Today marks the day when we’re releasing the biggest expansion of content for Conan Exiles to date: Isle of Siptah!
With it, we’re also releasing a big update aimed at re-balancing, fine-tuning and improving some of our game systems to make gameplay more enjoyable and visceral.
We’re overhauling the temperature system by changing how building and clothing pieces protect your characters against the weather conditions, as well as relaying that information in-game in a more consistent and straightforward way. We’re also aiming at re-balancing progression by tweaking experience and resource gains.
On the combat side of things, we’re also adding a few changes to make your actions matter more, adjusting how healing items are used. We are also improving PVP settings for servers, adding not only options for each day of the week (instead of the old distinction of only weekdays or weekends), but also a new dynamic building damage system to expand the possibilities of player versus player combat and raiding beyond what was possible before.
In this update, we are also adding the possibility to load custom maps! This opens up the modding possibilities for Conan Exiles, allowing modders and players to expand the playground with new, community-made custom maps. We can’t wait to see in which ways our modding community expands the game in new ways not possible before.
We have also bundled in many exploit fixes, many general fixes including one that aims to prevent offline deaths based on temperature changes, a toggle for camera shake as well as many fixes to improve followers and world NPCs alike.
These are exciting times for Conan Exiles, and we’re extremely grateful to have all of you along for the ride.
Thanks for your ongoing support and feedback, and stay safe!
Please remember that updates can mess with your installed mods. We recommend disabling all mods until each of them has been made compatible with this update.
Temperature system overhaul!
We have reworked how building pieces and clothing affect your character environmental protection, and also improved how temperature changes are relayed to you on screen. Gone are the soothing buff and insulation and temperature protection stats, and in come Heat and Cold protections and buffs. For more information on how this works, read here!
Progression re-balance
We have normalized experience and gathering gains across the board, and making them be the new default. For how this affects you, either if you play solo, in an official server or run your own private server, read here!
Combat and PVP changes!
We are changing how healing items are consumed and work to make combat more visceral and your actions more deliberate. PVP server settings have also experienced a facelift, with new customization options, as well as a new Dynamic Building Damage setting to customize offline raiding, or disable it altogether! For how this affects you, either if you play solo, in an official server or run your own private server, read here!

Conan Exiles: Isle of Siptah is an upcoming expansion which launches into Early Access on the 15th of September and will be the biggest update to Conan Exiles yet!
When you start playing the new expansion you create a new character stranded on the Isle of Siptah. The island is full of terrible new monsters, exciting locations and challenging features.
It also offers some unique benefits, the greatest of which may be the powerful rhinoceros mount and two brand new building sets. Every owner of the Isle of Siptah expansion can use the rhino mount and the two new building sets on both the Isle of Siptah and the Exiles Lands maps.
A crushing rhino charge!
You can capture and tame four types of the grey rhino not only to be your pets, but also to be your mount. Ride the rhino to explore the new landscape on the Isle of Siptah and to crush your enemies!
The rhino has two attacks. While sprinting you can hit enemies with the horn in a powerful charge and while running or standing still the rhino can use its horn for an active attack. The huge rhino horn hits quite a large area, so it can be especially effective when fighting several enemies.
Though the rhino is not quite as fast or maneuverable as the horse, it has more hit points, gains more hit points for each point of vitality it gains and can take more damage before it throws its rider. As you level up your rhino it can gain strong perks, like Meat Wall and Thick Hide, which add greatly to its combat effectiveness.
Spears and bows can be wielded from atop the rhino’s back and combined with the rhino’s brutal strength and defenses you can become quite the mobile weapon’s platform. With the rhino’s powerful charge, a good strategy could be to sprint towards your enemies while firing your bow, before ramming into them with the horn. Continuing the fight, you could swap to your spear and finish your opponent off with a combination of quick spear thrusts and attacks with the rhino’s horn.
You still have to be careful though, as the rhino is far from invulnerable, and it might not be as easy to escape strong enemies while on its back as it is while riding a horse. The Isle of Siptah is a dangerous place, and few places are truly safe, even for the mighty rhino.
Salvage shipwrecks to build your camp
There are two new building sets on the Isle of Siptah. The flotsam building set is tier one, but instead of requiring mostly stone as the tier one building set from the Exiled Lands, it instead requires mostly wood.
This is particularly handy as the beaches you start on in the Isle of Siptah expansion are littered with driftwood and shipwrecks. The flotsam building set uses the themes from the ships, with steering wheels for windows, rigging for fences and sails for roofs.
The roofs for the flotsam set are particularly striking, as the sails have several colors and there are some quite unique pieces, such as the rooftop cap and the wall cap, which use masts to create an exclusive ship look.
You will need a secure base on the Isle of Siptah and you can achieve added security by building in the all new Redwood forests. These massive trees can’t be cut down and grant 100% stability.
