News & Updates - Upcoming September Nova Cup is September 17-18. Sign-up while you still can! - If you missed it, check out my (Lisk's) Reddit AMA from last month! I've been doing these every major patch, so keep an eye out next week for the next one.
New Units: Slime Larva & Slime Siren
Slime Larva
Tier 2 (Cost: 50g)
Role: Versatile
Melee / Impact / Arcane
400 HP / 24 DPS
Mini Slime When this unit dies, it leaves behind a Mini Slime.
Slime Siren
Tier 2 Upgrade (Upgrade cost: 125g)
Role: Versatile, Mana User
Melee / Impact / Arcane
1240 HP / 73 DPS
Slime Propagation Gains mana whenever it attacks or is attacked. When this unit dies, it leaves behind a Slime Larva. If its mana is maxed, it spawns an extra Slime Larva.
New Skin: Mecha Arctaire
New Skin: Underworld Great Boar
Improvements & Fixes
Major Improvements
Interface: You can now queue mercenaries via hotkeys. Default is pressing Shift+A, Shift+S, etc. It is customizable in the Options > Controls menu.
Bots: Now a bit smarter in a variety of situations. Bots received some love as part of the development of the upcoming Desert Ridge campaign.
Campaign: Shadowynn & King Dan now perform more consistently (overall buff). Added a congratulations popup after you beat King Dan on Normal. Fixed some -restart bugs.
Performance: Improved performance when wave starts (there’s more to still be done in future patches)
Minor Improvements
Game Coach: No longer warns/bothers you about your Mastermind roll if you picked Yolo
Takeover Bots: Now Auto-sends if its allies are all Auto-sending, instead of never Auto-sending at all. This should help Takeover bots not fall behind as much in Classic.
Codex: Now rounds “per gold” numbers to 2 decimal places instead of 1
New Emojis: "pogchamp" and "tools"
Bug Fixes
Gameplay: Fixed a major bug with Harpy and Sky Queen not attacking as fast as their numbers indicated. Some units with Dark Mage buff also didn’t attack as fast as they should have, and the same fix applies to those.
Profiles & Stats: Fixed some rare cases where Season Goals or other rewards weren’t given out in some rare circumstances
Interface: Fixed a bug where flying units had their selection hitboxes too low. They should be easier to click now.
Tooltips: Fixed a bug where Mana Regen percentages for units without natural mana regen were displaying incorrectly
Controls: Fixed a bug where Ctrl+Shift/Ctrl+Alt/Alt+Shift modifiers didn’t save/load properly
Pause: Fixed a bug where the game would sometimes think you were AFK if pausing the game for a long time
Localization & API
Localization: Improved formatting of Google Sheets (word wrap is now enabled!)
Localization: Fixed a bug where some translation fields weren’t available on the Google Sheets, such as “Already Equipped”, “Owned”, “Not Available”, “Buy”, and a few others
API: Variety of fixes & improvements
API: Added valuePerWave property to see player value per wave (including stacks)
King - Health and damage increased slightly on wave 13 only - Upgrade King Attack: 17% → 18%
Legion Spells
Hero - Damage and damage reduction: 5.5% → 5.25%
High win rate and pick rate.
Glacial Touch - Damage: 50 → 45
High pick rate.
Titan - Health: 1350 → 1400
Slightly low win rate and pick rate.
Fighters
Zeus - Attack speed: 2.353 → 2.326
High win rate.
Harpy / Sky Queen - Fixed a bug where Harpy and Sky Queen were doing significantly less damage than expected at high attack speeds. This bug is the reason previous attack speed buffs had little to no effect. - Decreased attack speed by 30%. Together with the bug fix, this is still an overall buff, since the previous Harpy/Sky Queen patches didn't do what they were supposed to. - Sky Queen damage: 70 --> 67
Snail and Dragon Turtle have been outshining higher income mercenaries most of the time. No longer!
Brute - Health: 870 → 880 - Damage: 55 → 56
With this patch’s buffs to income mercenaries, Brute is also receiving a very small buff to make sure it continues to be worth the risk (giving up income) in the early game.
