Discover all the changes, new features and bug fixes included in this update!
ANTAGONIST ORDERS MENU Historically one of the most requested new features, Antagonist orders are here, bringing a new dimension for players to master. This is a huge change for the Antagonist and Raider experiences, hop on the game and experience it by yourself!
- Antagonists have now their own communication menu to give orders to up to three AI soldiers.
- Available orders are can be either generic (available in all missions) or mission-related.
- Orders can be given or canceled anytime by the Antagonist, even while being dead and waiting for respawn.
ALEPH DEPOSITS As the third installment of this Aleph remake, we've removed the "invisible" presence of Aleph in Players and Elite Soldiers and made Aleph to appear physically on the map instead.
- Elite Soldiers and Players do not drop Aleph gems upon death unless they had Aleph in the first place.
- Players with 1 Aleph gem used to drop 2 Aleph gems when killed. This small incoherence has been removed.
- Aleph Gems spawn around the scenario, Players and Elite Soldiers will have to run for it if they want the Aleph.
- This helps further differentiate all missions
- All missions have been rebalanced around this. We expect drastic changes in how quickly some missions can be resolved and we'll keep an eye on that.
NEW TUTORIAL MISSION New players will now be introduced into the game with a quick tutorial mission that teaches the basic controls and lets them experiment a little bit with Aleph and the basic combat mechanics before jumping into action.
NEW LEVEL REQUIREMENTS TO UNLOCK MISSIONS With the advent of the Adventure system and then the New Rewards, we think the game will be better off if players are able to unlock missions much earlier than they could before.
- Decreased the level requirements to unlock new missions from 9/14/21/31/42/54/68/83/97 to 7/12/17/22/27/32/37/42/47
PROMOTIONAL CODES We've introduced a small new feature into the shop. At the top right hand corner you'll find a button to introduce a promotional code if you have one. We expect to be able to much better support content creators with this feature. And we've created a promotional code for everyone! Redeem the "MasterOfPuppets" code once the Master of Puppets update is out to receive some goodies (this key will expire on August 12th):
- FEROX IMPETUS Blueprint for Harec
- PEPPER POT Blueprint for Lycus
- VINC "EAGER" 23-1 Blueprint for Alicia
- O.SHTORM BV Blueprint for Konstantin
- 20000 Gold
REACTIVE SHIELDS Some characters in the game with high HP pools have been equipped with shields that react to damage being dealt to them too quickly.
- Dr. Kuzmann as seen in "In shock" and "Upside down"
- Schneider's Mech as seen in "Double agent"
- Uru Gal, the Second Protector as seen in "A Fistful of sand"
- Reactive shields' health degenerates by time as well as with the damage received.
PUSH MECHANIC REVAMPED The push mechanic has taken away too much interactivity from the game. It's great that players can toy with the AI enemies with it but we're not happy with how it removes skill and choice when it's used in PvP.
- Players can now dodge while they're being pushed.
BLUEPRINT DROP CHANCE Extra chances for having lost the previous roll have been increased from 10% to 40%
MISSION BALANCE IN MEDIAS RES
- Increased non-turret shields' health points (+500%)
THE MOUSE AND THE SNAKE
- Changed Regenerator Beholder's life regeneration: Instead of constantly regenerating its life, it now only regenerates up to 5% of its total life pool for a few seconds after it received damage.
CHARACTER BALANCE Rak
- Rak's pishachas cannot target enemies that are too close
Schneider
- Schneider's maximum HP sets to 70 while his drone is deployed.
Doldren
- When Doldren detonates Patient Boy's mines in spirit form, his materializing bar is fully filled.

Sööma is the newest and one of the most anticipated characters on Spacelords. Learn how the MSE team developed a piece of concept art into a full character in conjunction with dutch actress, model and singer Stefanie Joosten, who lent her image and voice to bring Sööma to life:
Independent development studio MercurySteam announced today that the newest character to join its Free to Play game Spacelords, Sööma, is available today. This valiant and devoted warrior-priest has been developed in conjunction with Dutch actress and model Stefanie Joosten, who lent her image and voice to bring Sööma to life.
