Update: PayPal is currently experiencing major issues that translate into massive payment delays for Armored Warfare. Not using this payment service for the time being is highly recommended, as your orders may take hours, or even days to process.
The Kornet-D1 is now also available in Loot Crates!
The Kornet-D1 Tank Destroyer was one of the proposed variants for the BMD-4M chassis. As a dedicated tank hunter, it was supposed to be armed with two Kornet ATGM quad launchers, providing the Russian Airborne forces with long-range tank-killing capabilities. The project was launched in 2013 but the vehicle never reached the prototype stage with the program likely being canceled in 2018. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the Kornet-D1 is a Tier 10 Premium Tank Destroyer and a tracked counterpart to the wheeled Kornet-EM progression vehicle. It is only lightly armed but also very stealthy and its lack of vision range is compensated by the ability to deploy a Sniper. Additionally, when configured properly, the vehicle is capable of launching two missiles at once, making it incredibly deadly against any target, especially at long ranges.
This vehicle is available via Loot Crates, which drop Kornet-D1 parts. Collect 100 Kornet-D1 parts from these Loot Crates to assemble the whole vehicle.
We hope that you will enjoy the offer and, as always:
For this year’s U.S. Independence Day celebration, we’ve prepared a special skin that we’d like to tell you about today. This skin will belong to one of the best Light Tanks in the game, the Tier 9 M8 Thunderbolt II. Now, you might be thinking – this is supposed to be a historical skin, how come you’re making it for a vehicle that had never seen service before its development was unceremoniously canceled in the 1990s?
The answer is more complicated than that. Let’s start with the vehicle first. The XM8 by FMC was designed in the 1980s and the early 1990s to compete in the ill-fated Armored Gun System contest in order to replace the aging Sheridan, which had been in service since the Vietnam War. The whole history behind the program is described in this dedicated article but, long story short, it was canceled in 1996 following the budget cuts after the fall of the Soviet Union.
The prototype would eventually re-surface in 2003 and 2006, this time with a 120mm gun – this was the Thunderbolt demonstrator, intended to piggyback on the War on Terror, since the U.S. Forces lacked a proper mobile firepower platform. But that’s neither here nor there – the important part was that the Thunderbolt was a direct descendant of the Armored Gun System program, which originated in the 1980s.
Let us, for a short while, return to the 1980s then, or rather to the end of that decade. In 1989, the U.S. military launched Operation Just Cause to depose Manuel Noriega, the leader of Panama, who had become very active in drug trafficking in the late 1980s and despite his ties to the CIA, he had outlived his usefulness. In this sense, the U.S. invasion of Panama was a clean-up operation and a police action with the Panamanian militias not being a match for the might of the U.S. Marines and the U.S. Airborne.
Armor-wise, 14 M551 Sheridan tanks were used in the operation with 10 air-dropped from low-flying C-130s at the Torrijos-Tocumen Airport shortly after its capture. Two were destroyed in the process. The other four Sheridans were transported to the area in secret a month prior to the operation.
These four took part in the attack on the Panamanian Defense Force HQ, also known as “the Comandancia”, and saw some of the toughest fighting in the operation. One of these four Sheridans was called “Airborne Thunder” and belonged to Company C of the 3rd Battalion, 73rd Armor Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. The tank survived the operation unscathed and would later participate in Operation Desert Storm before returning to the USA and finally being decommissioned. After its active service ended, it underwent a restoration process to make it look the way it did during Operation Just Cause and can now be seen at the U.S. Army Airborne and Special Operations Museum in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Now to bring those two stories together, our skin is based on the following premise: “What if the U.S. Airborne had been equipped with the Armored Gun System vehicles – in this case, the M8 – at the time of the Panama invasion?”
Naturally, this is all a bit anachronistic. The operation took place in 1989 while the first prototype was only unveiled in 1993. Furthermore, the 120mm version would appear a decade later. Perhaps the actual armor developers in the Armored Warfare universe were fast enough to make the vehicle appear four, five years earlier?
The truth is, in this case, we decided mostly based on player feedback. The Thunderbolt is a more popular vehicle than the Buford and we wanted to give you not only an interesting backstory, but also a practical skin that could be used on everyday basis.
