Prisoners, get ready for a new challenge. And if you haven't finished Rundown 003 / The Vessel yet, now is the time. In seven days - October 22nd, 1 PM CET - we will release the next major GTFO update: Rundown 004 / Contact.
In this Rundown, we're introducing some big new core features. Features that we think will excite both seasoned, hardcore members of our community as well as new players wanting to get into GTFO.
Besides this, Prisoners will get:
A new environment, called Datacenter
A new, creepy enemy
New weapons and tools
More, we don't want to spoil too much for our Prisoners!
We think we can safely say: this will be the biggest GTFO update as of yet.
Prisoners, you got 7 days left to finish your current Rundown.
Get ready, Prisoners! Rundown 003 / The Vessel is NOW AVAILABLE!
As usual with GTFO Rundowns, it's adding a lot of new content: a new environment, called Lab, an all-new horrifying enemy (with the sounds coming out if it actually recorded by one of the developer's younger family members!), seven new expeditions, a bunch of new weapons, and more story. We know you've been wanting to discover the mysteries of the Complex underground, and you will now be able to find more clues to this.
To celebrate the update, GTFO is also 20% off on Steam - so if you have any friends that still haven't joined you down in the Complex, now is a great time!
Get ready for the next GTFO Rundown, namely The Vessel - that will introduce a new environment, called Lab, a bunch of new weapons, a terrifying all-new enemy, and more story! We know you've all have been wondering about what is really happening down in the Complex, and now you will be able to collect more clues and connect the dots.
As tradition has with GTFO, we don’t want to show too much and let you enjoy most of the stuff for the first time in the game. We can, however, tell you that one of the developer’s younger family members have been involved in recording the sounds coming out of the new horrifying thingy (!).
We're investing in GTFO!
We’ve been making investments to make sure GTFO is the high-quality hardcore experience you need, and help us in the journey towards Version 1.0.
For help with storytelling, we got – since earlier in the development – Adam Gascoine, who has been working on games such as DOOM, DOOM Eternal, and The Last of Us. We have also added strength in programming, and we have found someone very fitting for GTFO for support with art and design. We hope to be able to disclose who this is very soon!
Steam Trading Cards and addressing match-making
Other than all this glorious in-game content, we will also be adding Steam Trading Cards to GTFO when launching this Rundown. So you’ll be able to collect and trade GTFO themed cards! Nice.
Match-making. We know. Some of you Really – Want – It! And we’re working on it, for real, but it’s not yet ready for this Rundown. We’re doing it the right way, fitting for GTFO, and that takes time.
Until then, don’t forget our Discord that is booming right now. We’re over 185 000 members and one of the most active servers there is. If you haven’t, join us now!
Take care, stay safe, wash your hands, and thanks for your support!
Prisoners! Well done. For the last expeditions of Rundown 002 / Infection to be unlocked - D2 and E1 - The Warden had a specific target number of expedition survivals: over 1000 players had to survive D1.
That number is now reached and the game is updated with R2D2 and R2E1.
Good day, Prisoners. Yesterday we pushed out a new update with some balancing, tweaks, and laid some groundwork for future, bigger updates. As always, find the change list below.
