World of Tanks Blitz - TOG II*

Strong frontal armor, a durable turret ready to bounce anything coming its way, a decent gun and surprisingly good movement for a 60-ton colossus—all this can be found in the newest Premium tank, the Chrysler K. Additionally, the legendary “Tomahawk” camouflage and the “Vanguard” attachment will underline the crushing power of this monster. Meet this thick-skinned heavy up close and battle for victory, credits and glory!

Until February 1, two versions of the Chrysler K—one fully loaded and the other more bare-bones—will be in the Store. Also, in a separate package, you’ll find the “Vanguard” attachment and legendary camouflage, which changes the tank’s name in battle to Chrysler K Tomahawk!

Everything You Need to Know

Until today, there was only one Tier VIII heavy tank with a rear-mounted turret, the Soviet IS-2Sh. There are both pros and cons to these vehicles: due to this turret placement some heated discussions can start, but they have proven themselves in “Blitz” battles.

Straightaway, the reasoning behind rear-mounted turret becomes clear: the Chrysler K will be especially good in urban confrontations. You position your hull in a diamond shape near a house, cover your front behind the wall, and deal some damage, rejecting any incoming shells with your side. The thickness of its side armor is only 110 mm but angling the heavy will get the job done with its ricocheting. 100% guaranteed.

The turret also makes for convenient shooting from such positions. Its thickness reaches up to 254 mm (at the gun’s mask). Frontally, it varies from 152 mm up to 254 mm. This impressive defense is reinforced by a rounded shape, perfect for ricochets. The turret still can be penetrated by targeting the commander’s hatch, but to hit it, a foe will need sniper-like accuracy, a little luck and your willing participation (simply stand still and let the enemy take aim).

As for the frontal armor, there’re some pros and some cons. The good: the upper plate has a thickness of 152 mm and is set at a great angle to perfectly protect your HP pool. The bad: the infamous weak spot, the lower plate. Despite an impressive 145 mm of thickness, it can be easily penetrated by most rivals because of its insufficient inclination. Remember: the longer you hide this plate, the more likely you are to stay alive.

Its thick armor and large mass don’t mean that the Chrysler K isn’t a boisterous tank. Just imagine a Rottweiler that’s heard the rustle of food being prepared, that’s this American heavy. On the flats, its powerful engine accelerates to 30km/h in 5 seconds and gets up to its max speed of 40 km/h in just 10. This means that you’ll manage to get to the key areas of a map and, even on occasion, to ram an unaware soft target.

The maneuverability of this American heavy is also pretty decent: this vehicle can take sharp turns with just slight deceleration. The turret spins fairly quickly (it’s on a par with the VK 45.02 or the IS-5). Of course, as a heavy vehicle you can be circled around by a speedy enemy tank, but they better be prepared for returning fire.

The Chrysler K is armed with the improved version of the T32’s top 105-mm gun. It features a good rate of fire, decent armor penetration and modest damage. You’ll be able to penetrate the majority of foes when targeting their weak points. For those well-protected enemies, an APCR shell can prove useful with its ability to pierce armor 245 mm thick.

As for the gun depression, it depends on where exactly you point your barrel. When looking forward, you’ll only have 6 degrees. However, when hanging over the sides or the back, the number will reach 10 degrees. These angles won’t make the Chrysler K the “lord of the hills”, but it will help in some situations to utilize the terrain and fight more effectively.

Chrysler K: It’s a dynamic “heavy”, able to quickly adjust to the course of battle. Its combination of good mobility and strong armor makes it a multi-tasking fighter who can both defend the land and lead the charge. It’s a versatile warrior, but don’t send it to do reconnaissance. Due to the rear-mounted turret (which is pretty handy at ricocheting shells, too), this new Premium is great for urban battles. And thanks to its Premium yield, there will be an extra heap of credits on top of your victories!

World of Tanks Blitz - TOG II*

The brand-new M4-A2 is an American tank that fought under the Soviet flag. It is an in-game implementation of the vehicle that captain Dmitriy Loza, a Hero of the Soviet Union, used to fight on.

Bundles with the M4-A2 (fully equipped or without mounted equipment) will be available in the Store through January 25. Choose the configuration to your liking!

Maneuverable and fast-firing

Loza's M4-A2 Sherman is very similar to the researchable M4A3E8 with a stock turret and less powerful engine. These vehicles also have similar guns; however the Loza's Sherman gun is more accurate and aims a bit quicker.

Like most other Shermans in the game, the M4-A2’s armor is not something to boast about. Its high hull can be easily penetrated by most enemies. However, the turret’s front armor is almost fully covered by the thick gun mantlet, so the Loza's Sherman can significantly increase its survivability on irregular terrain.