Sööma is part of the ancient and secretive Algia Creed, a Martian Cult devoted to ease the suffering of those in need, and joined the ill-fated expedition to the Broken Planet to bring the word of their deity, the Great Red Worm Fëhb, to the far reaches of the galaxy. After joining the Umbra Wardogs faction, Sööma soon grew disenchanted by the greed and ruthlessness that fueled the Human colonization of the Broken Planet, and decided to seek out and join the resistance: the infamous Raiders.
“It was a fascinating endeavor working on a character like Sööma,” commented Stefanie Joosten. “When MercurySteam approached me with the idea of working on a new Raider for Spacelords, Sööma was just a piece of concept art, and developing that concept into a full character, with her own unique personality and ethos, is a very rewarding experience indeed”.
“Developing a new character is always a complex subject,” added Enric Álvarez, Game Director. “The need to create a well-adjusted and fun new addition to a Free to Play game like Spacelords needs to be balanced with an attractive design and likeability of the character. Stefanie’s natural charisma and talent contributed to a smoother and enjoyable creative process.”
Many people have been affected by a bug in the conversion from faction points to talent points in the latest patch. There's two different consequences of this bug:
- Some players were unable to gain Talent Points
- Some players got no Talent Points when we calculated the conversion from Faction Points
We've identified the problem causing this behaviour, and we're working on fixing the issue. Unfortunately, the process for reinstating the lost Talent Points requires recovering old backups and working with big data files. The definitive fix won't be ready until next week. We appreciate the patience of those affected. Rest assured that, when the fix arrives, all Talent Points will be accounted for. - Talent Points that you gained in the past or gain in the future will be there when the fix arrives, regardless of whether they were properly added up to your wallet or not at the time.
- Talent Points you had before the last patch arrived will be reinstated as well.
Independent development studio MercurySteam announced today a special stream reveal with actress and model Stefanie Joosten, for an exciting first look to the character Sööma.
Sööma is the newest character to join the ranks of Spacelords, and Joosten has lent her voice and acting talents to bring this holy warrior to life. Tune in to Spacelords’ official Twitch channel on July 12, 17:00 GMT+2 and join in the conversation with Stefanie and the MercurySteam developers to find out more details about this eagerly awaited character, including Sööma’s release date.
It's been one week since we released the latest update and we're ready for some tweaks. Rewards system strongly modifies player behaviour, we are rolling out these changes for now and we'll keep on closely monitoring the results.
EXPERIENCE POINT REWARDS
New players have barely felt the effect of the daily XP cap. Experienced players, however, should have more options about how and when to play Spacelords than they do now.
- Tier 5 players now do get some XP in all matches after their fifth match (0-200)
- Tier 4+ players get some more XP in all matches after their fifth match (0-400)
BLUEPRINT REWARDS
Our intention when we designed the new system was giving players more freedom when choosing their next mission while not impacting their average resource income. We vastly miscalculated the amount of Blueprints that would be earned each day. We're increasing the amount of Blueprint appearances:
- Tier 6 players will see two Common Blueprints on their reward sequence every day.
- Tier 5 players will always see one Blueprint on their reward sequence every day (with a 20% probability of being a Rare Blueprint).
- Tier 4 to Tier 2 players will always see one Blueprint on their reward sequence every day (with a 25% probability of being a Rare Blueprint).
- Tier 1 players will see one Blueprint on their reward sequence every day (with a 33% probability of being a Rare Blueprint).
FORGE
A couple mistakes slipped through when we rescaled the forge levels and have now been fixed:
- Building weapons at level 2 had a higher Gold cost than intended
- Forge levels were not unlocking as many points as they should.
MATCHMAKING
The system was erroneously creating 3 bot matches with a random pattern. This has now been fixed.
KNOWN BUGS
- When you hit an engineer hacking a console in "Double Agent", the hack will automatically be completed.
- In "Mind Over Matter", the "Interact" marker at the central tower is not showing up.
We are happy to announce Sööma is finally being released on July 16th! This brand-new character is played by talented actress Stefanie Joosten, who has lent her image and voice talents to this member of the Umbra Wardogs faction.
Sööma was born in the Cydonia region, on distant Mars, as part of a seclusive cult devoted to helping those who suffer pain and oppression. She joined the ill-fated expedition to the Broken Planet as a rite of passage into her Order’s senior echelons. But the terrible reality of the war raging over the Broken Planet will put her beliefs and natural kindness to the test.
Are you ready to feel the power of the Great Red Worm?
