UPDATE 3: The patch was applied and the servers are re-opened. The Resonance Dungeon should work fine now.

Please note: After defeating Ludovic you must flick the switch on the control panel to open the gate that leads to the second part of the Resonance Halls.


UPDATE 2: The dev team has fixed the second issue in the Resonance Hall Dungeon and we are applying a patch. For that reason the servers will be shut down at 11:30 CET on April 2nd. We will keep you posted!


UPDATE 1: We fixed the issue and the servers are back online (1.4.). However, another issue in the same Dungeon came up that you'll need to bypass as follows:

When you get to the last boss in the dungeon, you will not be able to enter the room, in order to trigger the event for the boss, you need to attack him with a ranged attack that will reach him. We were able to test this successfully with the Priest ability “Prayer Cascade” by attacking the object in yellow which hit the boss and allowed us into the room, other abilities may work as well.

We are pleased to announce the release of a brand-new race of playable characters: the Man-Rat. The patch that will include this new race will be client version 1077 and is expected to be rolled out sometime next week.

Backstory: This race of beings -- half-man, half-rat -- were born of corruption. After Necromantic researchers from the Olyndale Alchemical Institute first developed a potion that changed the very fabric of existence, an accident occurred in the laboratory and the rats the Necromantic researchers were using became fused with the researchers themselves.

Benefits: When playing this new race, a new passive trait is gained that, when coupled with the Dark Knight, allows the player to pass unimpeded through the Darkness for up to 15 seconds, depending on the player’s current level of corruption. Levels of corruption increase as the souls of the corrupted are consumed, but consuming souls puts your character at risk of attack given the time needed to consume the soul.

UPDATE: Maintenance is over and the servers are live

Our servers will be brought down starting at 9AM, CET on Wednesday, March 29th, 2017. The purpose of this downtime will be twofold: we will be releasing the Dark Knight in all its corrupted glory and will be patching the client to version 1074 - for our German fans that includes the first drop of the German localization in the form of UI and Skill descriptions.

This patch fixes many issues and even implements player-suggested features. The list below may change as we are still thoroughly QA’ing all of the fixes and additions. That said, preliminary testing has been great. We will announce any changes before ‘go-time’.

Due to the length of our patch - and the content we are releasing, we cannot give a time-frame for the downtime. Please know that we will strive to bring the servers back up as soon as humanly (and inhumanly) possible and we will announce the up-time as soon as it happens! As Randy Pausch once said, ”We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the game”.

With that, we welcome you all to GoE 1074:
  • Adding the Dark Knight: a new class focused around corrupted abilities
  • Adding a sixth character slot (please scroll down using ARROW keys!)
  • Adding German UI and Skill descriptions - more to follow in coming weeks
  • Fixed an issue where the Compendium card, Death Defiler, was not dropping, yet the Death Defiler was dropping the wrong card
  • Fixed an issue where the crafting area was showing symbols instead of proper text
  • Fixed an issue where the Engineering Research Station minimap text did not fit
  • Fixed the floating, empty, brazier found in the Tunneler’s Crypt
  • Fixed truncated “contribution” text within the guild interface
  • Fixed an issue where the minimap would show incorrect character location
  • Fixed an issue where the Frozen Reach Plunderer achievement was completed, but not claimable
  • Fixed an issue with the following Mire of Scars cards that would either not drop or the mob could not be located:
    • Noxus
    • David Osmond
    • Swamp Giant Chief (Should drop from the Bodyguard Captain) - revised
    • Commune Member - removed & updated
    • Ghostly Skull - removed & updated
  • Fixed an issue with the following Disputed Plains cards that would either not drop or the mob could not be located:
    • Koro the Touched - removed
    • Cunning Haru - removed
    • Burning Gakira - removed
    • Tunneled Hunter Lizard - removed
    • Lu Daka - now drops the card as intended
  • Fixed an issue where an invisible wall was being randomly generated in dungeons, preventing completion
  • Fixed an issue where mounting certain mounts turned player’s character into Mini-Me
  • Fixed an issue where the contents of the ending chest rewards for normal dungeons was predictable (i.e. choose left chest for purple)
  • Fixed an issue where the game would crash to the desktop when clicking the ‘bug report’ button in the ‘esc’ menu
  • Changed order and frequency of skill unlocks with the Dark Knight
  • Adjusted Dark Knight Skills based on QA feedback
  • Fixed QA issues with the upcoming Horde Mode PvE Arena
  • Suggestion Accepted: Dungeon resets have been reduced to 15 minutes from the original 30
  • Suggestion Accepted: Housing Inventory Expansions are now tradable between other characters on account
  • Updated Loot Orb contents