By building your foundations into the tree trunks they will grant the same stability as if built on the ground, and you can then build platforms all around the trees and connect them through either bridges or elevators. By using the flotsam building set, you can make your very own pirate town high up in the trees!
The majesty of Stormglass
The new tier three stormglass building set is one of the most spectacular looking building sets in all of Conan Exiles. It draws inspiration from some of the ancient structures on the Isle of Siptah. It has a unique look where it mixes stone with glass. The frame piece does not have a single window in the middle for example, like for most other sets, but instead has the whole piece made from glass.
Just like the arena building set from the Blood and Sand Pack, stormglass has a full set of vaulted ceiling pieces. This lets you build epic interiors and beautiful hallways. Another great feature with the stormglass set is that many of the pieces allow light to shine through, making towers, forts and castles look especially good when torches are placed inside the buildings, allowing light to illuminate the whole structure.
You can build unique buildings on the Isle of Siptah with these two building sets and take control of key locations to truly dominate this new landscape. But beware of building within the reach of the terrible storm which rages at the center of the island. Horrific monsters spawn within and will attack any structure they come across. Though there are times which you may want to face such horrors, as they may be one of the keys to unlocking the mysteries of the Isle of Siptah.
Conan Exiles: Isle of Siptah is an upcoming expansion, which launches into Early Access on the 15th of September, and the biggest update to Conan Exiles yet!
Stranded and shipwrecked on the Isle of Siptah you quickly realize that survival here will not be the same as in the Exiled Lands. Brand new challenges and features await.
Unlocking the secrets of the vaults, the maelstrom and the surge will be the key to the most valuable resource of all – human life. Mastering these new features will be the key to getting thralls on the Isle of Siptah.
The new features form a completely new game cycle for Conan Exiles and a new way to compete for dominance and precious thralls.
The Vaults of the elder races
Scattered throughout the landscape you can see ominous entrances to vaults. The remnants of the elder races dwell in these deep dungeons. Enter the vaults to explore dark tunnels, underwater caverns and ancient halls.
Solve puzzles to progress and uncover hidden treasures, all while fighting your way through fiends, demonic spiders, goblins, harpies and many more of the eldritch creatures that created these forgotten monuments.
Each vault was a receptacle for the power of an elder race. The vaults contain many treasures, such as items, recipes and knowledge of the cataclysm which befell the island in ages past, but the most valuable may be a new resource and a sigil of power.
The Maelstrom
The center of the isle is dominated by Siptah’s Tower and a terrifying portal looming above it. After arriving on the island you will bear witness to the brutal storm known as the Maelstrom. A swirling mass of destruction that explodes from the tower at semi-regular intervals, the Maelstrom is the power that fuels all conflict on the Isle of Siptah.
If you venture within the vast maelstrom and its circle of devastation you will attract horrors from the outer void. These unspeakable monsters flicker across the boundary between universes, which is thinnest when the Maelstrom rages. They are the mighty Lloigor, swarming Mi-go, terrifying Shaggai, hulking Kr'llyandian and many more. Building within the storm’s reach will also attract the monsters, and cause them to tear down your buildings, and the bigger you build the bigger monsters you will draw.
Though threatening and dangerous you want to seek out and destroy the horrors in the maelstrom, as they hold one of the keys to the many mysteries of the island.
The Surge
After a storm has passed, a mighty surge of power erupts from the Tower of Siptah. The tower lights up and a massive portal opens above it. Vicious tentacles emerge from the ominous portal, sowing terror in the hearts of all who are near.
Surges are the only source of thralls on the Isle of Siptah and you will need to defeat them in combat and break their will on the wheel of pain before they can serve as your fighters or crafters. There may be a way for you to use the dark power of the portal to your own advantage. Explore and master the secrets of the island and you will be able to take control of the surges and use them for your own benefit.
In you hunt for thralls and hunger to control the magical surges you must remember to protect yourself against other players, especially on PvP servers. Or perhaps you prefer to let others do the work for you, and instead attack ferociously after a rival clan has successfully controlled a surge and try to steal the thralls from under their noses?
Your choices will determine who will gain dominance over the Isle of Siptah. Who will have thralls to craft the most powerful recipes and who can call the most powerful warrior thralls to aid them in combat.
As you fight your way through the vaults, the storm and through the surges, one thing is for certain – Conan Exiles is more brutal than ever before!
Conan Exiles: Isle of Siptah is an upcoming expansion where you play a new character on the all new Isle of Siptah map. It launches into Early Access on the 15th of September and will be the biggest update to Conan Exiles yet!
