The art of carnage has entered the next phase. But what does this mean for you?

A new closed beta with Gameforge as publisher is about to kick off, and anyone who previously installed and played Guardians of Ember with the former publisher is automatically included.
If you’re one of these fortunate players, you automatically have access to the next update and can rampage away to your heart’s content. Play the game and test out the changes. We look forward to hearing your feedback so we can make the game even better. At launch, the game will be available in English, German and Spanish.

If you aren’t among the lucky few, you can still keep up to date with the latest in our forum or by following us on Facebook . As soon as Olyndale opens its gates to the wider public, we’ll let you know so you can get straight into your adventure!

The beta phase gives us time to prepare the relaunch of the new improved game version, which will also be available in more languages. We’re currently working on translating the game into French, Italian, Polish and Turkish.
It hopefully goes without saying that the high-adrenaline carnage of Guardians of Ember will remain free-to-play afterwards!

Information regarding change of publisher for Guardians of Ember

Dear Guardians of Ember user,

If you have an account for Guardians of Ember (‘account’) and you did not object to the transfer of your game information from MMOREWARDS Ltd. (‘MMOREWARDS’) to Gameforge 4D GmbH, Albert-Nestler-Strasse 8, 76131 Karlsruhe, Germany (‘Gameforge’) as communicated on 29/8/2018, we have received personal data as defined in Article 4(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’). In the following we would like to inform you about how your data is collected and processed in accordance with GDPR Article 14.

Data Protection Information:

Gameforge is the data controller as per GDPR Article 4(7). Our contact details and information regarding our data protection officer can be found in our Privacy Policy
The purpose for collecting your data and subsequently processing it lies solely in allowing the continued use of the account. To this end, we offer you the ability to log into the Gameforge servers with your Steam account from 12/9/2018. In so doing, you enter into a user agreement with Gameforge in accordance with our Standard Terms and Conditions of Use
Your data is thus stored for the purposes of initiating a user agreement between us, and serves our legitimate interest in offering this option to you. The legal basis for this is provided by GDPR Article 6(1)(f). Once you have entered into a user agreement with us (and only then), the main purpose of processing your data lies in fulfilling the contractual agreement, and is based upon the provisions detailed in our Privacy Policy.
We have received the following categories of personal data through receipt of the game information from MMOREWARDS:
- basic information (e.g. user ID and Steam ID);
- game data (e.g. characters belonging to the account, including nickname, level, gear, quest and trade logs);
- payment history (e.g. amount of premium currency purchased and the time and order ID of each purchase).
- Your data will be stored on our systems based in Germany. Our servers are situated in an adequately secured data centre and we have an agreement with the operator of this data centre regarding the processing of personal data as per GDPR Article 28(3).
- Within Gameforge itself, only employees who have been entrusted with processing the data for the purposes detailed above have access to it (specifically the responsible system administrators). No other third parties receive the data. In particular the data received for the purposes laid out in this document is not sent to any recipients in third countries.
- If you should decide not to conclude a user agreement with us at this time, your data will be stored for a period of two years from the date of this information notice, providing you with the option to continue using your account at a later date. The data will be deleted automatically after this period.
- You can prevent this data being stored either by sending us your objection or requesting the deletion of your data. In this case, however, you will no longer be able to use your account.
- In addition to your right to object and your right to erasure, you also have the right to be informed about the data stored, as well as the right to rectification of said data. This includes the right to restriction of processing and, where possible, the right to data portability. Finally, you have the right to appeal to a supervisory authority regarding the processing of your personal data. Further details regarding your rights can be found in the attached Privacy Policy.
