts for each faction are not being reported on the World Conquest screen

The Trial event will be running on a highly experimental version for World Conquest mode. There are many missing features, bugs, and gameplay issues with the mode at present. We intend to sort out these issues in the coming weeks. We ask for your patience and understanding in the event of problems. Thank you for your continued support.

Read the following post for further details about the event: DETAILS

Sticky Bomb

This is a high yield, anti-armor explosive with a short fuse. It is covered with a strong adhesive that allows it to be attached to moving vehicles and other surfaces.

Destructible World Structures

All world structures are now destructible. This will open up new strategies like scorched-earth tactics or targeting enemy production towns. We have also redesigned the models for the Workshop, Supply Station, and Manufacturing Plant structures.

Firing Ranges

Firing Ranges are now located in several regions of the world. Players will be able to use these to test out weapons and get feedback on damage statistics. This will enable players to better understand how each weapon works and in the long run, improve game balance.

PRELUDE WAR EVENT

On Saturday, April 29th at 11:00 AM EDT, a special war will be taking place with a special win condition. This war will take place on the Deadlands and Upper Heartlands. The war will be won when the enemy overruns both regions simultaneously. A region is overrun by claiming a certain number of towns (6 for Upper Heartlands / 8 for Deadlands). This event will be used to test the back end functionality for World Conquest mode, which will be coming next week if things go well. Look forward to more news on World Conquest mode in the coming days!

There are also a bunch of other changes in this update. Full release notes can be read HERE. If you'd rather not read release notes, community member I Saw A Bear walks through the latest update in this excellent video.

Carbine

A new weapon has arrived! The Carbine is a lightweight semi-automatic weapon that will provide greater mobility and a faster rate of fire than the Rifle. It will fire 7.62mm rounds, that will come in special cartridges of 15.

Callouts

Callouts will allow players to quickly send predetermined messages to other players. Think of this as a shortcut for common text messages. Instead of typing "Retreat" or "Enemies sighted at J5" into text chat, you will be able to click on an overlay that appears over the HUD. There will be two types of Callouts, local and global. Local callouts are performed from the HUD view and Global ones are performed from the map screen. Some Callouts will allow you to specify a location as well. This is a feature that we will be improving upon over time.

This update contains lots of other game balance changes and bug fixes. Full release notes can be read HERE.