Despite having a less powerful engine than its counterpart, the M4A2 is still quite a fast vehicle. It quickly accelerates to 30-35 km/h and then steadily reaches its top speed. The best thing about the Loza's Sherman is its maneuverability: it negotiates sharp curves well. This advantage is also boosted by a fast turret, which will remain a constant threat for enemies even in the most chaotic battles.

The M4-A2 gun has solid damage per minute: 1,756 HP of damage with AP shells without provisions and equipment. To deal this much damage you will have to be on the move, actively making flank and rear attacks. However, sometimes AP shells can't penetrate a well-armored front. In this case, APCR will be there for you, though it deals 25 HP of damage less than AP shells.

Solid accuracy and short aiming time allow sharpshooting at long distances while taking full advantage of the gun’s firing speed. The famous American stabilization will provide a solid bonus to your hit ratio: you will fire accurately even in sharp turns at full speed.

Test this new vehicle in battle — rush ahead to victory!

Loza's M4-A2 Sherman. Historical Reference

Dmitriy Loza, a Hero of the Soviet Union, went to the front in 1943. He used to fight on foreign-made vehicles: first on Matildas and then on Shermans.

Loza's M4-A2 Sherman is an in-game implementation of one of the vehicles the legendary captain used to fight on. Tanks of this type were supplied to the USSR from the USA within the lend-lease program and received rather positive reactions from the Red Army soldiers. Loza's Sherman is equipped with a 76 mm long-barreled М1А2 gun with a good rate of fire and high damage per minute. The vehicle's exterior reflects the original appearance of captain Loza's tank.

World of Tanks Blitz - TOG II*

Rapid-firing and accurate, dynamic and maneuverable, also good-looking and quite profitable—it’s the new Premium Panzer 58. The excellent characteristics are complemented by the Mutz legendary camouflage—the image of a ferocious bear is spread across the turret and hull sides. The camouflage changes the tank's name in battle to Panzer 58 Mutz and does not require replenishment. Intimidate your opponents and tear enemy vehicles to pieces!

Bundles including the Panzer 58 with or without full equipment, as well as a separate bundle featuring the Mutz legendary camouflage, will be available in the in-game Store till December 21. Become one of the first lucky owners of the Panzer 58!

More about the Panzer 58

In battle, the Panzer 58 most resembles its researchable German counterparts—the Tier IX and X Leopards. Despite being just as weakly armored, it has excellent maneuverability, decent speed, and an efficient gun.

In fact, the armor of the Panzer 58 is not as impressive as it may seem judging by its characteristics. You'll find a small area at the front of the hull that is 120 mm thick, but the remaining armor is thinner, which makes it easy to penetrate for most opponents.

The turret has more reliable protection. First of all, the thick 120 mm armor plate at its front is larger. Secondly, a large part of the turret is covered by the gun mantlet. The enemy will find its weak spots in a close quarters engagement, but the turret of the Panzer 58 will be able to block a number of enemy shells at medium and long distances.

Thanks to its powerful engine and average weight, the Panzer 58 quickly accelerates to 40 km/h, which gradually reaches the maximum of 50 km/h on level ground. Rest assured: on this Premium tank, you will always be able to take a decisive position or rush to your allies' side in time to help them.

The maneuverability of the Panzer 58 deserves special mention: this tank makes turns within a small radius and with no noticeable loss in speed. That means you can easily spin a clumsy tank destroyer around or slip between obstacles and enemy vehicles like a slalom champion!

The rapid-firing gun of the Panzer 58 devours enemy vehicles' HP points like a locust eats crops: the potential damage per minute for an armor-piercing shell exceeds 2,100 hit points! And this is before provisions and equipment are added.

You'll have everything you need to turn potential damage into enemy tears, credits, and beautiful statistics: the 212 mm of penetration capability will be enough to hit the sides or reach vulnerable spots in the frontal area of most targets. If the enemy stays impenetrable, but you still want to "bite" them, the APCR shells with 259 mm of penetration power are just what you need.

The gun of the Panzer 58 "bows down" 10 degrees, which means it can deal damage with an additional advantage. Hide the tank's hull behind terrain irregularities, leave only the turret exposed to take the blow, and escape safely after punching some holes in enemy armor!

Crush them all on the new Panzer 58!

December rating battles will start on December 5. As always, players of the Platinum League will be able to enjoy some exclusive advantages.
Now, it will take some time before new players are able to train crew skills:
  • The Crew button and the tutorial tooltips for crew skill training will be activated in the Garage after receiving vehicles of Tier VI and above.
  • At the same time, the skills themselves will be trained in the background—starting from the leftmost skill, until it reaches the maximum level. Players will be able to select another skill for training when a corresponding screen appears, provided that there are vehicles of Tier VI and above in their Garage.
  • Now, all vehicles up to Tier V inclusive will always come with 100% crew mastery.
  • The first training in Regimental School to the level of 75% is now free. Subsequently, a normal fee will be charged.

