What the hell is Seven: The Days Long Gone? Is it cyberpunk or technofantasy? Is it an isometric homage to Thief, or an open-world version of Shadow Tactics, or some kind of bug-eyed, zoomed-out Assassin s Creed? It s too early in the day (half past twelve in the afternoon) for me to answer these questions with any clarity. But the developers would probably say it s all of the above. Today, we released the third in series of game mechanic trailers for their Thief-inspired 3D isometric cRPG, SEVEN: THE DAYS LONG GONE, which launches on Steam on December 1, 2017. The first game mechanic trailer was for the first-ever climbing system for an iso-RPG. The second dealt with stealth and sneaking. The new trailer deal with COMBAT!!!!

In SEVEN: THE DAYS LONG GONE you play as Teriel, a master thief. As a master thief, players must sneak around sneak around, leveraging environment and lighting, smoke screens, traps, using parkour skills and the first ever climbing system to avoid detection. But sometimes, even the most carefully laid plans fail. What happens when Teriel cannot talk his way out of a tight spot? Then he must let the steel do the talking. Teriel can use one-handed, two-handed, dual wielded, range, and energy weapons as well as some devious contraptions crafted by his own hands. Combined with his amazing ability to move and his lethal supernatural powers, Teriel can be a deadly force to reckon with.

Seven: The Days Long Gone is a terrible name and a fascinating game. It s a stealthy RPG from former Witcher 3 devs that calls to mind everything from Thief to Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun. It s due out next week, but in the meantime I’ve been playing a little. Carry on for some thoughts and a new trailer with some stealth lessons to learn.

In SEVEN: THE DAYS LONG GONE you play as Teriel, a master thief. To be a master thief one must master the art of stealth movement, or sneaking. Learning when to avoid obstacles, traps, alarms, and armed guards is as important as learning to handle yourself when the shit hits the fan. Sneaking requires patience, strategy, and the ability to exploit your surroundings by moving vertically and horizontally, which isn’t the traditional manner commonly found in 3D Isometric RPGs. Sneaking combined with the first-ever climbing system enhances your ability to succeed!
