The Halloween Event has now ended. All Event Tokens/Shards have been automatically converted to normal ones and any Halloween challenges in your Labyrinth have been converted to a Token Shard. Halloween Item Upgrades are still usable and collectable in your current Labyrinth, but will no longer appear in future Labyrinths.
Patch Notes
[New Item Upgrade] 'Compact' Trap: Increases the damage of the trap but reduces its trigger radius.
[New Item Upgrade] 'Solar Powered' Torch: The torch regenerates battery when equipped in the light.
[New Item Upgrade] 'Red Handed' Tracker: The tracker can be placed on Blood Bags and will automatically track anyone who drinks the bag.
[New Item Upgrade] 'Nano Tech' Armour: Armour will regenerate if not fully destroyed.
[New Item Upgrade] 'Sawnoff' Shotgun: Increases the damage of the shotgun but also the spread.
Reduced the loading time for the Main Menu, especially for players using slower hardware (like a HDD).
Traps now display their trigger radius around them during the day.
Added a new setting value of "Based On Party Size" for the custom game option 'Infected Player Count'. This means it'll automatically only pick 1 Infected if there are only 4 or 5 players, but will still pick 2 if there are 6.
Our in-game translations have been updated thanks to our Community Translators!
[FIXED] Players opening the game for the first time will potentially have the wrong language automatically selected for them.
[FIXED] The Steam Achievements 'Mine' and 'Work Hard, Play Hard' aren't obtainable.
This Halloween weekend, through to midday Monday GMT, you'll earn an extra 50% Tickets when playing.
You can now preview your microphone and voice settings in the settings menu, by selecting the "Test Voice" option.
Added support for plugging in microphones and output devices whilst the game is open.
Reward Crates have had their interactions simplified, making disabling them no longer a separate interaction on the tamper box but instead a secondary interaction (defaulted to 'X') on the crate itself. You can still shoot the tamper box on the side of the crate to disable it if you prefer.
The item displayed above Reward Crates now spins once the crate is in-progress.

[FIXED] Challenges that require you to use the Inspection Kit, Tracker, Lethal Injection or Antidote as a specific character don't work.
[FIXED] Changes to your Windows default microphone & voice output devices aren't detected without a game restart.
[FIXED] Game settings aren't reset in the UI if you make changes & then close the settings window without applying them.
[FIXED] The countdown timer for the Double Objective activating shows '0' for the final 5 seconds.
The 'Ghostly' Armour Item Upgrade will now also apply the Ghost effect to you, instead of only being visible to others.
The 'Explosive' Lethal Injection Item Upgrade now has a fuse delay, leaving the dynamite in your victim's neck for a few seconds before it explodes.
Interrogate now tells the first voter (the player who downed them) what team the eliminated player was on, rather than telling the last voter.
If your Infected partner gets downed they will remain outlined as red to you, instead of turning yellow.
Players that have just been voted out (mid-electrocution) will no longer influence how many votes are required to eliminate a player downed during this time.

EDIT: đ˘ Good news! We're extending the Halloween event by a few days to give you a few more days to get your hands on those seasonal cosmetics before they're gone.
âśď¸ The Halloween Event will be removed from the game on Thursday November 11th. âśď¸ As part of that update, we'll be bringing a variety of new non-event based item upgrades, including 'Nano Tech Armour', an upgrade that allows your armour to regenerate if not fully depleted. âśď¸ The ranked season will still reset on Monday November 8th.
Itâs that spooky time of year again! And weâve got one hell of a frightening event in store for you, running all the way up until November 8th. Collect brand new item upgrades from the Labyrinth, pick up candy in game to earn some in-game rewards, or complete the spooky-themed challenge set. On top of all that, weâve added a large set of limited-time seasonal cosmetics to sink your fangs into.