  • After the battle, only boosters activated by the player in the previous battle will be activated in the Garage.

    • Aiming time was changed from 4.9 to 4.2 s.
    • Dispersion on gun traverse was decreased.
Bug Fixes and Improvements

Other improvements:
  • The German Tier X Maus can now be researched after the Tier IX Mäuschen only. Players can no longer research the Maus after the VK 45.02 (P) Ausf. B.
  • A second cluster was launched for the CIS region, which will improve the server’s ability to handle more online players. The online players counter is now divided into two parts. A player from the 1st cluster can invite a player from the 2nd cluster to join a platoon. While doing so, neither of them will have to enter the game again.
  • After the update’s release, all Twister season items will be removed. Players will receive 30,000 credits as compensation for one Fan Banner, and 100 credits as compensation for one Support Point. Twister Coins will not be compensated.
  • In the side menu, the Hall of Fame button that navigates to the list of top clans in the Hall of Fame on the portal will take the place of the Twister Season 2018 button. This button was also returned to the screen with the list of tournaments.
  • The maximum rating earned in the current season (but excluding the maximum rating earned during calibrations) is now displayed in the Rating tab in the player's profile.

  • The bug, where the "BATTLE!" button was displayed in the Garage instead of the Repairs button, was fixed.

World of Tanks Blitz - TOG II*

Commanders, get ready to meet the new update on November 13! In Update 5.5, we added new German vehicles and camouflages, increased profitability in rating battles, and preserved the Wasteland map in regular battles. We also reworked more than 60 vehicles and improved the gameplay of low-tier vehicles.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7Vx1uj1dRE
Main Changes and Improvements
  • The VK 100.01 (P), Mäuschen, and VK 72.01 (K) heavy tanks were added to the German Tech Tree.
    • The VK 100.01 (P) and Mäuschen can be researched after the Tiger (P).
    • The VK 72.01 (K) took the place of the Maus and can be researched after the VK 45.02 (P) Ausf. B.
    • Until the release of Update 5.6, the Maus can be researched after both the VK 45.02 (P) Ausf. B and Mäuschen.
    • Starting from Update 5.6, players will be able to research the Maus after the Mäuschen only.

  • The bonus to credits earned in rating battles was increased. Now it depends on the current rating, not on the league. The higher your rating, the more credits you will receive after battle:
    • Gold League (3,000—3,999 rating points): a bonus of 0–32% was added to credits earned, depending on the current rating.
    • Platinum League (4,000—4,999 rating points): a bonus of 33–65% will now be added to credits earned instead of 30%, depending on the current rating.
    • Diamond League (5,000 rating points and above): a bonus of 66% and above (unlimited) will now be added to credits earned instead of 60%.
  • In Update 5.5, the Wasteland map will be available in regular battles and training rooms. We'd like to hear your opinion on this map outside the Mad Games mode and collect statistics to determine the future of this location. Your feedback is very much appreciated!
  • A button that enables the selection of collector vehicles was added to the vehicle filter.
  • 4 rare camouflages were introduced. Their cost varies from 65 to 1,200 gold depending on the vehicle tier.

Changes to Vehicles

The Tech Tree, available modules, and mechanics were reworked for low-tier vehicles.
  • Tier I vehicles were removed from the game. They were replaced by more powerful tanks. Players will receive compensation for gold spent on purchasing camouflages for former Tier I vehicles.
  • To reduce the speed of the vehicle's destruction and allow newcomers to survive longer in battle, we removed howitzers and high-capacity magazines for almost all Tier I–IV vehicles. Some vehicles received a decreased rate of fire or damage per shot, while others—more HP or enhanced armor.
  • The economy of low-tier vehicles was reworked: the cost of researching modules and vehicles, purchasing vehicles, provisions, consumables, and resupplying camouflage was changed. The profitability of these vehicles was adjusted according to the new prices.
  • Please note that the changed modules of low-tier vehicles can also be available for Tier V–VII vehicles. In such cases, the technical characteristics of vehicles, except in top configuration, were also changed.
  • Since guns will be removed for many vehicles in this update, the shells for these guns can be deducted from your account with full compensation in credits. After updating your game client to version 5.5, check your ammunition before you enter battle.
  • Some researchable vehicles received Collector status and were removed from the Tech Tree. Several Premium tanks were also given Collector status. You can either keep them or sell them for gold.
  • For some vehicles in the updated Tech Tree, their vehicle type and tier were changed. Consequently, they now have a different number of available shells, slots for provisions and consumables, a different bonus to concealment provided by applied camouflage, etc.
Bug Fixes and Improvements
  • The "Damage by shot" ribbon was renamed "Damage caused", because it also counts damage from ramming.
  • The VK 45.03 was added to the list of vehicles that the player needs to destroy in order to receive the Hunter medal.
  • The bug, where the reticle could suddenly go up if the player switched to Sniper Mode when moving from behind cover with auto-aim enabled, was fixed.
  • The bug, where the battle selection controls were unavailable for some players who had vehicles of Tier V and above in their Garage, was fixed.
  • The bug, where black vehicle textures were displayed in the Garage (Steam version), was fixed.
  • The bug, where refracted shell tracers were displayed, was fixed.
  • Various screens, notifications, and descriptions were improved.
  • General bugs and client crashes were fixed.

