Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Definitive Edition - Larian_Octaaf
Hi everyone,

First of all, thank you to everyone who has given feedback and notified us of any in-game issues.

Since the release of the Divinity Engine 2, we've noticed some problems with the editor that requires an update of both the game and our mod creation tool.

The update to the game fixes the following:
  • A crash related to launching and immediately joining a game
  • Issues with four active characters in arena combat
  • Issues with using waypoints and texture streaming
  • Adventures without Origin characters are now supported
  • Stability improvements for custom models and levels
The update to the editor - Divinity Engine 2 - has the following:
  • General stability improvements
  • Improved interactivity of interaction modes (e.g. terrain paint/flatten/etc.)
  • A tool to retroactively fix the source paths of imported custom resources and texture atlases
  • Fixes to the importing of several stat files from classic projects (this requires a new import)
  • Corrected double-clicking in game mode
  • No more offsets between interaction mode previews and your mouse location
  • The rotate gizmo doesn't clip behind objects anymore
  • Every level now has a functioning default dummy in the editor for testing
  • Corrected the icons in the Root Template Browser to match the item type
  • Quest properties now import over from classic projects (this requires a new import)
  • Show/Hide gizmo buttons now work as intended
  • Click+drag selection now properly highlights the selection box

Hi Everyone,

We have sent out a hotfix for the following issues:
  • Added a Definitive Edition tag to GM campaigns published in the new version since they are not compatible with Classic Edition.
  • Fixed a blocking issue related to saving or opening menus right before a companion initiated a dialog with you. Loading the save would block the player.
  • Fixed a crash related to status change and loading a save
  • Fixed a crash related to changing equipment (when switching characters in character creation for example)
  • Fixed an issue with the meat golems in Fort Joy Castle. They now correctly attack their prison doors again
We apologize for any inconvenience these issues may have caused. Please keep reaching out to us via forums or support if you are still having issues with the game.

Thanks,

Larian Crew

Hello everyone!

We have been watching the problems coming in, and have tried to address a couple of the issues some of you have been experiencing.

We have updated the game with a hotfix that should make the game more stable.

Now onward to divine glory!

Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Definitive Edition - DeathKnight
Hello!

You have probably noticed a big update that came to Divinity: Original Sin 2. The big update is the Definitive Edition that was added.

People that have bought Original Sin 2 when it came out, get this for free. It is an optimized, revised, rebalanced version of the game, with a couple of new features, overhauled Arena mode, better UI, better journal, rewritten dialogues, and much more.

If you would like to know what exactly "much more" is, we have tried to document it here, in over 50 pages: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1IcADAJsLeHHXYjCnR5MwCm9GTWRdKzRtIYcCqO_RI6U/edit

If you are now wondering what version to choose, Classic or Definitive, it's easy:

- If you have a game or a GM campaign in progress in Classic mode, start up Classic mode and continue there. Savegames from the Classic game are not compatible with Definitive Edition. If you ever feel like rolling a new character, please come over to the Definitive Side when you're ready.

- If you are new to Original Sin 2, or if you were only a couple of levels in on classic, start up the Definitive Edition.

- If you have already finished the Classic version a dozen times and you're a champion in the classic arena, give the Definitive Edition a go :) What harm is there in rolling one. More. Character.

We hope you enjoy this new game version and are excited to read about what you think.

For those of you wondering:

- the editor is coming out in a few days
- mods created for classic are incompatible
- HDR mode will be added later on as well

Don't worry, we're on top of it, and working together with modders to make popular mods available and convert them over to definitive edition. We're also watching the forums to help out where we can, and address some early issues that were identified. So we're not done yet.

Enjoy the game!

Hi everyone,

We've released a small hotfix that addresses Shriekers becoming invisible for some people with mods.

They are now targetable again and still as dangerous to the Sourcerers as before.
