Here's the list of changes in Angeldust v3.6:

Stack overflow
In Angeldust v3.6 you can now vertically stack horizontal girders. Sounds complicated? It's actually pretty easy and cool:

This opens up a lot of new building possibilities. Horizontal lines have always been rare in Angeldust, but with the most recent updates you can finally expand your palette. obi2002 also shares a helpful image for everyone wanting to replicate the old 'grid' style:

Faraway, so close
I experimented (to much chagrin) with the building distance of the shovel, axe and blocks in Angeldust v3.4. Some people like a larger distance, some (as Swaleha puts it) dislike the "long range shovel". So you can now decide what you want:

Don't ask how I did it. It works. Trust me! :)

Small talk
As you can see the Angeldust v3.6 update contains relatively few changes. I (Firefly, developer of the game) think we're in a good spot for the official Steam release now. Over the past years I've added lots of your suggestions in one way, shape or form.

Now I'm eager to see how the world reacts to Angeldust proper. Barring any major game-breaking bugs, this will probably be the version that is released to the public. Of course I will continue to offer support and updates after the official release.

Here's the list of changes in Angeldust v3.5:

We never go out of style
With Angeldust v3.5 you can now easily choose between the "Cartoon" or "3D" visual style using the new style chooser:

The visual style chooser pops up at first Angeldust start-up and can later be accessed using the language selection button on the sign-in form.

Quicker, smoother, better, faster
Speaking of the "3D" visual style: it's been optimized a lot. Sprites now take up 33% less memory and render much faster thanks to precomputing detailed lighting information.

Sleeping village
Big changes to the game world village this time around! First up: all house building plots (my technical term) are now made of woodchips and fully flush with the pavement:

The woodchips add color to the village and thanks to the flush design it's easier to start building a tiny house (I'm hip!) where you don't get stuck in the floor. I've shoveled all the old gravel from inside the village to the pathways outside the village so new players can still easily discover both materials.

We now also have new and more detailed cupboards inside the village wall tool sheds. Courtesy of space is green (ignore the black void at the bottom :D):

Cellular control
All of these changes were of course done using the new cell targeting crosshair in Angeldust v3.5. Bigger and better. It's transparent and gray when inactive, opaque and fully colored when active:

Gonna make a change
Big news: Angeldust now stores more incremental backups of all land claims in the game. Firefly (that's-a me!) managed to load in about 120 backups of the game world, going back all the way to four days after the Angeldust v1.0 (pre-Steam!) launch day.

I hope to use this new functionality to create beautiful timelapse videos of the in-game wonders. More on this soon (hopefully)!

Additional changes
  • Fix block picker not targeting active photon blocks
  • Prevent a few Hero battle! (PvP) score exploits
  • Professionally translate recent game feature strings
  • Improve Android device and API support
  • Support even more game controller models