Pack Leader - Leadership Aura: Damage increase: 6 (15 for bosses) → 5 (15 for bosses)
Pack Leader continues to be almost always good and too often the best choice, crowding out other options and outshining more expensive mercenaries in the late game. This change makes Pack Leader weaker in the late game. Wave adjustments (see below) keep Pack Leader viable in the early game.
This change keeps Pack Leader viable on early waves without changing any DPS.
Community Wiki
As announced last patch, the official community Legion TD 2 Wiki launched last month!
The wiki is quickly becoming the definitive source of information about the game. - Want to know how to strategically use Chloropixies? Check the Chloropixie page! - Want to know how FairPlay works behind the scenes? Check the FairPlay page!
Awesome job to everyone who has contributed so far and continues to contribute.
The wiki is community written & driven, and anyone can contribute! Join the Legion TD 2 Contributors Discord to chat with other contributors. I (Lisk) am always in there, too.
Closing Remarks
We hope you enjoy this patch! Thank you again for playing Legion TD 2.
We are excited to report that the second campaign, Desert Ridge, is making good progress and is estimated to release at the end of November. Much more info is coming in next month's patch notes (October).
Before that, make sure to catch this month's Nova Cup on Twitch THIS weekend. Check the Legion TD 2 eSports Portal for all info.
If you've enjoyed the game, but haven't left a review yet, please consider posting a short review for the game! It really helps get the word out there.
If you enjoy these updates, please give it a Thumbs Up, too!
And as always, if you have constructive criticism, let's chat about it. Discord is our main channel of communication, and aside from the development team, there are community helpers who can ensure your feedback is heard, as well as answer pretty much anything you've ever wanted to know about the game. We know there's still much to improve, so let's work together.
Congratulations to the winners of last month's Nova Cup! - D1: abrasiert: Kingdanzz & Widderson - D2: roshi: WildTurtle & MasterRoachie - D3: whiz kids: Marqu1s & Bioflame - D4: valorantisbetter: MidoraSolos & MGM
Yes, that's the real WildTurtle, the League of Legends LCS pro! Last month was the largest Nova Cup turnout ever, so an extra congratulations to the winners.

This Month
The upcoming September Nova Cup takes place September 17-18.
$750 in cash prizes and sign-up is free - first come first served! There are four skill divisions, so no matter what your rating is, you have a chance to win. Participation prize: Every participant who plays all of their matches will receive a FREE random card. If you haven't played a tournament yet, this is a great time to join.
Sign-up Instructions
Sign-ups are open from NOW until September 17 at 9am PDT / 6pm CEST.
To sign up, find a teammate and log into Legion TD 2. Both players should join a unique chat lobby by typing /join team name (e.g. /join Snail Kings) in Global Chat. After you're both in the lobby, have one player type /signup.
The first 16 teams to sign up in each division can participate. Other teams are waitlisted. There are usually no-shows, so waitlisted teams are encouraged to be present in the Discord and ready to play. {LINK REMOVED}View the team list to see your sign-up position and division.
If there are more than 32 teams checked in, there will be an additional best-of-1 qualifying round to allow more teams to participate. It is a best-of-1, rather than a best-of-3, to keep the event from running overly long.
Like last month, you may now sign up as a solo player!
You may sign-up as a solo player using the usual /signup command, and you will be added to the public Teams list as usual
If there is a waitlist, team sign-ups will always take priority over solo sign-ups
If you sign up as a solo, but then you find a teammate, you can re-sign up as a team any time before check-ins start. Just use the /signup command again with the new teammate. The tournament organizer will void your old solo signup after they process your new team signup.
After check-ins are over, all checked-in solo players will be randomly formed into teams by the tournament organizer. You cannot request a specific teammate at this point; if you want to play with a specific person, you should have signed up as a team instead.
It is still strongly recommended to sign-up as a team to guarantee your spot in the tournament and to give you time to practice with your teammate beforehand.
Any team that fails to check in will be disqualified. The next team on the waitlist that checked in will earn a spot.
Format
All Divisions
Mastermind 2v2 (Tournament Mode)
Hybrid is banned
Single elimination
Best of 3. Best of 5 final
Division 1 Only: Conquest Format After winning a match using a particular Mastermind option, you can no longer use that Mastermind option for the rest of that series.
For example, if you win game 1 with Greed, you can't pick Greed the rest of the series.
