Another hot fix, this time we took some time to re work how the vehicles handle in Montgomery County. Please test and give us some feedback. We are also aware of an issue where you cannot start a multiplayer game if you select a region before hand so to bypass this issue until we patch it, just don't select a region before making a server.

Good morning! Happy New Years everyone! I hope you are all excited for what 2020 has to bring! I know I am. We have finally re implemented multiplayer in this new hot fix which just went live. We are unsure of how buggy it will be since we barely got to test due to lack of active players who were willing to help with closed testing. So we have decided to hope for the best and hope that the community will report the Multiplayer issues they find on each map so we can begin to fix those issues. We also fixed several annoying bugs, change log below!

Hope everyone had an enjoyable holidays. I myself just returned from some quality family time last night and got straight back to work. We finally were able to fix the critical spawning issue and now are shifting our focus to fixing all hose and hydrant glitches. Then we will move onto improving handling and roads on the Montgomery County map.

This is v0.1 of our Montgomery County map meaning there are only about ~40 emergencies and just as many bugs. We want to welcome our players in to the testing and polishing phase of Montgomery County. We know you guys have waited impatiently for months and months for a release and we kept saying “give us just a little longer” Well, the end of the year creeped up on us and we feel like we haven’t delivered what our community expects from us. We feel comfortable that we have squashed so many of the game breaking bugs and feel that gameplay is virtually stable. I have decided to abandon the hope of delivering a perfect product polished and all to you guys and want to welcome everyone into the testing phase to find the problematic bugs and get feedback on ways things should work. This game has been built on community feedback and bug reports and we are excited to move into the next stage of development.
As after every big update, we will be patching the game daily and making fixes and changes based upon all of your feedback and reports.
Multiplayer is disabled in this build while we want our players to solely test the single player gameplay to help us find bugs and provide important feedback to continue to improve the game with each hotfix. We are also working on several Multiplayer issues that render it unplayable at this time.
This update has been in the works since earlier this year and I have faced tons of criticism and accusations that I figured now would be a good time for me to address.
“These developers are so stupid adding new things when they need to fix the broken game”
While deciding to go through with the idea for Montgomery County may not have been the right timing, I still feel as though this update will hopefully be a breath of fresh air to our players who have been waiting for new content. People were claiming that we were solely adding things and have abandoned the original Manhattan map which is as far from the truth as possible. Manhattan has new emergencies, countless bug fixes (As you can see by the 8 page change log below) as well as the Fire Academy. The game all around has seen tons of fixes and improvements, but is still far from perfect.
“This game is a scam”
Believe it or not, it’s not a scam. I am not here to take your money, hence the huge free update! I am a sole individual running and creating this game with little to no outside help lately. It is difficult to work the hours I do and try to please every one of you with an explanation or a response. I do this not for the money, but because I love this game and what I have built from the ground up with many of you who have been here since the very beginning. It is easy to say hateful and ignorant things when you don’t know what has to go into something of this scale.

Many have began spreading these rumours, which I take blame for not having been communicating better these last few months while trying to get the game to a place where it is stable enough to replace 0.7.7J. So many new issues arose, game breaking bugs that took weeks to fix, it was nightmarish where i’m sure any other single game developer would have pronounced the project. But that is not an option for me. This is my livelihood and the only way this project will die is if I die or get locked up. Progress maybe slower than what everyone wants, but it is moving a long as is already leaps ahead of most of the competition.

