Nulgath 3B Extras: Weapon Forging

Extra! Extra!
Return to the Oversoul to begin forging new powerful weapons at Poniard’s anvil in the Forge of the Forlorn. While you’re there, defeat any sentient blades you encounter. They now drop Nation Weapons Fragments, useful materials for crafting Nulgath Nation Armaments.

Uniquely Powerful Weapons
At the very same anvil where you crafted a mighty weapon for Poniard, the Forge of the Forlorn calls you back to it with many new and uniquely powerful weapons to craft.
The anvil allows you to craft weapons with unique, or unusual, stats. For example, a weapon may offer a very high Critical bonus but reduces Haste. Or perhaps it only affects a single stat. It’s important to focus more on the description and stats when choosing your weapon than looks alone.
The intention of implementing this system is to provide options to players without Best in Slot weapons (like Phoenix Blade of Nulgath II, 8th Betrayal Blade, Hex Staff, etc). These are mostly optional weapons for players trying to catch up, players at different level ranges, and players with different difficulty levels and different levels of upgrades.

So choose your weapon(s), and choose wisely.

This is where the Oblivion Blade was forged, and others like it, by the forlorn residents of this great forge. Learn the art of the forge from the most skilled and most forlorn weapon smith, Poniard.



Prism of Pain
Nothing is as it seems in the Oversoul and that rings especially true here. A little cat guarding a map full of bones and lasers? Sounds like the only one who will be in pain is the one who has to cross all of those lasers. … Oh, wait. That’s You. Well, you’ll figure out something.

Get Extra Daily Quest Rewards and Experience Points All Week!
Our regularly scheduled release was unable to go out this week, so we're giving you a week of boosted Daily Quest rewards and Experience Points to make up for it. That means Double Daily Quest rewards, and 150% standard experience and Class experience points! This boost will last until Midnight on Thursday, June 29.



What Happened to the Nulgath Release?

Nulgath 3B is so close to being finished, but it seems some of the monsters and even quests have gone on strike. We’re currently negotiating terms and expect them to be resolved by next week.

Real talk, our hard-working testers found some bugs that just can’t be squashed in time to release this week as scheduled. We’re taking this extra time to make sure that this release is able to be completed and enjoyed as intended. The team is excited to show you what we’ve been working on so hard as much as you want to play it. Maybe more!
 
So, for now, head to Pointe Less Isle and earn double Pointe Less Trophy tokens for the Summer shops, go to a Class Trainer and get more Class Tokens *and* Class XP, and you might want to complete the Nulgath Saga 3A quests so you’re ready to begin part 3B next week! All while getting extra standard Experience Points while you’re at it!

The Lumberjack's Axe

Seek Out the Lumberjack
Must be level 20 or higher to begin this quest.
Seems like someone left their axe out in Heartwood Forest beyond the Guardian camp. Doesn’t look like it fared well against the magical wood of Heartwood’s trees. Find the axe’s owner and begin the quest for a sturdier axe.



Yulgar’s Blacksmithing
If anyone can make a blade powerful enough to chop through heartwood, it’s Yulgar. He needs very specific materials, though he isn’t sure exactly where to find all of them. Use your knowledge of AQ3D and/or brainstorm with the community to find what he needs.

Ludrow’s Got It Handled
Inspired by the hearty nature of Heartwood itself, Ludrow wants to craft the handle from materials found in the Heartwood Forest. Bring back the materials he needs to complete his new magical Wood Axe.



Lumberjack Rewards
Complete this quest line to obtain the Wood Axe and title “Chopper”, as well as:
  • Unlock “Wooden Warrior” shop on Ludrow to re-obtain Wooden Warrior set and get the Living Grove Axe with Lumber Bundles
  • Unlock “More Lumberjacking” quests on Ludrow for Lumber Bundles.

The Forge of the Forlorn
A spoiler-free sneak peak of the Forge of the Forlorn
Several statues of Nulgath greet you as you enter the Forge of the Forlorn from the gaping Maw. Watchful eyes shift to follow the movements of those who wander this area as forge hammers clang in the distance…



What Awaits You...
The next segment of the Nulgath Saga: Part 3, which we are calling “3B”, takes you deeper into the Oversoul! The Forge of the Forlorn is the first map you will encounter. You learn that this is where the Oblivion Blade was forged and why it is called the Forge of the Forlorn.

You will find that there are a lot of sentient weapons here. Makes sense as this is the place where the Oblivion Blade was forged. Since you’ll be in the Forge for a while… we may as well let you try crafting your own weapons. Perhaps you’ll forge one that could rival the Oblivion Blade itself.



Not only will you be able to craft weapons in this map, you will also obtain new armor sets, new weapon drops, and a new quest pet!

Remember that the Nulgath Saga is infamous in Artix Entertainment games for having long grinds for the most powerful items, so be prepared… The grind isn’t over.

Speaking of long…



The Hall of Eternal Waiting
You will also spend time in the Hall of Eternal Waiting, which offers a wondrous view of the Forge of the Forlorn from many magnificent windows. You know, in case waiting for eternity wasn’t miserable enough. But, hey, at least you have Dage and Seary to keep you company.

There is far more to the Nulgath Saga: 3B story line, but I hope this gets you excited for what’s to come. The team is implementing quests and cutscenes, the art team are making even more awesome items and monsters, and the testers are ready to find as many bugs and complications as possible to make this release worth the wait.

Players, Sheathe Your Weapons!
AdventureQuest 3D - Trinhtrin


Hands Free Adventuring
The new weapon sheathing feature is here! Turn on Auto-Sheathe to run around Lore with your hands free! Your weapon will rest on your back (or at your side) while you run, rest, emote, and interact with NPCs.



Toggle Auto-Sheathing
Go to the game Menu, then Settings. In the Options (General) scroll down to Controls and check the box for Auto-Sheathe Your Weapons. Now (most of) your weapons will be sheathed until you are ready for combat! And after combat is done, and you’re out of harm’s way, the weapon will re-sheathe itself! How cool is that?!?

Just know that some non-standard weapons (like books and drinks) may look silly when sheathed. Also, for now, bows and a very few select other weapons are unable to be sheathed. So those will be worked on in Phase 2 of Sheathing.

Hint: You can also type /sheathe into chat to sheathe your weapon in a jiffy!
