We updated AdventureQuest 3D to the newest version of Unity which will allow us to start using the newest tools to improve the graphics and gameplay. For this release, our goal was for the game to look EXACTLY like it did yesterday. So even though we updated literally every map, armor, item, and file in the entire game-- nothing should look different to you. If it does, let us know on the bug tracker!

Now that the Legendary Tier Kickstarter Backers are getting their early access, we can start preparing to release both Paladin and Necromancer for all players to obtain in the upcoming new DoomWood.

We added two new fixed (not scaling) dungeons in this release called the Mushmen's Nest & Broodons Challenge. Here you can battle for drops that will allow you to craft our first ever level 21 items.



We would like to thank real-life Zakaru for making this area possible. He was extremely focused and excited on making something fun and interesting for you and all of your fellow players to enjoy. We had a blast when he and his sister visited the lab to meet and work with us. He is a great guy, and if you see him in game, be sure to say hi and toss him some thanks for this awesome saga.

By doing the quests, you permanently unlock pieces of the DreadFool armor set in a collection. Normally, this is something that costs DCs. But since D-Piddy agreed to be in this release, we wanted to do something nice for everyone. So, every time you turn a piece of crafted armor into D-Piddy, it forever unlocks the item.

We did some AdventureQuest 3D things! This release makes it easier to play with friends, teleport right on top of your friends with summoning/teleporting, lighting improvements, PC & Mac graphical options including max culling distance and particle hits from other players, Epic Founder Portrait, emotes menu, and tons of bugs were squished with squishy vengence!

A strange robotic moglin from another world is in town right now. Named M-06-L1N, he has two parody shops with seasonal rares from beyond the stars. These are only available once per year, get them while you can...



"When we say extreme challenge, we really mean it."
It is called the Dream Labryrinth. The enterence is on that seemingly impossible to get to floating island that you can see from the World Tree. Most players will never even figure out how to enter the new Dream Labyrinth. the And that might be a good thing. Because you will need a party of skilled players to have any hope of finding the way to the center of the psychotic maze... where you will encounter THE WALL OF PAIN! It is unlike anything you have encountered in AdventureQuest 3D before.



The Battleon Barbershop will open next week. You will finally be able to go inside and get a "new do" from your favorite Barberbarian stylist. Over 10 new hairstyles are being released including fades, afros, spiky anime-style, and more. You can unlock new styles by doing quests... including some experimental glow-in-the-dark (emissive) hairs.

AdventureQuest 3D's Necromancer class is now available for everyone to test on the PTR (Public Test Realm).

As a Necromancer, you summon an undead minion to fight for you. Excellent company if you are feeling lonely. But they do not last long. This first type of Necromancer can only summon a single skeletal minion for a short period of time before it collapses into dust. No worries, summoning more is the fun part. Your special summons a giant skeleton which is extra fun. Everyone is invited to help us test and give us feedback. We have been carefully reading the comments so far and are working on increasing its power, and getting a little life leach when you cast your dark magic. This class plays very differently from our previous ones!

We are anticipating releasing Paladin for all players in the upcoming Doomwood Revamp. We are not sure if Necromancer will be released there, opposing Paladin (which would be fun-- and I really want to add the Tower of Necromancer). Or, if we will release Necromancer in the Dragon's Graveyard. Meanwhile, Alpha Pirate (Similar to Pirate Class) has had great progress. It is our first dual wielding hand cannon class. Zhoom is adding new equip slots to the database (Bow & Guns) to support the new models and animations we have ready. Finally, Ninja has had some setbacks. The original "different skills cause different combos to start" style game-play was ultimately too confusing. Rabblefroth is trying something different. I am still crossing my fingers for shirken and double jump. Battle on!

The World Tree, the linchpin of multiple worlds, is still in danger! In the first half of the World Tree story, Slifsgaard taught you about what it means to be a shaman in Lore, You traveled to four different elemental crossplanes to get the permission from the elemental Aspects to enter the Dream Plane.



Now, you must travel to the world of dreams, where the Void Knightmare is attacking the World Tree and find a way to stop the unthinkably huge beast!




Have you ever had a dream where you were in your house but it wasn't YOUR house? You know that you live there but it looks nothing like the house you really live in?



Trust us on this one...



Much like the elemental crossplanes, the Dream Plane is a kind of reflection of our world where things might look the same but things work very differently.




There's lot of new gear in this release and you can craft ALL of it! No drops other than crafting materials and no cosmetics that you can only buy with Dragon Crystals!



Using the gems you can also craft each of the four masks worn by the elemental Aspects, Axas, Zolin, Pahua and Snek.



You will also be able to craft the basic Dream Warden robes, belt, bracers and three mask options and the Blade and Ancestors and Elemental Axe!




As some of you know, this release is one of the two releases designed by our Top Tier Kickstarter Backers who each got to design a weapon, their own NPC and were invited to the lab and work with us to design a whole area and story for you guys to play through.

We weren't sure what we were getting ourselves into when we offered this option. We were bringing in fans with no professional game development experience who might have demands that were completely impossible. They might want to reach too far and break the world we wanted to build or make it harder to tell the stories we're telling... but non of that happened.

When Slifsgaard came to the lab he let us know what he really just wanted to make something that the fans of our games, fans like himself, have enjoyed for years. He had amazing ideas that were cool and fun but not over-reaching, his vision was really in line with what AQ3D was already working toward and he was very easy to work with!

Any community, online or otherwise, will have some rotten apples but it's really great to know that the Artix Entertainment Community composed of fans like Slifsgaard who are not here to start drama or bring anybody down... but just like the games and want to make sure everyone else does too.
