New Content & Features
New Unit: Howler
Howler Stats
Tier 2 (Cost: 35g)
Role: Versatile
Melee / Pierce / Natural
Wolf Pack: Each attack applies a stack of Wolf Prey for 3 seconds (stacking up to 10 times). Deals 6% (3% to bosses) bonus damage for each stack of Wolf Prey on its attack target.
New Unit: Sunfang
Sunfang Stats
Tier 2 Upgrade (Cost: 160g)
Role: Versatile
Melee / Pierce / Natural
Wolf Pack: Each attack applies a stack of Wolf Prey for 3 seconds (stacking up to 10 times). Deals 6% (3% to bosses) bonus damage for each stack of Wolf Prey on its attack target.
New Feature: First Purchase Bonus
Starting this patch, the first time you purchase each premium essence bundle, you get a big chunk of premium essence for FREE!
Every premium essence purchase goes towards supporting the game’s continued development. Thank you to everyone who continues to support the game. Without your support, the game would not be where it is today.
P.S. Remember to enter a creator code for 10% bonus premium essence! (and supporting a creator in the process!)
New Unlockables
Cool off from the summer heat with three new summery skins, including one more honorable mention from the community skin competition!
New Skin: Beach Party Cannoneer
Original concept by Drachir
New Skin: Tropical Imp
New Skin: Cryo Fire Lord
New Cards: Campaign, King, and Worker Cards
Introducing new collectible cards for the 14 campaign opponents as well as Earth King, Sky King, and Worker! - These are standard (non-secret) cards with legendary rarity - These cards are only obtainable via the Card Trader (they cannot be found in-game)
Game Balance
General
Haste (4v4 Dual Building) - Attack speed bonus to enemies: 2% → 3% - AOE reduction for enemies: 45% → 47.5%. This nerf also affects Hades’ Necromancy.
Dual building is too strong when mastered and is currently a point of frustration.
King - Upgrade Regen: 0.005% → 0.006%
Right now if your king takes too much damage, upgrading regen often seals your fate by giving up too much pressure. A regen buff makes recover + scale a viable alternative.
High win rate. Shifting power from the ability to autoattack damage to make it more consistent with Banana Haven. Still an overall nerf.
Gateguard / Harbinger / Lord of Death / Hades / Shadow Dancer / Dread Knight - After a summoned unit has been alive for 50 seconds, it starts degenerating 10% max health per second
Weaker when holding for teammates, which was a point of frustration.
Mercenaries
Witch - Attack speed: 1.43 → 1.35
Still the top performing mercenary.
Waves
Wave 6 (Rockos) Damage: 40 → 37 - Impale reworked — Old: Each attack has a 25% chance to deal 150% damage — New: Each attack amplifies damage by 3% (1.5% to the king), stacking up to 10 times
This removes rng from the ability, rewards having multiple units partially tank, and incentivizes cheaper units in the early game.
Balance Watchlist
The dev team is constantly monitoring game balance, between looking at data and listening to community feedback. If specific units/spells are being more closely monitored than usual, they will be listed in this Balance Watchlist section. For this patch, the following are on the watchlist:
Treant + upgrades
Grarl + upgrades
Eggsack
Cartel
Improvements & Fixes
New Mouse Cursor
Long overdue, the mouse cursor has received a modern refresh!
Improvements
Emotes: Added a clickable button to use emotes. We’re still gathering feedback and will likely make other improvements to the emotes system in the future. (Screenshot)
Game Coach: Added the “Randomize Every Game” option in the Shop > Game Coach tab
Matchmaking: Improved match fairness for players with less than 10 ranked games in the current season. For such players, it will take into account last season’s peak Elo. This should greatly improve match fairness at the start of seasons, as well as for players who are returning from a break and starting the season a bit late.
Creditor: Earned gold message now displays “MAX” if you earned max gold (Screenshot) and a percentage if you earned less than max
Postgame Builds: Mousing over a unit icon now shows the unit name
Fixes
King Upgrades: Fixed a bug where a queued king upgrade wouldn’t go through if you hit 20 mythium just before the wave started (Credits to Kidev)
Parties: Fixed a bug where a party invite from a friend in another player’s party would display the invite from the party owner, instead of the friend
Cards: Fixed a bug where Game Coach cards were not able to be donated or sold
Nekomata: Fixed a bug where the max stacks re-texture wasn’t showing up
Known Bugs
Currently investigating a bug from last patch where the main menu background wrongly shows up in-game, preventing player actions.

