DETAILS
World of Tanks Blitz - tall_alpaca

It looks like the AMX 50 100 or Lorraine. What, you didn't penetrate it? That's because, unlike its lightly armored counterparts, the heavy Somua SM confidently withstands enemy hits. Its three-shell autoloading gun rids an enemy of 930 HP per magazine, pleasing its commander with victories and a solid credit income!
Containers that may include the Somua SM or other rewards will be available in the Store through August 6. Each container has a Somua SM Charm. Collect 25 Charms and get the tank!
Grenadier Legendary Camouflage
Sometime after your first battle in the Somua SM, you might get an offer for a Legendary camo that changes the tank's name in battle to Somua Grenadier.

Confident Shooter
Despite their physical resemblance and equal armament, unlike the researchable AMX 50 100, the new Somua SM relies on protection, not on mobility. Its turret has 200 mm of armor in the lower part and 135 mm of armor in the upper part, while the thickness of the upper armor plate of its hull is 155 mm. Taking into account the slopes, these parts of the armor can withstand hits from guns that penetrate up to 240 mm.

A small change in the hull's position towards an enemy shot increases the effective thickness of the armor, but don't overdo it, or else you risk your tracks. The lower armor plate is traditionally weak—its thickness is only 50 mm. So try not to expose it to enemy fire. The turret's vulnerable points are the commander's hatch and a small armor strip below the gun. The Somua SM must maneuver to prevent the enemy from targeting these spots.

It's important to pay attention to the turret's position in battle. It is an oscillating type of turret where gun depression affects the slope angle of turret armor. This angle is optimal when the gun is parallel to the ground. Elevating the gun will expose the vulnerable spot below it. If the gun is depressed, the entire upper part of the turret can be easily penetrated.
The Somua SM boasts a perfect gun depression angle of 10 degrees. This tank effectively takes advantage of terrain irregularities to hide its lower armor plate. Sticking the turret out from behind the hill, reeling off the entire magazine at the enemy, and retreating calmly to safety for reloading is a great strategy!

The Somua SM's gun features a 3-shell magazine with a 3-second reload time between shots. During the first 6 seconds, the tank is capable of dealing 930 HP of damage. The 232 mm of penetration is enough to penetrate most Tier VIII targets head-on. Its dispersion and aiming time are not of sniper quality, therefore, its gun is most effective at close and medium ranges.

After all three shells are fired, the tank needs quite a long time to reload: 25 seconds without equipment or 23 seconds with food provisions and Improved Ventilation installed. To survive this temporary helplessness, the Somua SM's commander must choose directions with multiple covers and avoid fighting on their own. This is especially important because the new tank can't quickly escape enemy fire and drive to the other end of the map.

The Somua SM moves steadily, just like a heavy tank with decent armor should. It will take just a couple of seconds to accelerate to 20 km/h, before reaching 30 km/h in about 6 seconds. Accelerating to the maximum of 40 km/h is possible when moving on a long, straight road or down a hill. The leisurely-paced suspension doesn't allow this tank to meet every shot from fans of outmaneuvering with its frontal armor, but the quick turret will ensure that the Somua SM always keeps offenders at gunpoint and doesn't fail to return fire.

Though the Somua SM is decently armored, it's not suitable for playing on the first line of attack. Its protection should be primarily used not for blocking damage but for effectively trading damage with enemies. To take aim and deliver all three shells right on target, the Somua SM must take advantage of its increased protection and stop.

In clashes with other heavies, the Somua SM will demonstrate great results on the second line of attack, teaming up with the most durable heavies like the Tiger II. Unleashing the entire magazine and safely reloading under the cover of an ally will allow this tank to successfully breach enemy defenses.

If medium tanks on the enemy team outnumber those on the allied team, the Somua SM can reinforce this flank. Its appearance will surprise the enemy while its frontal armor and firepower will help allies to quickly wipe out the enemy "cavalry". It's important that allied medium tanks stay low key and wait for the Frenchman's arrival, as it doesn't stand a chance on its own.