The restriction applies to players individually; if your ally picks Greed, but you picked Yolo, you can still pick Greed next game, but your ally can't.
The restriction only applies to the winning players. If you lose the game, you can still pick the same options next game.
If you violate this rule and your opponent reports it, the game will be counted as an automatic loss for your team. Because this is a new rule, please show good sportsmanship and remind each other before starting the game.
The goal of the Conquest Format is to force the winning team to be able to win with a variety of playstyles, which leads to more varied matches. It also gives the losing team a little bit of help for the rest of the series. Credits to Pennywise#8456 and Shadowings#1413 for this format!

See the Nova Cup FAQ for prizes and additional rules.
See you on September 17th! The Nova Cup will be casted and streamed at https://twitch.tv/ltd2. Check the Tournament Discord on the event day for links to the other casts.

Gold Rush - All players gain 1-400 gold after each wave (exact formula is WaveNumber^2) - Worker gather rate is reduced by 3% (to keep games from getting too fed too fast)
New Team Member: Flight_Tv
We’re excited to officially introduce Flight_Tv as the Legion TD 2 Meme Master! He will be managing and creating content for AutoAttack Games’ Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube channels.
For those of you who don't know Flight, he's been creating Legion videos for years, from Early Access through release. His videos have been instrumental for a lot of people learning the game, and his Twitch channel has been the source of some of the more memorable memes in Legion history. We are thrilled to have him on board and await the memes with bated breath.
New Secret Card: Grumpy Antler
New Skins: Baby Angler
New Skin: Baby Bounty Hunter
Together with Baby Kingpin (already available), the set is now complete!
New Skin: Frozen Throne Doppelganger

Pings
- Added a new thinking bubble to the ping wheel, which will signal that you’re “wondering what to do next…” - If you ping the thinking bubble, then quickly ping one of the upcoming waves, it will display the “thinking about sending on” message - Pinging the wave bar (top of the HUD) will now always signal that you're expecting a send on that wave
Improvements & Fixes
Improvements
Bottom Bar: Added reddit link & Announcements button (to reopen latest news about the game)
Dual Building: In the 4v4 map, you can now ping the dual build area to display a “wants to dual build” message. If your ally pings a thumbs-up or pings the dual build area as well within 3 seconds, you will both receive a confirmation message and the dual building warning tooltip will be disabled. This is a small QoL feature intended to make dual build communication just a bit easier.
Attack Target Selection: You can now quickly select a unit’s attack target by right-clicking the unit’s icon. [Example
]
Fixes
Fixed a rare bug where restarting a campaign mission just before you lost would cause the game to become unstable
Fixed a rare bug where a player’s client would become unresponsive when a backend service provider had a specific outage
Game Balance
General
Ranked Ladder Players at the top of the ladder who are inactive lose a small amount of rating per week, to avoid camping for Ladder Points: - Players rated 2800+ lose 20 rating per week after 2 weeks of inactivity - Players rated 2601-2800 lose 10 rating per week after 2 weeks inactivity - Players rated 2600 and below are unaffected For next season (beginning in January), we'll be revamping the design of Ladder Points to further encourage activity.
King - Giant Slayer: 17% → 20% - AOE spell damage increased by 10-15% - Chain Frost and Lightning Hammer: Projectile speed increased to be less vulnerable to mass Froggos, etc. - Base attack damage decreased by 35% - Upgrade Attack: 11% → 15% - Upgrade Spell: 8% → 7%
Pushing last patch’s changes further. The king is now more vulnerable to small leaks and relatively less vulnerable to large leaks.
Legion Spells
Glacial Touch - Damage: 65 → 50
Still overperforming with the highest pick rate and a solid win rate.
Pushing last patch’s changes further. Rewarding players who keep Chloropixie alive longer, rather than just using her as a sacrificial lamb. This also nerfs Chloropixie spam in Classic.
Buzz / Consort - Attack speed: 1.01 → 0.99
High win rate.
Harpy / Sky Queen - Attack speed: 2.04 → 2.15
Low pick rate.
Desert Pilgrim - Mana regeneration increased by 8%
Slightly low pick rate and win rate.
