It's been one week since we released the latest update and we're ready for some tweaks. Rewards system strongly modifies player behaviour, we are rolling out these changes for now and we'll keep on closely monitoring the results.
EXPERIENCE POINT REWARDS
New players have barely felt the effect of the daily XP cap. Experienced players, however, should have more options about how and when to play Spacelords than they do now.
- Tier 5 players now do get some XP in all matches after their fifth match (0-200)
- Tier 4+ players get some more XP in all matches after their fifth match (0-400)
BLUEPRINT REWARDS
Our intention when we designed the new system was giving players more freedom when choosing their next mission while not impacting their average resource income. We vastly miscalculated the amount of Blueprints that would be earned each day. We're increasing the amount of Blueprint appearances:
- Tier 6 players will see two Common Blueprints on their reward sequence every day.
- Tier 5 players will always see one Blueprint on their reward sequence every day (with a 20% probability of being a Rare Blueprint).
- Tier 4 to Tier 2 players will always see one Blueprint on their reward sequence every day (with a 25% probability of being a Rare Blueprint).
- Tier 1 players will see one Blueprint on their reward sequence every day (with a 33% probability of being a Rare Blueprint).
FORGE
A couple mistakes slipped through when we rescaled the forge levels and have now been fixed:
- Building weapons at level 2 had a higher Gold cost than intended
- Forge levels were not unlocking as many points as they should.
MATCHMAKING
The system was erroneously creating 3 bot matches with a random pattern. This has now been fixed.
KNOWN BUGS
- When you hit an engineer hacking a console in "Double Agent", the hack will automatically be completed.
- In "Mind Over Matter", the "Interact" marker at the central tower is not showing up.
We are happy to announce Sööma is finally being released on July 16th! This brand-new character is played by talented actress Stefanie Joosten, who has lent her image and voice talents to this member of the Umbra Wardogs faction.
Sööma was born in the Cydonia region, on distant Mars, as part of a seclusive cult devoted to helping those who suffer pain and oppression. She joined the ill-fated expedition to the Broken Planet as a rite of passage into her Order’s senior echelons. But the terrible reality of the war raging over the Broken Planet will put her beliefs and natural kindness to the test.

Independent development studio MercurySteam launched today Prizes Galore, the new game update for its free to play shooter Spacelords. This latest expansion includes new features that will improve the players’ experience, like the new daily rewards or the addition of a new gameplay feature: the Aleph Drop System.
With the arrival of Prizes Galore, players will be able to queue for any mission they wish for since rewards are no longer mission dependent. This gives the matchmaking system more flexibility, and offers more freedom to the players when choosing the mission they wish to play.
The biggest change, however, introduced by the Prizes Galore update is that players will no longer lose any rewards when they fail a mission, as they will now be stored in the Accumulated Pot. They will have a second chance to get them the next day they play.
But the Prizes Galore update also introduces a very important change in a gameplay mechanic, with the Aleph Drop System. Players will now have the option to drop the Aleph energy they obtain during the game. These Aleph Gems could then be picked up by other players, or be triggered to explode, giving players a wider range of tactical options.
“The main goal of the Prizes Galore update is to provide players with more flexibility to play Spacelords,” commented Enric Álvarez, Game Director. “All the changes included in this update have been designed based on the feedback obtained from our loyal community, who desired to receive more incentives and rewards for playing the game regularly, as well as a more optimized matchmaking system.”
As you know, we'll reach the fourth milestone in the Spacelords Roadmap very soon, so it's time to announce a new feature included in the Prizes Galore update: the new Aleph Drop System!
Watch the latest Inside Spacelords video along with Community Manager Karen Hernández and discover all the things you will be able to do with Aleph when the update is out!
We recently announced the next update included in the Spacelords Roadmap, Prizes Galore, will be available on July 2, so today we are introducing one of the biggest features arriving along with this update: the new Mission Rewards!
When the update is out, rewards will no longer be mission dependant. This means players will be able to queue up for as many missions as they desire, speeding up matchmaking and improving the experience for everyone.
But we have also implemented another feature: The Accumulated Pot! Check the new Inside Spacelords video with Community Manager Karen Hernández to learn all about these features!
It’s been less than a month since we announced the arrival of the Team-Up or Die update, so we believe it’s time to set an official date for the next milestone in the Spacelords Roadmap: Prizes Galore!