As you can see, aside from improving its overall quality, we adjusted the Thunderbolt model with numerous smaller details. The tank now bears the standard 1986 NATO camouflage that was painted by the museum staff over the original sand color, since the actual Airborne Thunder Sheridan participated in Operation Desert Storm.
At places, you can see the original sand color shining through.
The gun proudly bears the name Airborne Thunder, with the tactical markings of the 82nd Airborne Division, 73rd Armor Regiment and 3rd Battalion painted on the lower frontal and rear plates of the vehicle.
The turret of the vehicle is covered with various ammo boxes and items belonging to its crew.
And, last but not least, .50cal anti-aircraft machinegun position is armored with extra anti-bullet plates, much like on the Sheridan.
With all that being said, only one thing remains to be explained – the name.
The tank is, of course, named after General Matthew Ridgway, the commander of, amongst many other things, the 82nd Airborne Division during the Second World War. But that’s not all there’s to it.
General Ridgway passed away in 1993, leading to some speculations that the next Light Tank for the Airborne would be name after him. This wasn’t the case and, to our knowledge, was never the plan, but, as it turns out, the source of these rumors was the notorious combatreform.org website, best known for Mike Sparks, a tireless crusader against the Stryker platform and a proponent of the M113 Gavin.
Despite the Gavin being an old running joke in western tank enthusiast circles, we find the whole meme endearing and the M8 Ridgway is as much a nod to combatreform.org, as it is to the bravery of General Ridgway.
We hope that you will enjoy the skin as well as the other items coming with it and, as always:

Swedish Bundle
Despite its neutrality, Sweden is one of the premiere arms manufacturers in the world and has a powerful standing army to boot. Even though the country is not a part of the NATO, much of its vehicle fleet is compatible with western tech and the country now operates the Leopard 2 MBT (under the name Stridsvagn 122) as well as several CV90 variants. This bundle includes several camouflages tied to Sweden as well as a special player title.
Swedish Urban camouflage (as seen on various CV90 prototypes)
Swedish Flag decal
Player title “Viking”
Finnish Bundle
Finland has a long and interesting history of unique relationships with its neighbors, especially with Russia. Its position of neutrality after the Second World War allowed it to buy the best from both worlds with both eastern and western vehicles used by its powerful military. This bundle includes a Finnish camouflage that will look great on your BMP-2s, T-72M1s and Leopards, a Finnish Armed Forces roundel decal as well as two player titles.
Unlike Sweden, Norway is a part of the NATO with its units regularly taking part in operations abroad. One of the elite units of the Norwegian military is the famous Telemark Battalion of Mechanized Infantry and this bundle includes two items tied to it as well as the Scandinavian camouflages used by Norway and a Norwegian base paint, as seen on a Telemark Leopard deployed to Estonia in 2017.
And last but definitely not least, we have Denmark, the army equipped with some of the best military hardware there is, including the Leopard 2A7DK Main Battle Tank. Aside from its simple but unique camouflage, this bundle contains a Danish player title, the Scandinavian base paint and a decal.
Player title “Thrice-Hearted” (referring to the Holger Danske legend)
Legacy Bundles
For this offer, we've added several bundles with older Premium vehicles with fixed skins with major discounts.
These bundles include:
Merc edition
Fox edition
Wolf edition
Black Eagle edition
Leopard 2AV Predator
Merkava Mk.2D Storm
BMPT Mod.2000 Sapphire
Please note that the skins on these vehicles cannot be removed.
Object 490
The Object 490 Main Battle Tank was an advanced concept from the waning days of the Soviet Union. Designed in the 1980s, it represented a radical departure from the MBT paradigm. Its distinct wedge-like shape, along with the fact that the crew was located in the back, offered unparalleled levels of protection. But the most interesting part of the design was its double suspension paired with two engines, allowing the vehicle to stay mobile even after suffering significant damage. However, the conclusion of the Cold War put an end to this design, along with many other advanced Soviet projects. You can learn more about this vehicle in our dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the Object 490 Tier 10 Premium MBT is perhaps the best armored vehicle in the game. It’s a true behemoth that is almost impossible to slow down, let alone knock out, and concentrated effort is required to stop one of these things when encountering them on the battlefield. The combination of extremely thick armor and a powerful 152mm gun makes this tank incredibly deadly, even though these advantages are balanced by its mediocre agility and the fact that its gun is only forward facing. This MBT is ideal for you if you prefer slow, methodical advances while dealing massive amounts of damage with each shot. If you keep your flanks secure, you’ll be all but impossible to stop.
