Hello Winning Putt Community! After weeks of fierce competition, Season 10 of the Volero Tour is about to come to a close! To give the Tour a fitting end, we’re pulling out all the stops as you take on the final tournament on the hellish grounds known as Seven Angels. Be sure to take a close look at the retry limits since this one is going to push even the best players to their limits!

For Players level 1 through 24, you will be teeing off on Seven Angels while participating on Normal Difficulty! Up for grabs is your share of 5,000,000 Gold and 10,00 Ranked Tournament Points! To participate and be eligible for prizes, Players must pay a 5,000 Gold Entry Fee and complete all 18 Holes of the tournament. For this Tournament, there will be a limit of 2 retries per player. Once you’ve used up all your retries, you will be unable to re-enter the tournament.

For Players level 25 and above, you will be also be teeing off on Seven Angels while playing on Very Hard! Up for grabs is your share of 20,000,000 Gold and 10,000 Ranked Tournament Points! To participate and be eligible for prizes, Players must pay a 50,000 Gold Entry Fee and complete all 18 holes of the tournament. For this Tournament, there will be a limit of 1 retries per player. Once you’ve used up all your retries, you will be unable to re-enter the tournament.

This tournament will come to a close at 1:00PM PST / 9:00PM UTC on February 22th, 2018. After this time, Players will be unable to enter the tournament.

Players unsatisfied with their initial score may purchase a re-participation ticket from the Support Shop for 5,000 Gold or 150 Platinum. With this ticket, Players will be allowed to re-participate in the tournament and their current score will be replaced with their next round of golf regardless of whether their new score is better or not.

However, this upcoming Emergency Maintenance will be addressing the current wonkiness that Players may have experienced in the Guild League. From shots being lobbed into the Water to Rounds being uncompletable, these will all be handled tomorrow.

Happy New Year’s Winning Putt Community! It’s been a while since our last Patch Notes, but since then we’ve been tinkering around with things in preparation for today! Listed below are the big changes that are going to be applied after Maintenance and we hope that you’re as excited for them as we are! From new additions to major bug fixes, we’ve covered everything you need to know to golf your best out on the course.

Without further ado, here are the first Patch Notes for 2018!

New Additions

• Guild League
  A new play mode is finally here – the Guild League! Based on feedback we’ve received over the past year, the Guild League is a new mode that allows Guilds to go head-to-head in order to prove just who has the better golfers.
  
  Setup in a similar way to Tournaments, the Guild League is comprised of multiple weeks of competition that fall under one entire Guild League season. Rewards are distributed at the end of every week with a larger reward being distributed at the end of the Season.
  
  So you may be asking – how does the mode itself actually work? It’s quite simple really if you’ve ever played a Foursome mode before. Sharing one ball between each team, Players will try to shoot their best score while working together. One nifty addition designed to aid participants is the addition of the new GPS Marker Feature. This marker will make a clear on-screen mark anywhere on the course to help guide your Partner as you try to sync your shots.
  
  At the end of each Match, you will be awarded points based on your performance. However, in addition to your scorecard, you will also be judged on how well you
  actually did against your opponent. From landing the ball closer to the green to sinking the ball in less putts, there are a ton of ways to score points even if you didn’t win the hole!
  ​
  Important Note: Because this is a new competitive mode that we’re still looking to adjust as time goes on, these first few seasons will be “Beta” or “Test” seasons that will also award different rewards than a typical season would.
  
  Important Note 2: The Schedule for this first test run of the Guild League will be a little shorter than what we expect will be considered “normal”. Be sure to check out the schedule in-game at the Guild NPC to see the exact times and dates!
  
  We will be asking for feedback throughout the Season so please be sure to send us your honest opinions! Be it through the forums, through a CS ticket, or on Social Media, we are excited to hear what you have to say!
  
  
• Guild Coin Shop
  While we accidentally gave a sneak peek into this new feature, the Guild Coin Shop is finally ready to open! We’ve heard your feedback about trying to spruce up Guilds and the Guild Coin Shop is one of the many features we’re excited to add into the game.
  
  Packed with Consumables, Enchanting Items, Name Change Tickets, and Guild Kiosks, the Coin Shop allows Guild Members to work together to get the items they need! Green Coins (the currency for the Guild Shop) are obtained when Guildmates participate in the Guild League.
  
  Important Note: You may notice that the Guild Coin Shop is still empty. Because the first few seasons of the Guild League will essentially be test runs, the rewards don’t include any of the Coins required to make purchases from the shop. As we get closer to the first official season, we’ll be sure to have all the juicy details in a future Patch Notes or Maintenance Notice!​
  
  
• [Chat] Shout Changes
  When you enter the game you may notice that you’re unable to use the Shout channel that we’re all used to utilizing when we’re looking for a slight change of pace (aka a different text color). In addition to another welcome chat box upgrade, we’ve changed the Shout feature slightly.
  
  First and foremost, you’ll be unable to use Shout unless you have the new Disposable Megaphone item in your inventory. At this point in time, this item will only be available through the Guild Coin Shop.
  
  Now you may be wondering – just what the heck does this new Shout feature do and why do I need an item to do it? Well my friends, instead of just showing up as different colored text, the Shout feature will now send your messages to everyone, be it in the Square, in a different Channel, or even in a Round. Messages sent using this feature will be heard all around the Winning Putt World.
  
  So the next time you’re looking for a game, or trying to find someone to queue with for Time Attack, or just trying to express how happy you are for pulling one stroke ahead during a Ranked Round, be sure to try out the new Shout feature!
  