Closing Remarks
With this update, we are excited to introduce new doggos to the game . These units should be easier-to-use compared to some of the other recent new units, while still offering interesting strategies.
We're also excited to introduce the First Purchase Bonus to encourage more people to support the game's development; even if it's just a one-time purchase, every purchase really does help.
Thank you again for playing Legion TD 2! We hope you continue to enjoy the game.
If you've enjoyed the game, but haven't left a review yet, please consider posting a short review for the game! It really helps get the word out there.
If you enjoy these updates, please give it a Thumbs Up, too!
And as always, if you have constructive criticism, let's chat about it. Discord and reddit are our main channels of communication, and aside from the development team, there are community helpers who can ensure your feedback is heard, as well as answer pretty much anything you've ever wanted to know about the game. If you want a guaranteed answer from the devs, the monthly AMAs on reddit are your best bet.
We are excited to announce our FIRST EVER tournament tailored towards players in Asia, Oceania, Europe, and Africa! Signup is, as always, open to everyone!
The upcoming Nekomata Cup takes place June 10 - 11.
$875 in prizes and sign-up is free - first come first served! There are up to five skill divisions, so no matter what your rating is, you have a chance to win. Participation prize: Every participant who plays all of their matches will receive a FREE random card. If you haven't played a tournament yet, this is a great time to join.
Prizes
Based on the amount of sign ups there will be up to 5 divisions with the following prizes:
When you watch Nekomata Cup on the official channel, aside from enjoying shoutcasted top-tier Legion gameplay, you'll also receive in-game rewards based on how long you watch!
Watch the official Legion TD 2 Twitch stream during a Nekomata Cup to earn the following rewards: - Watch for 60 minutes: 2,000 essence - Watch for an additional 90 minutes: 4,000 additional essence - Watch for an additional 120 minutes: Random card
In other words, if you watch the Nekomata Cup both days, you'll earn 6,000 total essence and a random card!

Team Sign-up Instructions
Sign-ups are open from NOW until June 10 at 6pm KST (UTC+9) / 11am CEST.
To sign up, find a teammate and form a party. After you're both in the party, have one player type "/signup [team name]" (e.g. /signup Snail Kings) in chat. You should see a confirmation message that your sign-up went through.
The first 16 teams to sign up in each division can participate. Other teams are waitlisted. There are usually no-shows, so waitlisted teams are encouraged to be present in the Discord and ready to play. {LINK REMOVED}View the team list to see your sign-up position and division.
If there are more than 32 teams checked in, there will be an additional best-of-1 qualifying round to allow more teams to participate. It is a best-of-1, rather than a best-of-3, to keep the event from running overly long.
You may sign-up as a solo with a suggested team name using the "/signup [team name]" command. Solo teams will be added to the Public Teams list, then be formed into teams on the day of the tournament. Solo teams will be randomly assigned a team name from either of its members.
If there is a waitlist, team sign-ups will always take priority over solo sign-ups
If you sign up as a solo, but then you find a teammate, you can re-sign up as a team any time before check-ins start. Just use the /signup command again with the new teammate. The tournament organizer will void your old solo signup after they process your new team signup.
After check-ins are over, all checked-in solo players will be randomly formed into teams by the tournament organizer. You cannot request a specific teammate at this point; if you want to play with a specific person, you should have signed up as a team instead.
It is still strongly recommended to sign-up as a team to guarantee your spot in the tournament and to give you time to practice with your teammate beforehand.
See you on June 10th! The Nekomata Cup will be casted and streamed at https://twitch.tv/ltd2. Check the Tournament Discord on the event day for links to the other casts.

