Spacelords - TENKA

The Versatile is a mortar launcher capable of storing and firing two different types of mines. Once with the Raiders, Ayana borrowed some H0-D healing nanobot capsules from Dr. Kuzmann. She used them to create “mines for cabin boys” devices that release these small robots when they explode to heal allies. Ayana chose these mines for the Versatile's secondary shot, making it a highly adaptable weapon to different situations.

Spacelords - TENKA

It's already been two weeks since the Spacelords release! The focus up until now has been mostly addressing bugs and stabilizing the system for the massive influx of new players. Today we're releasing a small server-side patch, however a bigger client-side patch is coming later to tackle some deeper issues.

Missions
The new Council Apocalypse campaign released a bit too strong. We've adjusted difficulties from our end, but mission duration will still be longer than expected for a while.

Blueprints
Common Blueprints now require a victory to obtain. If you lose the match, you won't be able to roll for the Blueprint, but it won't disappear from the mission rewards either.

Antagonist experience
Increased the Antagonist experience gains by 15%

Base gold rewards
Base Gold rewards have been increased by 10% across the board

Crafting prices
We've lowered crafting costs for Common Blueprints at the lower forge levels.

- Forge 3 craft costs decreased from 6000 to 4000 Gold
- Forge 4 craft costs decreased from 12000 to 10000 Gold
- Forge 5 craft costs decreased from 17000 to 15000 Gold
- Forge 6 craft costs decreased from 21000 to 20000 Gold

Raider prices
Slightly lowered Shae's recruiting cost from 34000 to 32000 Gold

Bug fixes
- Fixed a bug specific to the Portuguese language that was locking the main menu
- Various rare game crashes have been fixed as well

Dr, Kuzmann's "Surgeon" skin is now avilable to purchase in Spacelords!

Fed up of reanimating corpses only to start behaving by their own instincts, Dr. Kuzmann decided that his gift of un-life would come at a price. The subjects would come back to life, but their will would be forever subjugated to that of the Council. To that end, he emptied the bodies, exchanging veins for cables, and organs for microchips and high-frequency transmitters.

As he perfected his technique, Kuzmann started to try new configurations. Eyes replaced by high-definition cameras, Gatling guns where an arm should have been, shoulder-mounted missile pods… That’s how Dr. Pavel Kuzmann devised his Slave Units program; reanimated corpses with “on demand” mods, controlled by the Fifth Council Elite units.

Spacelords’ 4th Campaign, Council Apocalypse, Also Available Today.

Spacelords is now available as a Free to Play game for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Steam and Windows10. Also available today is the game’s epic fourth campaign, Council Apocalypse, which closes Spacelords’ first story arc.

“Launching Spacelords as a F2P game is a titanic endeavor for an independent studio like MercurySteam,” comments Enric Álvarez, Spacelords Game Director. “Working on all the changes the fanbase wanted and producing four lengthy campaigns at the same time is a testament to MercurySteam’s continued commitment to Spacelords and its loyal community, and this is only the beginning - we already have plans for adding a wealth of new content to the game in the following months.”

Any player can now join this epic sci-fi adventure and choose sides: As Raiders, they will fight their way through four huge and thrilling cooperative campaigns and liberate the fabled Broken Planet from the invading factions. But beware of the Antagonists: players who have thrown their lot in with the enemy and whose sole objective is to ruin the Raiders’ missions.

With the transition to a F2P business model, Spacelords has undergone a total redesign of its progression system to accommodate both veteran and new players alike. When entering the game for the first time, new users will access one of the four available campaigns and play it to completion before accessing the next one. Along the way, they will recruit and customize the most dangerous outlaws, rogues and renegades the galaxy has to offer with over 70 unique weapons and over 500 Character Cards to customize to their preference.

Raiders of the Broken Planet veterans will keep all the progress and ingame currency they have unlocked so far, and players who have invested in one or more campaigns will be compensated with one exclusive Elite Skin for each campaign they have purchased*.

“We are extremely grateful to the loyal fans who have supported the game so far,” adds Álvarez. “Spacelords is now a much better game and that is thanks to the valuable feedback from our community. The emotional 4th Campaign Launch Trailer is MercurySteam’s sincere homage to those fans.”

Witness a new game being reborn today. Spacelords is available now as a new and exciting Free to Play gaming experience for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Steam and Windows10. MercurySteam will steadily add new content, including characters, weapons and skins in the following months.

Spacelords is almost upon us! Today, we share the patch notes with the community, detailing all the changes and adjustments you will find when you log in the game on August 23rd, 10:00 am CET.

So, what's new?

COUNCIL APOCALYPSE!

The fourth and final campaign of Spacelords’ first season is finally here. Join Harec and his Raiders in their fight for the fate of the Broken Planet.

- 4 new missions and a new playable character from the Fifth Council, Valeria.

NEW REWARD SYSTEM

This is, by far, the most demanded change from our community. Taking all the feedback we have received into account, we've totally redesigned the reward system!

- Rewards are no longer be shared, each player gets their own rewards.
- The Blueprints are no longer tied to a specific mission.
- Rewards are now randomly distributed across all missions and rotate after a set period of time.
- Aequilibrium Leagues are correlated with the new reward system. Players on the same league see the same reward distribution.
- Some missions have special one-time rewards in each rotation.
- Some rewards have special conditions to match, such obtaining a minimum score or achieving victory streak.
- When said condition is met, the reward is given to the player. More special rewards will appear after a while.
- XP Boosts can now be obtained as a reward.

