Early Access release marks an important milestone in a journey that has spanned over two years and half, filled with dedication and hard work. Creating Vorax has been a labor of love and commitment. We have faced numerous challenges and obstacles. We've had intense development cycles and had to overcome various technical issues or limitations. Not to mention a big reshuffle in the team that took place last year due to that we decided to rewrote all core game code from scratch. Throughout it all, our motivation has been to deliver a game that meets the high standards we set for ourselves and that our community expects. However this is only the first step.
Delay :
We want to apologize and address the delay in our initial launch plans. This decision was not made lightly. Our guiding principle has always been to prioritize quality over profits. We believe in taking the time to do things right, even if it means making difficult decisions along the way.
We received valuable feedback from Valve and several trustworthy community members and content creators. Their insights highlighted areas where Vorax could benefit from additional polish. While we felt the game was ready for Early Access release, we recognized the importance of making a strong first impression. An Early Access launch on Steam is a significant event, and we want to ensure that Vorax is as polished as possible for this crucial moment.
We took the occasion to introduce at last second two much requested features like:
headbob removal ( now it is disabled by default )
multiple shotgun shells
and we are working to re-introduce our 'vintage' orange HUD in a couple of days this week.
Our goal is to exceed your expectations and deliver a game that truly stands out in the survival horror genre.
Current Status and Future Plans:
The Early Access launch of Vorax is just the beginning. The game has already a lot of content , but with your help with will grow even more. We are committed to continuously improving and enhancing the game based on your feedback. Our roadmap includes regular updates, new content, and ongoing refinements to ensure that Vorax evolves and improves over time.
Over the next few months, we have several key updates planned to expand and enrich your experience with Vorax, just to remind you a few key locations: The School, Electric Central, Sanctuary, Olive Factory and more. New Weapons, New Features and Improvements, expect various enhancements and optimizations to improve gameplay and performance.
Closing reminder:
Engage with the new content as it becomes available, thoroughly test all features, and report any issues encountered.
Your feedback is crucial to refining these updates and ensuring the best possible experience.

We're excited to announce that "Vorax" is just one week away from releasing in Early Access on July 18th. To celebrate this milestone, we released a new teaser trailer that encapsulates the essence of the game.
The journey to this point has been one of relentless effort, passion and dedication. Over the past three years, our team has poured blood, sweat, and tears into finding the perfect balance between survival and horror mechanics. We hope we have succeeded, we will submit to your judgment and we will always try to improve during Early Access. Furthermore, from an artistic point of view we have always followed our vision and are immensely proud of the monster designs, and we sincerely hope that players enjoy all of these elements as much as we do.
Early Access and Beyond
As we embark on this early access journey, we are committed to continually updating and improving "Vorax." Our goal is to add tons of new content over the next year, with the aim of crafting the best survival horror experience out there. Your feedback will be invaluable in shaping the future of the game, and we look forward to evolving and enhancing the world of "Vorax" together with our community.
We would never have made this release without the support of our community and all Indiegala users that loved our website and our games. Thanks to everyone who supported us and will support us. Thank you on behalf of the entire Indiegala team.
As we move into the final phase before the early access release of "Vorax," scheduled for July 18th, it is crucial to brief you on the latest developments and newly integrated content. This bulletin will cover enemy updates, new playable areas, and additional weapons.
Among the new threats identified on the island are the Spitflowers, a particularly dangerous form of infected flora. These plant-based adversaries are a grotesque hybrid of vegetal and human DNA. Though the exact origins of Spitflowers are shrouded in mystery, it is known that a scientist with a dark sense of humor was responsible for their creation. This scientist was infamous for his eerie laughter, and it seems his creations have inherited this trait, as they can sometimes be heard screaming and laughing in the night. These abominations discharge toxic projectiles, posing a significant threat to anyone within their range. Engage with caution and neutralize them from a distance where possible. It is important to note that Spitflowers are not an isolated mutation; much of the island's flora has been similarly infected, creating an environment where even the vegetation is hostile.
A new formidable enemy has also been identified: the Carapx Boss. This heavily armored behemoth requires tactical precision and specialized weaponry for engagement. Its resilient exterior makes it a high-priority target that should not be underestimated.
In terms of exploration, several new areas have been made accessible. The School, a strategic location equipped with a secret military vault, demands both combat readiness and investigative skills. The Electric Central, a critical infrastructure zone, is essential for restoring power to the island and enabling further exploration. The Olive Factory introduces complex machinery and processing equipment, offering opportunities for resource gathering and tactical engagements. Lastly, the Sanctuary, a historical site now compromised, provides strategic vantage points but is fraught with hidden threats. Our arsenal has been significantly expanded to meet these new challenges. Sticky Bombs, designed for precision placement, are effective against heavily armored enemies and strategic targets. Organic Bait Traps lure and incapacitate mutants, providing versatile options for both offensive and defensive strategies. Additional weapons have been integrated to ensure tactical versatility; detailed operational manuals will be provided upon acquisition.
This extensive content update will be part of the "Vorax" early access release on July 18th. Operatives are expected to familiarize themselves with the new threats, environments, and tools to maximize mission success. Stay vigilant and prepared. Further instructions will follow as we approach the release date.

The latest Vorax Halloween update brings many improvements, fixes and new features, bringing horror to a new light!
Light being one of the vital elements when surviving on the island, since most enemies are photosensitive, the lighting effects were improved.
The darkness of the night can hide some horrible secrets. If you run out of battery, the moon and the stars are your only guide. But also fog! So beware, horrible creatures can jump out from fog....
Storms can be unforgiving, reducing visibility with just brief flashes of light brought by lightnings will help you navigate the landscape.
We updated both FULL and DEMO version to 0.6.1 Major update details: - Total overhaul of weather and atmospherics effect - added fog and thunderstorms - added rain particles, dust particles, wet and dust effects - added volumetric fog - added markers in-game missions - added compass - added marker and compas to car and landmark objectives - dozens of new playable locations ( in full build ) - dozens of bugfixes

While you’re checking the video out, be sure to head over to IndieGala or Steam to play the new Vorax alpha 0.3, which is still available for a limited time
“Bilial-Like” Creatures Stalk the Night
There are more dangerous things than simple zombies that lurk in the dark on the island. Not only do they present a physical threat, but their terrifying appearance will test even the most hardened mercenary’s sanity.
While it can be dangerous to engage them, they often drop special loot that can be extremely useful. Remember, good things come to those that are brave.
Sergeant Elcado Needs Help
While much of the island has been ravaged by the virus, there are still people who have managed to survive. One such survivor is Sergeant Elcado, who is the only surviving member of a NATO squad sent to investigate the ongoing events on the island. Survivors like him can often help you throughout your mission, but they will often ask that you do something for them in exchange.
Community Highlight: Gameplay Versatility & Compatibility
One of our goals in developing Vorax, is to provide the player with multiple different ways to play the game. Whether it’s going in guns blazing, or cleverly trapping an area to avoid fighting enemies head on, we want the player to choose how they approach each and every situation. https://youtu.be/6FZJgo-0c2s To highlight this, check out some of the content created by our community members showcasing how they tackle difficult situations.
What's next?
That’s all for this week, everyone. But look forward to the next one when we will take a closer look at some of the strategic aspects of the game, such as trap crafting and building fortifications.
Remember, the Open Alpha is still available for those of you wishing to experience some of the new content and updates we’ve added to the game. Also, be sure to join our Discord to get exclusive news on updates, events, and more.