Game Balance
Legion Spells
Dark Ritual - Gold: 140 --> 145
Low win rate and pick rate.
Divine Blessing - Health: 2250 --> 2150
High win rate and pick rate. Too strong with ranged off-tanks like Azeria.
Investment - Income: 34 --> 33
High pick rate and indirectly buffed by king changes.
Loan - Income penalty: -34 --> -33
Low win rate and pick rate.
Power Score
- Now weighs mythium slightly higher
This slightly nerfs long-saving mythium by making it less likely for saving to cause your opponents to go on fire.
King - Health increased by +13% → +3% from waves 1 → 21 - Attack damage and spell damage adjusted by +5% → -4% from waves 1 → 21 - Wave 9’s Deflection now reduces damage from the king by 6% - Wave 18’s Poison-Tipped Pole now deals 40 bonus damage against the king - Removed a health nerf that only previously applied to waves 9 and 18
Buffing the king early game to make leaks to the king less punishing and encourage more workers.
King damage will also be more consistent on waves 9 and 18. Previously, mercenaries like Ogre on 9 and Four Eyes on 18 did disproportionately too much damage, while the waves themselves did unexpectedly little damage.
Back when cheap unit spam was a dominant strategy, cheap units were heavily nerfed. Now that the game has checks against spam, it’s safe to rebuff these units. To test things and avoid disruption, we’re only buffing underperforming units, not adjusting units that would require power shifts (e.g. shifting power from Consort to Buzz). We may consider this in a future patch.
Making sure the meta includes a healthy mix of income sending, short saves, long saves, split sends, coordinated sends, high income mercenaries, power mercenaries, and king ups. There are a lot of levers to adjust these things (mercenary stats, mythium rate, king power, tenacity, leak gold, pillage gold, etc.).
Currently, king damage in the early game is too punishing, so we're buffing the king. We'll continue to evaluate and make improvements. We're always monitoring all aspects of game balance, looking at data, and listening to community feedback.
Improvements & Fixes
Improvements
Game Text: Pirate translation is now selectable via Options > Language. Ya-ha-har!
Pings: Player name is now displayed beneath each ping (Screenshot)
Tooltips: Added a damage type icon and improved readability for all abilities with damage type different than that of the unit.
Performance: Minor improvements to client performance in big battles. This may inadvertently sometimes cause some graphical glitches with missiles; please report a bug if you see them, and we’ll revert the change.
Emojis: Added wp, smiling_face_with_tear, and melting_face (Screenshot)
Spectator HUD: Removed Net Worth & Builds from the main HUD. Scaled larger on 2560x1440 screens. This should improve the Nova Cup viewing experience!
Fixes
Gameplay: Fixed a bug where Sakura’s value calculation was incorrectly increasing by 15 instead of 30 on waves 11+
Gameplay: Fixed a bug where Treasure Hunt did not grant mythium on Wave 21+
Gameplay: Fixed a bug where queued King Upgrades wouldn’t prevent using Embargo and vice versa
Gameplay: Fixed a bug where the “Guild Member” Steam achievement didn’t unlock for guild leaders creating their own guild
Gameplay: Fixed a bug where Fiesta gold was mistakenly given after using Restart in campaigns/AI games
Gameplay: Fixed a bug where Tree of Life’s Devotion buff wasn’t correctly applied after doing a -load build
Postgame: Fixed a rare case where First Win of the Day Essence bonus wasn’t given if the game ended right at the cutoff date
Profile: Fixed a bug where the Game Stats - Openings column wasn’t properly sortable
Client: Tweaked a few client fonts to support displaying non-alphanumeric characters
Client: Fixed a bug where the popup when choosing a guild avatar mistakenly displayed gold/silver borders when it shouldn’t have
HUD: Fixed a bug where the Ready button was mistakenly draggable using ctrl+shift
Card Trader: Fixed a rare case where a reroll was consumed, but didn’t actually reroll the card selection
Stability: Fixed some rare cases of game instability with lots of units

Tier 3 Upgrade (Upgrade Cost: 180g)
Role: Versatile
Melee / Impact / Fortified
2200 HP / 94 DPS
Forbidden Fruit: Gains mana every time it attacks and is attacked. When this unit reaches max mana or dies, deals up to 600 Magic damage to nearby enemies, based on its current mana.