Head Chef - Health: 3620 → 3670 - Damage: 124 → 126
Soul Gate / Hell Gate - Healing and regeneration are now 50% effective on the buildings themselves (still 100% effective on the summons)
Healing effects on Soul Gate and Hell Gate are fun but too strong, especially when playing with one holder who overbuilds. Healers such as Desert Pilgrim are also now less likely to target Soul Gate & Hell Gate.
Mercenaries
Cannoneer - Damage: 102 → 105
Drake - Attack speed: 0.97 → 1
These mid cost income mercenaries are overshadowed by power mercenaries and cheap income mercenaries in ranked.
Shaman - Mana regeneration decreased by 8%
Too much of a must-send on waves 18-21.
Closing Remarks

Cursed Casket
Tier 4 (Cost: 130g)
Role: Tank, Mana User
Melee / Pierce / Arcane
1580 HP / 22 DPS
Iron Hail Unleashes a volley of cursed swords, dealing 20x3 Pierce damage in a small area around her target.
Cage of Pain

Role: Tank, Mana User
Melee / Impact / Arcane
3930 HP / 54 DPS
Blade Storm Unleashes a volley of cursed swords, dealing 45x3 Pierce damage in a small area around her target. Also reduces the damage of targets by 1 for 3 seconds, stacking up to 10 times.
New Animated Background: Sovereign
New Skin: Hellfire Priestess of the Abyss
New Skin: Sovereign of Death
Improvements & Fixes
Major Improvements
Pause: You can now pause the game in Play vs. AI! You can still pause in Custom/Campaign games, as usual.
Game Coach: All Game Coaches now have more variations for their voice lines, so they should feel less repetitive now
Shop: Card Trader now has voice lines when you enter the shop and make purchases or idle around Website: Updated Features page, added Game Manual, and added Leaderboard
New Language Available: Lithuanian
Minor Improvements
Shop: Improved Backgrounds UI; now shows animated video preview and description when previewing a background
Game Coach: Fixed a few cases of the “You were overbuilt” tip displaying when it shouldn’t have
Takeover Bots: Now will ignore autosend (previously, if a player left autosend on when they left, the bot would always autosend)
New Players: Improved Classic matchmaking for new players (they now start lower rated, but gain more rating in their first 20 games)
Steam Achievements: “Work Work” achievement now only requires 70 workers instead of 100 (it was way too hard after removing 2x workers)
Battle Scars: Now displays units with the buff on the tab scoreboard
Fiesta: Now shows the total gold gained from Fiesta in the bottom left scoreboard
Bots: Now are able to play Fiesta and Chaos
Bug Fixes
Pathing & Targeting: Fixed some cases where leaked enemies would try to wander through walls into another lane
Profiles & Loading Screen: Fixed a bug where country flags were missing in some situations
Stability: Fixed a rare bug where the game would sometimes crash after loading the main menu
Weekly Challenge: Fixed a bug where the wrong winning build was being displayed when looking at the past week
Animations: Fixed a bug where spell animations played too quickly
Wave 21.1+: Fixed a bug where recommended value was wildly incorrect in some situations
Workers: Fixed a bug where the worker UI displayed one less worker than was actually queued
Workers: Fixed a very rare bug where the worker button stopped working
Guild War: Fixed a bug where bonus GXP wasn’t being added to individual player Guild Contribution
UI: Fixed various typos and minor bugs
Localization & API
API: Added support for tracking stacks per fighter in your build for units like Nekomata, Hydra, Sakura, etc.
API: Added support for tracking which unit you used your Legion Spell on (i.e. Hero, Villain, etc.)
Game Balance
General
King - Giant Slayer: 14% → 17% - Attack speed and Immolation damage increased by 15% - Base attack damage decreased by 40% - Upgrade Attack: 8% → 11% - Upgrade Spell: 9% → 8%
These changes make the king more vulnerable to small leaks and relatively less vulnerable to large leaks. This increases the viability of solo aggression (making one player leak, but not multiple) and makes the king less susceptible to being killed in a single wave.
Dual Building (4v4) - AOE damage reduction: -35% → -37.5%
AOE is a bit too strong in dual building. Along with the Pyro nerf (below), this should encourage other builds.
Mastermind
Cartel - Income penalty after wave 10: -37 → -36
Castle - Bonus income after wave 10: 44 → 45
Cash Out - Bonus gold: 22 → 23
Fiesta - Gold from leaking: 13-51 → 14-52
Greed and, to a lesser extent, Yolo continue to dominate both top ladder and tournament play. Slight buffs to other playstyles will diversify the meta.