The Object 490 MBT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.
BM Oplot
The Oplot is a heavily upgraded T-84 Ukrainian Main Battle Tank, which is based on an older design called T-80UD. It is currently the best tank the Ukrainian military industry can offer. You can read more about its history in our dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the BM Oplot is a Tier 9 Premium Main Battle Tank with a playstyle similar to the T-80U. Power-wise, it’s roughly on par with the T-90MS of the same Tier, but it has a very unique ability. Its advanced Duplet armor consists of several ERA layers, making it able to negate more than one HEAT shell impact. It takes several precise hits aimed at the same location to break through it, making it a very resistant vehicle on the battlefield.
M-95 Degman
The M-95 Degman is an advanced Croatian prototype MBT, developed during the 1990s and 2000s. It is based on the previous Yugoslavian project, the Vihor MBT, which in turn has its roots in the improved T-72M series produced in former Yugoslavia. You can read more about its history in a dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the tank is relatively fast and fairly agile while carrying some potent firepower for its Tier. In fact, its owners can choose from two powerful guns:
125mm 2A46 Russian-style smoothbore gun, known from many Russian MBTs
120mm CTG NATO-style smoothbore gun that you know from the Challenger 1 Falcon MBT
It’s worth noting that the 120mm shells have higher penetration values and the gun can also fire Falarick ATGMs while the 125mm gun has higher damage per shot. Both guns will feature good handling as well as overall performance to offset the vehicle’s weakness, which is its mediocre armor. The Degman must rely on its mobility and firepower to survive, making it an ideal vehicle for aggressive, daring players.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does it all work?
Simply put, you earn Battle Coins by completing missions and then spend them to raise your Battle Path level while earning Battle Path Premium vehicles, layer avatars, skins, decals and other goodies, including a reward tank with Premium status, the Tier 10 Stridsvagn 2000 MBT. You can also get other Premium vehicles as well.
What do I have to do?
You may simply play your battles as usual and earn Battle Coins to unlock the 50 available Battle Path levels, which contain exciting prizes, including 3 Premium vehicles. To boost your Battle Coin income, you can also complete special Missions.
The Battle Path campaign is divided into four paths (mission chains), each with its set of 6 or 5 missions. Additionally, two sets of tasks are also available:
Battle Coin missions (deal damage, destroy enemy targets and earn XP for Battle Coins)
Challenges (weekly tasks and an additional source of Battle Coin income)
All these extra missions only reward Battle Coins with two exceptions:
The final mission of each chain rewards you with a new camouflage called Scandinavian Ornament
The fourth (Elite) chain offers a number of CV90120 Ghost parts as a reward
Otherwise, all the Battle Path rewards (vehicles, skins etc.) are a part of the 50-level progression.
What are the Battle Coins?
The Battle Coins are a unique currency, required to advance through Battle Path levels. You can also spend Battle Coins on completing difficult missions without having to actually complete their requirements in the game. On the Battle Path screen, you can see your Battle Coin balance in the upper right corner.
How many levels are there?
There are 50 levels in total. For reaching Level 50, you will a reward tank with Premium status, the Stridsvagn 2000 Tier 10 MBT.
How can I start a mission chain (path)?
Three mission chains are available, as such:
Series 1 for Tier 3-10 MBTs
Series 2 for Tier 3-10 LTs and AFVs
Series 3 for Tier 3-10 TDs and SPGs
These chains are available right from the start and do not require an unlock token. The fourth mission chain, called Elite, is available only upon the completion of the previous three chains and contains CV90120 Ghost parts (blueprints). Elite missions can only be completed using Tier 8-10 vehicles.
Some missions require me to do things I do not understand, like Kill or Eliminate. Can you explain?
There are several goal categories included:
Kill/Destroy
Assist
Eliminate
Kill (or Destroy, which is the same thing) simply means you have to be the player who deals the finishing blow to the target.