  
• [Chat] Emoji Additions
  An addition that’s been overdue, we’ve finally added in some more modern emojis to the chatbox! Be more expressive as you take on others on the course – these new emotes have a unique character pose associated with them!
  
  
• Skill Changes
  One of the bigger changes coming to Winning Putt this patch are some changes to Skills and how Mentality and Stamina consumption is calculated.
  
  Starting with the skills themselves, Common Skills won’t see any major changes and both Power and Accuracy will still be able to pick from them. That said, some Common Skills are being changed into Class specific skills. In keeping with the theme of both character types, Power Characters are getting Penetrating Shot skill while Accuracy Characters will be receiving the Rough Wood Shot and the Bunker Wood Shot skills.
  
  In addition to these changes, both classes will also be receiving a new skill. For Power Characters, you will see PowerShot 2 once you’ve hit the prerequisite level and stat requirements. PowerShot 2 will provide you a +80 Power Increase to your shot, has no club restrictions, and can be used on any type of terrain. For Accuracy Characters, you’ll see StraightShot 2 as an option. Limited to Irons or Wedges, this skill can be used on any type of terrain and will automatically increase your “Nice Shot” chances.
  
  To account for these changes (as well as make other types of training more appealing), the last change to all of this is the restriction of using one Stamina and one Mentality drink per hole. As we touched on in the Letter from the Groundskeeper, there’s rarely a situation where you wouldn’t use a skill to empower your shot since refilling on Stamina or Mentality was simply one click away. To combat this and create a more dynamic environment, we’re targeting the items that allowed situations like this to exist.
  
  All that said, do not fret! Skills will for the most part will be getting a large reduction on how much Stamina and Mentality they drain. However, a good rule of thumb is if a skill has a large impact, it’ll most likely cost more to use.
  
  Also – there’s now a Daily Mission that will allow Players to obtain Drinks on a more consistent basis.
  
  
• Server Time / Display
  For those of you who didn’t know, you can see what channel you’re currently in by taking a quick peek up in the top right-hand corner of your screen. However, if you keep looking there for a few seconds, you’ll notice that it will loop between showing your channel and the current server time. Something that may not mean much, but should assist Players who have been running into issues when dealing with Daily Missions or rewards.
  
  
• /ping
  The long-awaited ping feature is now here in Winning Putt. Curious if your game is acting up? Wondering whether or not network latency is affecting your shot? Type /ping into your chatbox to check your connection to the Winning Putt servers!
  
  
• New Club Class
  In an effort to continuously respond to the feedback we receive from the entire Player-base, today we’re happy to announce the release of the Indigo Clubs! These new clubs differ from other Clubs in a few significant ways. First and foremost, these clubs will always have a 100% success rate when enchanting. That’s right – these clubs will never fail when you try to enchant them. Second, these clubs can go all the way up to +50 on the enchanting scale. Something that sounds a little crazy on the surface, but isn’t all that bad when you consider that you’ll never fail while enchanting (plus we’ve adjusted the required materials and Gold cost to account for all those extra levels). Last but not least, these clubs will not have a set bonus like other clubs due to the amount of stats they can achieve based on their enchantment level.
  
  To find these new Indigo Clubs, swing over to the Craft-o-Matic where you’ll see them in their entirety, ready to be crafted. That said, you’ll want to swing to the ETC tab where you’ll find Club Boxes for the Advanced Indigos. Now, you may notice that all of these clubs and boxes require the Indigo Trade Ticket to craft. These tickets will be obtainable through a Daily Mission that just requires you to play normally as well as from disenchanting other Indigo Clubs.
  
  In a nutshell, these new clubs are designed to be a long-term investment where anything you put in won’t be lost to random chance.
  
  The Daily Mission to obtain Indigo Tickets will automatically appear once you hit Level 27!
  
  
• Square Decorations Change (Lunar New Years Themed)
  With Winter slowly coming to an end and warmer temperatures coming back, the snow from the Square will be making an exit once the patch is live. Be sure to keep an eye out for a fan favorite that’s temporarily coming back to the Square with a new costume!
  
  Note: We've drastically reduced the amount of fan favorite somethings that load onto the Square to avoid causing lag in the Square.
  
  
• Character Deletion Timer Changes
  We’re shortening the timers on how long it takes for a character to get deleted. For those of you who are trying to open up Character space, Character Deletion will now only take a total of 2 days.
  
  
• Golf Ball Landing Effects
  To help make your golf ball purchases feel even more valuable, we’ve added some new effects whenever you use Platinum Golf Balls. Keep an eye out for all the cool new effects as you duke it out on the course!

Valentine’s Day Event
It’s almost Valentine’s Day and you know what that means – it’s time for some lovey-dovey festivities!

As soon as this new update goes live, we will have turned on the hearts. And by hearts, I mean the temporary Quest Item called Valentine Hearts that you’ll use to turn into snazzy Valentine’s Day clothing!

Every time you shoot a Birdie, you’ll be awarded one of three different hearts based on the course you’re playing on. Once you’ve obtained enough hearts, swing over to the Craft-o-Matic and head to the ETC tab under crafting.

To clarify, the types of heart you receive when shooting a birdie is based on the course you’re playing on and is not random.

We can’t wait to see everyone rocking their new snazzy outfits!

  • We are aware of the issue with Power Run and are trying to solve the issue as quickly as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please avoid using the skill or you may experience a decrease in driving distance when trying to use it.

Bug Fixes

• Gratuitous amounts of text fixes on Missions, Items, and other various UI elements.
  
• Removed the possibility of Snow appearing on Edelweiss.
  
• Fixed a text bug on the Albatross Title.
