Clan of the Owl

Units

• Norns now consume Food like any other units.
  
• Guardian of Realms summon cost has been increased.
  • Base cost: 500 > 600.
    
  • Cost increase for each zone of distance to the center of the map: 300 > 400.
    
  • Minimum cost is now only available on the center zone, and no longer on adjacent zones as well.

Fame

• Fame 200 - Scouting enemy territories now requires an upgraded Town Hall

Knowledge

• Fertile Soil - Resources obtained are not multiplied when there are multiple similar resources in the zone. (For example, a zone with Fish and Deers will count as 1 source of Food, and not 2)
  The Fertile land created by the branch is no longer counted as one of the natural resources in the zone.
  
• Knowledges no longer give +20 Fame each, but a different value of Fame depending on their level.
  
  • Tier 1: +5 Fame
    
  • Tier 2: +15 Fame

Wisdom Victory

• Minimum Lore amount required for Victory is now only available at the very center of the map, and no longer on adjacent zones as well.
  
• Minimum Lore amount required for victory has been increased (600 > 800).
  
• Lore amount increments for each zone of distance to the center of the map has been increased (600 > 800).
  
• When the territory of a player is under attack (except Monument zone which stops progress entirely) the amount of Lore collected by their Monument is reduced by -50%.
  
• Notification to all clans is now sent when the Monument construction begins, and not when it ends.
  
• Monument construction time has been increased (1 month > 2 months).
  
• For Kingdoms, only 1 subject can be assigned to the construction of the Monument.

Vördr is now ready to wrap Northgard around their claws. Their Norns are now launched around the land to gather enough wisdom to satisfy Yggdrasil.

It’s time for the southern kingdoms to face new threats, as Kernev and Neustria gain 3 new specific conquests each!

Those conquests are also available for other clans.




As stated previously, the main grip with the wisdom victory is how passive it was. For that reason, we added WONDERS

Being the wiser is great, spilling it to the face of the world is better. You will now be able to claim the victory blessing earlier, but once it’s done, you’ll have to buiild a Wonder, a massive monument to assert your devotion to your gods.


You will have to protect your edifice while it gathers all the wisdom your clan is producing. When it's full, you win!


The closer to the center of the map your wonder is, the quicker you assert your dominance over Northgard.


While we talk about buildings made of wood, some new clans might prefer to pledge their allegiance to nature. If you are facing an Owl, watch out for their wonder, it seems quite aggressive.


Great Ymir! Vördr used the world tree to send an attack of titan™!


After so much time with the lobby selection, now is the age of the lobby finder!
This system helps us ensure fairness in ranked games by assuring teaming is not possible for gamemode not requiring it.

Only the 3 main modes of Northgard are taken into account: 3V3, 1v1, FFA
You can still access all other modes with the custom lobby.




Winter event with its unique decorations and visuals is activated on the game with this update.

We want to thank all the people that joined our beta, we received a lot of feedback, some of them going further than what is now available in-game. Those requested additions have been noted and will be studied as possible additions for future update.
For a better vision on the matter, we are talking about multiqueue, adding modes, more info on the player count, etc…

In terms of bug report and feedback, the beta went well in our opinion. There are still changing points but the format in itself might be something that will be done again!

To celebrate that, permit us to present a "chronicle" detailing the diverse major updates made by the team and what made Northgard always stand out.

2019 - Relics and Conquest


The addition of a game-changer in the form of the relic, gives more flavor to each clan. This was followed by the conquest, adding almost 100 hours of content to play offline or with a friend!

2020 - Map editor


With this addition, we let YOU make your own Northgard challenges. And some great maps came from it. If you ever have time, check out the Workshop to find some amazing creations.

2021 - Expeditions and Kröwn & Daggers


New neutral clans and an in-game reward system to show everyone who the real Viking is. Since that day, the infamous Myrkalfars have haunted each map, just like the great forger and miners known as dwarves.

2022 - Sword & Solace


An enhancement of the UI and the multiplayer experience shows a first step toward more accessibility to that mode. It was the start of a great experience for every newcomer at that time.

2023 - Trials of Odin


New spectator mode, enhancement of the map and the heroes. Modernization of the game

And between all of this, new free updates are now added to DLC updates to ensure the best development for the community! The Lobby Finder coming alongside the clan of the Owl in December is an example of that...

Subsisting through the ages, the secretive norns of Vördr keep watch over all realms in Northgard and beyond. Protectors of Yggdrasil, the sisters Skuld, Verdandi, and Urdr, use the power of this sacred tree to spread their knowledge inexorably across the land.

Numerous free additions are planned with this update; here are more details:




The lobby finder is currently being tested by a new group of beta testers that will be able to share their feedback on it and ensure the best condition of release for it!

The lobby finder will help us ensure fairness in ranked game by solving issues like unfair teaming and others!
For casual game, it will allow an easier and faster finding of games for casual play. If you are looking for a specific game, fear not! The classic lobby list will stay available for all unranked games!




From the feedback we received, some things could be addressed to make a lore victory more interesting to choose! For that reason, we hope to tackle the current passiveness of the victory as well as its lack of risk.

Expect a rework that will change your habits, especially concerning the default needs to activate the victory; this might be linked to some unique building to make.





Every beta tester is now on a special server made to ensure the best conditions for receiving their feedback!
If you received an email saying you were in the beta but didn't follow through, it is too late for this one!
To everyone who participated, all of the mail and contacts we got will be deleted once the beta is over to guarantee total privacy. If another event like this one happens, you might be asked to fill out a new form.