Assist means that you have to be the player who deals the most damage to the target (save for killing it). There is no threshold – if player A deals 40 percent of all the damage to the target, player B deals 30 percent of all the damage done to the target and then player C deals the remaining 30 percent and kills it, player A will get the “assist”. Kill or assist requirements often come together, so you can either achieve a kill, or an assist and both will count towards your mission progress.
Eliminate means that you have to destroy the target AND, at the same time, be the player dealing the most damage to it. What that means is that, in the case described above, no player would achieve elimination. However, if two players dealt 30 percent of damage each and then another player dealt 40 percent of damage and killed the target, that player would achieve elimination.
How can I obtain Battle Coins?
There are several ways of obtaining them:
By completing Repeatable Battle Coins missions or Challenges
By completing missions from one of the three basic mission chains
By purchasing them or winning them in an official Armored Warfare event
By just playing
It’s worth noting that:
Special Battle Coin boosters can be obtained for Repeatable Battle Coin missions and for Battle Path level progression, increasing your Battle Coin income for two hours by 900 percent (these can also be saved for future Battle Paths)
Long queue waits are compensated by increased Battle Coin income
You will get Battle Coins for playing even without Battle Path access
The amount of Battle Coins for playing is calculated as such:
You’ll receive a fixed amount of Battle Coins (2 for PvE and GLOPS, 3 for PvP) for each minute of effective combat. Effective combat time is a new mechanic that counts only the time when you are active in battle (during or between the actions that contribute towards your team’s effort). The exact length will be rounded up for the purposes of rewards (eg. 41 seconds will be treated as 1 minute, 1:01 minute as 2 minutes etc.) and will be available on the results screen.
Like before, winning will multiply your reward (by 1.25 for PvE and GLOPS and by 1.5 for PvP) but you’ll also receive extra Battle Coins for being amongst the best players on the battlefield (4 for Top 2 in PvE, 5 for Top 5 in PvP and 10 for Top 5 in GLOPS).
How long will the campaign be available?
The Battle Path missions will be available for the duration of 3 months. The remaining time can be seen in the Battle Path window in the game.
What unique prizes can I look forward to for participating in the Battle Path?
The Battle Path level prizes include:
CV90105 TML Tier 7 Premium LT for unlocking Level 20
The standard Level progression also includes the Jomsviking skins. The three basic mission chains include unique camouflage for three environments. Other valuable prizes such as avatars and decals await you as well.
Can I complete the chain missions within a chain in any order?
No. You need to complete them in the order specified by each chain, one after another. It is, however, possible to complete a mission by spending extra Battle Coins. You can see which mission is currently active by visiting the Mission tab of the Battle Path window. The completed missions are marked with a green ticker and the missions that are yet to be unlocked are marked with a lock icon.
How many Battle Coins does unlocking each level cost?
Advancing to another level costs 50 to 1500 Battle Coins for Levels 1-10 and 4500 Battle Coins for Levels 11-50.
Can I see the progress of my missions in the game?
Yes, in the Battle Path window.
Can I complete more missions at the same time, or the next one only starts after the previous one is finished?
The next one only starts after the previous one is finished. You need to pick up your mission reward manually in the Battle Path window in order to activate the next mission. However, it is possible to have up to three missions active simultaneously and to complete them all in one battle (if their requirements do not prohibit you from doing so). It is also possible to complete a Battle Coin mission, a regular chain mission and a Challenge at the same time.
How do I know what vehicles to use and what modes to enter when completing a mission?
Each mission has its own set of requirements that are sometimes randomized. Mission requirements are stated in each mission’s description, above the mission’s text and main objective description. Please pay attention to the requirements such as Assist, Kill or Eliminate, as these all have different meanings (explained above).
When do I receive a prize that I win, for example by advancing by a level?
You will receive it automatically, within 30 minutes of you receiving it.
If I didn’t receive the reward I won fair and square, what do I do?
Please contact our support service.
What are Repeatable Battle Coin Missions?
There are three missions available:
Deal a certain amount of damage (each point of damage against player vehicles will count as five for the purpose of this mission)
Destroy a certain number of enemy vehicles (each player vehicle will count as five)
Earn a certain amount of net Experience
The cooldown of these missions is 72 hours. However, there’s a twist to them. Upon each cooldown, each of these three missions will also contain a randomly chosen set of conditions. For example, the Battle Path may ask you to deal damage while driving a Marat Shishkin Tank Destroyer, or a Sol Schreiber vehicle of any class.