High win rate and pick rate, Gargoyle and Green Devil remain the premier arcane tanks. Additionally, the wave adjustments indirectly buff Gargoyle and Green Devil, so a small nerf is in order.
Tempest - Fixed a bug where Machine Gunner was firing slower than intended
Leviathan - Fixed a bug where Bombardier was firing faster than intended
Sea Serpent - Health: 570 → 600
Deepcoiler - Health: 1740 → 1840
Low win rate and pick rate, Sea Serpent and Deepcoiler have been underperforming for a while.
High win rate and pick rate. It's a bit awkward to release the Sovereign animated background and a Sovereign skin and give it a nerf at the same time...but such is our commitment to keeping a balanced game.
Soul Gate / Hell Gate - Fixed a bug where sometimes they weren’t properly aggroed on ranged waves until the wave got near them
Gatling Gun / Vulcan Cannon - Fixed a rare bug where they would lock-on to a target that went out of range and wouldn’t switch to a new target
Desert Pilgrim / Seadragon / Lifebinder - Fixed a bug where mana cost wasn’t being properly refunded when it canceled its ability cast. Thanks to Reze#7495 for the video recordings of this bug.
Pack Rat - Fixed a bug where using Sacrifice while it was in Treasure Hunt form didn’t properly award full gold
Mercenaries
Pack Leader - Leadership aura: 7 (14 for bosses) → 6 (15 for bosses)
Pack Leader is almost always good and too often the best choice, crowding out other options and outshining more expensive mercenaries in the late game. This change makes Pack Leader weaker in the late game. Wave adjustments (see below) keep Pack Leader viable in the early game.
Pack Leader is now also more viable on wave 10. Previously, Mimic was better the vast majority of the time.
Four Eyes - Attack speed: 2.33 → 2.25
It's been a tad too strong/highly used. This should put it back in line with other power mercenaries.
Wave 18 has been weak for a couple patches, but these changes should make the Chiefs a threat again.

We're excited to announce the new Legion TD 2 eSports portal! - Browse through Legion TD 2's tournament history and see the most decorated tournament players. - The portal will also update in real-time during Nova Cups as they happen live!
You no longer have to crawl through Discord archives and feel like you have to use the Wayback machine just to see who won last Nova Cup.
Scroll down to see the Teams list. (Mostly) gone are the days of needing to have Discord, Challonge, and Google sheets open at the same time!
Discord will still be used for reporting tournament results. We'll continue to refine the website in the coming weeks/months, so you can consider the website as being in beta for now.
And with that in mind, onto the next Nova Cup!
Congratulations to the winners of the May Nova Cup! - Division 1: abrasiert: Kingdanzz & Widderson - Division 2: geegee: GehPennen & fine - Division 3: oldaf: Ukutura & Hecuba Vidar - Division 4: pipou company: Elyen & DrScramble - Missed the action? Division Rules
Ratings are calculated at the time of sign-up.
Players must sign up with their highest-rated account. If a player signs up with a smurf, they will be banned from this Nova Cup and the next 2 Nova Cups.
Divisions are assigned automatically, primarily based on your peak ranked rating.
A team may be moved up or down a division at the discretion of the tournament director at any time. This can occur if a player has a high win rate or previously got 1st in their division, or if it will improve the overall fairness of the tournament.
Substitution Substitute players are not allowed. If a team cannot present both players in a timely fashion, that team forfeits the next game.
Lobby Creation and Position Priority
The team with the better seed has position priority in the first game of each match. Position priority then goes to the team that lost the previous game.
The better seed team always creates the custom game lobby and selects “Tournament” as the custom game mode.
The better seed always plays on the west team.
The team with position priority chooses the sending order.
Reporting Results The team that wins the match should report the match result to the match results channel in Discord. For example, "Banana Boys beats Brute Gang 2-1."
Remakes
In general, we will not honor remake requests. Remakes cause delays that compromise the entire tournament's schedule.
