We released a patch 20 minutes ago that fixed some things and broke some other (more critical) things, so we released another one to fix the things we accidentally broke. We're moving the game assets that you download on initial install to a separate game server to try to free up some resources for the HoSG API server. This should help keep the game running quickly for everyone. Other server optimizations are also in the works.