Major Improvement: Card Trader
Our favorite in-game merchant has beefed up his supply.
New Feature: Reroll: You can now reroll the Card Trader 1x per day, with up to 4x rerolls stored. Rerolling gives you completely new cards to choose from for that day. (Screenshot)
New Feature: Show My Stacks: You can now toggle a checkbox to show your current stacks of each card. (Screenshot)
New Unlockable: Oasis Background
Animated backgrounds give your game client a new look. Unlock them in the shop! (Screenshot)
Game Balance
Classic
Mode Voting: Mode Voting now requires 2 more yes votes than no votes to pass (up from 1). Super Fiesta: Reworked. Now replaces regular Fiesta with Super Fiesta, which gives 100% Fiesta gold to yourself and 50% to each of your allies.
These two tweaks should alleviate some players' concerns about feeling forced to play a different playstyle than they wanted
Mastermind
Cash Out - Starting gold: 22 → 21
Our philosophy is to balance mastermind playstyles around Greed to avoid power creep. Cash Out is currently out-performing Greed.
Cartel is not being nerfed because it’s only strong for the top 2% of players, and even among this 2%, it’s strong but not heavily outclassing other playstyles.
Fiesta When picking Fiesta, you now have a 50% reduced chance of rolling Seedling.
Reducing the frequency of a fun, but game-distorting combo.
King - Health increased: +30% on wave 1 → +5% on wave 21 - Damage rescaled: +10% on wave 1 → -5% on wave 21 - Giant Slayer: 20% → 12% - Upgrade Attack now affects Giant Slayer damage - Upgrade Attack and Spell: 10% → 7% - Lightning Hammer damage: -26% on wave 1 → -36% on wave 21 - Lightning Hammer now deals 4% current health damage (this is affected by Upgrade Spell)
These changes address some previously-unintuitive strategies, like upgrading spell being better than upgrading attack for Wave 20. Now:
Upgrade Attack is now more impactful against big targets.
Conversely, an unupgraded king is more vulnerable to big targets.
Tip: Upgrade Attack on boss waves or if you’re expecting a Mimic on 7 or Ogre on 9!
The king now takes slightly more damage against swarms, like wave 16.
No outliers that we want to call out individually. As always, we'll continue to keep a close eye on everything.
v10.02 has been, data-wise, the most balanced the game has ever been.
Fighters: spread between the worst and best unit (according to Jules' power index) is the smallest it's ever been
Waves: healthy distribution of game-ending waves
Mercenaries: all seeing healthy usage & consistent performance
Mastermind: all playstyles seeing healthy usage & consistent performance
Legion Spells: all seeing healthy usage & consistent performance
Openings: lots of openings being widely used at all skill levels
That's not to say it's perfect (after all, we're continuing to patch the game), but it's worth celebrating.
Fixes & Improvements
Takeover Bots: Fixed a few more cases where a takeover bot would send without his team
Options: Fixed a bug where the Client Background “Randomize on Startup” setting wasn’t saving/working properly
Matchmaking: Improved matchmaking fairness for players under 1800 (tweaked a few edge-cases that shouldn’t slow down anything for most matches)
FairPlay: Players muted for >30 days can now only ping once per minute. By comparison, players muted for <30 days can ping twice per 25 seconds (unchanged).
FairPlay: Players muted for >30 days can now only -ff once per 5 minutes. Players muted for <30 days can -ff once per 2 minutes (new limit).
Codex: Fixed a bug that caused the game to freeze when opening codex on some non-English languages
Codex: Fixed a bug that prevented filtering on non-english languages
Community Highlight

Closing Remarks
With this update, we are excited to introduce new units that will open up new synergies and strategies. As always, we'll continue to iterate until we get it right, so be ready for hotfixes soon after release. We've also made some tweaks to Classic mode voting based on data & player feedback. Finally, we've given the Card Trader some love and fixed a few nagging bugs.
We know there's still much to improve, so let's work together.

More tweaks to Classic game modes. We are still gathering feedback & monitoring, and may have bigger changes in v10.03. Thank you to everyone who has and continues to give constructive feedback!
Hot Mode: Rotates daily instead of weekly
Blitz: Slowed down a bit, and fixed a bug with wind gust & clock tick sound
A few misc. tooltip fixes and other cosmetic fixes
Last week, we had also made the following changes (listed here in case you missed them!)
Super Fiesta: You can now pick Fiesta to bring your Fiesta gold to the moon
Ordered Chaos: You can now pick other Legions/Masterminds if you want, but Chaos now gives +6 income. So you should still pick Chaos. ;)
Double Lock-In: You can now pick other Legions/Masterminds if you want.
Classic Mode Reworks • Super Fiesta: You can now pick Fiesta to bring your Fiesta gold to the moon • Ordered Chaos: You can now pick other Legions/Masterminds if you want, but Chaos now gives +6 income. So you should still pick Chaos. 😉 • Double Lock-In: You can now pick other Legions/Masterminds if you want.
These changes should allow players more freedom to play what they want, while the optimal play is to still to go along with the featured Mastermind.
Minor Fixes • Profile: Game Stats: Improved some formatting by hiding some values if they were 0

Note: - Please note that the starting times will change from 6 pm CET to 7 pm CEST during the weekend due to the switch to summer time - We might add a fifth division if there's enough demand to make matchups more fair.
Team Sign-up Instructions
Sign-ups are open from NOW until March 25 at 9am PST / 6pm CET.
To sign up, find a teammate and form a party. After you're both in the party, have one player type "/signup [team name]" (e.g. /signup Snail Kings) in chat. You should see a confirmation message that your sign-up went through. For those who participated in previous Nova Cups, you no longer need to do /join to signup.
Like last month, you may now sign up as a solo player!
See you on March 25th! The Nova Cup will be casted and streamed at https://twitch.tv/ltd2. Check the Tournament Discord on the event day for links to the other casts.