What are Challenges?
Challenges (there will be ten of them in total) will open on weekly basis as the event progresses. Each Challenge requires you to do something (for example, deal 15.000 damage in PvE/GLOPS or 3.000 damage in PvP) and consists of ten stages, each more difficult than the last. The abovementioned Challenge opening will be server-based, so joining the Battle Path two weeks into it will allow you to start with two Challenges already unlocked.
What is the Shop?
The Shop Battle Path tab allows you to exchange the Battle Coins you don’t need for the actual Level progression for valuable items such as:
CV90120 Ghost parts
Credits
Boosters
Premium Time
Premium vehicles (including Tier 10 ones and those from the previous Battle Paths)
Commanders (including Ophelia Kitescu and Alisa Korhonen)
Epic skins
The items on offer are periodically renewed so every single offer set is available for a limited time only. Additionally, a manual re-roll is available for 300 Battle Coins. Aside from the Elite missions, the Shop is the only way you may obtain enough CV90120 Ghost parts to assemble the vehicle (you need 100 of those).
What is the Workshop?
The Workshop Battle Path tab will allow you to modify your Battle Path vehicles (including those from the older Battle Paths) with additional performance-enhancing or modifying modules that will be available for completing a certain number of Battle Path Missions (chain missions or Battle Coin missions) or Challenges.
These modules will become available only when you obtain the vehicle itself, although the completed missions and challenges from this Battle Path will count retroactively. With some effort, all these upgrades will be obtainable during the Northern Wind Battle Path but it is worth noting that if you don’t manage to do that, future Battle Path missions and challenges will count towards them as well.
On the 24th of June 2021, starting from 8:00 CEST (23rd of June, 11 PM PDT), the server will not be available for 5 hours due to the application of Update 0.36.8195

I rolled my eyes discreetly, but apparently not discreetly enough, as the act did not escape my gracious but somewhat irritating host, who reacted with a frown.
“Master Thorpe, you do not realize the scope, or, indeed, the very nature of things that will be asked for you. Surely you do understand we do not need anyone to show our people which side of the gun points where. The tasks you will face...”
He suddenly paused, closing his eyes as if to recollect himself, rubbing his fingers against forehead. I got the feeling he was about to reveal something he shouldn’t have, something important. Behind the cool veneer was a level of anxiety I did not expect. But these miniscule cracks in facade went as quickly as they came. As composed as ever, he continued:
“It takes far more than wielding a gun to be a man. A man, Master Thorpe, a true man that is, must be capable of anything and know a bit of everything. Wage a war. Compose a sonnet. Dress a wound. Cook a tasty meal. After all...”
Another pause.
“Specialization is for insects, not men.”
That was a nice dodge, I thought, as I refocused on the task with renewed vigor. There’s definitely much more to this contract that I thought. The mask slipped once, it would slip again. Perhaps I could use that to leverage my future salary. We’ll see. But one thing was for certain. This interview was almost over.
Commanders!
We’ve prepared an additional Prologue objective for you; one that can be solved easily, or can take you some time – your choice.
The launch of the Northern Wind Battle Path is imminent. Once that happens, the ability to earn Battle Coins by simply playing will become available even to those players, who do not have the access to the Battle Path.
The task is simple:
Obtain 2.500 Battle Coins until June 30, 2021 (should equal playing roughly 2 hours per day from the launch date until the end of Storyline Campaign’s Prologue)
Make a screenshot of your account with 2.500 Battle Coins
Additionally, if more than 30% of all players who complete the main Prologue objective complete this additional objective, an additional 10% negative difficulty modifier will be applied to the campaign (in other words, future episodes will become 10% easier).
Please note:
Please absolutely make sure to submit your screenshot to the proper form, you won’t be eligible for the reward
Only players who will have completed the main Prologue objective at the end of the Prologue episode can complete this objective
The reward in this case will be distributed after the end of the Prologue objective
To create a screenshot in the game, please press "Printscreen" and then click on the notification that will appear in the lower right corner to open the screenshot's folder
The final camouflage that’s coming as a part of the Scandinavian asset bundle is the Swedish Export one. This camouflage consists of a very complicated pattern devised by BAE to promote one of the latest iterations of the CV90 IFV, intended for the Czech Republic tender.
