Hey Panda Peeps - it’s story time!

Approximately a thousand years ago, when the internet was young, and the pursuit of waifus not yet so mainstream - there was a game that came out that rocked some socks. It was an RPG with a spiky haired protagonist back in the days where that wasn’t nearly so common.

Well, the creators of Crush Crush played that game. And we fell in love with the waifus. And we had our own head-canons for what it might be like if certain characters got together and had themselves their own little “final” fantasy, if you catch our drift.

Anyway - completely unrelated - here’s Claudia!

Claudia is a tough, bad ass gal who could save the world and look bored doing it. She’s a bit angsty. She’s a bit gutsy. And she’s more than a bit busty.

She may or may not be the child of a certain head-canon. Or she may or may not be just a fun gender-bend of another character. Who knows? We’re not experts. But she’s definitely satirical, and falls within the bounds of fair use.

So unlock Claudia, help her on her quest, and do what we always wanted to do in the days of yore… Take her out for dinner. Give’er a smooch. Good times!

Hey Panda Peeps!

So the second great Phone Fling vote is over, and we can finally announce the winner! After thousands and thousands of votes, the lucky girl that’s getting the ‘full character’ treatment is…

Actually three girls! WHOA! What a twist!

This vote was a nail biter behind the scenes. The scores kept taking surprising turns, and the girls that got an early lead didn’t all hold that lead over the course of the event.

The vote was SO close in fact that we decided to surprise everyone and to award the title to the top 3 winners - Wendy, Ruri and Generica!

Our team is now going to get to work transforming these gals into fully dateable characters, complete with voice actresses, and dress up options.

And just to be clear - we’re not going to do this “top 3” business every time. We’re making a special exception here.

Since stuff like voice casting can be a bit unpredictable, we won’t know for sure when the girls are coming. But rest assured they are! We’ll be announcing each of them as we get ready to launch them, so keep an eye out for them at a future date.

And to all of those who voted, whose waifus did not win, stay strong. OjiPanda feels your pain (he has a major crush on Soy and Renée, the 4th and 5th runners up). There will be more chances soon! Don’t lose hope!

Polish up that voting finger and get ready to democracy, because it’s time for another Phone Fling Voting poll!

In case this is your first time democracy-ing, here’s what’s going on: every so often, we do a poll to see which gal the community would like to see upgraded to full character / date-able status. It’s easy! Once you finish a Phone Fling conversation, you'll be given the option to vote for that girl to be promoted.

Everyone gets 1 free vote. And, if you're really serious, you can buy a few extra votes with diamonds. (Up to 4 extra votes, just as a way to show your enthusiasm for your favorite waifus.)

If you choose to get the extra votes, you can spread them around to all your favorite ladies. Or just make them rain on one girl in particular. It's your call!

Last time we did a poll, we got a TON of suggestions from the community on ways to make it better. Players were worried that waifus that are new or more difficult to unlock had the odds stacked against them. While others really didn’t like you could see the running total of votes, because it created weird popularity contests and divided waifu-lovers everywhere.

So we’re definitely tweaking how things are done, but we’re going to tweak things one at a time. This time the vote tally won’t be revealed until the end of the poll. It’s a secret to everyone, so anticipation will be high. We’re considering a few other major and minor tweaks as well, but we’ll be introducing them in subsequent polls.

So get out there, earn some diamonds, vote for your waifus and wait to see if the Phone Fling of your dreams makes to the big leagues. And by “big leagues”, I mean into your digital embrace. (Aww.)