Item Upgrades
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYw6WbfmOEw&feature=youtu.be This Halloween weâre introducing a new system to Deceit: Item Upgrades. Earned through the Labyrinth from level 8, item upgrades allows you to modify the functionality and appearance of items obtained during matches. Weâre introducing this system with some Halloween-exclusive upgrades, and will be releasing some standard upgrades at the end of the event. The Halloween upgrades are:
Pumpkin Head (Tracker) - Tracking a player will place a pumpkin on their head - and slightly obscure their vision Sugar Rush (Antidote) - Antidoting a player will give them a short speed boost Ghostly (Armour) - Gives the armoured player a ghostly effect when equipped Explosive (Lethal Injection) - The Lethal Injection is replaced with dynamite - which explodes the player when used Jack-in-the-box (Trap) - When walking past traps youâll be met with a jump-scare screaming head
Mega Bundle
The Halloween Mega Bundle has been added to the in-game shop. It is available for $9.99 / ÂŁ7.99 and contains the following content:
Event-exclusive Beelzebub Experiment terror skin
10x Halloween Tokens
1x of each Halloween Item Upgrade
Seasonal Skins
This year weâre bringing one of the largest sets of seasonal cosmetics weâve ever brought to Deceit! Including a unique legendary outfit for every character! So, letâs get into it, the rewards for this years event are as follows:
Similarly to previous years, the Game Master has left a trail of candy for you to collect whilst playing. Reach certain candy-collecting milestones to earn yourself a bunch of rewards, including tickets, booth tokens, and Halloween themed cosmetics! The Game Master has also left a special reward for those of you who make it all the way to the final milestone.
Halloween Challenge Set
As part of the horrific festivities, thereâs a new Halloween set of 25 challenges to complete. Earn tickets to help progress your Labyrinth, and reach the end for a secret unlock!
Patch Notes
Thank you to the community translators who continue to contribute to making Deceit accessible to more players around the world.
Challenges now unlock at level 4, reduced from level 5.
The second and third perk slots now unlock 1 level sooner, at levels 6 and 17 respectively,
[FIXED] Player faces at night have visual defects on them.
Theyâre back! This year weâve released a fair few different ways to turn the power back on and progress to the next area during the night period. Through taking on feedback from the community and many play sessions, weâve developed an updated fuse system that brings together the strengths of the different versions weâve tried.
When the lights go out, youâll see a power bar at the top of your screen that, once filled, will open the doors and allow you to progress to the next area. If youâre innocent (or pretending to act as one!), find a fuse dispenser that will be highlighted to you on the walls to collect a fuse. Once you have a fuse, fuse boxes will be highlighted where you can attach the fuse, and gain power. Be careful though, holding a fuse will periodically reveal you to Terrors causing them to hunt you down. If a Terror manages to swipe you down whilst youâre holding a fuse itâll be destroyed and youâll have to find another when you respawn.
HRTF (aka âBinaural Audioâ)
Our audio system has had a bit of a revamp with this update, introducing HRTF Audio Spatialisation. This will enable players to better locate where sounds are coming from by more realistically modelling how your ears perceive directionality, so no more sneaky Terrors popping up behind you without you noticing! With this change weâve adjusted a lot of the in-game sounds, including adding occlusion to sounds that should be muffled by walls. If youâre using surround on your headphones, we recommend switching to stereo to have the best experience.
Terror Visual Update
The Game Masterâs serum has been tweaked slightly, causing those infected with the virus to appear quite differently when in their Terror form. Once affected by damage, Terrors will now glow brighter and brighter (linked to their remaining health), up until their expulsion where they will dramatically disintegrate into nothing. Alongside this, Terrors that are Enraged will now have a notable aura around them to indicate that they are ready-to-kill.
Ranked Season
Octoberâs ranked season has begun! Congratulations to everyone who placed highly in Septemberâs ranked season - and gained the elusive crowns and ranked booth tokens. Octoberâs ranked season will run up until Monday November 8th. Please note, as of the Labyrinth update - perks are no longer tied to seasons, and you will keep all earned perks, unless you prestige.
Halloween
Our favourite time of the year is almost here! This yearâs Halloween event is scheduled to be released on October 14th and will run up until Monday November 8th. In addition to some awesome seasonal cosmetics, weâre also releasing the first iteration of our item upgrade system. Collect consumable upgrades on the Labyrinth that you can equip in-game to give your item unique flair - this could be anything from a jack-in-a-box trap, to an armour upgrade that makes you appear ghostly. Be sure to check our socials for more details and previews over the next week.
Patch Notes
Shooting Fuse Boxes in the day now requires you to hit the Tamper Box, rather than the whole Fuse Box.
Reward Crates can now be tampered with whilst their linked task is still being completed.
With the removal of Generators, the Werewolfâs Howl now causes players to lose their fuses instead of cancelling their current interaction.
Viewing terrors on the main menu will now turn the menu dark - more accurately depicting what they look like in game.
The Yetiâs âFrozen Furyâ ability now shields for an extra 50 health, bringing it up to 200 upon initial use.
The outlines used for highlighting objects you can interact with have been adjusted and, for a lot of them, no longer show through walls.
The bleeding out duration (after being executed or lethal'd) is now 20s, down from 30s.
The Tutorial has had several improvements & fixes as well as being updated to include the Fuses.
Our in-game translations have been updated thanks to our Community Translators.