You should not request a remake, unless it's an obviously critical bug, such as being unable to build fighters. To request a remake, notify staff that you are requesting a remake immediately at the time of the game-impacting bug. Staff will make a decision based on (1) the severity of the bug, (2) the state of the game, and (3) implications on the tournament's schedule. If it is determined that the bug critically impacted the team's ability to win and if remaking wouldn't disrupt the tournament's schedule, a remake may be granted.
Remakes will never be granted if either player on your team leaked >= 40% on any wave (and either player on your team isn’t on fire) before the critical bug or if either opponent is on fire.
News & Updates - Next Nova Cup is June 25-26. Signups go live this Friday (June 17) in a separate announcement.
Game Coach 2.0
We're excited to announce the first major update to the Game Coach!
Firstly, new Game Coach personalities are now available in the shop: Cheerful Game Coach and Darth Game Coach. More will come soon (TM).
Each personality changes what the Game Coach says in-game and post-game. This is only a partial sample. Each Game Coach personality has 20 dialogue lines. Darth Game Coach may or may not get tilted when your ally leaks.
Unlocking a personality automatically unlocks its corresponding secret card. This secret card can be used as an avatar and unlocks a monument slot. However, it cannot be sold/donated, and does not show up in the Card Trader rotation.
Plus, a bunch of QoL improvements:
New Game Coach options tab to toggle individual settings. It is now finally possible to completely hide the Game Coach if you don’t like him
Added sound effects for some messages (toggle via Options). Each unlockable personality has a different set of sounds.
Fixed a few cases of Game Coach tips being too aggressive
No longer says “Nice win! But there’s always room for improvement.” He’ll always just be happy when you win.
No longer warns you about unspent gold, unless you’re a new player (10 or fewer wins)
New Tutorial & Game Manual
After gathering a lot of feedback directly from players who are new to the game, we saw a lot of improvements that could be made to ease the game’s learning curve.
New Tutorial: Fighter Positioning
This short tutorial teaches new players that positioning makes a difference. This is important not only to play better, but also to appreciate the strategic depth of the game. We saw a pattern of feedback from new players who felt the game was too simple, since they felt positioning didn’t matter. This tutorial hopes to address that concern.
New Codex Tab: Game Manual
This menu acts as a knowledge reference for all the essential controls, gameplay, and systems of Legion TD 2. More pages may be added in future patches.
New Feature: "First-Time" Popups
Various popups containing Game Manual content are now displayed for new players encountering various game mechanics for the first time, such as the first time they choose a legion, ping the ground, or join a guild. These popups won’t appear for older accounts, so veteran players won't be bothered.
New Legion Spell: Glacial Touch
Glacial Touch Gives a fighter a chilling attack that slows movement speed by 80% for 3 seconds. If the target dies while chilled, it explodes, dealing 120 pure damage in a small area.
New Skin: Arctic Warg
New Skin: Molten Royal Guard
Improvements & Fixes
Major Improvements
Guilds: Officers now have permissions to edit guild tagline, set guild avatar, and set guild emblem. We’re still working on a way to transfer guild leadership for guilds with inactive guild leaders.
[/strike] Reverted. We are working on new "co-leader" role that will have the same permissions as guild leaders.
Emoji: New emojis: skull, huff, poop, clown, ninja, moon, and wave
In-Game Menu: Replaced “Profile” button with a “Codex” button. This is probably more useful for most players. You can still view your profile in-game via the tab scoreboard.
Spectator: Damage Tracker now updates based on the last unit you selected
Bots: Now smarter about not sending melee DPS mercenaries on ranged waves
Weekly Challenge: Improved formula for selecting challenges, and also avoids picking the same wave two weeks in a row
New-Player Experience: Tutorial 1 now explains camera controls as well as informs you about the Codex
New-Player Experience: Tutorial 1 now uses Divine instead of Element
New-Player Experience: Various popup, text, and graphic improvements
Custom Games: Rooms now show the color next to the slot
UI: Tweaked Crab icon
Bug Fixes
Stability: Fixed a very rare case where players would get assigned into a match they didn’t queue for
Audio: Fixed a bug where unit selection sounds would sometimes fade when they weren’t supposed to
UI: Fixed a bug where Sunnyside Eggsack icon appeared blurry
UI: Fixed a bug where the mini-scoreboard (bottom left) would block the main UI if you sent too many different types of mercenaries
Embargo: No longer accidentally disables the “3” hotkey for jumping to the opponent lane
Name Reset: Fixed a bug where Matchmaking would sometimes use the incorrect rating during the first match after a name reset
Guilds: Fixed a rare case where Guild UI wouldn’t load upon newly creating a guild
Cards: Fixed a very rare case where a card wasn’t given in-game after it was earned
Tutorial: Fixed a bug where a player would get stuck on part of the Incoming tutorial if playing in 1366x768 or lower resolution
Loading Screen: Fixed a case where a player would get stuck in the Legion Select screen if receiving a guild invite while in-game
Game Balance
Legion Spells
Counterattack - Immediate mythium gain: 40 → 45 - Mythium gain when you leak: 40 → 45
Giant Snail - Stat bonus: 200 health and 9 damage → 220 health and 10 damage
All of the above legion spells have low pick rates and win rates.