In any case, the Somua SM is capable of dealing impressive damage, and the amount of credits earned in battle will delight the commander of this new tank.
World of Tanks Blitz - Amber
Commander! The tricky cipher of the Kryptos machine hides the conditions for receiving valuable rewards. We managed to break half of it: victories will bring you resources and the giant VK 168.01 (P). The rest is on you. Break the cipher, complete all secret missions, and get even more prizes!

Credits, Credit boosters, and Premium Account. You'll get these resources in exchange for Rotors. There's no catch. The mechanics are simple and clear:

1 Victory = 2 Rotors
1 Victory with Premium Account = 3 Rotors
Once you complete 6 stages with resources, start collecting iconrotor Rotors for the VK 168.01 (P).
This heavy tank is all-around great at destroying opponents. It boasts excellent single-shot damage, decent penetration, and impressive ramming.

Further instructions are vague, so long as the Kryptos cipher isn’t broken. And yet, it is certain that you can get the rarest and most valuable rewards for iconcard Punchcards. Among them are Gold boosters, Premium Account, the Codebreaker Legendary avatar, and the Brute Force camouflage.

How to earn Punchcards? Complete secret missions! You'll need Ciphers to activate them. Ciphers also hide mission conditions. There are 12 Ciphers in total, each marked with a sequence number. You can get 8 Ciphers after battle (the drop chance is higher when you play with Premium Account), and another 4 Ciphers are kept in Codebreaker's Kits. Each completed mission will earn you 10 Punchcards.

You can get each Cipher several times. Complete the secret mission contained as many times as the number of corresponding Ciphers you have.
Codebreaker's Kit can be purchased using gold. Use it to receive Ciphers and iconrotor Rotors. Each Codebreaker's Kit includes iconrotor 25 Rotors and one of 4 Ciphers.

Decryption keys can appear anywhere and on any day of the event. Read news, explore social networks, and check Discord. Share your findings with other commanders. Remember: your utmost attention and team work are the keys to success!

Schedule by server:
  • CIS: July 23, 8:00 (MSK) to August 6, 8:00 (MSK)
  • Europe: July 23, 14:00 (CEST) to August 6, 14:00 (CEST)

  • APAC: July 23, 14:00 (UTC+8) to August 6, 14:00 (UTC+8)
After August 6, the encryption algorithm will change. Punchcards will become useless, Rotors will no longer be added, and Ciphers will be removed from your account with 10,000 credits in compensation. But you'll have one more day to use Codebreaker's Kits. Each purchase of the Codebreaker's Kit will bring you 25 Rotors.

World of Tanks Blitz - tall_alpaca

Apart from the name, the French Panther received something more from its steel predecessors. This Tier VI medium tank bites quickly and accurately and reaches high speed when going after an enemy. The Bretagne Panther requires some training, but a skilled commander will be rewarded not only with additional XP, but also with honor and glory!

Until the end of July, the game Store will offer bundles with Bretagne Panther Containers that may include this vehicle. Each container has a Bretagne Panther Charm. Collect 25 Charms and get the tank!
French Modification of the Famous German Tank
The recognizeable silhouette of the Panther is not a coincidence. After the Allied landing in Normandy, several such tanks were captured by the French Armed Forces.

The Bretagne Panther was designed for support. The right tactics for it would be to stay behind cover, use great elevation/depression angles (−8°, +20°), and bite off enemy HP until there's nothing left. Its accurate gun with 150 mm penetration and impressive 1,900 points of damage per minute (with installed equipment) will easily let you do this.

The Panther is nothing like a kitty: its large size requires skillful positioning as its armor is quite weak. So no open spaces! Fortunately, its top speed of 55 km/h lets it quickly occupy the most comfortable position.

The speed is great, the engine is powerful, but its maneuverability is mediocre because of the low traverse speed. The good amount of HP for a medium tank isn't a solution to everything when the Panther is fighting against a group of enemies, so each movement should be precise and balanced.

Tame the Bretagne Panther and get yourself a dangerous predator: a careful and very effective one!