[FIXED] The hitbox on Tamper Boxes is much larger than the actual model size.
One Fuse Box has been removed from each area, bringing it down to 4/3/2.
Fuse & Tamper Boxes will now make a much louder noise, that can be heard from a significant distance away, if they were hit to be destroyed. If you wish to do this stealthily, interacting with these objects is much quieter.
The Fuse Boxes in the final area now reduce 30s of time, in line with the other areas. The total amount of time that can be reduced in this area is the same as before this patch.
The amount of blood required to get the later executions has been slightly increased. It still only take 3 blood to get your first execution.
You can now hover over the score multiplier at the end of the game to see where you got your bonuses from.
Queueing Ranked will once again show how many others are currently in queue.
You will no longer get a dodge penalty if you leave whilst being electrocuted (voted out).
Our in-game translations have been updated thanks to our Communtiy Translators!
[FIXED] Players are able to get double the intended time reduction from each Fuse Box.
[FIXED] Several challenges are unable to be completed (including "Day Period #5", "Night Period #4" & "Objectives #3").
[FIXED] Challenges that require you to do certain actions within one area don't always work (for example "Alex #3").
This week, the game master is introducing a new toy - the Labyrinth. Level up and unlock rewards through tickets that you earn as you play. Alongside this, the game menu has been updated, and weâve rolled out a number of improvements to the in-game experience as well.
The Labyrinth
The Labyrinth is Deceitâs new progression system where you can earn cool new unlocks and rewards. By playing games either solo or as a party, youâll receive tickets that you can spend in the Labyrinth to unlock rewards. Collect all of the special rewards and unlock the exit in order to complete the Labyrinth and progress. Each Labyrinth you complete youâll level up, increasing the complexity of the puzzles until you reach level 100, where youâll be given the option to prestige, more on this below.
Labyrinth Rewards
The Labyrinth combines a few of our old systems (perks, challenges, levelling) that you can now obtain as rewards on the Labyrinth. From launch there will be a whole array of loot for you to get your hands on, including:
Booth Token Shards - combine 10 shards to form a Booth Token Story Challenges - learn more about the world and earn extra tickets Perks - customise your loadout with buffs that fit your playstyle Tickets - for you to progress further into the Labyrinth
The Labyrinth - Collect the special rewards and escape at the exit
Loadout - select the perks youâd like to use in game
Challenges - earn rewards through completing tasks in daily, base, and story challenge sets
In the coming months, a number of new rewards will be introduced to the Labyrinth, check out our dev blog for more information.
Challenges
Challenges have found a new home inside of the Labyrinth - which you can access by clicking the file next to the Labyrinth puzzle. Challenges are given as part of challenge sets - which must be completed in sequence. Challenges now unlock at level 5, and are split into three categories:
Daily - each day youâre given a set containing an easy, medium, hard, and very hard challenge - unlocked at level 5
Base - sets related to maps, objectives, and day/night periods - unlocked at level 5
Story - sets relating to each character and terror - unlocked through the Labyrinth
Perks
Similarly to Challenges, Perks can now be found in the Labyrinth - accessible by clicking the clipboard next to the puzzle. Perks are no longer tied to seasons - and are instead unlocked permanently, until you decide to prestige. Weâve greatly reduced the number of perks you can equip - but have made the perks themselves more impactful. On the loadout screen you can equip 4 perks - 3 normal, and 1 ultimate - all of which can be unlocked as rewards through the Labyrinth. Some of our personal favourites include:
Untracked - Normal - Downing the player who tracked you instantly destroys the tracker
Field Medic - Normal - Gain a movement speed buff if you're able to antidote someone
Stake Out - Ultimate - The Infected's Terror Sense won't reveal you if you're crouched & not moving
Booth Tokens & Token Shards
As of today's update the number of Tokens required to use the Booth has been reduced from 3 to 1, with each game still providing you with 3 rewards. As part of this change we've converted everyone's existing Token values, by dividing by 3 & rounding up where necessary, into Tokens & Shards. The amount of Tokens & Shards you own when you log in will grant you the same number of rewards as it did before the update. Along with this, we've also modified the number of tokens you get per purchased token pack, as well as rebalanced the regional pricing based on these new figures.
A Token Shard is one tenth of a Booth Token that you can earn as a reward from the Labyrinth. Once youâve earned 10, click on them in the bottom left corner of the Labyrinth to combine them into a Booth token that you can use straight away.