World of Tanks Blitz - TOG II*

In Update 5.5, we'll put the German heavy vehicles' Tech Tree in order and replenish it with three Tier VIII-X tanks. A new Tier X tank VK 72.01 (K) with rear placement of the turret will take the place of the Maus and become a logical continuation of the VK 45.02 B, which has a similar configuration. Meanwhile, the Maus will head a new branch consisting of its previous projects: the VK 100.01 (P) and Mäuschen.

During Update 5.5, you'll be able to research the Maus after the VK 45.02 B. This means that if you were one step from the Maus before Update 5.5, you will still be able to research it, and you won’t have to research the Tier VIII and IX vehicles anew. Starting from Update 5.6, the Maus will only be unlocked after the Mäuschen.

Time to meet the new tanks!

Tier VIII: the VK 100.01 (P)

Researched after the Tiger (P) for 78,500 exp.

The VK 100.01 (P) drives at a speed of 20 km/h, but this is reasonable considering its 200 mm upper armor plate and 230 mm frontal turret armor. This is particularly heavy protection for Tier VIII, and in capable hands the new tank will become a true mobile fortress.

It hasn't avoided having soft spots, either: they’re the tank's lower armor plate and commander's cupola. The cupola's armor doesn't slope, and a well-armed enemy will be able to penetrate it despite the impressive 200 mm of steel.

The 128 mm top gun of the VK 100.01 (P) is powerful but really slow. Capable of inflicting 460 HP of damage per shot, it takes 16 seconds to reload. It's possible some players will even prefer the regular 105 mm gun that deals less damage but makes more frequent and accurate shots.

Tier IX: the Mäuschen

Researched after the VK 100.01 (P) for 160,500 exp.

This 168-ton "Mouseling" is a thicker and more mobile version of the VK 100.01 (P). The armor has become even heftier on the hull's sides and rear, as well as at the front and rear of the turret. The double tracks and powerful engine let this kid accelerate to 25 km/h—it's almost the Maus you've got here!

The lower armor plate has grown as thick as 180 mm, while the commander's cupola has acquired 220 mm of armor and moved to the other side of the turret. Despite the enhancements, these spots remain the “Mouseling's” main vulnerabilities in face-to-face combat as it now has to deal with Tier IX–X vehicles.

The Mäuschen's top gun is identical to that of the Maus, only with a decreased rate of fire and aiming speed. The 246 mm penetration together with the 460 hit points of single-shot damage make the new tank a dangerous enemy, while the availability of APCR shells means even the strongest opponents won’t have a chance.

Tier X: the VK 72.01 (K)

Researched after the VK 45.02 Ausf. B for 245,000 exp.

The E 100’s twin, only with a rear placement of the turret and thicker armor. These tanks have practically identical armament, as well as similar dynamics and top speeds.

The whole of the VK 72.01 (K) frontal hull is protected with 240 mm of armor. The upper armor plate has a slope and is almost impenetrable. The lower armor plate is less sloped but provides good protection when angled. The easiest way to penetrate the frontal hull armor is by hitting the small panel between the upper and lower armor plates: it doesn't have a slope and serves as the spot with the highest chance of penetration.

The turret of the VK 72.01 (K) resembles that of the Löwe: just as round and wearing a big gun mantlet. Don't let the 200 mm of armor in the characteristics fool you as the gun mantlet adds another 200 mm on top of that!

Unlike the E 100, the new Tier X tank has only one gun. This 150 mm gun takes more than 17 seconds to reload, but is capable of an impressive 640 HP of damage and penetrates 258 mm of armor, while her HE shells can really hurt if the enemy is careless enough to expose a weak spot.

The German giants have appeared on the horizon. Prepare for battle on these superheavy steel monsters!