This version of the CV90, roughly similar to the CV90 Mk.IV we will have in the game, was presented in two configurations (with a manned turret and an unmanned one) under the name CV90CZ (and CV90CZr respectively) at the IDET 2017 expo in Brno. The Mk.IV version would later be derived from it.
Historically, the camouflage isn’t all that interesting aside from being quite the looker. Arms manufacturers always come up with attractive patterns that catch the eye of potential buyers during official events, making their vehicles look cool and futuristic. But we wanted to take the opportunity to demonstrate the difficulty of implementing such camouflages in Armored Warfare.
In its most basic form, Armored Warfare separates each camouflage pattern into tiles and each tile consists of four channels – three colors and a black overlay. The colors are the RGB channels and are internally marked red, green and blue, although each channel can be set to any color or even to appear transparent, in which case the vehicle’s base paint will appear in its stead. The black overlay is laid on top of them and can have as many shades of transparency as we want – even gradients, which we use to simulate “soft” camouflage edges.
What this means in practice is that while the system is robust enough for even rather advanced camouflage patterns, anything truly complex must be hand-painted, which is why some of the most desired camouflage patterns, such as the Japanese winter camouflage featuring white stripes, had to be implemented as skins (which typically are painted manually).
It’s also worth noting that texture mapping differs from vehicle to vehicle, which is why the same camouflage can appear different on various machines. In the case of historical camouflages, we do our best to make them fit the vehicles they were actually used on. In this particular case, that would be the CV90 Mk.IV.
In this case, we did our best to make the camouflage look like the original using all layers and transparency levels. It isn’t a perfect reproduction, but we believe that the pattern will still be attractive enough for you to consider using it. The camouflage will of course be available for all three environments.
For today’s offer, we’ve prepared a series of Battle-Hardened bundles for four Chinese progression MBTs, including the Type 99A2. These discounted bundles contain Gold as well as the Battle-Hardened status, which will turn your Progression vehicle into a semi-Premium one by increasing its Credit income, Experience income, and by improving its matchmaking quality so that you meet lower Tier opponents in battle than usual, much like Premium vehicles do.
The discounted Battle-Hardened bundles are available for the following vehicles:
Type 99A2 Tier 10 MBT (50% discount)
Type 99A Tier 9 MBT (45% discount)
Type 99 Tier 8 MBT (35% discount)
VT-4 Tier 8 MBT (35% discount)
Please note that if you do not own the vehicle in question, you will receive the Battle Hardened status price in Gold instead.
We hope that you will enjoy the offer and, as always:
With Update 0.36 deployed, the Special Operations mission “Famine” is now available with another piece of the Apocalypse season content coming soon – the Northern Wind Battle Path. Today, we’d like to offer you the opportunity to win the access to it in our newest contest.
As its name suggests, the goal is actually very simple – gather a full team of five players and beat the Famine Special Operation mission on as fast as you can. There will be two categories – one for Tier 7 vehicles and another for Tier 9 vehicles.
Here’s how you can participate:
Assemble a team of five players (you included) and form a platoon
Play the Famine Special Operation and record your time until June 22, 23:59 CEST
Submit the result (along with a replay of your attempt) to the dedicated contest channel on Discord (make sure you read the detailed rules below)
There will be two winning teams in this event (one per category – Tier 7 and Tier 9). Each winning team will receive the access to the Northern Wind Battle Path.
Please note:
Only one submission per team will be accepted
Team composition cannot change and are considered locked from the moment of the first submission
Any changes in composition of a locked team will lead to the affected submissions being disqualified
Individual players who are already locked in one team cannot participate in this contest as a part of another team, such an attempt will lead to the entire new team’s disqualification (when in doubt, team leaders are advised to make sure their members are not locked with another team already by checking the previous submissions)
Each team must elect its leader, who will be responsible for submitting any results (submissions from other team members will not be accepted)
Each submission must therefore include: Team Leader Name, Team Members, Result Screenshot, Result Replay (from any of the team’s members)
Should two or more teams achieve the same time, the earliest submission takes precedence
All submitted battles must take place between the publication of this article and June 22, 23:59 CEST
Players who own the access already (for example by having purchased it during the pre-order period) will receive 2.999 Gold instead