Gameplay
Throughout the year weâve been adding more and more analytics into the game, helping us understand the different game states the players can get into. As such weâve noticed that when games are played out in certain ways, more frequently in Ranked, that the Infected can struggle to keep up with the Innocents. The below changes have been made with the intent of giving the Infected more control over their fate in those game states, whilst not heavily impacting their win rate in games with newer players in it.
The amount of blood required to reach an execution has been reduced by 1 at each level. This means you only need to drink 3 Blood Bags to get your first execution.
You can now shoot both Tamper Boxes on Objectives & Fuse Boxes in order to destroy them. Doing so will cause it to make a louder destruction sound.
The number of Objectives available in each area has been reduced from 18 / 12 / 6 to 15 / 10 / 5.
The cap on the number of Objectives you can take in each area has been changed from 3 / 2 / 1 to 3 / 3 / 3.
Terrors can now execute their infected teammate - however, if they arenât antidoted, they will be revived at the end of the timer. This does use up the Infected's execution
The Objective holding the Inspection Kit is locked for the first 60s of the second area, providing the Infected more opportunity to potentially destroy it.
The logic for how many Generators get automatically completed at night has been adjusted to make it easier for Innocents to get to the next area once the Infected have executed a few players.
Terror executions can now be cancelled if you manage to do enough damage to expel them during the start of the kill. This doesnât remove the Terrorâs ability to execute again, just stops that one from happening.
Prestige & XP Conversion
All progress youâve made through levelling in Deceit so far will be directly translated into the Labyrinth - youâll begin on a Labyrinth puzzle that equates to your current level - and those of you whoâve prestiged will notice that the Labyrinthâs visuals change as you progress through the Labyrinth.
Once you complete the 99th Labyrinth, youâll be presented with a level 100 Labyrinth. At this point, you can optionally choose to stay at level 100, and continuously get level 100 Labyrinths, or you can opt to prestige. At this point, your Labyrinth will visually change to represent your new prestige, and a bunch of your account progress will reset - youâll return to level 1, and all challenges and perks will be reset.
In addition to this weâve removed the cap off of the maximum prestige you can obtain. Those few people whoâve reached this monumental achievement will have all experience earned past the old cap (9th prestige, level 99) recognised in their new prestige and level. You can view your prestige on the Labyrinth, and weâll be adding icons for prestiges past 9 in an update in the near future.
Labyrinth visuals at Prestige 10
Studio Rebrand & Coming Soon
You may notice weâve rebranded our studio -- weâre now World Makers -- and weâll be talking more about this at Halloween! Weâve got a lot of improvements coming for Halloween, including new combat animations, audio improvements and a new fuse system.
A post-game scoreboard has been added showing you what challenges you progressed, how many tickets you earned and, if applicable, how your Ranked status was affected
Transform animations have been added to the Human side of the transform. Along with this, the duration of the transform has been adjusted so that the majority of it happens while youâre still Human. Once youâre in Terror form youâre almost instantly able to attack & use your abilities
Ranked games now give a ticket multiplier boost of 25%, up from 10%
Ticket boosts, both purchased & weekend boosts, now only apply to Tickets earned from playing games
The tutorial has had slight adjustments to work with the new gameplay changes, including giving out a Token the first time you finish it. Those who already had the Tutorial challenge, but hadnât completed it, have been given this token automatically
The visuals of the Trap explosions have been improved
The Daily XP hiscore has been replaced with a Daily Ticket hiscore
Various UI changes have been made to the Main Menu
Various optimisations have been made - in particular, on the Asylum & Forest
In-Game chat messages now make a slight sound when theyâre received
Our in-game translations have been updated, thanks to our Community Translators
The Summer Event has now ended, we hope you had fun finding your treasure!
The Ranked season has been updated. However, as the Labyrinth is close to being released, the Perk Tree has been kept the same and your points haven't been reset. We'll publish another post with more information about the Labyrinth and its release soon.
Summer is here, and it is starting to heat up! When you next open the game youâll be taken to the summer event section of the menu. This is where you can preview all of the new summer skins that have been added, as well as start your treasure trail, by selecting a character on the right hand side.
The event will run until September 6th, so make sure you loot all of the cosmetics you want before itâs too late!
Summer Rewards
So letâs talk about the booty on offer for navigating through the treasure trail. In this event thereâs a blisteringly hot 34 new rewards to get your hands on, just be careful that you donât burn yourself. Some of the rewards can be earned through the treasure trail story, and all of the rewards can be earned directly through the Loot Booth when using Summer Tokens (now available in the in-game store). Grab as many rewards while you can, and if you're lucky enough to get everything there's even a special emblem waiting for you. There are three free Summer tokens waiting for you in game to help you get started.