Fighters
Peewee - Health: 250 → 240
Veteran - Health: 1400 → 1380
Peewee and Veteran are arcane tanks, clutch pierce DPS, and relevant at all stages of the game. High pick rate and win rate.
Sakura - Health: 1360 → 1350 - Damage: 99 → 98 - Fixed a bug where Sakura was gaining 2 stacks of Superbloom after clearing wave 10 (should only happen after clearing wave 11+) - Fixed a bug where Sakura value calculation didn't properly work with Lioness and Alpha Male - Pinging Sakura now shows its # of stacks
High pick rate and win rate.
Gargoyle - Health: 280 → 270
Very high pick rate, notably due to its power on wave 3.
Pyro - Attack speed: 1.3 → 1.27 - Pyromancy: No longer does reduced damage to flying units
Increasing Pyro’s viability as an opening and making it less hard-countered by wave 17.
Harpy / Sky Queen - Attack speed: 1.9 → 2.0
Still underperforming, so this time they're getting a massive DPS buff. (Massive, in Legion balancing lingo, means about 5.2%)
Nekomata - Attack speed: 0.92 → 0.9
It's unbearable for us to be mean to a kitty, but Nekomata is one of the strongest units in the game from waves 1-10. High pick rate and win rate.
Canopie - Health: 4800 → 4850
Canopie has been slightly weak as an arcane tank compared to other options.
Honeyflower - Health: 1400 → 1370
Deathcap - Health: 4250 → 4160
Strong opening with high worker potential, especially with Cash Out, and strong late game. High pick rate and win rate.
Angler was indirectly nerfed by the v9.03 worker change and has a low win rate. This change allows you to sit on Angler and Bounty Hunter longer, rather than rushing to Kingpin.
Grarl - Health: 1350 → 1330
King Claw - Mana regeneration: +13%
King Claw is getting a well-deserved buff. However, Grarl’s stats are being slightly reduced to avoid over-buffing an already high pick rate / balanced unit
Yozora / Arctaire - Attack speed: 1.2 → 1.17
Viable as an opening and the best late game tank. High pick and win rate.
Seadragon / Lifebinder - Now will only heal Soul Gate & Hell Gate if there are no other injured units to heal
Nerfing synergy with Pack Leader. Pack Leader + Imp spam was crowding out other similar cost options.
Waves
(18) Wale Chiefs - Attack speed: 1.75 → 1.61 - Poison-Tipped Pole: 40 area-of-effect magic damage every third attack → 100 single-target magic damage + 40 area-of-effect magic damage every third attack
Giving Wale Chiefs more magic damage (as they had in previous patches) to make natural defense less universally strong for four consecutive waves on 16-19.
Closing Remarks
We hope you enjoy this patch! Thank you again for playing Legion TD 2. And a big thank you to everyone who has purchased skins or other in-game cosmetics so far. You make it possible for Legion TD 2 to continue to be improved & supported without a subscription fee or any P2W mechanics.
We also know a lot of people have asked about the next Campaign. It's too hard to give an exact release date, but know that we are working on it, and the hope is to release it in the Fall or early Winter.
We are also aware of a number of bugs, such as country flags sometimes being missing as well as units sometimes getting stuck (usually in Classic games). We're continuing to investigate & fix these bugs as soon as we can.
If you've enjoyed the game, but haven't left a review yet, please consider posting a short review for the game! It really helps get the word out there.