ANTAGONISTS

Stumbling across one of the Uras-Beherit's minions is what make SpaceLords unique. Playing as one of them, however, requires a bit more experience than playing as a Raider.

- Antagonist mode requires players to reach level 10 to unlock.
- Antagonists can choose to queue for missions separately.
- Antagonist rewards are the same as the Raiders'.

PROGRESSION
All four campaigns are now free-to-play and we've overhauled the progression through the story accordingly.

- Missions now have a level requirement to be unlocked.
- Players must complete a campaign before they can choose another one.
- Weapons no longer need Raider or Antagonist affinity to be built.
- Shae, Loath and Ayana are now unlockable characters.

Character levels and prices have been completely redistributed. Here's a quick look at some of the most relevant changes with which to make an informed decision before release:

- Dr. Kuzmann's price reduced from 30000 to 20000 gold
- Mikah's price reduced from 120000 to 76000 gold
- Ginebra's price reduced from 180000 to 108000 gold
- Doldren's price increased from 45000 to 180000 gold
- HIVE's price reduced from 60000 to 52000 gold
- Iune's price increased from 90000 to 180000 gold

NOTE: Overall character prices are still bound to a maximum of 180000 gold.

- Level requirement to enter the Aequilibrium increased from 4 to 11.
- Level requirements to unlock Faction Cards decreased from 5/8/11 to 4/7/9
- Level requirement to unlock Faction Cards' shuffle increased from 12 to 13.
- Level requirements to unlock Character Cards decreased from 18/28/34 a 15/17/19.
- Level requirement to unlock Character Cards' shuffle decreased from 42 to 26.
- Faction Points needed to draw a new Character Card decreased from 2400 to 1200.
- Faction Points needed to shuffle increased from 3000 to 4800.
- Faction Points needed to lock a Card reduced from 12000 to 800.
- Some Cards' levels and ordering have been redistributed.
- Forge levels' points and costs have been redistributed.

MATCHMAKING 3.0

Matchmaking system has been updated with new features that will improve the quality of service.

- A new antagonist filtering-by-region feature has been implemented.
- Backend performance has been improved. It can now process more match queues at the same time and reduces the necessity to split backends when demand is high.
- A new system to choose hosts has been implemented.
- A new “no-re-click” system has been implemented. Some players were inadvertently resetting their waiting times when reconfiguring their queues.

MENTOR MATCHES
Veterans and newcomers playing alongside in the same match is an unavoidable occurrence. Sometimes it's a necessity of region or MMR matchmaking, sometimes people just form squads in that way. A smooth first-time playing experience is very important for new players and the Spacelords community as a whole. When these matches do happen, we want to make sure the veterans are properly motivated and rewarded for their time.

- Veterans who play with new players will receive a 20% experience bonus at the end of the match.

SKIN PRICES

We want to make sure there's quality purchases for all types of users, and there is currently a big price gap between 500 and 1000 Mercury Points, so we're reducing some skin prices to better cover that gap.

- Lycus: Space Biker price reduced from 900 to 850 Mercury Points.
- Konstantin: Unit CH-041 price reduced from 990 to 680 Mercury Points.
- Hans: Heaven's Bane Soldier price reduced from 590 to 500 Mercury Points.
- Mikah: Space Mechanic price reduced from 1100 to 950 Mercury Points.

NEW SKIN!
- Schneider Remote Unit "4N3SK4" skin now available.

BUG FIXES

- Fixed a bug where players could lose the mission 'Short-Fused' by destroying the extractor.
- Fixed a bug where players could see their own clones in 'The Enemy Within' and could not get rid of them.
- Fixed a bug where difficulty was not correctly calculated in some matches.
- Various issues related to spawn points have been fixed
- Several crashes have been fixed.
- Collision fixes throughout all levels.
- Several performance improvements have been made.

Patient Boy Gun - The Blueprint for this weapon can be found in the In Media Res mission.

Doldren was always fond of flare guns. After all, every time one of his enemies used one to summon reinforcements, new victims never failed to arrive. For that reason, Doldren kept the flare gun from one of his last Umbra Wardogs kills -that had been a particularly exciting murder, breaking the neck of the unwholesome brute with his bare hands.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xtcvveb01pk&t=0s&list=PLZu6I4jwZ_QRRWugjJg674TObn0U5IgH6&index=2
But Doldren soon discovered that using the gun himself spoiled all the fun, as he loved to see the desperation growing in his enemies’ eyes as they frantically called for help. But he didn’t discard the gun entirely, but attached its barrel to his revolver and loaded it with mines instead of flares.

Prisoner of the Pit of Repudiation:
There is a place on the Broken Planet that is only spoken about in hushed, fearful tones. A place built with sorrow and shame, as much as with iron and concrete. This place is home to the lost and the vile, those extremes cases who cannot ever be redeemed. This prison is called the Pit of Repudiation, and those who enter its gates are never to return…

But the Human invasion changed even that immutable truth. As their last act of desperation and spite, the gaolers unleashed the most dangerous prisoner ever to enter the Pit against their Terran killers. Doldren, still carrying the sacred Dagan stones bolted into his flesh, was free to satiate his insatiable bloodlust once again.