Hey everyone, just an update on progress towards release. The remaining critical issues are problematic because they only happen in the build and work perfectly fine in the editor. This is going to require some digging into and more extensive testing to figure out why issues that we have fixed in the editor, are only in the build. It makes no sense. That is where we are now. I am leaving to NYC for the weekend and coming back Tuesday to meet with some FDNY Personnel about potential plans in the future for VR implementation to be possibly used in drills. I will also be doing my usual buffing and stopping by firehouses. I had originally planned to take my PC with me to be able to work on the go but decided the risk of my PC being broken while traveling was way too high and if anything were to happen to it, it would severely delay the release of this update. I will be taking my Laptop to see if there are options for me to work over the cloud remotely.
So long story short, only a few game breaking issues remain, not a simple fix, need to dig into why the issues are only happening in the build and not in the editor. Will be gone for 5 days in NYC, not taking PC as its too risky to try to travel with and risk breaking it. Donut will be digging into the issues over the weekend. Our goal, as every year is to have the update ready for this year's Christmas sale. That is the goal! Stay tuned for further updates!
My steam people! I know our last update to you guys was in September. Before you guys read the below message. I sincerely want to apologize for not communicating efficiently in this community. The amount of negative feedback on this platform from reviews, to discussions really takes a toll on me mentally. So I haven't been keeping up to date with a lot of your comments and concerns in the discussions and instead my staff have been keeping me on the need to know. A lot of the things posted here can get really personal, hateful, and it really is discouraging at times. But besides that we have been hard at work and have an update for you guys!
Hey everyone! I wanted to give you all an update. I know so many of you are skeptical, frustrated, angry, disappointed, and many other verbs. Especially with my lack of communication with the community especially on our Steam Page. First of all this will be pretty lengthy so take a seat. I want to thank my Support team for doing an incredible job this month. I am not sure of the specifics of the stats but we have fixed over 250 (Two hundred and fifty) bugs since 0.7.7J. The game experience you will all have in 0.7.8 will be much smoother and stable than any update in the past. We are still in closed testing and making leaps of progress everyday. Every day new bugs are reported and are fixed but our main concern has been the game breaking issues, things that will completely ruin your experience and make you want to throw your PC out a window, and oh boy did we run into those.
Just an example of some of the issues we ran into and got stuck on, some for weeks even. Things that worked perfectly and just broke and ceased to work. Fires just stopped working and wouldn't be extinguished by water causing us to have to update the code to be more reliable, Police cars and EMS vehicles spawning system broke preventing you from being able to drive the vehicles. Tower Ladder Nozzles and Deck guns broke. Item pick up broke. I could go on and on. These are things we did not foresee but happened and caused delays in the development of not just Montgomery County but the huge update we plan on releasing very soon, like in the next week or two. Maybe even sooner, I cannot tell you guys anything concrete because who knows if anything major will break next, but we are at a point now in testing where these game breaking bugs have been weeded out and now we are just left with a list of mostly cosmetic and minor issues. Things that wont break your game and prevent you from enjoying the game. In the past we approached this process much differently.
We didn't have a support team before who goes out of there way and dedicates hours of their day to testing, writing bug reports, breaking the game, helping others with their issues, and helping me get this project done. Before we would just hope that things worked the way they should and let all our players test, and the results were a lot of complaining, frustration, etc. Now that we have a dedicated testing team, we are able to find all these bugs before our player base finds them and allows us to not be overwhelmed with issues and reports when we put an update out on the staging branch or public branch. We are hard at work everyday, just because I haven't posted much in here does not mean things are not progressing. Many people can attest to that.
Our game plan as of a few days ago, we decided we will be releasing an update on all branches which will include the hundreds of bug fixes and improvements for the Manhattan and Fire Academy maps. The Fire Academy will also include all of the new Montgomery County vehicles for you all to become familiar with while we move into the next stage which is VIP Montgomery County Map testing. We will be polishing that and making sure it is ready for you guys. Support can tell you it still needs some work but so many of you are convinced that we dropped Manhattan for this new map which is not true at all. In fact 90% of the bugs we have fixed come from the original maps.
We are down to like 3 game breaking bugs, being 1. if you have more than 5 vehicles spawned, doors and compartments start to dissapear off of trucks preventing you from accessing the items inside, 2. When exiting a vehicle you can still control it, and 3 some item positioning on the new firefighter model causing issues. Once we get those figured out which shouldn't take too much longer, we will be golden for a release of 0.7.8 FINALLY which will address so many issues you all have been having. I hope you all can forgive my absence in the community, but I have not been absent from developing. I promise you guys once this update is released, it will hopefully change a lot of people's perceptions on the game and on me. It has taken so long because I do not want to make the same mistakes I did in the past by releasing broken updates without testing thoroughly and man, this update has been tested thoroughly for weeks so it will be a much better and more stable experience than any update we have put out in the past.