Ripped apart by a violent and unnatural storm, the slave galley transporting you does not reach the Exiled Lands. You instead wash up on an unfamiliar shore amidst the ship’s wreckage, bruised and battered, but still alive…
Vultures circle above as you examine the wreckage strewn beach. A graveyard of ships, their skeletons bleaching in the tropical sun. And inland, an impossible tower, looming above the landscape, fills you with a sense of foreboding. You recall drunken sailors in the seaside taverns of Argos and their tales of a haunted isle off the coast of Stygia. Can this truly be the Isle of the Sorcerer – The Isle of Siptah?
Explore a vast island
The island stretches out before you, full of mysteries and dangers – but your first priority will be to survive. If you manage to overcome the challenges ahead, you might learn more of the enigmatic island, and eventually master the dark powers at play here.
The wreck strewn beaches are full of driftwood and loose planks. By salvaging the wood and gathering some stone, you should be ready to build your first camp using the new flotsam building set. Having a safe camp will be very important on the Isle of Siptah, as survival on the harsh island can be hard.
The vast island consists of several different environments. Mighty redwood forests cover the eastern side of the island. These massive trees can’t be harvested for wood, but they form excellent platforms for buildings. Making a settlement in the tall trees will give you extra protection against the wild and dangerous creatures who stalk the island, such as the monstrous Child of Gullah or the massive antediluvian elephant.
To the west you can find tall mountain peaks and deep valleys. These areas also offer very defensible positions if you build on the heights or find natural chokepoints in the terrain. The secluded little island of Threa, to the south west, can offer powerful defenses where steep mountains form a ring around Witcheye lake.
But you will be far from alone in this new wilderness. In the north of the island there is a camp of castaways where many have gathered, and you can buy some ale at the tavern. You can find Valeria of the Red Brotherhood here, who may share what she has learned of this inscrutable island.
Ancient ruins and dangerous dungeons
There are many ancient structures on the Isle of Siptah. Massive Acheronian ruins tower over the valleys in the west, and the remnants of a Stygian colony dominates the landscape in the east. Most of these ruins are the domain of the undead and wandering too close may be your undoing. Yet the lure of treasure always beckons…
Though these ruins only tell a small part of the history of the island. For there are far older structures here and they not only contain terrible secrets from ages past, but also still retain their function and bear witness to the presence of immense power.
You will discover entrances to deep vaults in many places on the island. These dungeons were constructed eons in the past, and the demons and fiends who dwell within have not forgotten the days of their glory.
Exploring each vault will be a perilous challenge. In the depths of the ancient halls you may not only find great treasures, new resources and artifacts of power, but you can also discover the history of the island and the builders who created the vaults.
There are many different vaults and many secrets to uncover. The history of the elder races is long and their treasuries vast. Exploring as many vaults as you can, may reveal the answers you seek.
The Tower of Siptah and the storm
It is impossible to miss the gigantic tower which looms over everything at the center of the island and the terrifying portal gaping ominously above it. Anyone who dare venture too close are filled with coldness and dread. Undead roam there in great numbers and they guard the tower zealously.
You have heard that the sorcerer Siptah has taken over the tower and sends out storms to crush the ships of those who fail to pay him tribute. But the secrets of the tower and the terrible storm which spawns around it may be even more evil than a Stygian sorcerer.
Old beyond reckoning, the tower, the portal and the storm exude an other-worldly and malevolent power. The storm builds slowly around the tower, picking up strength over time, resulting in a crescendo of destruction.
Though the power of the howling storm’s wind is terrifying, the full horror of this inhuman monstrosity is only revealed once you see the creatures from the outer void it spews forth. The Blood Moon Beast writhes across the ground on sickening tentacles and the Spider of Leng and Shaggai Huntress skitter with a multitude of clawed legs. The mighty Lloigor and Avatar of Bokrug crush those who oppose them with powerful claws.
As long as the storm rages, these unnatural monsters continue to spawn where ominous bolts of lightning strike the ground. Though it is tempting to flee from the creatures in horror, they may also be an integral part to understanding what is happening on the island.
There will be much to explore, learn and uncover on the Isle of Siptah. You must ready yourself and prepare for the challenges ahead. There are only two kinds of castaways on the island – those who are resourceful and those who are dead…

Separate TestLive Product on Steam We heard your input regarding the inconvenience with having to switch back and forth between the main game and our TestLive servers. To make it easier for you and because we really value your testing and feedback, we added a separate product for the TestLive server on Steam.
If you own Conan Exiles on Steam, you should now see a separate Product called “Conan Exiles - Testlive Client” in your library which gives you the option to install an additional instance of the game specifically for the TestLive servers. Please be aware that this will prompt you for a full additional installation.
We are aware that not everyone wants install or has space for two full installations. For those of you who don’t want to play through the additional TestLive Client, you can still access the TestLive servers through our old method.
As with our previous building contests, each one of you went above and beyond our expectations. The absolute creativity and skill you showed in making your vision of the Tower of the Elephant is nothing short of incredible.
