As a 4-person indie team, we're incredibly thankful to you all. We've poured our hearts into Legion TD 2 over the last 7 years 10 months of development. For those who have been around since early access, you have been instrumental in making Legion TD 2 what it is today. It's a dream come true going from a Warcraft 3 mod to Kickstarter to early access to full launch. We hope you love the game as much as we do. See you on the ladder!
To celebrate the game's launch, we're doing an AMA on reddit. Ask us about modding, game development, future plans for the game, our favorite pizza, or anything!
The Divine have descended onto the grounds of Nova, casting a blinding golden light. Do not mistake their holiness and beauty for graciousness. They bring justice through conviction and eradication, and without mercy. These ethereal beings believe only servants of the Divine deserve ascension, and they seek to cleanse the world of the unworthy. Are you worthy?
Holy Avenger, Sovereign, and the Divine legion unlock when the game full launches on October 1st. Make sure to play this weekend to try the new units, join in on the launch hype, and enjoy +100% essence gain and card drop rates!
Aegis Holy Avenger gains 0.1 mana every time she is attacked and 2 mana every time she attacks. Each 10% mana increases her attack speed and damage reduction by 4%. At maximum mana, her attacks deal 25% splash damage in a small radius.
Final Judgment Sovereign gains 0.15 mana every time he is attacked and 3 mana every time he attacks. Each 10% mana increases his attack speed and damage reduction by 4%. At maximum mana, his attacks deal 25% splash damage in a large radius.
Gameplay Tips
Holy Avenger and Sovereign are the newest hyper-carries to the game. Among the few Impact / Swift units, they are off-tanks with both solid DPS and durability.
Optimal positioning means having them tank some of the wave (to make use of their health pool and ramp up their mana gain faster), but not too much, so they stay alive, unlock their splash effect, and dish out maximum damage.
Recommended Combos:
Butcher / Head Chef / Vampire Lifesteal synergizes with their damage reduction, attack speed, and area of effect damage.
APS / MPS / Dark Mage / Pulverizer Attack speed increases their DPS and amplifies the rate of their on-hit mana gain.
Sacred Steed / Pegasus / Starcaller / Magician Mana gain makes them stack up and unlock their splash effect faster.
Desert Pilgrim / Lost Chieftain / Titan / Guardian Angel Healing and bonus health synergize with their damage reduction and allow them to soak more damage for faster mana gain.
Whitemane / Ocean Templar / Hero Percent effects are strong on high cost units like Sovereign.
Oathbreaker is overpowered, particularly on wave 5, but balanced as an opening. This change maintains its current power as an opening, while nerfing it otherwise
GET HYPED, EVERYONE!! On October 1st, Legion TD 2 will leave early access and full launch. Going from a mod made by Lisk as a high schooler in 2009 to a fully released standalone game is honestly a dream come true.

Holy Avenger & Sovereign will become playable with Mastermind, Chaos, and Hybrid builders

Fixes & Improvements

Reconnecting: Fixed a bug where reconnecting didn’t work properly if you disconnected in the loading screen or before the game fully started

Graphics: Fixed a bug where enemies waiting at the gate would sometimes appear like they were walking while standing still
Graphics: Fixed a bug where Hell Raiser (Enraged) and Pack Rat (Treasure Hunt) didn’t play their sounds
Graphics: Fixed a bug where Iron Scales appeared too dark on lower graphics settings
Graphics: Fixed a bug where Egg Sack’s shell wasn’t semi-transparent, so you couldn’t see how many stacks it had
Graphics: Fixed a bug where visual effects for building fighters wasn’t appearing for spectators

Improvements
Some units now have new VO. Thank you to Austin for all his help.
Postgame: Game Coach “well played” message now has some variations, depending on how the game went. He may say things like “Flawless victory” or “What a comeback!”
MVP: Now earn +10% Essence if you are your team’s MVP
New Player Experience: Featured mode now shows a Caution tooltip if the player’s account is level 1-3
Some mana users should cast at max mana more responsively, and mana regen tweaks to avoid power creep

Server Operations
Community staff can now perform a wide variety of server operations, like enabling safety mode, enabling backup matchmaker, moving servers from Europe to US (if Europe is down), and many other operations. This will allow server fires to be addressed by community staff, particularly when the dev team is unavailable.
Eco Strategy (only workers) - No longer gives extra gold to the opposing team - Now gives reduced leak gold to the eco player
Eco is in a bad balance spot where the eco player is rewarded and becomes the late game carry/hero, but at the expense of the team. The team has to adapt and cater to that player's strategy, which isn't fun.
These changes shift agency and power into the eco player's teammates.
With Legion TD 2 nearing full launch, we want to honor the 10 best players from Early Access.

New Mastermind option: Yolo
Yolo +6 income and get a fully random roll (6 fully random fighters). You still have your 1 lucky Reroll.
Yolo is meant to be a risky, fun option for players that enjoy thinking on their feet and maximum variety. Full disclosure: it's probably not great for climbing the ranks. Use at your own risk.
Yolo is unlockable in the shop for essence (currency earned from playing).
Reworked: Redraw
Redraw +3 income and +2 Rerolls (on any wave)
The old Redraw let you swap out your entire roll only on wave 1. The new Redraw gives you 2 additional Rerolls on any wave.
Redraw is unlockable in the shop for essence (currency earned from playing). Anyone who owned the old Redraw option will still own the new one.
New Secret Card
Death by Natural Causes Has a chance to drop when your King dies without being sent any mercenaries that wave.
Secret Card Drop Rates - Increased drop rates of This Is Fine, No-Touchy Yozora, Fiesta, Et tu, Brute?, Sunny Side Eggsack, Dank Mage, Bee Mine Forever, Dizzy Mole, and C H O N K Y Nekomata
Rank Callouts
- Game Coach now gives a shout-out when there’s a top ranked player in your game. Ranks are based on the queue you are playing. - Top 250 players are always announced. If no top 250 players are in the game, the highest ranked player will be announced
VFX Engine Upgrade
This patch we upgraded our game engine’s visual effects renderer, which was a huge task and involved recreating every visual effect in the game from scratch. While you may not notice differences this patch, the upgrade allows for higher quality visual effects moving forward.