We are planning to release the sixth character class on 27th of March, the egotistical, ill-mannered Dark Knight whose skills and attributes are born of the shadows. The Dark Knight's skills harness the power of the occult to strike untold fear and agony in the enemy.
The Samurai Strike, for example, releases a vicious soul that possesses its target before eating them from the inside while the sadistic nature of the Anti-Immune Impactor instantly destroys the enemy’s immune system meting out a harrowing, excruciating death. The main core attributes for this class are Dark and Toxic, making him the most rude and selfish (he has almost no team buffs so is great for playing Solo). Dark Knight uses violence to solve problems so skill types are “contain”, “crawl” and increase “aggro” while leeching the life from all in his way.
Even though it has been announced in the past, this is brand new, never-released class. What does this mean? The Dark Knight has been balanced internally, but has not yet been tested with a large number of players. We really need your feedback to ensure the Dark Knight is properly balanced and fun to play but of course this class might also introduce new bugs that need to be taken care of.

As a reminder: Our servers will be brought down today 16.03.2017 starting at 9am CET (8am UTC). The maintenance will bring the following changes:

- Changed the manner in which players receive the Compendium Card “Alberic’s Key.” It will now be less confusing.
- Fixed a bug preventing players from receiving rare - Compendium cards from within Soulless Swamp and Tormented Marsh
- Fixed a bug that caused visual issues with dual-wielding Dwarves & Neia races.
- Fixed wrong dual weapon slots
- Fixed crashing to desktop while loading screen

These were fixed in previous patches but not posted:
- Fixed an issue where quest items were destroyable, causing player to be unable to complete quest.
- Fixed bug showing nametags above NPCs in some areas

Dear Immortals,

It has been almost three months since we launched GoE into Early Access and it is time to look back - and give a preview of things to come. We will do this regularly from now on but please note that some of the contents and dates are subject to change.

Where we are
As most of you remember, our launch was met with plenty of server issues and lag, especially for our players in North America.. Setting up a US-based server forced us to reallocate time and resources for the first four weeks to focus on the North American server. Hotfixes were pushed relentlessly, and we were finally able to get it done.

Couple that with Christmas and then Chinese New Year (as our development team is based in Taiwan) and we weren’t able to fix bugs as quickly as we wanted or planned. GoE still has quite a few major bugs. We are aware of this and we are making this Prio 1 to fix with the goal of bi-weekly patches. However, several bugs are hard to reproduce and the causes aren’t easy to find. Short-term plans
As stated before, it is our goal to have - along with bug fixes - at least one major update every month, whether that is a new feature or new content. While some of this content has already been released in the Taiwanese version (which is now localized and adapted), other stuff is brand new. Subject to bug fixes, we have the following schedule:

- March: Dark Knight

- April: Horde Mode
Care for some short snacks between acts? Want to play coop with your friends and test that new character build to the limit? With this additional game mode, we will offer you wave-based defense gameplay for groups of five players.

- May: Act V
The desolate landscape of Labato Fjord is the site of your next challenge as a Guardian. Arques used to be a commander in the Empire fleet until he turned and began a campaign to resurrect hordes of fallen pirates and legions of Imperial troops. He needs to be stopped before he can join forces with the ex-Elf King, Urdigard and the wolf-like Cu’sith in another bid to bring darkness to Olyndale.

Act V represents the final act before we move out of Early Access and is currently being translated and polished for Western release.

- Summer: German version
While we are releasing the localized UI in the near future, (the multi-language launcher is in its final testing phase ) we hope to have the first real, fully playable German build this summer.

Once we have the above items in the game - and (mostly) debugged - we will be ready to leave Early Access as we will consider the game “complete”, which is consistent with what we previously announced. However, that does not mean the end of updates and expansions! And of course, all of the updates and expansions below will be free to everyone who purchased GoE!

Mid-Term plans (2017)
- Act VI: Fall
While Act V is being brushed up for release, the development team is busy creating never-before-seen content for our next Act (and we are already planning for Act VII).

- Guild Skill System: Fall

- Additional PvP Modes / Maps: Winter
With new game designers having joined the team recently, we hope to enhanc looking at enhancing PvP by adding new modes and / maps.

- Gore Version: TBD
We know many of you would like to see more blood and gore while hacking’n’slashing! We are planning to add this back into the game, however the key issue right now is youth protection in several countries, as getting an 18+ rating will limit sales and exposure.

- Hardcore Mode: TBD
We are planning a mode to replay Dungeons with higher difficulty - of course offering higher rewards!

- Controller Support: TBD
We are preparing a full support of game controllers for later this year.

Once again, please note that the mid-term plans above are subject to change and the dates are intentionally vague as our highest priority is fixing bugs. Once we are closer to full release we will provide more details and ETAs.