Changes in Armor Highlighting
We tried to eliminate situations when red zones are penetrated and grey ones aren't. Now armor highlighting will be more precise for many tanks. For example, the probability of penetration will display better in situations when armor is at an angle to the aiming point, when there are two layers of armor, or if a shell can punch right through armor.
Remember that armor highlighting is a hint and not an ultimate rule. It simply shows the possibility of penetration. It doesn't guarantee it. The result of a shot is still affected by multiple factors like +/-5% to dispersion, enemy maneuvers, and other factors.

Updated Bonus Containers
We reworked the content system of bonus containers (daily, weekly, and three-day containers).

Newcomers will now get more resources like credits, Credit boosters, and Combat XP boosters from these containers to accelerate their game progress. For skilled commanders, there will be Gold and Cooldown boosters. The higher the vehicle tier, the more valuable the content.

Moreover, drop chances will be clearer for all containers in the game.

New Battle Chat Features
If one player destroys a tank that was previously damaged more than 51% by another player, both of them will receive a new notification type. It will show not only the name of the fighter who destroyed the tank, but also the name of the player who assisted.

Balance Changes
In the new update, the parameters of many Tier VII vehicles were adjusted. The changes seek to ensure that tanks of this tier and of the same type have comparable performance and can better play their battle role. In addition, the characteristics of Tier VII–X Collector and Premium vehicles were improved. For example, the FV217 Badger tank destroyer is now faster and more accurate.
Control Features
Partial support of popular gamepad models for Android is back. Also, all supported platforms now feature sensibility and inversion settings.

The following main control options are set as default:
• Android/iOS: "Touch"
• Windows 10: "Keyboard and Mouse" (displays as permanently disabled for mobile devices)

When connecting the gamepad, the "Gamepad" control type will be displayed in settings. You'll need to choose it only once. For future instances, it will be enabled automatically.

The "Same Control Mode" will no longer be available for PC. However, it will be preserved for touch devices. This change will essentially decrease the queue time for PC players.
Camouflage Rotation and Update
We're continuing our big Storage spring cleaning! If your Storage is overflowing with camos, there's a solution: Some of them can now be exchanged for Splinters. Splinters can be exchanged for a Camo Container that will always be available in the Store. This Container features different types of camouflage including standard and animated, with free resupply, and for any vehicle tier. The contents will change from time to time.

There are new items in the Camo menu: the Daredevil Legendary camouflage for the Kunze Panzer, the Standard Bearer attachment for the T-22 medium, and the Mighty Legendary camouflage and Spezialset attachment for the Jagdpanzer E 100.

The Ghost, Unexpectable, and Thunderbolt camos will no longer be available for purchase.
Legendary Camouflage for the T110E3
The owners of this menacing tank destroyer will get an individual offer featuring the Bulwark camo.

Improvements and Fixed Bugs
  • The Vickers Light, Vickers CR, and FV301 were updated to the new visual quality.
  • Missions for new players were reworked.
  • The Mines map was removed from rotation for Tier VII–X Rating battles.
  • Object 252U: Spare parts kits are now identified as spaced armor.
  • The bug where the sinking tank timer was displayed incorrectly in replays was fixed.
  • Issues with volume when loading the game and playing the sound of moving tracks were fixed.
  • Various screens, descriptions, and notifications were improved.
  • General bugs and client crashes were fixed.

World of Tanks Blitz - tall_alpaca

As it crawls from position to position, the TS-5 methodically takes out foes using its quick-firing gun with high penetration. Enemy return fire will bounce off of the sturdy, rounded cabin, thus making this TD's commander feel powerful and superior. It also earns plenty of shiny credits, so much that it's easier to weigh than count.

Until July 19, containers that may include TS-5 or other rewards will be available in the Store. Each container has a TS-5 Charm. Collect 25 Charms and get the tank destroyer!
Bison Legendary Camouflage
In the largest set of containers, you will find a certificate for the Bison Legendary camouflage. You'll also get an offer for this camo some time after your first battle with the TS-5. May the spirit of this mighty beast support you in battle!

Confident Attacks, Concrete Defense
Thanks to its rounded shape and 250 mm of thick armor, the TS-5 is able to withstand the fire from the most powerful guns. When in a position that hides the vulnerable strip of armor just below the gun, the vehicle becomes almost impenetrable. It's possible to drive it out from its lofty perch only with powerful HE shells or by attacking from the flanks.

The TS-5 will perform well as offensive fire support. By following heavy tanks, skillfully maneuvering, and smartly using cover, it's capable of inflicting the lion's share of damage on a group of attackers. If necessary, this vehicle can lead the attack, but only as a last resort. In close combat, the enemy will be able to target the commander's hatch, the armor strip below the gun, and parts of the suspension.

However, you can try to lock fronts against a tank with small elevation/depression angles. When "butting", the enemy won't be able to reach the lower armor plate, and hitting the commander's hatch while actively maneuvering won't be easy. But this is a desperate tactic because there's always the danger that the enemy will aim at your side.

Low speed and maneuverability are a fair price to pay for heavy armor. It's better for the TS-5 not to act alone, as even some heavy tanks can circle it. An ally (or better yet, a platoonmate) nearby is the best remedy for such troubles.

The TS-5 has a maximum speed of 26 km/h that it can reach in a matter of seconds. To be useful in battle, constantly stay on the move. As is often the case in regular battles, by the time the TS-5 arrives at the clash, other fighters have already exchanged first shots, which means it's time to join the attack and put pressure on enemies on the chosen route. Or cover the retreat of battered allies and stop the breach.

With 258 mm of penetration, 400 HP of single-shot damage, and a reload time of 8.7 seconds, the TS-5 is an expert at destroying enemy vehicles. Whether it's the front of the hull or the turret, this tank destroyer is able to penetrate most enemies without carefully targeting vulnerable points. Especially strong ones will feel the HEAT, which burns through 340 mm of armor.

The combination of a high rate of fire and durable armor gives the TS-5 the ability to deal with enemies without rolling back into cover too often. With ammo and equipment, its potential damage per minute exceeds 3,000 HP. Enemies will have to stand in line to return to the Garage!

Become a commander and join the Resistance to save humanity in the latest World of Tanks Blitz operation! This battle will be a fierce one. But if you manage to survive, you won't only free Earth, but you'll also earn resources, Collector vehicles, camos, and other rewards.

How to Get Rewards
To participate in the event, you'll need a Tier III vehicle or higher.

The Operation includes two reward progressions, each consisting of 80 levels. The upper progression is available to everyone with a regular Pass, meaning all players. The lower progression is only available to Premium Pass holders. Increase the Level of your Pass to get rewards. To do so, complete missions and earn Microchips: 10 Microchips = 1 Level.

Although your Level increases automatically, you will need to collect your rewards manually.

You can earn up to 30 Microchips per day. Premium Pass owners enjoy access to an additional daily mission that provides an extra 10 Microchips. With Premium Pass, you can earn 40 Microchips a day and unlock 4 levels with rewards. Also, Premium Pass lets you instantly increase your Level using gold.

When Does Operation Salvation Take Place?
  • CIS: July 1, 8:00 (MSK) to July 29, 8:00 (MSK)
  • Europe: July 1, 14:00 (CEST) to July 29, 14:00 (CEST)

What Rewards Can I Get?
There will be huge amounts of resources, themed camos and avatars, a profile background, certificates for XP bonuses for victories, and Collector tanks!

With Premium Pass, the T40 Tier IV tank destroyer awaits you at Level 1. The gun's decent characteristics and weak armor define its playstyle. When being used as a sniper, the T40 is at its best. Hide behind cover, target an enemy's weak spot, deal damage, and—content with your job—watch the enemy's health points rapidly decrease.

And at Level 35, the BLTZ9000 tank will be added to your Garage. Its mechanics were based on that of an M18 Hellcat adapted to the harsh realities of a cybernetic world (just take a look at that Minigun attachment!). Luckily for us, this fighter is ready to take on rebellious vehicles and fight for humanity. With speed and stealth—its main advantages—the BLTZ9000 quickly changes positions, aims fast, and features a great reloading speed. And when it attacks, it can remain unseen. With you as the commander, it's ready to win and lead humanity to liberation.
